http://itsnotonline.wordpress.com/2014/01/22/adobe-captivate-missing-quiz-check-boxes-in-h tml5-output/
I am having captivate 7
could anyone help me.
Thanks,
Rishi Jain

Hello Lieve,
It was good to see you again at Las Vegas!
The Interactions do not appear in the Widget panel.
The only way I am able to access them is: Insert/Widget and then direct Captivate to the source files.
This is the file pathway:
C:\Program Files\Adobe\Adobe Captivate 7 (32 Bit)\Gallery\Interactions
They also apear in this pathway:
C:\Users\Public\Documents\Adobe\eLearning Assets\Interactions
Also... the "Millionaire" Interaction seems to have disapeared from the Interaction library.
(I'm not sure if I am missing any others.)
On a side note: I know that you've gone through a lot this year... I truly hope you find the time to enjoy life & celebrate your passion for the flute!
Thank you again!

  • Video Issues with HTML5 Output

    Hello there,
    I have a project with several videos on seperate slides that are located inbetween normal content slides.
    Works fine with SWF output and HTML5 output viewed on the pc, but...
    when I test the course on an iPad the video plays quite fine the first time I watch it.
    However when I jump back to the video the screen stays black for the duration of the video.
    When there is audio in the video the audio plays but the screen stays black!
    What I happening here?
    Someone any ideas?
    Thanks in advance
    Ruwen

    Hello there,
    Have you inserted multi slide synchronized video or event video?
    and which format of video have you inserted?
    Please tell the complete version of Captivate 6 (help> about captivate) and which version of iOS is it?
    You can also try improve the slide quality to optimized or 24 bit in the properties of the slide (for every slide).
    Thanks.

  • Issue with Captivate 8 using IE with HTML5

    I discovered a rather unique situation with Captivate 8 and IE.  We have a SuccessFactors LMS with the content stored on a CDN server (cross domain environment).  I found that when we launched modules created with Captivate 8 using Internet Explorer (ver 9 and higher) we would get a blank page. The same modules published with captivate 7 worked fine.  I discovered that the index.html file was different between the Cap7 and Cap8 versions.  The Cap8 version has 2 new lines in it:
    function OnLoad_Activities()
    var lFrameset = document.getElementById("myFrameset");
    var newFrame = document.createElement("frame");
    newFrame.id = "scormdriver_content";
    newFrame.name = "scormdriver_content";
    newFrame.width = "100%";
    newFrame.height = "100%";
    var lParamString = window.location.toString().split("?")[1];
    The newFrame.width and newFrame.height lines are the new lines.  If I comment them out, the page loads just fine.  Apparently IE has an issue with this.  has anyone else run into this problem?

    Hello ,
    Welcome to Adobe Forums !
    Could you please check the version of Captivate you are using to publish (Go to Help > About Adobe Captivate) ?
    Also check the version of Scorm you are using , Try switching between Scorn 1.2 to Scorm 2004 or vice versa .
    Also try renaming the published output try to keep it simple , means without spacing or any special character.
    Regards

    Found this info recently, try this:
    Note for IT / Tech Support staff: If you are in a Windows domain login environment, such as a workplace network, there could be a conflict with the location of the Desktop directory. Some users have reported success by creating an empty folder named "Desktop" in their home directories (so if you already have a "Desktop" folder in your home directory, this probably will not help).
    In explorer, go to your home directory location:
    XP: C:\Documents and Settings\WINDOWS-USERNAME\
    Vista: C:\Users\WINDOWS-USERNAME\
    Create a new folder named "Desktop" in that location. Then try enabling Flash Local Storage again, as above.

  • Captivate 7 - HTML5 Output and Interactions - coming to the front

    Hi all,
    Don't know if anyone else has had this issue.  I have found that when using inetractions with HTML5 output they automatically come to the front of the slide regardless of where you placed them in the story file.
    I had used white rectangles to hide the interaction border but this now doesn't work in HTML5 (does the trick in SWF format).
    Any ideas?
    Cheers.

