Captivate 8 drag and drop show result. Javascript possible?

Hello, I am new to Captivate. I have created a D&D slide which gives a user 3 attempts at the slide. If the result is a fail, on the last fail the correct answer appears next to the answer the user submitted. This is displayed in red writing.
I don't know if this is possible, but I would like the incorrect answer to be displayed in red and the correct answer to have a green tick next to it. Would this be possible to code in JavaScript? If so could anyone point me in the right direction as to how I might achieve this?
Thanks in advance.

  • Drag and drop operation resulted in files gone missing

I would really appreciate some help as I have lost about 80 files. Here's what happened: I had a big folder of several hundred files and I was moving those files– photographs – into subfolders.I selected the photo in bridge and then used a drag and drop method to move it. It all went well except in two instances. One group of photos I dragged it to the wrong folder but when I searched I found them. Another group has gone missing. I have searched the whole computer for names of some of the photos in the missing group.it is as if they vanished into thin air. What could have possibly happened?
    Thanks in advance!

I selected the photo in bridge and then used a drag and drop method to move it. It all went well except in two instances.
I always use the drag and drop method and if it goes wrong I usually are to fast and don't wait for Bridge to have completed or I did not point to the correct folder.
Without knowing what system you are on and what version of bridge you are using I agree with Curt that the files must be somewhere on your system (also check the Bin) and you better use a dedicated system search for it.
And what is "group.it"? If I do a google search it stops without result and group.it also has not understandable  or related results?

  • Captivate Drag and Drop Functionality

Please could someone confirm when Captivate will ship with drag and drop functionality as standard rather than as an extension only available to subscription or ASA users?
    Thanks.

Adobe doesn't usually give any advance confirmation dates for when they will ship a new product version or patch.

  • Is it possible to make a graph with drag and drop plots and use it as a control?

I am trying to make a graph with multippel plots to use as a control, the plots should be drag and drop. Is this possible in LV 7.0 or do i have to use c++ or WB?

I second Doc-Doc comment. I am not sure what you are asking.
The attached is an example I found on the NI web-site some time ago. I cannot find the link again so here is a ZIP of what I found in a temp folder on my machine.

  • Infosemantics Drag and Drop Interactive widget

I’ve added the Infosemantics Drag and Drop Interactive widget to my project, but it only works after publishing via a computer and not on an iPad.  I published using both SWF and HTML5 so it “should” work. The HTML tracker for that slide does not list any unsupported slides or objects.  If this widget is not compatible with the iPad, is the new Captivate drag and drop feature available for Subscription and ASA customers work on an iPad?  If so, is there a student rate for either a Subscription or ASA? Thanks so much.

The drag&drop wizard in 6.1 is easy to use, but doesn't have all the functionality that you find in the InfoSemantics Interactive widget. Just want to warn you. I am using both: for simple Drag&Drop I'll use the wizard, but as an example to create a custom matching or sequence question slide I need InfoSemantics widget, that is not possible with the 6.1 D&D.

  • Drag and Drop to Forms

    Hi OraTechies,
Can anyone give some insight to my problem.
The apps is written with Forms 6.0 and deploy in client server architecture. Soon, to be web enabled.
In production, a user constantly complain about lost data. We found out he was dragging text/data from MS-Word document and dropping to a field in a multi-record forms. When record is saved and re-queried the data is not there.
The drag and drop shows the data is being copied to the field. If the record is cleared without saving, the dragged over text is "hovering" over the field. It looks like Windows just repainted the display and nothing else.
    Comments, suggestions or solutions anyone?
    Cheers,
    AC-NZ

    Francois,
I have tried to implement this bean but I'm having problems. I've been using your
LAF package for almost 4 years now without issue. I tried the jar file from the zip
file. I also created a new project and recompiled the java code against the 10.1.2.3
frmall.jar file that matches our app server. I resigned it and it's still not working.
Maybe I'm just missing something simple. When I compile and run the form, I see
the canvas and I can change the text fields, but I don't see how I can drag and
drop items. Hopefully, you can think of something that can fix our problem. I would
love to be able to use drag and drop functionality in an upcoming application.
    We're running the following versions:
    App Server: 10.1.2.3
    DB: 10.2.0.5
    JDev: 10.1.3.3.0
    Windows XP for the clients
Windows Server 2008 for the servers
    Thanks,
    Jason
Edit: I looked in my java console and saw that my issue was that we signed this jar file with a different certificate. I created a special config as Francois has suggested in another post and included only the DnD.jar file and it worked. However, I can't get the image or multi-line text areas to drag and drop. I'll keep poking around and see if I can figure out what's going on. The console seems to recognize when I'm dragging and dropping from all fields.

