Captivate 8 browser issue with HTML 5 published course

Hi, I'm troubleshoot a new issue. I have published a responsive course in HTML 5 and posted it to our LMS. The course played fine last week in Chrome but now seems to have a few issues. I wanted to know if anyone had any ideas if it's a browser compatibility issue or possible more to-do with the course publish settings. The course doesn't automatically play anymore. I have to click play on the playbar to start the course, the videos are slower, and the click boxes are not clickable.

    I'm having the same issue. I've been able to work around it by opening the txt file and copying the contents. Then I open a new file in Sublime Text 2, paste the contents and save the new file as "project.json". It seems to work, but it'd been nice if I didn't have to do this everytime I publish a new project.

    I am using the FCKeditor in my application to allow endusers
    the ability to create formated text on reports. We curently are
    experiencing 2 issues: 1. If you copy and paste from MS Word
    2003/2007 it will not display the text correclty in the report; 2.
    If you use the FCKeditor toolbar to insert bullets or a numeric
    list it will not align the text correctly on the report. We are
    using Coldfusion 8 with Hotfix 1 and Coldfusion Report Builder's
    lastest build release.
    Has one experiences this same issue with HTML fields not
    printing correctly using the Report Builder? What other HTML
    editors besides FCKeditor might we use?

    Of course, if it's not acceptable to remove the HTML tag from your database fields, you could develop a procedure that would translate your HTML tags to the good formatting (eurk... ;-)

  • Captivate 8 Issue with IOS Safari

    Hi I'm new on here and have been searching for a resolution to a HTML5 issue.  I published a course in both Flash and HTML5.  Flash works great, but when I access the LMS and it launches the HTML5 version for mobile I get different issues.  I've tried both SCORM 1.2 and 2004, but same issue. 
    The course is very simple and provides users reference information through user directed clicking.  There are a few voiceovers, but no effects and no quizing.
    In Iphone6 it goes through a few screens and then freezes up and must reload(not always same screen).
    In iPad-mini it freezes up on first or second click(regardless of screen) and must reload.  It's like it's timing out or something.
    Any help would be appreciated.  I saw somewhere about turning off clicks sounds.  Don't know if that could be it, but I can try.

    I have been trying to work on this issue, but I haven't made much progress
    Breaking up the project into several small chunks seemed to help for the iPad, but it's not ideal.
    I'm seriously struggling with Android tablets though.  Android doesn't support flash anymore, as HTML5 is the "future". Google Chrome on Android tablets has problems with synchronizing animations and sounds cutting out (works fine on a desktop or notebook).  FireFox on Android didn't have the sync or sound issues, but it crashes at random times. I think the root cause behind all this is HTML5 and the browser.  I couldn't figure out the difference between chrome on desktops and notebooks -vs- tablets.  I went to html5test.com and compared the two browsers, and there is definitely a difference between the two browsers.
    When you look at authoring alternatives to Captivate, it seems like their customers are having similar issues.
    I'm still looking for a workaround.  I'll let you know if I find anything

  • Issues with BI publisher report in dashboard

    Hello all,
    I got some issues about BI publisher reports in a dashboard.
    I use a dashboard prompt in combination with a BIP report.
    1.) I don't want to see the publisher control bar in my dashboard. Now you can't view the report anymore after using the dashboard prompt. Because it says you have to press the view button which is on the publisher control bar.
    So when I add the bar. Then I have first to press on go in the dashboard prompt and after that I have to press on view in the publisher control bar.
    2.) When I open my dashboard I see a scroll bar in my BIP report. Now when I use the dashboard prompt, it disappears. So I can't view the entire report anymore
    3.) I like to develop in english, but the test must be in dutch. Now I have a english dashboard with a dutch control bar. Also logging in to BIP in english and then navigating to analytics will not help.
    4.) I can't use I-bots on BI publisher reports, or can I?
    5.) This is not really an issue, but more like a problem but I want that users can view the BIP report on the dashboard only in HTML, but I want that they only can export to excel, is this possible?

    Thanks for your quick respond.
    1.) Auto Run is enabled. And the report runs automatically as well. But then it ignores the dashboard prompt (as a regular report would do as well). But when I choose some values in the prompt and then press go. Then it says I have to press on view as well.
    2.) no that is not the case. My report is so big that it always need a scroll bar ;) also adjusting the size settings in the dashboard doesn't help. The only occurs when viewing in HTML, when previewing in excel or RTF it all just work fine.
    3.) true, but ow well this is the least importetant one ;) so if this doesn't work, than it doesn't work ;)
    4.) Ok, I will have a look on that.
    5.) I did enabled HTML and EXCEL outputs in my BIP report. But when the first point is working, then I don't want to see the control bar anymore and I want to have the output on the dashboard in HTML and then I want to build a button, or a link or something that exports the request to excel. Is that possible?

