Captivate 8 - I want my slides to stop at the end and wait for a button click to advance

It works when published as HTML5, but NOT as swf.
(I have those specific slides set to pause at the end.  They contain stuff the user might want to write down.)
Instead, the swf project advances to the next slide and THEN stops.  Instead of using the forward button, the user has to use the play button on the skin.
Any help would be greatly appreciated!

I suppose you used the On Exit event to pause? In that case the SWF-behavior is normal behavior: the action occurs only after exiting the slide, so Pause will be on first frame of next slide.
Why not add a click box, time it for the rest of the slide and it will pause at the last frame. And you talk about a Forward button? Why not use the pausing of that button to pause at the last frame (or almost at the last frame)?

    I had heard that these switches didn't stack unless everything was identical.
    I only tried it at all out of pure desperation.
    I've applied and tested every version 3 firmware in standalone mode via a console cable and xmodem.
    They either never come up properly receiving decompression errors and reboot constantly in a loop.
    Occasionally they stall / jam and stay there displaying the same error with no rebooting.
    And twice out of 80-100 times I got it to boot to the username and password screen in standalone mode.
    But as soon as I made a change it crashed and started the rebooting cycle again.

  • Can "cycle" be set to stop at the end, and/or go to the start and stop there?

    Maybe I'm looking in the wrong place for this feature. I'm used to a daw that provides a method to identify a region (similar to Cycle Mode), but gives the options to do one of several things, rather than only loop that passage endlessly. Sometimes I want playback to stop at the end of the passage...and when I hit return, it will go to the beginning of the passage and stop there. Or..sometimes I want the playhead to go to the beginning of the passage and stop there, instead of continuously loop. I rarely want an endless loop of the section.
    Sometimes I don't want a region at all, I simply want to set a memory location and have the playhead go there any time I hit return, instead of go to the beginning of the sequence, or to the beginning of a cycle to start looping.

    Yeah...I've worked out an alternative, but it would be very nice if there was a feature like what I'm talking about. Basically, a start and end memory location that is multi configurable to whatever you want. It can loop, or just go back to the start location and stop. And every press of rewind takes you to the start.
    I've come up with the key command, go to left locator or right locator, and don't enable cycle mode.

  • Some of my songs on my iTunes are stopping towards the end and going to the next song. It won't play those specific songs the entire way through.

    I recently bought a MacBook Pro and transfered my entire library to my new laptop. Itunes was working fine until I started to notice that certain songs won't play the entire way through. It'll stop at like 1:43 or another random time and skip right to the next song. I know I definitely bought some of these songs off of iTunes, and I really don't want to repurchase them. I don' understand why this would even be happening because they played fine on my old computer! Is there any way I can get them to play all the way through again!?

  • Can iTunes be set to stop at the end of a track and wait for a manual play.

    I am wanting to use itunes to play sound effects in a live drama but I need to have it stop at the end of each track and wait for a manual start. It needs to be done without deselecting and selecting tracks by myself and, importantly, others who may be confused by the computer.
    If iTunes can't do this is there any other app that can, I've been looking but failed to find any apart from DJ packages which are more complicated than I would like for others to use.

    You want to have a bunch of tracks, play them in order, the first one plays then it stops and all you have to do is hit Play to continue to next track?
    This script will do it.
    Play the first track and iTunes will stop at the end and queue up the next song. Just press Play (or Spacebar) and it'll  play the second song and stop till the end of the playlist.
    No need to select any songs or do anything fancy.

    Since the computer was restored to factory, your sync preferences have been reset.  I would recommend verifying that Sync Music is selected under the device preference.  Below, this article will walk you through the process.

    This is probably me but having only got a ipod touch (32gb)and loaded up a album from itenes it stops at teh end of each track and goes back the main menu........whats the deal? and how doo I rectify the problem. I have to play each track and I cant see an option to put this tight? Any advise would be great Thanks

    Welcome to our community. The only time that Captivate 1 / 2
    should stop at the end of each slide is if you have captured your
    screens in Simulation Training, Assessment Training (possibly in
    custom mode). Capturing screens in simulation or assessment
    training mode will result in Captivate adding click boxes which
    will pause the slide until the learner has clicked inside the click
    box area and then the movie / project will advance to the next
    slide.
    If you open your Captivate project and show the Timeline do
    you see a click box object on the Timeline panel?
    If so then you can either remove each of the click boxes on
    the slides that make up your movie / project or you may prefer to
    create new Captivate file and from the Recording mode menu choosing
    Demonstration mode.
    This will then ensure that no click boxes are added to your
    Captivate movie / project.

