Captivate 7.0.1.237 bookmarking not working

We have been creating bigger courses that exceed 1 hour (68 to 70 mins) and the SCORM file is around 150 MBs. The SCORM 1.2 package has been tested in SCORM Cloud as well as our company LMS. Bookmarking worked for smaller courses (up to 48 minutes) in this LMS but now, no matter what slide you exit the course from, when it's relaunched, it starts at the beginning.
We also have an issue where one specific slide is remembered on a couple of courses and no matter where you exit the course, it opens again on that slide.
The company won't use the multi-SCO packager option. Does anyone have any suggestions for this?

Thanks so much for your reply. The SCORM zipped file is 150 MBs but the SWF is about 75 MBs. Anyhow, they won't allow us to use the Multi-SCO packager at this point and we're stuck with the large course. We're also currently stuck with SCORM 1.2 due to other issues our company experienced with SCORM 2004 in our LMS. However, I did get help from the following forum post thread 1236002, Suspend Data is exceeding limit in LMS , which led me to remove all unused Text_Entry_Box variables in the project and this worked for us. Bookmarking is now acting as it should in our LMS. Just thought I'd share this in case someone else runs into this issue.

Self-Paced Learning - Bookmark not working in Captivate 5

I followed the directions of adding a Table of Contents to one of my captivate projects and selecting Self-Paced Learning in order to create a bookmark but this does not work. I have saved it as Adobe Flash 9 and Adobe Flash 10 but I am not getting the message about starting where I left off when either refreshing the browser or exiting and going back in. What am I missing?

All slides in the presentation are marked as continue. I have gone
through the first 5 slides and when I refresh the browser or exit out of
Internet Explorer and open the project again it just starts at the
beginning.

How did you check: after uploading to a LMS?
You have to be aware of the fact that a slide will be marked as 'viewed'
only when the playbar has played the whole slide till the end. If you do
pause slides with a click box, button, TEB and attach the action 'Go to
Next slide' or something similar instead of the default action 'Continue'
this will not happen and the slide will not be marked as completed.

Bookmarks not working in multi-document PDF application

Why are bookmarks not working in multi-document PDF application when uploaded to the web? We created a multi-document PDF application. All bookmarks and links work on our systems. All work on the customer's system. They do not work when uploaded to the customers website. Their IT department says its an issue of relative vs. absolute addressing. We've created applications like this for years without running into this issue. Can't find anything about it in Acrobat Help. Can anyone help or lead me to help? Thx much, Sandy

Have you tried opening the file in your browser to see if the bookmarks are working? To open the file in your browser you need to do this:
1) Launch your favorite browser;
2) File >> Open >> Select your pdf file

Captivate 4 AS2 Text Entry Box not working with Flash Player 11

I am having issues with text entry boxes not working at all in flash 11. I am using Captivate 4 and exporting an AS2 swf. When you get to the slide you can type but you cannot see anything nor does the button or keystroke to move on. Also there is no cursor. Any ideas?

You said it is not working with Flash 11, so does that mean you tested with previous version and that worked?
While publishing choose Flash player as 9 and publish that, verify if that plays in a compatible web browser.
AS 2 is a legacy scripting, it has been said not too be supported with even Flash Player 10 --

I believe if you switch back to version 9 while publish your project, it should work.

IBooks bookmarks not working after 1.2 upgrade

I have noticed the bookmarks on my iPad iBooks are not working after upgrading to 1.2 today.
I am unable to bookmark pages when I need to. It only works sporadically.
I have also noticed when closing a book and reopening, the book opens at last bookmarked page instead of last page read.
Please advice about any fix.

So I wonder if this is some problem of formating between landscape 2 page view and the single page portrait view?
My two cents but this is sure annoying! I have not seen it jump back like some noticed however, just previous page in portrait view!

Hyperlinks to bookmarks not working

When I create a hyperlink to a bookmark it works fine when I create it: as soon as the bookmark is chosen from the drop-down menu the link takes me to it. However when I subsequently click the hyperlink (with the 'make all hyperlinks inactive' box unchecked) nothing happens. Hyperlinks to webpages work fine. I'm using iBooks Author version 2.1.3 and Mavericks version 10.9.5. I've scoured the net but no-one else seems to be having this problem so I guess I must be making some elementary blunder. Any help would be much appreciated.

I'm not sure how some of the links in one of my notes were created.
My thinkng is that there are many applications that can make the determination that something that starts with http:// or https:// can be made to behave as a hyperlink
I do know that I did not purposely create a hyperlink and then paste it into my note.
Also, the only time that I receive the Open URL option in the services is when I select text. E.G if i have text in my Note like jguitar.com and I select the text and then choose Notes > Services, the Open URL option appears and the link will open. If I select the word jguitar all by itself/alone, the option doesn't appear, so the application can tell if it is a possible choice for opening a URL.
Something isn't quite adding up......

Javascript-based multi-parameter bookmarks not working in firefox 13

Think of it like this: use a keyword to call in the search, then put in two parameters (say, zip code and type of forecast) and it goes straight to the page (my zip code, 7-day. or parents' zip code, hourly) in one shot.
It's sometimes stopped working recently, and I think it's been since I upgraded to FF13. By 'not working' i mean I can restore the bookmark;s "location" to what used to work, and then the shortcut works just fine until .... I don't know. Usually closing firefox and reopening it again and then trying to use the bookmark will cause the browser to just sit there with the entire javascript string in the subject bar.

From my observations, it seems that it doesn't work on newly opened tabs, tabs where you didn't visited a single site. After I visited one random site on that tab, and entered the search keyword and parameters, it worked. It also works on the initial start page, because it's about:blank I guess.