  • Issue with HTML tags visible in Outlook emails

    Hi everyone, I'm having an issue with a website I'm working on.
    On our site, we have a page that generates emails after certain events occur. These are sent to a forwarding address on our mail server, which is then sent to several users on our mail server. These users have their accounts set up in Outlook (one in 2007,
    one in Mac 2011).
    We're are having an issue where these emails are displaying in Outlook with all of the HTML tags in the email visible. One of the users spoke to Microsoft support, and they remoted in and went through their Outlook settings and were not able to find any issues
    there.
    This issue is not global exactly. When one of the users added their email to their iPhone, the email displayed correctly. We added a Gmail account and my work account (which I also access through Outlook) to the forwarding list, and it displayed correctly in
    both. When we view these emails in the server's webmail client, the emails display fine. The issue seems to be with some discrepancy between Outlook and our email server.
    I spoke to our webhost about the issue, and they swore up and down the issue had nothing to do with them, and that it had to be an Outlook issue. I've had several professional web developers analyze the code that creates these emails, and they found nothing
    wrong with it. Something that several of my colleagues and our webhost suggested is that the issue could be with the email headers. This is the header for the email, as viewed through Outlook:

  • IE Scolling/Lag issues with IWeb Published Site

    Has anyone had any issues with scrolling/lag with Internet Explorer on an iWeb published site? I have a site that runs great on Firefox and safari but terrible on Internet Explorer. I'm thinking it may be the template/design i used?
    Anyone every seen this? Any suggestions?

    I've only ever used the Modern Frame, so I can't say if there would be a performance issue using a different template. I have about three pictures on each page.
    I noticed on your site that you're using the "reflection" effect on some of your pictures. Just for the purpose of testing, perhaps you could try turning off that effect and then re-uploading your site to see if that is causing some of the problem? I believe the reflection is rendered using javascript code, which may be causing the poor performance in IE. If that does turn out to be the problem, you can decide whether it's worth it to keep the effect or not.
    By the way, I don't get that same error message in IE when I open your Videos page. Maybe it's caused by a security setting in your IE being set at a more restrictive level?

    Has anyone out there installed BI Publisher 10.1.3.2.1 standalone into Oracle AS 10.1.3.2.0 successfully? I'm having issues with the install. Already posted an SR (6335471.992), but the progress is slow. If anyone else has done this successfully, can you share your experience?
    I know this is an E-Business-Suite-centric forum, but I couldn't find another BI Publisher forum. If there is a more appropriate forum for standalone BI Publisher issues, please direct me there.

    Thanks for your reply. I did try a manual install, but had the same problem as installing via OUI. My installs have been hanging on this command:

    I may be encountering a platform-specific issue (I'm running AMD64 64-bit hardware, RHEL 4.4 x86-64 Linux OS). The Oracle install docs say that I have to install the Linux-x86 (32-bit) port of Oracle AS 10.1.3.2.0, and prefix all of the runtime commands with "linux32 bash ", so they run in a pseudo-32-bit environment.
    Do you apply any patches on top of Oracle AS 10.1.3.2.0 before you install BI Publisher 10.1.3.2.x? I just did a fresh install of Oracle AS 10.1.3.2.0, and then a fresh install of BI Publisher 10.1.3.2.1 on top of that. The BI Publisher 10.1.3.2.1 install hangs at the aforementioned place.

  • Issue with schema publishing after installing Universal Records Management

    Installing URM over Content Server has been by far the most random experience I've had so far with any technology... Out of 6 installation attemts of URM, only 1 has been entirely successful.... with no errors.... the rest have errors that makes it impossible to work with the product... The funny thing is that the installation is nothing more than the installation of two components via Component Manager, with a few non-important options in the middle that have always been set to the same value...
    First of all, in the installation guide of URM there are no mentions of required avaliable space in the Database Tablespace (idc_system) and in about half of our attempts (yes the other half didn't generate issues with this...) the 300Mb Tablespace filled up and caused the installation to pause until I added another datafile to that tablespace.
    Secondly, the error that is a constant present in all failed installations is this one:

    This error appears immediatly at the end of the server's first startup, just after all database changes are done upon installing URM. This last attempt I actually went to check the Content Server logs before I tried to login to the instance just to be sure that I wasn't responsible in any way for creating this error, and as I expected it was already there, since this relation is created by one of the Records components.... This error is a product of the URM installation itself and makes it impossible to run any Check-Ins or searches, due to the non-working relation causing Javascript errors which don't allow the forms to load values into any drop-down lists...
    We also register every "move" we make during installations, and as we reviewed what we did we feel we did exactly the same steps (it's not that hard in a one-click installation process...), why only ONE of the installations went okay we're entirely clueless about.... What we do know is that we seriously need this issue fixed, not only is it costing us a ridiculous ammount of time in "attempts" but come on.. this issue shouldn't really exist in a public release... unless we're the only ones being affected by it?
    On a side note, the URM installation was done over a "fresh" component-clean installation of Content Server, so there was nothing of our own custom components that could interact incorrectly with a component of the URM installation.

    you should issue a support ticket yourself and get a SR number... that's probably faster than going through the sales guy.
    I'd suggest turning on the "schema" trace section, make it verbose, and restart. You may need to disable all component (including URM) before doing this.
    Something is wrong with the "MediaTypes_View" definition file, which is here somewhere:
    contentserver/data/schema/views/
    just not sure what...