  • Making a DVD that stops at the end

    I want to make a straight DVD that stops at the end. Is it possible to do this without using DVDSP? I have exported the files using compressor and burn them in Roxio's Toast, but they will just keep looping. I am on the verge of having to get Final Cut Studio upgrade if there is no other way to do this.
    Just to recap. I want to put one movie on one DVD without menus. I want it to play once and then the DVD to stop.

    In response to last post, I agree that setting jump at end to stop might not always work in 1.5. The full story is that most of my test discs seem to play as I wanted them in Apple's DVD player but not once imported into Toast and saved as disc image. I tried the burning disc in Finder option and this was the only way that seemed to produce the stop at end effect I required. Yet my discs were freezing and crashing in both my 3rd party DVD players and I thought this was down to me burning it using the Finder.
    I've since found out that it may be that the bitrate was too high when I encoded the video that was the reason for the crashing. It's the first time I've tried to do this seriously so I'm having to learn. It can be a bit confusing.

    When I play my project in FCP the playhead will not stop at the end but will continue for a few seconds. So when I want to share my project I have to make a range so that I don't have a black clip at the end. There's no gap or what so ever on the timeline. How can I solve this? Thanks for your answers.

    Unfortunately, the problem is not solved. When I hit the end key the playhead goes to the end. Actually one frame further. Because when I go back one frame, I get the end clip symbol in the corner. But if I just play, the palyhead goes further for a 3 seconds. Then I get the clip symbol "negative edge" on the rightside. See also image. And there is nothing in the timeline.

    Have you tried a different pair of earbuds/headphones to rule out a pair of damaged/faulty ones?  You might also want to make sure the headphones are securely and firmly seated in Nano's headphone jack.  Lastly, check the headphone jack for any signs of debris or damage.  You may need to have the headphone jack replaced either by Apple or a third party repair company.
    I assume this static is present on any track you listen to versus only particular ones?

There are too many factors involved to explain why, but my wife and I want to buy a house by the end of the year; so we're calling December 15 our deadline. As you read through our situation below, please keep the following questions in mind. I have the opportunity to use about $3000 to pay down some debt; what do I pay down, and what do I leave with a balance (and use for purchases)?Should I open a personal loan to pay off some cards and have a "new" type of loan on my credit report? Or will the added inquiry hurt more than the new line will help? I get constant offers from crap places like Prosper, but maybe with a better company...Should I refinance my NJ Class loans at a lower interest rate?Should I refinance my car loan at a lower interest rate or longer term?Should I go into repayment on the Federal student loan now so I can choose the repayment plan with the lowest monthly payment (30-year "extended" or "graduated extended") and have it show up on my credit report with a low monthly payment? Or will it not come up on my credit report as such (will it still show a high payment)?     What are your fico MORTGAGE credit scores for each mortgage applicant?I don't really want to pay to get mortgage scores now because I'm not ready to get prequalified... still paying down credit cards, so to me it's useless to get the score until my credit situation is stable. Here are free scores from credit cards and whatnot:
     Myself:Discover 6/21: 773Citi 5/26: 744Capital One 6/18: 746Mint.com 4/7: 686 (score to be updated July 7th) My Wife:Discover 6/14: 749 Based on these, and the general deviation between them and mortgage scores (<50 points?) I think I would be able to qualify for a conventional loan, skipping FHA (ugh... mortgage insurance for life?). Some low-downpayment loan programs like Fannie Mae's MyCommunityMortgage (MCM) require higher scores (especially for DU), and I do think I would have the required 680-or-so, but as I mention elsewhere in this post, I haven't found an NJ MCM lender (other than brokers). But ideally, a 3% downpayment (like MCM) and reduced (compared to FHA and conventional) MI (again, like MCM) would be ideal... Obviously, there's no guarantee that these are anywhere close to the mortgage scores, so once I feel like I've paid down my cards as far as I need to (i.e. I feel I'm ready to get pre-qualified), I'll make sure to buy the mortgage scores. I plan on staying here for many years, and am about 99.9% certain there will be no reason for that income to drop in the forseeable future. Wife:Nothing's sure, and it's very low pay. As noted above, $13k/year at the moment, but she's unhappy with both (retail... ugh) jobs, so that's not guaranteed. She's looking for a break and a decent office job, but even if she gets it, I'm pretty sure the short length of time that she'd have it before getting a loan would make the difference in income useless. I'll add here our budget: In our current situation, with about $5000/month net income ($1k from her, $4k from me), we can comfortably save $2000/month. July and October are 5-week months, so that goes up to $3000 those months. However, I'm using the $3000 surplus from this month to pay down cards. So that's $7k added to savings thru October or $9k thru November. Hypothetically, I could "skip" paying off cards (or pay down all but Discover) in order to boost up savings.

