Captivate 8 suddenly stopped loading

So I had been using captivate for a few weeks, then took a break for about 2 weeks.  I came back to find that Captivate now won't load, EVER.  I'm on a PC running windows 7, with Captivate 8 (64 bit) and Adobe CC.  The intro splash screen (green with the extrudes squares) appears and says "Loading...." but it will stay there indefinitely.
When I check the Task Manager to see if it's frozen, it doesn't show up in the list of applications.  Under processes it shows AdobeCaptivate.exe using 08 CPU and 258,728 K Memory, with AdobeCaptivateWS.exe *32 using 00 CPU and 4,204 K Memory.
We've tried deleting preferences, uninstalling reinstalling (multiple times) and can never get the software to load.  It's the only piece of software acting up, and nothing has physically happened to the PC tower, so we're at a loss.
Does anyone out there have any suggestions on how to get this working again, or has run into similar issues?
Thanks,
Rob

Hi  There ,
Fonts  has  been  used  by  many  applications  and  it seems  that  the  issue  was due  to some   corrupt  fonts.
You  can  try  to  copy and  paste   few  fonts first   to  its  original  location  in  C  drive   and  then launch  Captivate , if  everything  works  fine then   follow  the  same  way again  and   copy  few  more  fonts  to  its  original  location by  which you  can  find out   the  corrupt  fonts.

Reader XI has suddenly stopped loading any images in pdf's.  Any idea why?

I tried to got to edit to follow the suggestion of ~graffiti I found that the "Show Large Images" was already checked.  I since have found that if I download the .pdf file and then open the download everything appears as it should.  Previously, when I clicked on the emailed .pdf file it would automatically open without having to download the file.  I'm not sure why it is requiring the extra steps of downloading the and then opening the downloaded file before the images with appear.  Any ideas why the extra steps are now required?

  • Some flash players suddenly stopped loading.

About a week ago many of the regular online videos I watch stopped loading. I have windows 7 and run firefox as my browser. Over the week I've browsed various websites and help forums and attempted many different things but none have worked so far. Now when I say they do not load I mean the player itself loads, but the little loading reticle never stops spinning.
Examples that do not load for me:
https://blip.tv/day9tv/day-9-daily-201-newbie-tuesday-using-drops-4288759 (No video from this user loads)
http://roosterteeth.com/archive/?id=3450 (no video from this website load)
Examples that do load and work fine:
    Youtube
    Megavideo
https://blip.tv/sotg/starcraft-2-state-of-the-game-ep46-5474587 (This video loads perfectly fine but the other link from the same website from a different user does not load)
The only thing out of the blue that I have done recently was update to firefox 6.0, before doing this I believe my videos worked fine. I'm not sure if they stopped working right after the update or a few days after.
    Things I've tried:
    Clear Cache
Ran FF (Firefox) in safe mode
    Updated flash
    Uninstalled and reinstalled flash
I've ran various my anti virus, anti spyware, and antimalware software
(Spyware Search & Destroy, AdAware, Malware Anti-Malware Bytes)
I'm fairly certain I have tried more things but those are the only that come to mind at the moment. Help would be greatly appreciated. I miss my videos
Lastly, just to reiterate the flash player loads, but the videos do not. The reticle for loading will starts spinning and never stop.
    Thanks

I am having a similar problem. When I try to view any video from any website which lasts more than 1:30 minutes, it freezes and no longer works.  I've tried the same things that you are reporting, but I've tried one more thing that works: I've noted that this annoying thing is happening to me since I've installed Windows 7 service pack 1, and once I've uninstalled it, the problem solves itself. Is there any other solution to this problem? It's driving me crazy!!
I must apologize for not giving more details. I have the latest version of (of course) Flash player, Internet explorer, Mozilla, Opera (I have even tried with Google chrome) Windows 7 service pack 1, and I have an Asus F5 Laptop with the latest version of the Nvidia drivers. It's something strange because this problem it's not because of the web browser (it happens to me with all browsers). I have tried with many Flash player versions, uninstalling and reinstalling, and the only thing that worked for me was when I realized that one of the things I had recently changed was that service pack. Once I've uninstalled service pack 1, it works for me with all web browsers....
But what can I do to work with Windows 7 service pack 1 and Flash player in Web browsers?????