    Hi again Mayank,
    Little way down the road and it's not working .  I have been testing away and discovered several things.
    I started a new project and copy and pasted my slide from the main project with the accordian widget over to it.  This was initially not working when tested in HTML5 so i proceded to chop away stuff untill it worked.
    I discovered that if you have any objects with a shadow on the slide in any place (including not overlapping the widget) the whole widget breaks.  I also found that if you had a 'line' smart object anywhere that the whole widget breaks.
    Once i made sure i had no lines and shadows on the slide the widget then worked as expected with it staying at the back.
    However i have found that no matter what i do in my main project the widget never works, even when it is the only thing on a new slide?  This suggests a project wide issue and i have no idea what that could be.
    Is there a chance that the actual save of my project is the issue as it was created before i changed the code?  If so is there somthing i could change in the code of my save file to make it work?
    I thought maybe i could copy and paste the entire project into a new project but of course all the click boxes change back to continue which is a nightmare.
    EDIT: I just tried copying the entire project over to a new project and although all click boxes were on continue the slide with the widget worked fine (with the above amends).
    EDIT EDIT: Hah, okay i have now discovered that deleteing the images of my master slide allowed the original project to work with the above amends (lines and shadows removed) too?  So its the master slide thats the problem!

  • Smartshape buttons not consistent in HTML5 output

    I have toggle buttons I created using Smart Shapes and advanced actions. They work fine and predictable in SWF output, but in HTML5 output, sometimes only half the button is hot and sometimes the a button won't be hot at all. There appears to be a dead spot in the top middle of the screen. If I move the buttons out of this zone, they work. Is this a known bug with HTML5 output?

    Ok, so i tried unchecking Advanced Project Compression, still no luck.
    One thing that I did that made the objects show up was move them directly to the center of the project (which breaks the design and navigation constraints the client has.)
    Is there any reason why buttons and text near the edge of a project might be invisible in the output in Chrome? I am looking in the assets/js/... folder to see if there's anything there that might "hide" objects that are near the borders of the project. Any thoughts there?
    Update: I found an older published HTML5 output of the same project that doesn't lose those elements in a full screen chrome. It was done before the most recent updates to Captivate 6. I compared the CPLibrary.js and found there are significant portions of code that have been changed / and or removed. I took the CPLibrary.js from the old project, and put it into the assets/js folder of the new project and it caused the missing items to show up in chrome. Not sure if this error will be fixed in the next update for captivate?

  • FM12 - "Black" images in HTML5 output

    Hello
    I'm using Framemaker 12, and I work with HTML5 output to publish online helps.
    In my FM files, I use PNG images which are in anchored frames.
    My problem is, after I did the HTML5 output, my images appear "black" as you can see below. Any idea about where this problem comes from would be greatly appreciated !
    Thanks a lot.

    Hi Arnis,
    In fact the problem was in the transparency. My images are transparent .png files, and it looks like FM (still) does not know how to deal with transparency, and puts black where my images are transparent.

  • Issue with TOC overlaying MP4 embedded video in Firefox (Captivate 7 HTML5 output)

    Only in Firefox, I am coming across an issue when I have a video embedded on a slide, the overlaying Table of Contents displays but is not clickable. This is both when the video is paused and playing. The TOC comes over the embedded video area on the slide. I have considered it is possibly a z-index issue with Firefox, but really need a workaround.
    Firefox 28.0, Captivate 7 HTML5 package, MP4 video

    Hello Kris,
    Please check your output in other browsers like Internet Explorer and Google chrome as well.
    HTML5 output from Captivate is tested and supported only on below browsers
    Internet Explorer 9 or later
    Safari 5.1 or later
    Google Chrome 17 or later

  • Missing Bookmarks in Responsive HTML5 Output

    I just started working with Responsive HTML5 in RoboHelp 11. I notice that on one machine my bookmarks appear in the sidebar of the Responsive HTML5 output. However, when I move the output to a different machine and view it, the bookmarks are missing from the sidebar. Only the Contents icon appears from which I can access the pages individual pages. What do I need to do to ensure that the bookmarks appear regardless of the PC on which it runs? Thanks!

    It might be possible to tweak the responsive layout but Willam is likely the only person around here who can tell you how.
    Otherwise maybe a multiscreen layout could be used where you only generate one layout notwithstanding the name. There are some topics on my site and in the RoboHelp Tour that will help with that idea. Come back if stuck. Generally though I would stick with Responsive Layouts.

  • Is there a way to customize HTML5 output from Captivate?