  • Implementing Drag and Drop

I would buy this product if the ajax features somehow
supported the implementaion of drag and drop in a way that was
    simple to use.
I am dabbling in vb.net/asp.net and its version of ajax
tools. The support for drag and drop are not all that good at this
    time.
I have even bought a book that had a chapter on it. It still
takes too much java hand written code to impliment it.
I also own dreamweaver MX. I use this product to do all my
web sites. They all are home stuff and fun stuff. My wife wants her
site to have the user be able to grab an object and drop it on a
specific location and have an event occur. In her case she wants an
    animated GIF to fire.
I have turned to vb.net because i am a programmer and use
vb.net for application development. But!!! i am excited about DW
    cs3. So my question is!!
Does DW CS3 Ajax tools provide a somewhat easy way to
impliment drag and drop without me having to write to much Java by
    hand?
    Thanx up front

Drag and Drop interfaces in javascript are nothing simple.
    Don't expect any
magic wizards to help you with this.
There are a lot of AJAX/JS libraries. Many have DnD featuers,
    but they'll
differ from library to library. you're going ot have to do a
    lot of legwork
and takea look at them all.
I've used Scriptaculous in the past, but have found it
    limiting. I'm going
to be looking at Jquery UI next.
    > Does DW CS3 Ajax tools provide a somewhat easy way to

Java is not involved. JAVASCRIPT is.
DW does not do .net, so you you're going to do .net, you
    should look at
Visual Studio as your main development IDE.

  • Possible Bug with Drag-and-Drop Being Published via HTML5 - Getting "Undefined" Error When Dragging Object

    Hello,
I came up with a way to use drag-and-drop interactions that will take advantage of file input so that I may create a drag-and-drop interaction that uses one draggable object over and over allowing multiple scoring/tracking possibilities.  Example use...is having the draggable object be dynamic in that it randomly changes its text so that a learner can drag a term it's possible classification.........thus allowing the possibility of having many terms easily loaded without having to redo a drag-and-drop interaction for each needed terms/classifications updates/changes.
My Issue: When using a variable to represent the text for a draggable Smart Shape object, I'm getting the error message "undefined" when, clicking/pressing on the object, as well as during the drag of the object. This issue occurs when publishing the project in an HTML5 format.  Flash interestingly enough seems to work perfect...but we are not interested in publishing via Flash any longer.
To better help you explore this error message, I've set up a test project so that you can see when and how the "undefined" message shows up during a drag-and-drop interaction.  I've also included the Captivate 8 project file used to make the exploration project I'm sharing in this post.
Link to Captivate project I created for you all to explore "undefined" error message": http://iti.cscc.edu/drag_and_drop_bug/
Link to this Captivate 8 Project file: http://iti.cscc.edu/drag_and_drop_bug.cptx
It's pretty interesting how things react in this demo, please try the following actions to see some interesting happenings:
Drag the Yellow (or variable drag box) to the drag target.
Drag Black Hello square to Drag target and click undo or reset - watch the undefined message come up on the Yellow (or variable drag box).
Drag the Yellow (or variable drag box) to the drag target and then use the undo or reset.
Move both draggable boxes to the drag target and use the undo and reset buttons...
Anyhow, I know you all are sharp and will run the demo through its paces.
I'd really be very honored if anyone help me figure out how I could (when publishing out to HTML5) no longer have the "undefined" error message show up when using drag-and-drop with a variable for shape text. This technique has been well received at the college I work at...and I have many future project requests for using such an idea on a variety of similar interactions. I'd love see a solution or see if this might be a bug Adobe may be able to fix!
I tried to find a solution to the issue documented here for quite some time, but I was not able to find anyone with this problem much less attempting the idea I'm sharing in the help request -  save the darn "undefined" message that comes up!
Many thanks in advance for any help and/or direction that you all may be able to provide,
    Paul

    Hello,
I just wanted to supply a minor update related to my drag-and-drop question/issue stated above:
I did another test using Captivate 7, and found that the undefined error (publishing as HTML5) does not appear and the variable data remains visible - except the variable data turns very small and does not honor any font size related settings.
I did go ahead and submit this to Adobe as a possible bug today.
Thanks again for any help related to this issue.  If the issued documented above is solved, it will allow many amazing things to be done using Captivate's drag-and-drop for both regular type projects as well as interaction development for iBooks!
Matter of fact if this issue gets fixed, I'll publish a Blog entry (or video) on way's I've used Captivate's drag-and-drop to create dynamic learning activities for Higher Ed. and for use in iBooks.

