Captivate 8 not picking up System Audio

Good morning,
My partner and I are both using Captivate 8.  We are trying to use a Lync meeting to capture audio.  It works fine on my computer but not on my partners.  It seems all her settings are the same as mine.  She used to be able to pick up the system audio but it has stopped working for some reason.  I have had her re-boot twice.  Anything else we should be checking?

It turned out that the problem was not actually in Captivate but in Lync.  The Lync setting default was not using the Logitech Headset but something else that Captivate did not pick up as part of system audio.  Had to click on the Speaker icon in my tray at the bottom of my window (application agnostic).  Then click on Mixer.  There are then choices for Speakers, System Audio, Lync, etc....  Only Speakers has a drop-down arrow.  Select your headset instead of the HP or Realtech or what ever is there.  This should fix the problem.
PS -- For us, why it was working for several weeks and then stopped turned out to be a Blue Jeans Conferencing upgrade.  Each member of the team had the issue on different days over a two week span and it turned out to be the same day we updated Blue Jeans.  Hope that helps.

    Ever since upgrading to 10.6.2, the system audio features of ishowu no longer function. soundflower works properly but it seems that 10.6.2 does not let other applications switch/utilize soundflower in their apps. I was on a troubleshooting call with ishowu personnel and the problem was narrowed down to the Snow Leopard. All worked well in Leopard and Tiger but now problems. Apple is really going downhill with the launch with many issues.

    Thanks. I had tried that previously and its not a soundflower problem. It seems that the new version of Snow Leopard does not provide the switch to allow 3rd party software to communicate with the sound system preferences. This was not a problem with earlier versions of Mac OS and seems to be a bug that was introduced with Snow Leopard. Mac will only survive if it moves forward with max compatibility with 3rd party software producers.

  • Mac not picking up interface audio

    Ok i've had this problem before and I'm not sure why it came back. I have tried plugging in my synth to the interface from the two outputs on the synth to the line ins on the interface and then USB to the Mac. I've also tried a bass and a mic (at separate times of course). The problem is that I can hear the audio from whatever instrument i'm playing by monitoring through the interface and GB recognizes the interface when it plugs in (Tascam US-122L) but the sound is not getting from the interface to GB for some reason. Input and Ouput settings on GB are set to US-122L. For the Mic and bass I set it to mono and turned monitor on and for the synth i turned it to stereo. No input signal whatsoever found on GB. What am I doing wrong?

    It's set as a real instrument track. Both line outs from the synth are plugged in the line ins on the interface. Line levels are turned up. Switch is set to Mic/Line. Mon Mix knob is all the way to the right for computer (all the way to the left being Input). Plugging phones in to the interface allows me to hear the synth that way. USB light is on. GB recognizes the US-122L when I plug it in but no signal is coming through it all. Changed Output to built-in output and plugged phones in to the mac to see if I could hear anything. Nothing at all. US-122L is set to Input. The Sig/OL lights on the Tascam flash when I hit the keys on the synth. It should be noted that when I try to plug in a bass or a mic, the same thing happens.
    So bottom line: audio is traveling from synth to interface, mac is picking up USB connection from interface, but audio is not going from interface to mac for some reason. Note that it's not just a matter of hearing the sound being played on GB, there's not even a signal showing up on the mixer for that selected real instrument track.

  • DW not picking up html audio/video from Edge Animate

    Just inserted Edge Animate compostion in Dreamweaver. The native animation and buttons work fine in DW. So when button is clicked, it transforms, but it should also play a sound. The sound plays fine in Animate, but not playing in DW. Same with the video link. I inserted copies of those media elements in the same folder hoping it would fix the link, but that didn't work.
    Do I need to re-wire those links somewhere? What am I missing?

    There is actually a much easier way for both audio and video. Just use the actions and an html tag.
    Here is how it goes:
    choose element
    add action (let's say, click...)
    insert "get element" from right column list.
    modify your code so it would look something like this ...
    var chooseName = sym.$("AnyElementName");
    chooseName.html('<video width="100%" height="100%" controls="controls"> <source src="source/source.mp4" type="video/mp4" poster="source/source.jpg"> <source src="source/source.ogg" type="video/ogg"> Yikes! can't play this video? Check it out on youtube + URL. </video>');
    and close the actions window.
    Same for audio.
    You should be good to go. 
    YOU MUST:
    * make sure to NOT hit enter in the middle of your html tag. Keep it all intact. It will get super long once you add all the media files, but that's fine as long is it is not "broken"
    * once you publish your file, copy your media to the edgeanimate_assets folder...see below for instructions.

  • Captivate 7 is not capturing system audio, and the software has a broken link

    The Problem:
    Captivate 7 is not capturing system audio. When I start a screen recording, the line with "System Audio" and its checkbox are eternally grayed out. Next to the grayed out words is a link that says, "Why is this disabled?"
    The lnik goes to:  http://www.adobe.com/go/cpaudio
    Which is not a valid link, so Adobe's site redirects me to blogs.adoble.com/captivate which is ZERO help. Both browsing and the search bar bring no answers.
    The Device:
    Apple Macbook Air, Mid 2013, running OSX 10.9.2.
    What I've done already:
    Obvsiously I have set Captivate 7's preferences to capture system audio, and have set System Settings -> Security and Privacy -> Privacy -> Accessibility to allow Captivate to control my computer.
    I have also tried clicking the Mic icon, Selecting Source with the System Audio icon and that doesn't record system audio either. It acts like it is recording system audio, but when I stop recording I get a popup that says, "Cannot record system audio. Ensure that you are playing audio on your computer [Okay]"

    It's a wierd one.
    One thing to try, and this fixes a lot of things, trash your preferences.