  • Fx 31 for Mac suddenly stopped loading images does anyone have a solution to this.

In the middle of the day Fx stopped loading images for buttons, pictures on websites etc. I can use other browsers on my Mac and they work fine. I have reset Fx and tried with no add-ons installed. I have even removed and reinstalled. No change.

You have the QuickJava 2.0.4 extension installed and this extension allows to toggle the image setting as well.

  • Why did Google images suddenly stop loading in Firefox 17?

Suddenly 3 aspects of Google stopped working in Firefox from my home computer:
    1) autocomplete predictions
    2) images
    3) maps
All these features work in IE, just not Firefox.
I have been searching the Internet for a solution, because I was sure it couldn't be "just me." But among all the solutions I've found in various places, none have restored these functions.
I have updated Java and Flash. I have checked security levels. I have tried a new Firefox profile. I have verified that the Enable button next to "Run ActiveX controls and plug-in" is selected, AND that the Enable button next to "Binary and script behaviors" is selected, AND that the Enable button under "Active scripting" is selected.
I've tried other solutions as well, but I don't even remember them all (I know, I should have written them down).

*sigh* Sometimes the simplest...STUPIDEST...solutions fix the problem.
OK, I had read while I was searching for suggestions, that someone had discovered that their computer time was set wrong and this interfered with the java certificate, thus disallowing access to Google maps and Google images thumbnails. I immediately looked at my computer time and saw it was showing the correct time in the XP task bar.
What I didn't see, because I didn't check further, was that it was showing the wrong MONTH. I had used the calendar to look for a date in 2013 and apparently had selected November when I reset it. Once I corrected to December AND synced the Internet time as well, everything went back to normal (of course, duh).
Thank you for your help here. I hope the next person looking for a solution has the sense to check the ENTIRE setting for time and date.

  • A webpage suddenly stops loading and just shows 'connecting...'. Opening new webpages in new tabs in the same window or in a new window gives same problem, while IE does not have any such problem opening the same page simultaneously

this issue is not limited to one website, it seems to be problem with the browser or possibly any plugins but not any specific webpage

The default of the pref network.http.max-connections has been increased from 30 to 256 in Firefox 6+ versions.
Try to decrease the value of the pref <b>network.http.max-connections</b> from 255 to a setting like 30 as used in Firefox 3 versions.

your suggestion to remove system directory helped to resolve the issue, but I lost all my connections, etc.
I also noticed, that the oracle.j2ee.10.1.3.36.73 subdirectory there was "locked" by another process, and there was no embedded oc4j running... Is it a bug? should I log it with Jdev support?

  • Browser has suddenly stopped loading html files which contain flash content (LANGUAGE="JavaScript1.2)

Having created interactive material which opens as shockwave flash in my browser Firefox has stopped opening such files it just opens with the circle as if its opening the file but the file never opens. These files opened previously without a hitch and open in IE. If I browse and open the shockwave flash object quiz.swf it will open but it will not open the quiz, html file.
I'm using Firefox 3.6.13 and adobe flash 10

There is no Flash player version 15... as in your code:
    <param name="swfversion" value="15.0.0.0" />
For some reason Adobe thought it would be a good idea to target a Flash player version (15) as default.....which may be out a couple years in the future. Go figure!!!
If you don't like player version 9, change to 10 or 11.... just not 15 (yet).
    Best wishes,

  • Photoshop CS5.1 Extended 64 bit suddenly stops loading psd files

For some reason the Photoshop CS5.1 that I have installed on my Windows 7 64b has stopped working.  It still works on my other computer though.  It starts up just fine, but when I go to Open a PSD file (which I have edited here before) nothing happens -- absolutely nothing!  When I try to create a new file the same nothing happens.  Can somebody give me a clue?  I sure hope I don't have to reinstall or something.  I don't think I've made any updates to Photoshop, it just stopped working this week for no apparent reason that I can think of.
I also went back and tried my CS5 version and the same thing happens.