  • Drag and Drop as an Assessment in Captivate 7

    Hello-
I am having an extreme amount of difficulty when it comes to using this function in Captivate 7. The following is a list of questions that I cannot seem to find the answer to anywhere online.
After assigning the answers (as in which box gets dragged to the other), I saw that even though I have 5 separate boxes and therefore 5 separate answers, the quiz results only count this entire drag and drop as one answer. How do I set it so that each drag and drop within the slide is an individual point to add up to a total of 5 points?
I am very confused as to how to set up the failure box-I only want it to show up when people go back to review their quiz. I also have this problem with all other quizzes, as well as the "review area" box.
If someone, or multiple people, could please answer these, and not just link to another page with the answers, I would greatly appreciate it! Thank you!
    Nat

  • Captivate 8 Drag and Drop

I am looking for a solution and came across this unanswered question:
"For the drag and drop actions in Captivate 8, is there a way to indicate wrong answers on submit?  Or, is there a way to only reset incorrect answers on reset? (I know this wasn't an available option on earlier versions.) I am trying to indicate when one drag source to drag target connection was incorrectly made by using a smart shape to highlight the drop target.  I am unsure of how to create an advanced action to make this display only when the answer is incorrect, (as well as for other incorrect targets).  Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated."
Any insight on this?  I work with wounded veterans, many of them with TBIs, and would like to include this in the activities I am creating.
    Thank you!

You need to use the object actions, which are triggered when a drag source is dropped on a target.  Those actions can populate user variables, perhaps Booleans (only value 0 or 1 possible): set the variable to 0 if wrong drop action, set it to 1 for correct action. Then you'll have to create a conditional action to be fired by the Submit button. That action should check the value of each variable and show previously hidden checkmarks or highlights for the incorrect answers.
There is no way to only reset incorrect answers.

  • Captivate 7 Drag And Drop

    Hello All,
I have been playing with Drag And Drop and was trying to set a question up where I had 10 drag-able items which had 6 correct answers. What I was wondering is there was a way to allow multiple attempts to drag the correct answers while having feedback let the user know how many they currently have correct.
Is that possible? Of do we have to set each answer up to report as correct choice as they drop them into the drop-zone? I have a sample set up where I can continually drag and drop items into the answer area, but it will only tell me I am wrong, it wont tell me how many correct items I have placed.
I hope I have made sense.
    Any insight would be great.
    Thanks a bunch.
    jpm

    Hi there,
You can achieve this in Captivate 7 by enabling the following settings,
    1. Select all the 10 Drag source objects and mark them as Sources, mark target as well.
    2. Create a 'Custom Type' called 'Correct answers’; mark all the 6 correct sources as the type 'Correct Answers'.
    3. Create a Correct answer link between 'Correct Answers' to target with the count 6. (You can do it either on stage or can do it in the Correct Answers' dialog).
    4. Enable 'Redrag the dropped source option' from 'Drag and Drop>Interaction Properties' accordion (This setting allows to Drag out the dropped source)
    5. De select 'Send Drag source to original position’ from  'Drag And Drop>Interaction Properties' accordion (This setting allows to place the dragged out source anywhere on stage)
    6. Enable 'Auto Submit Correct Answers' option from  'Drag And Drop>Options' accordion. (This settings allows to auto submit the answers whenever the user places all the 6 correct sources correctly on target)
    7. Insert Text caption on stage, Uncheck 'Visible in Output' option.
    8.  Set on Success action for the interaction as  Show> Text caption inserted in Step 7. (On success action gets executed 'On drop' of the 6th correct source' and shows the above inserted caption. You can modify the Caption text to give the correct feedback)
You can move the submit button out of stage in case if you don’t want the user to submit an incorrect answer.
    Hope this resolves the issue.
    Thanks,
    Nimmy Sukumaran.

  • Drag and drop flash template in Captivate

    Hi,
I'm having troubles inserting drag and drop exercises, generated through a Flash template, into Captivate as a swf. They sometimes work but the result is very instable. Here are two examples with the exact swf : one works fine and the other one doesn't display the buttons. The only difference is a blank slide in the second one...
Has anyone tried this before have any idea?

    Michael
Thanks for taking the time to check out the files.
Here's the problem : example 1 shows OK, the buttons are visible and active. These two top buttons (circled in red) are from the embedded swf file, whereas the third one in the bottom was created in Captivate. They have the same look and feel sothat users won't notice the difference.
Now, in example 2, these buttons from the swf file don't show. The Captivate button works fine.
The two swf files are basically clones, nothing has been altered exept for sounds and images. The code is from the Test template that comes with Flash. They work perfectly fine while played alone, but have this behavior where embedded in Captivate.
I have the exact same problem whatever the way I open them (Flash player, Firefox or IE 7), and my Flash player is up to date. Both the swf and the cp are AS 2.

