Captivate 6 will not load in Mac

I tried to start my Adobe Captivate this morning and received a message that the Java app needed to be updated. I accepted  and once the download was done, I tried to start Captivate and the program will not load, and the below message appears:
Did that happen to any of you? What is the fix? My Mac OS is 10.9.1
Thanks,
Sam

Please install the Captivate patch for Mavericks. More info here:

I have already tried compressed air.  No luck.  How will I be able to get the cleaning disk in to load if I can't load a regular cd?
How will i be able to get the business card in far enough to reach the inner area where the optics probably are located?
Cleaning discs will load.  On a MBP that has never been cleaned, run the cleaning 2-3 times.  If you use the slot a lot, use the cleaning disc about every 3 months.

  • Captivate 4 will not load up.

    Hello,
I have just installed captivate 4 and everytime I try to load it up, it does not load. Gives me the green Captivate screen then shuts down. I have reinstalled flash. It is Flash Player 10. I am not sure what to do can someone help. I am on windows xp os and have a HP EliteBook.
    Thanks,
    NizarRogers

I just ran into this problem with Captivate as well. I uninstalled Flash Player 10.1 by going here: http://kb2.adobe.com/cps/141/tn_14157.html
I then downloaded an archived Flash Player here: http://kb2.adobe.com/cps/142/tn_14266.html
It seems the main installer does not incorporate the Active-X version of Flash that Internet Explorer needs. There should be several Windows installers in the download. For example, I used Flash Player 10. The following Windows files were in the package:
    •    flashplayer10r45_2_win.exe
    •    flashplayer10r45_2_winax.exe
    •    flashplayer10r45_2_win_sa.exe
Install the first one and second. The second file is the Active-X Flash version (I’m thinking “winax” means Windows Active-X), which Captivate needs to run. I don’t think you need to install the last file (“win_sa”, I’m thinking the “sa” stands for stand-alone).

  • Yosemite will not load on Mac Pro running OS X v10.7 Lion

Started download from App store and would not install. Have tried many times but no success. Has anyone else had the same issue.

    Hello Wayne.
I had the same problem with my MAC-mini Mid-2011.
I did download YOSEMITE three times.
I always had the same failure at my screen.
But now the fourth time the download went through completely.
My Timestamp now is Saturday, 12:00 o' clock AM Germany-time.
Because i don't know where you are living, i think when i tell you the time at CUPERTINO. They have Friday, 3:00 o'clock PM.
Please try the download again. I hope you will be successfully too.
    Best regards,
    Andrew (computerschmied)

  • Legacy CS3 will not load on MAC Air, (Lion 10.7)

CS 3 fails to install on a new MAC Air. Set stalls after initial screen. What's going on?
    Thanks

Not a big shock actually. There's a Lion FAQ on the Adobe website with all known issues.

  • Illustrator CS 6 will not load on MAC 10.10

    Thank you the
Please go through this KB article:
Crash after startup screen, or prompts for Java 6
    Worked!

Should still work just fine on OSX 10.9. I even have it running on OSX 10.10.2 Hannaz.
Here are some things you can try:
    Quit out of Illustrator.
Go to the Finder, press Option-key, and from the Go menu > Library
Locate the Preferences folder, and open it.
Locate the Adobe Illustrator CS6 Settings folder, and rename it to old Adobe Illustrator CS6 Settings folder.
Try relaunching Illustrator again after doing that ( new Settings folder is automatically created).
    Also:
Go to the Finder, press Option-key, and from the Go menu > Library
Locate the Caches folder, and delete any Illustrator cache files
    Other things to try:
ensure no third-party plug-ins are installed (for instance font management) into Illustrator
To rule out that there is a system or preferences related issue, create a new Admin User on your computer and log-in as that user, then try launching Illustrator.
Hope one or more of these help you resolve the issue.

  • Mac for office 2011 will not load

Mac fo ruff ice 2011 will not load?

On an iPad (or any iOS device), not it won't. It is for Windows or Mac OS  X only.

  • Mac Mini will not load after recent update.

My late 2012 model Mac Mini just had a software update and upon rebooting, my login name did not populate.  I rebooted again and now I get the gray screen with spinner and progress bar.  Once the progress bar loads I have just the spinner for a minute or so before it cuts off completely.  I use a wireless MAC keyboard and it will not load into safe mode when I try holding down SHIFT upon reboot.  Any suggestions?

Try Safe Mode with a wired KB
Use a PC KB if necessary

    Boot to recovery
OS X: About OS X Recovery
and try repairing the startup disk
    Next reinstall the OS

  • When turning on my mac all i get is the 1st screen it will not load to the next screen for log in pls help

When turning on my mac I get the first white screen with the apple logo but it will not load to the next login screen

Could be many things, we should start with this...
    "Try Disk Utility
    1. Insert the Mac OS X Install disc, then restart the computer while holding the C key.
    2. When your computer finishes starting up from the disc, choose Disk Utility from the Installer menu at top of the screen. (In Mac OS X 10.4 or later, you must select your language first.)
*Important: Do not click Continue in the first screen of the Installer. If you do, you must restart from the disc again to access Disk Utility.*
    3. Click the First Aid tab.
    4. Select your Mac OS X volume.
    5. Click Repair Disk, (not Repair Permissions). Disk Utility checks and repairs the disk."
    http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=106214
Then try a Safe Boot, (holding Shift key down at bootup), run Disk Utility in Applications>Utilities, then highlight your drive, click on Repair Permissions, reboot when it completes.
(Safe boot may stay on the gray radian for a long time, let it go, it's trying to repair the Hard Drive.)
If perchance you can't find your install Disc, at least try it from the Safe Boot part onward.
    If 10.7.0 or later...
Bootup holding CMD+r, or the Option/alt key to boot from the Restore partitirion & use Disk Utility from there.

