Captivate 8 wont work on Mac

I have downloaded the trial version of Captivate on my MacBook (OSX 10.10.1) but the software wont start.
It gives me the starting screen that says: Loading.... then nothing happens.
any ideas how to solve this?

Hi There,
I am suspecting this to be a problem with fonts. If your Captivate stuck on Loading screen, probably, you can try removing all third party fonts from your machine and keeping only the Fonts used by your OS.
You will find the fonts here --\Library\Fonts
Before, doing this, just to confirm, the problem is not specific to corrupted preferences/account settings, create a New User Account, log in to that and Launch Captivate from there.

Firefox Sync wont work on mac os x

I tried using firefox sync with a local server to store data. I setup a server with instructions on http://docs.services.mozilla.com/howtos/run-sync.html
I am able to successfully use this from my linux desktop but when i try adding my mac os to the account it results in errors. I see unknown errors on sync. I tried using a new profile etc and errors were reproducible
I looked at sync-log and i see the following error:

I tried this using the beta builds and the nightly builds and the same error is reproducible.

IWeb wont work after MAC OS X upgrade, and restore from backup

I upgrading to Mac OS X 10.5.2, and reinstalling iWeb 08, and restoring my website from backup, iWeb does not recognize my existing website. When I opened iWeb for the first time, it had the option for creating a new website, not recognizing my existing website. I could not see an option to "open" or "import". How can I get it to recognize my existing iWeb website?
We website is located in my <user home directory> Root directory. I have also tried placing it in the <user home>\Sites directory and relaunching iWeb with no success.

I made a full backup of the hard drive before I repartitioned it for MAC OS X. I Once the install completed, I copied over the <user>\Domain-Name. I wasn't aware of the one in >library>application support. I went and looked on my backup and could not see anything resembling my domain name or iweb under >library>application support. Can you give me a little more information on this or where it could possibly be? I'm sure that I'm really close to getting this figured out.

IPOD WONT WORK ON MAC OR PC

My ipod is formatted for a MAC and still has all my songs on it. However, the music on my MAC was deleted. Now i want to either put my music on my PC or at least format my ipod for my PC. I connected my ipod to my PC and it doesn't recognize that the ipods an ipod. I then tried re connecting the ipod to my mac and it does not come up in tunes either. (They both say device not connected)

That will attempt to move your music from your iPod to the Apple. Then, once you have your music backed up, you'll need to download the iPod Updater and format your iPod for windows. Then, you can use your iPod to transfer the music on your Apple back to your windows machine. A windows computer can't recognize and iPod formatted for Mac. However, a Mac can recognize an iPod formatted for Windows.

Fujifilm Frontier ICC color profiles wont work on Mac

Downloaded the Fujifilm crystal archive ICC color profile for the Fuji Frontier minilab. This is for having my photo's printed through an online service that uses the Fuji Frontier and the crystal archive paper. I place the color profile that I downloaded in the System/Library/ Profile map as instructed. I also have my other color profiles in there. Then when I go to System Preferences/Color and want to select the profile I have just added it is not there. All my other color profiles are there but not the Fuji color profile. Anybody know why?

Help my Mac mini wont work with the airpot

I have got the Mac mini Intel Core Solo G5 model and ive got a ibook G4 my G4 works great and fine but my mac mini does not. I connect to the base station fine useing the drop down bit on the taskbar in finder and enter the password and it connects. But when i do network assistant and it asks for me to eneter the password again it just basicly frezzes for a min then says invalid password when i know that it is the write base station password. It did work once but froze again and said could not connect. and when i go into the airport utlity it can't descover the base station even though it says it is connected with a full signal, im doing the excatly same things i did with my ibook but it just wont work. Please can someone help me and tell me what i have to do or give me some support this is my last hope as apple aren't intrested. I will be very gratful!

Try to put your headphones several times in and out from your connection, might be the switch is stuck. Normally it should work again while trying to plug the headphones in and out!

