Captivate 8 trial won't open at first and then won't download on Mac (10.9.4)

At first, the Akamai installer seemed to work and properly download Cp8. I tried to open it and it wouldn't open. I checked my application files and noticed it was Cp7. I uninstalled everything and tried again. Akamai just went straight to the 'download complete' message and prompted install (didn't actually install). Nothing. Captivate was not installed. I deleted the Akamai installer and tried again, same result (straight to download complete, install - though nothing had installed). I deleted all my cookies and browser history, same result. I tried in Safari, Chrome and Firefox (started with Chrome), same result. Very frustrated. Any ideas?

Do you have a PowerPC processor or an Intel processor?
Firefox 4 and later require at least OS X 10.5 and a Mac with an Intel processor.

    No. If you simply click on a hyperlink in pretty much anything, Safari will open since it is the default browser. The only option you have is tap and hold on the link, and then select Add to reading list. It will then be stored int eh reading list in Safari.

    This is how I fixed it with instructions I received from ajit:
    Hi There, The error you were getting because both files ( .7z and .exe ) of Captivate 8 not downloaded at the same location.  Please find the steps of download and installation of Captivate 8 ( 64 bit ) :- Open the link mention below in any Web Browser say Internet Explorer https://www.adobe.com/cfusion/tdrc/index.cfm?product=captivate Sign in with your Adobe id and  Password, then you will be redirected to download Web Page of Captivate 8.   Do not click on Download. Kindly let that window open as it is.  Now Copy and paste the link mention below in the new tab/window of the same Web Browser in which you have opened the above link. http://trials3.adobe.com/AdobeProducts/CPTV/8/win64/Captivate_8_x64_LS21.7z  Then Save the file. Do the same for the link mention below and save this .exe file as well. http://trials3.adobe.com/AdobeProducts/CPTV/8/win64/Captivate_8_x64_LS21.exe Make sure both the files (.7z and .exe) save/download at the same location/folder. NOTE: Wait for both the files to finish download and then run the .exe file. Once you run the .exe, it will start extracting the .7z file and will provide Captivate 8 folder on your desktop which will contain setup.exe.     If your library was working on your computer and then popped up empty all of a sudden then this might be what you need...
    Empty/corrupt library after upgrade/crash
    Hopefully it's not been too long since you last upgraded iTunes, in fact if you get an empty/incomplete library immediately after upgrading then with the following steps you shouldn't lose a thing or need to do any further housekeeping. In the Previous iTunes Libraries folder should be a number of dated iTunes Library files. Take the most recent of these and copy it into the iTunes folder. Rename iTunes Library.itl as iTunes Library (Corrupt).itl and then rename the restored file as iTunes Library.itl. Start iTunes. Should all be good, bar any recent additions to or deletions from your library.
    See iTunes Folder Watch for a tool to catch up with any changes since the backup file was created.
    When you get it all working make a backup!

    All files have their "native" application. Without the application the file cannot be created.
    Once created the file must have the native application to be "opened".
    For the application to do that first to open is the software (application).

  • Bug Report for files first opened in Bridge and then worked in Photoshop

    I encountered a problem with files first opened in Bridge and then worked in Photoshop as follows:
    1.  I opened a raw file in Bridge and then after corrections sent to Photoshop with no problem, however, after correcting and saving the file I then went back to the option of closing file and going to bridge.  It closes file and stays in Photoshop.  In order to get back to bridge I must either click on the bridge logo at bottom of screen or request to go to bridge.
    2.  I tested the same thing in CS-5 and it works like it is suppose to you click on close and go to bridge and it immediately takes you back to bridge. 
    3.  Unless this is a new feature or suppose to work this way then it is a bug.

    Yes, I am talking about opening a file in bridge doing necessary corrections etc and then sending on to Photoshop.  Once I do necessary corretions and save in Photoshop my next step would be to select close and open in bridge which is a choice.  In previous Photoshops that I have used (CS4 and CS5) when you did this it would close the file and then immediately take you back to bridge.  Now under CS6  if you select close and go to bridge it closes the file but remains in Photoshop.  If bridge is not a choice when you select close and open in bridge why even have that as a choice?  Why not just select close and then click on bridge logo or Control Alt O or select go to bridge?

    Good question - and one that a lot of (business) people would like solved!
    Your question prompted me to do some research, and I found this workaround posted by Scott Grossberg:
    His solution actually addresses a second problem too - how to attach a document when replying to an email message. In your case you may not need to consider the "reply" aspect - but if not right now, it'll come in useful someday!
    I've pasted it verbatim - if it works for you (it does for me) then all credit goes to Scott for solving the problem. There's just one thing I'd add to his solution: you will probably want to rename the message, as by default Goodreader gives it the Subject line: Mail with GoodReader attachments.
    THE GOODREADER OPTION
    1.  CREATE the document you want to send.
    2.  SAVE it to GoodReader (this will require you to buy and install the app).
    3.  Go to your email and OPEN the email thread to which you want to Reply and attach your file.
    4.  COMPOSE your Reply.
    5.  DOUBLE TAP the message.
    6.  TAP SELECT ALL. This will copy the entire email thread.
    7.  OPEN GOODREADER on the iPad and go to the file you want to send as part of your Reply.
    8.  At the bottom of the GoodReader screen you will see an EXPORT icon (it looks like a rectangle with an arrow pointing to the right).
    9.  TAP the Export button.
    10.  TAP EMAIL FILE. Depending on your needs, tap either SEND FILE “AS IS” or “FLATTEN ANNOTATIONS.” This will open a compose message screen with the chosen document already attached.
    11.  TAP in the body of the email screen. TAP PASTE. This will place your composed Reply and the prior email thread into the message.
    12.  ENTER the Recipients’ names in the TO: field of your message.
    13.  SEND your email Reply.
    The modified version (= when composing a new message rather than a reply):
    1 Make sure that the doc you want to attach is saved in GoodReader
    2 In the message you are composing, double tap, select all, and then copy.
    3 Open GoodReader and select the file you want to attach
    4 Select the export button at the bottom of screen
    5 Select e-mail file
    6 Position cursor in body of the email message, tap and paste. You may want to delete the "sent from GoodReader" text that precedes the attachment.
    7 Rename your message (as by default it will be Mail with GoodReader attachments)
    8 Add the recipient's address in the To field.

    Premiere Pro trial won't download and it isn't listed in my creative cloud. It is frustrating... it says it is downloading but it makes creative cloud pop up and I then can't find it listed . I just want the trial. I have done trouble shooting on cchromeand on my computer.

    See if your machine meets the system requirements for the software.  CC will not list applications that will not work with the system.

    1. Open iTunes.
    2. Click the View option in the iTunes menu.
    3. Select the Show Sidebar option.
    Connect your phone, select it in the Sidebar...the various tabs will now show as before.
