Trouble installing Captivate trial on Mac OS

I tried installing the Captivate Trial, it seemed to work fine, but once all was installed it didn't work. The icon of Adobe Captivate would bounce several times and then disappear or become still. I checked to see if it was running in the background somewhere (cmd)+(opt)+(esc) and it was not running. I then uninstalled the application and removed all software. I then went back to the adobe site and re-downloaded the application (after signing in). Again the same situation happened. Can someone help me? Is there another step of this installation that I am missing? I currently already have CS6 premium suite installed (so I have been through this installation process before-unless it has changed)

Adobe Captivate Trial expires after one use

I just downloaded the Adobe Captivate trial (Mac) and it only worked once. I'm pretty sure I have never installed this before on my Mac. Is there a known problem and fix for this?

Steverb2 if your trial is showing as expired then I would recommend evaluating the software on a different computer. Please see Adobe trial software expired early - http://forums.adobe.com/thread/981369 for possible reasons your trial may have expired early. There is no method available to extend an expired trial.

System requirements for captivate trial

I am a Mac User but I have an old Dell Inspiron 8100 laptop with Pentium III, 1.1Ghz and 512 MB Ram. I am taking an elearning design class and need to trial Captivate which I can't on my Mac. From looking at the system requirements, it appears that the Captivate trial download requires Pentium 4 to run. Am I out of luck and stuck with the school's computer lab to play with Captivate and to build a sample elearning class? When will Captivate be available on a Mac? The rumor is at the end of the year = is this true?

Is your Mac Intel based? If so, you could run Parallels in order to use Captivate.
As to when it will become available, only Adobe can say for sure. Indeed I fully expect it to be released by the end of the year. Actually, my own guess is that it will be sooner than that. I'm guessing that you will see it within the next three months.

Trouble with captivate trial download for mac

im trying to download the trial version of captivate on my mac, the akamai netsession interface is now on my desktop, i go through installation, it makes that happy sound and says the installation was successful, but nothing actually happens, no new folders or documents, or applications, seems like sort of a dead end.
To investigate i clickedon Akamai in "other" of my system preferences is tells me the status is "forbidden" but I am the administrator and i have never used this free trial before, so why am I "forbidden?"

Adobe Captivate Trial Installation Error

The trial downloaded fine but when installing Captivate I received the following messages during installation. In Windows, windows creates a folder named My Documents. However it appears Adobe Captivate is looking for a folder just called Documents which doesn't exist. If I look into "C:\Users\Tom Lansburg\My Documents\My Adobe Captivate Projects\Layouts\6.0\en_us", Adobe had already created and placed the files it is looking for here. Windows will not allow me to create a folder called Documents without first merging what the system folder contents of My Documents has in it. I was reluctant to do this since there maybe links to files in these folders that won't get remapped when I do this.

having trouble downloading and launching trial version of captivate. Using a Windows 32bit system. When I try to launch -- get error message that says "the procedure entry point NormalizeString could not be located in the dynamic link library KERNEL32.dll"

I'm planning to create my project with the trial version of Adobe Captivate. May I know what are the scope and limitation in using the demo version? Would I be able to use all of the functions and features? Will there be an expiry date for my use? Thanks!

The trial version is fully functional. However, the projects published with the trial version expire when the trial ends, that is after 30 days.
To ensure that your project remains active after the trial period, you need to purchase the full license and republish the projects.

Where is the Library in this Captivate Trial version?

What causes the Library to go missing? It is not on the Window menu, and cannot be activated using CTRL+ALT+L. This is the trial verison of Adobe Captivate 4. When I open a project, I get a message saying that the library has many unused item; however, I cannot open the library to remove them.

Hi there
The trial version is not crippled in any way. You are probably just not viewing the Edit area. Double-click any slide and you should enter edit mode. Then you will be able to use the methods you outlined to show the Library.
You might also consider submitting a Wish Form to ask the development team to place a handy button on that dialog that opens the Library when you click it!

Converting Captivate Trial to Purchase

I am using the Trial version of Adobe Captivate. Can I add it to my suite of Apps or must I buy it separately.

If you are talking about the Creative Cloud, the answer is negative: Captivate is not in the Creative Cloud, you'll have to buy it separately. There is a subscription version available, not included in the subscription to the CC.

Is it necessary to uninstall Captivate trial to install paid version?

Not necessary but published files will have an expiration date, you will
have to republish them.

Different features between captivate trial version and the product itself

The only difference is the time in which you have to use it
and the fact that during the trial period, any projects you create
using the trial will automatically have an expiration date
configured that you can't disable until you purchase the license.
Once you do that, the check box that allows you to disable the
expiration date for the project will work.

Captivate Trial Download Problems

I downloaded the Captivate 32 bit trial. I tried to download the 32 bit extraction file, but there wasn't one. Obviously, the 64 bit doesn't work. I can't use my trial and am running out of days. Where is the 32 bit extraction file?

Problem downloading Captivate trial problem with online trial of ELS

The Captivate download application cancels the download. Online ELS takes 5 - 10 minutes to load and connect then does not recognize my Adobe password.

Jeffrey could you please let me know what OS are you using and any errors you get while downloading the software.
Make sure you have high speed internet connection as the file size is quite large, For Windows it's 5Gb and for MAC it's 4GB.
Please follow the instructions below carefully to download eLS6.1 directly without using the download manager :
1. Navigate to the eLS6.1 Downloads page : http://www.adobe.com/cfusion/tdrc/index.cfm?product=elearning_suite
2. Sign in with your Adobe ID.
3. Copy and paste the following links on the address bar as per the OS you own one at a time and hit enter :

How do I install Neospeech voices for Captivate trial version?

I tried using the link in the text to speech window, nothing happens when I click on it.

Save the zip file and then extract it. Run the setup file from extracted folder and it will install Neospeech voices.