Captivate 7 event video playback controls not working

Hi,
I'm using Captivate 7 and published an mp4 event video with limited playback controls (only play, pause, back, and close) on the slide, since the event video controls won't show up once published. When I publish the HTML5 video (with or without seamless tabbing) the controls are not working. When I click play the video plays and I can pause it, but when I want to continue play, the controls are not working.
I tried only to use the skins (clear, corona, and halo) given with the event video, but then I can't pause the video at all, since the controls are not showing.
We need the video to play in HTML5 mode for iPads and computers, but we're at a loss with the controls. The video has got to be limited to only play, pause, back, and close - no scrubbing or forwarding. Any ideas?

I know you will hate Captivate for this. But if you are publishing to HTML5, the skins you select here won't make any difference as HTML5 output comes with its own mysterious skin which is not visible until you publish and check.
Here is how that skin looks when viewed in Google Chrome browser on my laptop running on Windows 7.
Here is the skin I have used for that in the Captivate editor.
The best way to test these outputs is from a webserver or SCORM Cloud.

Captivate 5.5 project -links are not working when i publish to the IE server

I was wondering if someone had a solution to my Captivate 5.5 project with external links.
Here is my problem:
I have a page that has an external link that opens another window.
For some reason the window will open in preview. However, when I publish to the IE browser it does not work.
Does someone have a solution to this problem? I saw some verbiage that stated adjusting something swf file. I don't quite understand were to change this file. Is it in Captivate?
Any information you have is greatly appreciated.

Google for information about Flash Global Security.
It looks like you need to trust the publish folder location as a trusted location in your Flash Global Security settings.

Captivate 2.0 Play/Pause button Not Working

Hi,
We are facing a problem in captivate 2.0 file. Due to some
reason the play/pause button isn’t working in the captivate
file. There are few links on a particular screen which goes to
respective slides in the captivate file. Once the learner jumped on
a respective screen then the Play/Pause button is not working. Even
though I keep on clicking the Play/Pause button the Audio is not
stopping, it keeps on playing. When we click thrice on the
Play/Pause button, then the Audio stops.
Could you please help me in resolving this issue?

Exact same thing is happening to mine. It's a conspiracy so we'll all have to buy a new piece of ipod tech. I've been happy with it so far, but now it is just like a pack of gum, but less chewy and no tasty goodness.

Bookmark not working in BW query report iview in EP?

do i need to give any properties of that iview. or do i need to do any configs in BW level.

Our experience has been that the bookmark button does not work in the EP. If you select bookmark from the context menu it should work fine

RH9 - Import Word 2010 - Bookmarks not working

We use Technical Communications Suite 3 with Robohelp 9 HTML.
I import a Word 2010 doc (about 400 pages) and generate Microsoft HTML help.
In the Word document we have cross-references to headings and bookmarks. The bookmarks work in Word, they work when I convert the Word Doc to a PDF using Adobe Acrobat X, however when I import the document into Robohelp 9 HTML they do not work.
The cross-references to headings work but the ones to bookmarks end up with href="".
I can edit the html and manually put in the href ="filename#bookmark" and it works but I want it to convert automatically upon import. The booksmarks in the word document read "(see page xyz)", where the xzy is the cross-reference to the bookmark, using a pagenumber field, so that in a printed document the user sees the page number and in the PDF, Word Doc, etc. and hopefully in the chm they can just click on the link.
Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks for the comments. At your suggestion, I was able to get it to work in a small project using a 3-4 page Word document. However it still would not work in my larger project. I noticed that in the large project there were bookmarks that did work to a point in the document andintermittent there after. I went into the Word document to the first failure and re-inserted a new bookmark with the same name hoping it would have a positive result. The results were the same.
However when I inserted a bookmark with a different name, RoboHelp9 was able to recognize the bookmark and would convert to a link. I went through the Word document and created new bookmarks for the ones that did not work (a big task indeed). Now I am able to use the Word document as the source rather than having to edit the HTML in RoboHelp. This is good. Now only if I can get the footnotes to behave the same way....
Granted, I don’t know why a set of the original bookmarks were not working when they worked in other format conversions (Acrobat -> pdf, Word->HTML, XPS), but I can move on. Possibly it has something to do with Window 7 x64….
But, thanks for the input; it put me on a workable path.

Add new bookmark not working

Running Firefox 3.6.13 on a Dell Inspiron laptop. Everything works great, except for one catch: I can't add new bookmarks. Pressing Control+D does nothing, clicking add new bookmark does nothing, dragging the tab into the dropdown bookmark menu does nothing. I've tried the entire tree of options on the Bookmarks not saved Troubleshooing page (https://support.mozilla.com/en-US/kb/Bookmarks%20not%20saved) which, among other things, involved resetting my localstore file, disabling all my extensions/themes/add-ons. I also disabled my Norton 360 firewall, which apparently can cause issues, but this didn't seem to solve it. And I have of course done the usual, deleted all cookies/browser cache etc and tried rebooting. Any idea what else I should try?
MAJOR EDIT: Just realized it doesn't work in Safe Mode. What had happened was I tried to bookmark Google (not realizing I already had) and it let me do that, which is the same in normal firefox- pressing Control+D will bring up the expected box, but only on pages I'd previously bookmarked.

Yes, as I said I tried that. I've disable every single one of my add-ons, themes and extensions but it still won't bookmark. EDIT: Does not work, even in Safe Mode. I agree that's weird behavior but the instructions there don't solve it.

Bookmarks not working (locked) when using same Windows Profile on multiple machines

My bookmarks are not working. I am using the same profile folder on two different machines (Desktop and Notebook) as I use the same Windows profile on both machines. The common profile folder is located on a third machine on our company network. Once I connect both machines to the network the bookmarks on one machine become unusuable as the other machine locks the bookmarks file. How can I manually unlock the bookmarks file places.sqlite? Renaming it and restarting FF does not help.