    I am working on some JavaScript navigation for a project in Captivate 6 and I noticed that when it gets published as HTML5 content, every JavaScript call that is performed is followed up by a cpCmndResume = 1 in the Project.js file.  It would make sense to leave it up to the programmer to include this call if it is necessary for the code.  It causes problems when testing the slides inside Captivate.  In order to test the project, I have to publish it and edit the Project.js content to remove all of the cpCmndResume = 1 commands.  I have a navBar that pauses slides via a JavaScript call and the cpCmndResume = 1 kills the functionality of that completely.  I have other nav buttons that get disabled when the slide is paused, so when they get clicked, they don't do anything, but the movie gets resumed because of the cpCmndResume = 1 in the Project.js after the JavaScript call.  Any ideas or suggestions to fix this issue?

    I think you need to remember that the HTML5 output from Captivate 6 has been designed for people that do NOT want to fiddle with the JS code after publishing.  It's targeted at non-programmers.
    So if you've customised certain output components (e.g. playbars or navigation) and now find that things are not working as you like, the cause is most likely going to be something that you've modified away from the standard setup.
    It would be virtually impossible for Adobe to know in advance (and cater to) all of the possible wayts that programmers might want to hack their default output.  So, although you are by all means free to ask if they will help you with this issue, please understand that they may not wish to encourage this avenue all that much, as it could open up a whole can of worms for them.

    Hi
    We are looking for a software which converts SWF to MP4, we found many software which does the job but issue is file size is not optimize.
      We found Adobe captivate 6 which gives optimum quality with good output but thing is we do not have batch process in captivate 6. so we request you to create a plugin or give a best option which have batch render quality and optimize in file size,

    Captivate is e-learning development software not a dedicated video convertor, you are better off trying something like Adobe Media Encoder or Super.

  • HTML5 Output for Adobe Captivate 6

    Hi,
    I really need some Help. I am making a static widget in captivate 6 to where it could also access the system variables in captivate (Like cpCmndPause, cpCmndExit and etc.) using Actionscript 3.0. Now, It is for the swf Output. I am making for swf Output and as well as Html5 Output. I made Successfully the Static Widget for the swf Output and my Problem is how I could Make this in HTML5 Output. I did make a .wdgt file to where it contain the swf directory and html5 directory, And I would like to know if How I could make/access the same system variables in captivate, and I think it would be through javascript right?. I really need your Help on how to do this.
    Is this available for the Html5 Output in Captivate? really need your Help. Thank  you.

    Do you have some links or example how to access those system variables in captivate (for HTML5 version)? I've doing this for almost one week but I didn't see any solutions forthis. I am making a new customized widget that could control the captivate commands like cpCmndPause,cpCmndNextSlide and other captivate commands. I'm making the .wdgt file in captivate so that it would support for both swf and html5 output. Thank you for your Help.

  • Audio Not Working in Captivate HTML5 Output

    Does anyone have difficulty with HTML5 audio playing? Specifically, slide audio does not play after a Random Question slide.
    To duplicate the issue:
    1. create a new Captivate 7 (or 8!) project
    2. insert 2 blank slides, each with Slide Audio
    3. Create a question pool with 2 multiple choice questions and insert a Random Question slide between the 2 previously created Blank slides
    When playing in HTML5 from the start (F11), the second background audio does play (is muted). Is there a workaround I can try? We need both: slide audio and random questions.
    Thank you.

    For those having this difficulty:
    I think I've found a workaround for this issue. I’m finding when audio is placed on each question slide in the pool, the audio on subsequent slides play. The audio on the question slides has to be different from audio used on non-question slides (but all the question slides can use the same audio). Also, the question slide audio can be a very short and silent piece of audio, so nothing is heard on the question slide itself.

  • What is the best video format for streaming video in Captivate 6 for html5 output?

    I'm guessing it's h.264 mp4, but I haven't been able to get it to stream. Can you stream mp4s from Amazon S3?

    Hi Rod,
    That link is from the Captivate help file:
    You could also find this documented in the help file link:
    http://helpx.adobe.com/pdf/captivate_reference.pdf
    Look under the topic "Unsupported objects in HTML5 output".

  • Editing html5 output from Captivate 6 or 7

    Is there an html5 editor that could be used to edit the html5 output from Captivate?

    Hi Jay
    HTML is just text. So there is no "magic mix" that is needed because it's HTML5. Windows Notepad could be used.
    Unless, of course, you are looking for an editor that will provide code snippets and whatnot that you could use.
    Cheers... Rick