To further what Chris mentioned about documents opening on another monitor that doesn't happen to be powered-up right now...
When you get this situation, if you press the Arrange Documents button at the top and click the Consolidate All button, what do you see?

  • My Safari suddenly stopped loading Facebook, Google and YouTube. Why? I downloaded Firefox and it's working really well! What's going on?

Over the past two or three weeks, my Safari has bogged down. It will load most Web pages just fine, but YouTube, Google and Facebook just won't launch. I managed to use it to download Firefox and it's working great. Safari is still a no-go.

    Hi Jake ...
Those three sites require the Flash plugin.
    Quit Safari.
Uninstall the Flash plugin then reinstall new >  Troubleshoot Flash Player | Mac OS
Very important to uninstall the currently installed plugin first.
Launch Safari From your Safari menu bar click Safari > Empty Cache
Now try one of those sites.
BTW... if you have the ClickToFlash extension installed, that can prevent Flash based video from streaming. It can also be installed as a plugin in /Library/Internet-Plug-Ins.
And check to see if Safari is running in 32 bit mode. Right or control click the Safari icon in your Applications folder then click Get Info. If the box next to:  Open in 32 bit mode  is selected, deselect, quit then relaunch Safari.
If uninstalling and reinstalling Flash didn't help, it could be a cookies issue.
Back to the Safari menu bar again, click Safari > Preferences then select the Security tab.
Click Show Cookies. Then click Remove All > Done
Quit then relaunch Safari to test.

  • Premier Pro CC 2014 has suddenly stopped loading. Every time I try to launch it after a few moments I get an error message

"Sorry a serious error has occurred that requires Adobe Premier to shut down. THis only started today and I have been using Premier without issue until then. There was an adobe update a few weeks ago but it worked fine afterwards. This is a nightmare as I need to finish a large project and I cant even open it at the moment. I did see some blog posts with similar issues referring to third party plug ins from RedGiant software. I do have Colorista II so I followed the instructions t disable it but it made no difference. Does anyone have any suggestions? I am using a 2011 iMac, 3.4Ghz Core i7 32GB Ram and AMD Radeon HD 6970M

IF you got a kernel panic, then you may need more than a time machine backup. I would be inclined to run Disk Utility verify disk (and repair disk from Disk Utility on the installer DVD if verify disk showed problems) then I would download and reinstall the 10.6.2 combo update. It can be gotten at http://support.apple.com/kb/DL959
If Mail still crashes on launch after that, maybe try reinstalling Mail from the "optional installs" package that is on the installer DVD -- you can pick onesey-twosey from a select list of OEM applications, that includes Mail, to reinstall.
In either event, I would run software update after a combo update and/or mail reinstall to make sure everything is back up to the latest and greatest. Lastly, maybe a "rebuild mailbox."

  • Soundcloud audio content has suddenly stopped loading on my new Macbook Pro Retina. I do not have Flashblock extension installed. Cache cleared, nothing works.

Two days ago I was able to play Soundcloud audio both on their site and on Facebook. Now it hangs and won't play. It is fine in other browsers. I have the latest version of everything and do not have the Flashblock or Flashblocker extension that seems to have been the culprit for some others with this problem.
I've updated Flash once since getting my MBP Retina two weeks ago, and the audio was still playing from Soundcloud after the update. I have cleared cache, cookies and history to no avail. It is very annoying as I don't want to have to change browsers every time I need to play something from Soundcloud. It has always worked perfectly with Firefox until this happened.

If you use extensions (Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Extensions) that can block content (e.g. Adblock Plus, NoScript, Flash Block, Ghostery) then make sure that such extensions aren't blocking content.
Start Firefox in <u>[[Safe Mode|Safe Mode]]</u> to check if one of the extensions (Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Extensions) or if hardware acceleration is causing the problem.
*Switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Appearance
*Do NOT click the Reset button on the Safe Mode start window

Create a new account (systempreferences -> accounts or Users & Groups on 10.7)  and see if the problem is repeated there. If it is, then a re-install of the app might be indicated. If it's not, then it's likely the app is okay and the problem is something in the main account.