Mac mini screen wont work after lion

My hdmi connection to my tv wont work after installing lion last night. It worked once last night but hasnt worked since. All cables are in tact and computer is set up the same. I cant even see anything to fix it!

I called apple - I'd have been in trouble if my mac had been my only internet access!
I had to reset the P-RAM
as so:
mac is powered off
turn on power then instantly press keys: command option P R
the mac will chime as usual then on the second chime let go of the keys.
After this my screen worked again.
For info - command key is cmd, option key is alt
I did this with an old mac wired keyboard - not sure if it will work on bluetooth keyboard, but it might.

purchased a G5 iMac to replace my aging dell desktop,
and now i'm more or less completely os x dependant
(I've had an ibook for a few months now). Anyway, I
have a few questions:
1. Does anyone know of a (free) mail notifier tool,
that will alert me when I recieve new pop3 mail? I
used to use AIM for this in windows
The built in email program does sound an alert for new messages.
2. Anyone know of a good (free, again) IRC client?
iChat works well.
3. I noticed earlier that my screen was flickering,
it seems to have subsided for now, but is that normal
to encounter in a new display? It wasn't really bad
flicker, but I could see it.

4. I leave my desktops on 24/7x365, will that be a
problem with this iMac? Display shuts off of course

You could set the iMac to go to sleep after non use. My Macs are
always sleeping when not in use, waking them up takes seconds.
Unlike windoze, never knew if it would be locked up or not.
5. Should I get the extended warranty? I'm usually
against them, but I am expecting this computer to
last me at least 3 years (for $1300 it better!)
before I upgrade, as I got that much out of a Dell
and from what I understand, Mac's do not age nearly
as fast as Windows pc's.
It is well worth the cost. Never know what might happen. Also
it is good insurance for future upgrades. I traded in my G4 tower
purchased two years ago for 75% of what I paid for it. Apple care
transfers, giving the buyer the remainder of your warranty.

afternoon, tried to download skype on my power book g4 and it after download I try to open the dm and it says wont work with this artitecture.
I am running 10.5.8 after I have download the dm the window that I should put it into the applications had like a do not enter symbol.

I'm sure you've done everything like rebooting or testing other usb devices...have you tried to create a new user account and see if you get anything that way?, I would imagine you'd have to return the machine for an exchange at the Apple store.

I have no idea what you're talking about, however my Mail stopped working when I
had to add a new e-mail address for my Hotmail account.
My new Hotmail address works, and seems to get e-mail from the old e-mail address,
which from I've read behaves as a "default" address for the old address.
Apple Mail is linked to my Hotmail account of the old e-mail address.
I no longer know my old password.
Apple Mail will not accept my new password for ny new Hotmail account.
Can someone help me solve this problem WITOUT COMPLICATED SOLUTION!
As I said I have no idea what a port, or SSL or authentication is!
If you do answer,please answer in vert simple steps that are easy to follow, and donlt make matters worse.

I need the option key to start my mac but It wont work! help!?

About a year ago I downloaded some program to make windows work on my mac. Recently I uninstalled it because I no longer needed it. The only thing was everytime I restarted my mac it brought me to a black screen and told me to insert a bootable disc. I looked up the problem and people told me that if I hold the option key when my mac make the chime sound I could select my hard drive. Well this worked fine for a while. But then suddenly my z key stopped working so I restarted my mac. And it turns out my option key wont work as well. So I can't boot up my mac. Does anyone have any suggestions?

Try holding the X key instead of the Option key. If that works, once you're in Mac OS X, goto System Preferences/Startup Disk and select your hard drive then hit restart. That should solve your startup problems. You'll still need to resolve your Z and Option key problem but at least the startup should work.

Sorry about lack of info it wont boot up at all they logged on to my computer to try and fix it but everthing they tried failed ,they formatted did something with java and changed some setting i was thinking maybe it has to with the my Mac for some help
