  • Archived versions with Captivate subscription?

    Hi there. For those of you who have a Captivate subscription -   Can you tell me if the subscription to Captivate allows access to older versions of Captivate? I saw in the description of the Creative Cloud that archived versions will be available of some programs. Is Captivate one of the programs for which archived versions are available?
    My team's responsibilities include authoring tool support for Captivate.  The people we support do not all use the same version of the authoring tool. That means that we sometimes need to have access to multiple versions so we can troubleshoot.
    For example, right now we have colleagues using versions 5 and 6 of Captivate, and undoubtedly soon version 7 will also be used.
    I’m not asking if the features of previous versions will be available in Captivate 7. I am asking if the older versions themselves will be accessible. I say this because I tried asking an Adobe Rep about this during a chat and she kept repeating that the features of previous versions would be available in version 7. That's great, but doesn't help me when I need to assist somebody who only have version 5.

    Thanks Rod. Wow, that's a lot of versions of Captivate on one machine! I currently have Captivate 4 and 5 on my machine, so I understand that they can be run together.
    But what I was wondering is if the subscription to Captivate allows access to older versions or just the latest version. For example, I don't have Captivate 6 yet and the subscription starts at Captivate 7. Would the subscription allow me access to an archived version of Captivate 6 as well, or would I have to buy that separately?

    I keep getting emails saying you reactivated my captivate subscription after I have specifically turned off auto renewal, I'm trying to cancel! I want to make sure that I'm not billed after it expires.

  • How do I access my Captivate Subscription Edition?

    I bought the Captivate Subscription Edition but for the life of me I can't figure out where to go to start using it. I tried accessing it through the Creative Cloud interface, but it doesn't seem to be listed there.
    I already received a welcome email confirming the purchase and billing. I just can't find a link anywhere that lets me log in and start using it.

    Nevermind. Turns out I was supposed to download the trial, which I guess automatically upgrades into the full version.

  • Subscribing to Captivate Subscription Edition

    I subscribed to Captivate Subscription Edition and I received an email of confirmation on 30 december but I don't have a serial number to complete installation.

    Beware, I'm only a user, not from Adobe. But I believe you don't need a registration number. Install Captivate, and when activating with your Adobe ID, your subscription will be detected.

  • Captivate Subscription - Doesn't seem to be able to verify my paid subscription

    This one might be beyond the technical expertise of the community at large, but I will give it a shot.
    My 5.5 and 6 subscriptions worked fine in the past, but 7 just doesn't seem to be able to see that I have a paid subscription. Here is what has transpired so far ...
    I was a beta tester with Captivate 7 and had the normal trial count down in that beta.
    Captivate officially launched before the beta trial expired.
    I uninstalled the beta and downloaded and installed the official Captivate 7 version. I kept my order ordered active for my month by month Cativate 6.
    When I started using the new full version of 7, it opened each time in trial version mode with the countdown picking up from where I left off in the beta version. When I clicked I the option to register it took me to a seriel number page. The Captivate team and Adobe tech support had me download and install Captivate 7 multiple times without a change.  During the week the team was helping with the serial number loop, on my own I had the idea that maybe if I just make a new order of a monthly subscription that might kick it in. It didn't work. THe team broke me out of the serial number loop by having me rename a file so it could be rebuilt.
    With the serial number loop gone, I went to cancel my Captivate 6 and 7 month to month orders and kept the year commitment one.
    Now I get a message that says "Subsription Expired. Unable to connect to the internet. Plaes check your connection settings and chose Try Again." Then a bit lower in the same message box it says "Your subscription for Adobe Captivate 7.0 has expired. Go to the Subscription Manager to renew your subscription ..." There is a count down and I am at about day 16 or so now. It will stop working at 0 I assume.
    My internet has been up and down for the last 6 weeks due to my ISP overselling their bandwidth which I mention in case that may be playing a part in the problem. I have contacted Adobe support and verified with them that my account is indeed paid and active. Then they transferred me to tech support and they had me reinstall the new Creative Cloud interface that runs in the system tray. That seemed to work, so I signed out of tech support. Next morining the message popped up again, so I guess that fix wasn't a fix after all. It was just the message took too long to pop up to accurately confirm the fix.
    At the Drag and Drop Extravaganza seminar, someone said they had some issues because they had two Adobe IDs and their fix was to get the subscription all to one. As far as I can tell I have only one Adobe ID, but I am not entirely sure how to be 100% certain. She said she didn't know she had two IDs before the problem. If anyone knows how I can be sure. let me know.
    OK, so you are all caught up. Any ideas what I should try next? Anyone else have this issue and get a fix for it?

    I had a subscription for Adobe Captivate for almost two years.  I fulfilled my 12-month requirement, and paid my monthly subscription price for another 10 months after that. 
    About 6 months ago now, I canceled my subscription. 
    Question:  Is there a way to simply reactive my subscription?

  • Media Encoder Update for Captivate Subscription

    I see news that Adobe Media Encoder CC (7.2) is now available.

    When I check for updates within Media Encoder CS6 (version 6.0.3.1) that came with my Captivate 7 subscription it says there are no updates available, same case within Captivate 7 itself.
    Should I use the update from the URL above or wait until it is enabled within Media Encoder or Captivate?  I am assuming there would be an update.

    Yes the updated version of Adobe Media encoder which gets packaged along with Adobe Captivate is CS6 (6.0.3.1) .
    The link which you have shared is  for Media Encoder cc version which gets installed along with cc appliations.
    You will be able to install from the above link which you have shared with me if you have installed Media Encoder as a part of CC applications

  • Spending money for Captivate subscription but never ended up using it.  Help!

    I do not recall agreeing to renew my subscription for an additional year, why is this happening? As I mentioned, sadly (and stupidly), I have not gotten to learn/use Captivate at all. I got too busy with other stuff, but was locked into a one-year subscription commitment for Captivate 7 
    I don't want to be on the hook for a second year, though.  I thought my last payment was in May then I was done.  I certainly don't want to pay any more money for an app I've never used!  Can I just switch off the auto renewal?  If I've paid past my initial subscription, am I entitled to a refund, or am I too inattentive to have cancelled in time?
    Uggggh - I HATE these things defaulting to auto-renewal!

    I am considering the purchase of E-learning suite mode subscription.
    I wanted to know when the subscription expires projects generated by captivate due in the same way as the demo version of Captivate?
    Or actually signing provides a complete product, so the projects can then be used for ever?

    Projects created using subscription will not face expiration issues.

  • Captivate purchase v. Captivate subscription

    I need clarification before I purchase/subscribe to Captivate.
    If my clients (a company who's IT dept will not allow a subscription plan) purchase Captivate 7 and I purchase the subscription for Captivate 7.  What type of compatibility issues am I looking at?  Since Captivate seems to be the only Adobe prodcut that is not backwards compatible (which is dumb) will this cause me issues moving files back and forth?

    There is no difference in term of feature between Captivate purchase(Perpetual) and subscription .
    They are the two different options provided from Adobe by which you can purchase Captivate .
    Purchase (Perpetual) : US$899.00
    Subscription (you will be charged monthly) : US$19.99
    The advantage you get in subscription is that you will get upgraded automatically if in case any new version of Captivate comes in market but if you purchase perpetual license for Captivate then you might need to pay the upgrade price to get upgraded to the newer version

    After I downloaded the Program from Adobe 'Captivate' Unzipped, no Icon came up for me to install the program.  All I received was the one for Adobie Creative Cloud.  I am on Windows 7 64 bit. Where is the installer?