  • Captivate 2 right-click and drag and drop in simulation

Captivate has been suggested as a suitable replacement for
Authorware since the announcement that Adobe doesn't plan to
continue with Authorware. I find myself in the position to put this
to the test. I'm in the process of recreating a course that had
been created in Authorware in a toolset comprised of Artuculate
Presenter, Articulate Quizmaker, Articulate Engage, Captivate, and
    PowerPoint.
The simulation created in Authorware has these feautures:
-learner right clicks on items on screen to see a context
menu then selects option from the context menu
-learner drags toolbar and other items on screen to another
    screen location
-learner selects item from Windows Start>>Program and
other application menus. As the learner's mouse moves over the
menu, menu options highlight and flyout menus appear even if
they're not directly involved in the simulation
-learner logs into course with an employee ID number. This
information is stored and is used in the simulation in which they
log into the system being simulated.
Can I do any of these things in Captivate?
I suspect I can simulate the flyout menus with a number of
mouse over hotspots - exactly the way it's done in Authorware.
However, I haven't found any way to do simulate the other items:
-use of drag and drop where the learner performs the action
-use of a variable value to check validity of what has been
    entered in the text field
-use of right click to advance Captivate simulation.
I'd appreciate any help you can give me. After all, I've
heard many people claim that Captivate can replace Authorware.
    Thanks
    Grace Daminato

    Hi Grace,
Captivate is indeed a replacement for Authorware, but only in
the way that an Audi is a replacement for a Ferrari. They do the
same basic job, but you need to do some after market modifications
to the Audi to level the playing field somewhat.
    1) Flyout menus are indeed possible, if you're willing to
create "rollovers" that display a picture of the expanded menu when
the user mouses over. You are limited to exposing only first-level
menus, however. Captivate does not allow for rollovers on
rollovers, except possibly via Captivate 3's Slidelet
    functionality.
***EDIT***: You can also use Paul Dewhurst's rollover widgets
to fake multi-level menu behavior. They are available from Paul's
    site here:
    http://www.raisingaimee.co.uk/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=24&Itemid=29
    2) Drag-and-drop in Captivate is currently only available as
an add-in Flash object, each of which must unfortunately be built
by hand in Flash. Adobe Community Expert Paul Dewhurst offers
source files for such interactions on his website:
    http://www.raisingaimee.co.uk/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=13&Itemid=29
    3) Captivate has built-in checking of field values, but you
are limited to hardcoded values only. If you need variable-based
input checking, you must create it yourself in Flash and insert it
    as an animation.
    4) Right-click is possible in Captivate, but must be added
manually. Captivate community contributor William Heinz has created
a nifty right-click solution for HTML/SWF publication and Paul
Dewhurst again comes to the rescue with a solution for .EXE-based
    output:
    HTML/SWF-based Output:
    http://www.adobe.com/devnet/captivate/articles/rightclick.html
    EXE-based Output:
    http://www.raisingaimee.co.uk/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=12&Itemid=29
Unfortunately, making these modifications to Captivate files
comes at a cost. First, there's the overhead of tracking down and
implementing the custom enhancements. More importantly, Captivate
has no way of "scoring" custom enhancements, so any such
interactions will not be reflected in the user's reported results.
If you're willing to live with these limitations, and a few
others, Captivate can indeed be a suitable replacement for
    Authorware.

  • Is there any way of dragging and dropping an iCal event showing in week view across to a date in the left sidebar monthly calendar?

Hi, Im not a frequent forum poster, as most of my questions can be found already answered on them!
This is a question Ive had for a long time and it amazes me that no-one else seems to ask it. I check at each OS upgrade but its never there...
Is there any way of dragging and dropping an iCal event showing in week view across to a date in the left sidebar monthly calendar?
I was able to do this years ago in MS Outlook, and utilized it all the time when I needed to push things back, now I have to open the event and select an new date in the drop-down calendar for each & every event I want to move to a new month at the end of the month.
If its definitely not possible, how to you ask apple to consider including it - it doesnt seem like a particularly difficult task.
    Thankyou
    Andrew.

    Andrew,
Is there any way of dragging and dropping an iCal event showing in week view across to a date in the left sidebar monthly calendar?
No, but you can use cut/paste. Cut (⌘X) the event, then click on the week where you want to move the event, and Paste (⌘V).
If you have a suggestion for Apple to change that method use: Apple - Mac OS X - Feedback.