  • 2 Formatting issues with HTML forms

    I have a couple of issues that we can't seem to get past with adobe livecycle designer 7.0. We have an internal form, rendered in HTML, that is emailed between departments, and the data entered is stored in an XML file that is created using the code similar to the following:

    When we use a numeric field and try to format it with any display pattern containing dollar signs, decimals, etc... the xml data for that field isn't being written to the xml file. All of the other fields are being written properly.
    The next issue we're having is that with HTML forms, when we create a multiline text field we are unable to limit the number of characters that are allowed in the field.
    I'm pretty new with this, so please send some advice my way if you have any.

  • Captivate 5 - issue with editing imported PowerPoints that have been resized

    I'm having an issue with editing PowerPoint files that have been imported into Captivate 5 when they have been resized within the Captivate project after the initial import.
    1. I import a PowerPoint presentation into 800x600 dimension.
    2. I resize the project to 900x600 by not locking the aspect ratio and selecting to position to the top right so there is a 100 pixel strip to the left of the slide that we use for navigation buttons and other info.
    3. If I need to make a change to a PowerPoint, I select Edit > Edit with Microsoft PowerPoint > Edit Slide (or Edit Presentation).
    4. The slide opens in PowerPoint and I make the changes and click Save.
    5. When the slide is imported back into Captivate, it is stretched and resized to not fit either 800x600 or 900x600, but something in between. This did not happen in Captivate 4 - the slide would retain the 800x600 dimension slid over to the right with no issues.
    Are there any settings that can be done to ensure the edited slides will import back into the project with the correctly sized dimensions for the current project?

    I agree that it would be nice to see a notification. You know, Captivate offers a special area for notifications that appear when you open it. I'm stymied as to why Adobe doesn't use this area for making such announcements.

  • Captivate 8 - Issues with correct recording of Software Simulations in monitor 2 (of 2)?

    I've been recording Software Simulations in monitor 2 (screen 2 of 2) and an application in monitor 2 to produce automatic demo, assessment and training output. It should be possible but the system doesn't capture all recordable actions (the result is 1 slide for each of demo, assessment and training versions with the ‘final’ screen view and one mouse movement). However if I shift my recording area to screen 1 (i.e. monitor 1) there are no issues. It can be worked around, however is there some other set-up option I'm overlooking?

    Thank you so much for posting your question. I would have never stopped to think that which screen I was trying to record might make a difference. I was having huge issues with a software simulation not capturing all the necessary screen changes (on Monitor 2), but after reading your post, I moved it to Monitor 1, and it's working as it should again.
    You just saved me lots of frustration.

  • Browser issues with Silverlight

    I've been trying to sort this for ages, but with no luck.
    If I run BTSport in Chrome or Firefox, everything is generally ok, but the video frame rate seems slightly off. The picture is ever so slightly jerky.
    In IE10 the video is smooth as silk, but the sound is a terrifying mess. The first quarter second or so of the video's sound is looped ad infinitum.
    At the moment my work around is to run two streams, one in chrome, minimised, but with the sound on, the other in IE, for a smooth picture. Obviously that's not ideal as the two aren't exactly synced, but I can live with it for football.
    Does anyone have any suggestions for smoothing the video in Chrome, or fixing the sound fault in IE10?
    For info, I'm running a Haswell Core i7 with 16GB of RAM so it's not a performance issue with the hardware. The sound fault occurs whether I use the onboard Realtek sound, or HDMI sount out into my AV Amp (via my GTX680 GPU) and when I use a USB connected external FiiO DAC, so I don't think it's sound driver or hardware related.
    Chrome, Firefox and Silverlight have all been reinstalled and are at their latest versions. There is no other audio 'enhancement' software running, and I have tried disabled enhancements in control panel for all three audio options.
    So I'm pretty stuck (and hating Silverlight).
    For info, the exact same problems occur when using other Silverlight videos.

    I just checked my IE and I find I'm running IE 11 on Windows 7. You're right - it runs BT Sport a lot smoother than Chrome or Firefox, thanks for the tip.

    I am new to learning solution. Here is our problem, I have configure a WebDAV repository in KM, and fill the informations into SPRO.
    When I open the iview "Publish Course Content", and try to select a source file in reposiory, I can see no directory or files in the true of "View of Master Index" . when I tried to open the tree, their is an excpetion "SoapFaultCode:1".
    I have tried to test the "CO_LSO_CPT_REPOSITORY_SERVICE" in ecc, the method runs OK.
    Anyone knows where the problem is? Thank you very much!