    Check System Preferences - Accounts
Choose you account - login items: If iTunesHelper
shows up - remove it it will prevent re-installation.
It did not have iTunes in the list, just mail and iCal alarm. Deadlines and emails are vital in my home office.
Now that I think about it, adding Mail to the list was the only thing that I had changed to the computer when this happened, but I can't imagine how that would alter permission to install on the OS.

    Note: I saw a G5 1.2 for $1,500 CAN. I was tempted.

I own the businesses, so there are no restrictions. Even my personal page has the same problem. I've been working on FB for years with no access problems. Ironically, the problem started the day the FB IPO went public. At first, the "freeze" happened when I tried to view a photo. Now it happens virtually every time I try to do anything: view a friend's page, try to use "chat."
I'm at a loss. I would view it as a blessing, except that too many of my "friends" and family only use FB to communicate. I'm afraid that's how the world is today, and we can't turn back the clock.

  • Mac mail will not load emails anymore, just keeps "Loading..."

    Hello,
For some reason, mac mail will not load previous emails. It is only one account, when I click on that mailbox, it just keeps "Loading" and never retreives emails. The acounts are fine. It was fine 5 minutes ago, now it is not. This has happened once in the past and it was never resolved. I recreated the account, and lost all the emails.
    Please help!
    Thank you,
    Greg

I just discovered I was a life saver, thanks for the kudos everyone.
Why? It's not your fault. It's because how Apple Mail stores mail, it simply is not robust enough.
A robust program assumes that it may crash at any moment while writing to any of its files, and that there will be undiscovered, rarely occurring bugs that will have similar effect. The damage it does needs to be detected later and then repaired automatically or degraded gracefully so only one mail is lost, and not all of them.
Evidently, Apple fails to do so or didn't do a thorough job.
For mail this is really urgent, because a mail program does many things simultaneously which increases the chance that things go wrong once in a while, and on top email comes from the wild world outside and can contain many types of junk that need to be contained. Mail server delivery data muck, deliberate attempts to hack your mailbox by mail, phishing attempts, html newsletters made by Neanderthalers or marketeers, other buggy mail programs, poorly made phising mails, regular spam, you name it.
So there are a lot of possible 'runaway cars' that may dent another in the parking lot, but this should never cause an entire parking lot building to tilt so all the cars roll to one side of the floor and while still there, can't open the doors anymore.
Computer science made many solutions for this the past 3 decades and it isn't even that hard to do, many file formats have auto-recovery features.
For example: You may have seen a movie on TV or internet, or skype conversation that goes into "weird blocks" a few seconds and then go back to normal. That's damaged data and auto-recovery of the data format kicking in to fix it or at least reduce the damage. Without it, you'd be looking at digital snow for the rest of the show. Apple does the latter to your mail.
In modern databases this is done all the time, because a company can't afford to lose all of its financial data because 1 record went bad or there once was a power outage. For a user, losing his/her mail can be just as catastrophic. If they can, Apple can. Come on.
But that answer won't help ya, unless someone at Apple actually READS these threads and feels intense SHAME that they did not listen to that inner voice saying: hmm it looks spiffy now but we really gotta work on the internals a bit more. No, data is not sexy. Yes, it's boring. But it's necessary. Remember Steve's step father taught his son that the backside of a drawer should also be made neatly. Dad was right folks.
Since this mail I'm going into my 3rd combat with Mocrosoft Exchange which is another factor that, while it should be better than regular mail, also is another rogue runaway car that dents the fragile internal file structure of Apple Mail.
    Yours truly, an Apple fanboy.

  • My Mac will not load up

I'm actually doing this as a favor for somebody.
The problem is they live in Spain and have powercuts very regularly. They went away for a few days and forgot to turn their mac off.
Now it will not load up properly and displays on a black screen something about DARWIN. I've never come across that sort of problem before but it sounds quite bad.
I advised them to try and use the back up disk, at that time the disk draw would not open.
It was managed after a while, with a bit of gentle manipultion on one of the cogs. The disk was inserted and the 'C' button was pressed at the start up. When it came to choosing the hard disk, there wasn't one to choose.
What it sounds like to me is the hard disk has been damaged quite badly or even destroyed somehow in the powercuts.
The computer is an old flat panel. 800mhz, 60GB hard drive,
256 RAM. I suppose it is going to cost a lot of money to fix it, is it worth just giving up on it and replacing the machine with something else.
The machine was only used for a bit of word processing and web browsing.

There is a nother thread called 'crashed mac" here where the guy has the same problem....not sure of the solution. He might need to boot to a Disk warrior CD and see if that helps. Its a problem i have not hear much about, but this is twice in one week....and if you google it, you will find it even more common...but no real solution that I can find yet.

  • Suddenly my .mac/.me email will not load on my macbook

suddenly my .mac/.me email will not load on my macbook.  got err messages requesting my pasword and added password and nothing has loaded.

Your signature says you are using 10.5.6 - is this correct. Leopard is not compliant with iCloud's requirements.
You have been using MobileMe's email settings, which sometimes continue to work for a time after migration but then get turned off. iCloud's mail server settings are different. Strictly speaking Lion 10.7.2 is required for iCloud, and on that Mail is set up automatically.
Leopard cannot access most of iCloud's facilities, however you can set Mail up manually to access your email. The method is described here:
    http://www.wilmut.webspace.virginmedia.com/notes/icloudmail.html
You may also need to change your pasasword if it's not compliant with Apple's requirements - at least 8 characters, of which at least one must be a numeeral and one a capital letter.