    This option only came in with Captivate 6.1 Subscription Edition.  It's also in Cp7.  If you do not have these versions you won't see it.

    I have just a "regular" copy of Captivate CS6 Mac version running OS 10.7.5 bought the box so it isn't a subscription. I'm trying to record a video that has an audio track with it I tried using "record new software simulation" as shown by by Dr. Allen Partridge above. In this video he has an option in his audio preferences that I do not have, namely the check box "system audio". Is this wonderful option ONLY for subscriptions or ASA's? If so WHY? If not what do I need to do in order to record the video WITH the audio?

    I see that you are having start up problems with your HP computer. I have a couple of suggestions that may help with your issues.
    Here is a link to some troubleshooting steps that may help resolve your issues.
    If you are still having trouble I would suggest testing the power adapter or trying a different power adapter. Most retailers will let you try a power adapter on the computer to see if it works.

    You are referring to OFFICE 2010, not Windows XP or 7.
    And which version of Windows do you have?
    NEVER begin before you have a backup, ideally one you have tested and know works.
    You don't really install Boot Camp, the Assistant is a partition tool utility.
    You may just want Office 2008 for Mac.
    If you need Office for Windows, perhaps run Windows in a VM like Parallels or Fusion.
    Buy some backup drives and start using TimeMachine for one backup, then weekly backup with SuperDuper.
    IF there is now a partition for Windows, all you need is to buy Windows, and I would recommend Windows 7 Home Premium (retail) which is about US$149.
    Has nothing to do with free space. Office 2010 isn't to boot from. In fact, you can copy the disc to a folder (1.25GB) and run SETUP from there.

    Summary : Here we are creating the PR in the sale order and STO is created using the same PR to procure the materials from the WM plant to sale order plant. Since here intialy we are moving the stock to our sale order in WM plant and then picking the same. But while creating the Transfer order system is not picking the sale order stock in WM plant.

  • In J1IS system is not picking net value from PO automatically

    Dear Experts,
    I want to send rejected material to vendor back, so I have done return delivery against MIGO material document, in MIGO, in Excise Invoice Tab i have selected no exicse Entry document. At the time of J1IS sytem is not picking net value from PO. This field is editable. Our requirement is, system should pick net value from PO.
    In this case I am not makeing any RETURN PO
    Could any body guide me? Is there any configuration required?

    There is no link between p.o & excise inv. creation using J1IS.
    In J1IS,Enter return material document no,Ref doc. type - MATD,Doc Year,series group,excise group,series group & finally vendor in selection.
    In excise invoice automatically details like material code,qty will appear.
    You need to enter assesable value & excise duties manually.
    Note :
    Be cautious while entereing excise duties bcoz you may be returning partial quantity to vendor,
    so calculate excise duties in a seperate excel sheet before entering it in J1IS.

So that after finishing BRs I am matching the doc manually, in f-04. This is taking long time for processing.     1...Go to SPRO...Financial Accounting....Bank...Business transactions...Payment Transactions...Manual Bank Statement..Create a new transaction with sign - and do not assign anything in posting rule for now and enter 15 in Algorithm field , save.
    2...In define posting keys and posting rules...create an account symbol for the one you did in step 1..In Assign account to account symbol please use account symbol created earlier and acc mode + and currency should be + too. In GL Account area please list the outgoing GL which you are using for outgoing postings..
    In create key for posting rule define a posting rule and now go back to step 1 and assign the posting rule you created to the transaction type
    In define posting rules please maintain posting rule as define above...in posting area assign 1. give nothing in first posting key.assign account symbol as created earlier...now give give posting key 50..give account credit Bank...and a suitable document you use for posting BRS...In posting type give 4.
    Your Manual Bank statement is ready ....
    Go to FS00 select your bank outgoing GL account there and in create/bank.interest tab double click on Field status group..in general data make assignment number mandatory for posting...
    Go to FB50....post and outgoing transaction using the GL given above it will require you to enter assignment number enter 123 and post.
    In FF67 Select the new statement , proceed with your normal data entry and give the transaction you created in above , enter value date, amount and in bank ref field enter 123 as given in FB50.
    Save and post it. Now it should work.

  • System is not picking up approvers from BADI in Item level workflow

    My problem is that
    1. when I creat the shopping cart the system is picking up the correct approver from BADI and showing it in approval preview.
    2. My first level approver is a general task so Workitem going to the correct persons.
    3. after first level approver I am fillng approver in BADI for 2 nd level.
    4. But after first approval the SC is directly getting approved finally as system is not picking up approvers from the BADI.
    I dont understand the problem. even We applied SP9 as well, but the problem is not resolved.
    Please suggest something.

    Suppose Bank Account is : 113150 ( Created in FS00)
    Bank Clearing Account for Treasury Clearing purpose is 114150 (not yet created in FS00)
    Bank Clearing for non treasury clearing purpose is 112150 (created in FS00)
    in my account determination of TRM I have maintained masking as ++++++4+++
    then in this case when posting happens Account picked up will be 114150 based on my House Bank detail in payment tab.
    Although 114150 is not created in FS00 and not maintained in T042Y in FBZP. and system will throw error.
    Am I right?