I haven't made a purchase transaction with a debit card in over a year because I get points on all my cards. So call it $0 available for moving to savings.

Location:  This is to determine govt guaranteed loan limits, what special programs might be available for you, how much property taxes & homeowners insurance will likely be, amongst other items. Central New Jersey (Somerset, Middlesex, possibly Hunterdon counties). I don't know where I can find a "conforming" 3-3.5% down loan here that's not FHA, since no local banks seem to advertise something like it. I've been looking at MyCommunityMortgage and they seem awesome - 3-5% down with mortgage insurance that is typical for 10-15%-down conventional loans - but when I do search for "Fannie Mae + your home state" as recommended, all I get is HomeFirst and general info on MyCommunityMortgage (since the income/value limits are higher for NJ, that info gets included in all their documentation on the program).
    9. Property Description:  Single-family, "single home" (no townhouse/condo). No foreclosures, short sales, or other "as-is" situations.
    10. Property Value.  $200,000-$250,000
    11. Occupancy.  Currently? Rent $550/mo. As far as every credit application I've filled out is concerned, it's my responsibility. However, since the contract IS in both our names, I could hypothetically call it $275/mo (even split) or $440/mo (split based on relative income). Not sure what that would help/hurt with; I've heard of sticker shock being a concern for some, but if all goes according to plan ($2000/mo into savings, basically the amount the mortgage+tax+insurance would be), I don't see that being an issue. 12. It is also affected greatly by your market conditions which at the moment vary greatly by your locale ...in a buyers market, you can expect seller concessions ...in a sellers market, probably not. USDA offers the best govt guarantee program for closing costs since they will allow you to include closing costs in the loan up to the appraised value. New Jersey's web site is screwed up (at least for me) and I can't nail down exactly what dp/closing cost assistance programs are available to you but it looks very dependent on the specific location you are buying in.Based on my income, debts, interest rates, monthly amount I can put into savings, and general "homebuying timeline," when should I get pre-qualified?     I am relatively new to apple (have an iPad) and having been a PC user for years I was pleasantly surprised with the apple experience and am now trying to work out the best set up for me, my husband and young son as I am buying them both of them apple products this Christmas.  New Mac laptop/ ipad for hubby and then an ipod touch for my son oh and a new mac laptop for me. We are also thinking of moving from Blackberries to iPhones. Yes we seem to be hooked! but i am unsure about the home family set up and how to replace my PC network that I run off an 8TB server.
    In reading the forums I keep seeing people talk about problems they have with two apple IDs and trying to merge them. I have also heard about a family ID allowing us to share apps legally.  I am really nervous of setting us up wrong and then having problems later and hence i am now looking for some advice on how to share as much as we can legally but also make usage practical and not invading each others privacy. thoughts so far:
    Music - I think we are happy to share the same music and access using one ID (we currently don't buy much music from apple but have lots of CDs we share).
    Photos - It would be nice to share photos - as long as my son or husband cannot accidentally delete photos of mine (which is my biggest concern). I currently load all camera photos onto my 8TB storage box as the network owner and my husband has full access to copy any photo to his laptop but can never delete the original copies by accident.
    Apps - If possible i would like us to share these but they are cheap enough these days to separate if really needed. Would be good to share licence for pages etc though
    cloud, contacts, facetime, email -  this is what is making me consider separate IDs or learning how to have multiple users in one apple ID - I do not want to have to share synced contacts with my husband. I have near 300 contacts now through work etc and he will not want them plus i will not want his or him being able to delete mine by mistake. and then for email and facetime, well I want to give him his privacy so I do not receive his messages etc. especially now that we are considering switching to iPhones
    Then last but not least, i don't know the best solution for my son. he is only 7 years old so even though I don't want to pay for things again I don't want him being able to download "just any" app from the purchased icon in Appstore. Also, is there a child friendly setting to prevent him from viewing inappropriate content on the internet?
