Captivate, Indesign, Dreamweaver - app
I was wondering if it is possible to integrate resources from captivate (quizzes), as well as dreamweaver (some activities created using hotpotatoes - namely the crossword puzzles) into an app for the ipad?
I think that indesign is a viable option to organize the app right now but was looking for some insight...thanks

Captivate to dreamweaver to phonegap
I currently have an app that I am building on dreamweaver and exporting using phonegap build...
I would like to incorporate some content created on captivate but when I try to build the app with the captivate files it is too big to build...(and there are only 5 questions and no video or audio)...wondering if anyone has gone this route of captivate-dreamweaver-phonegap and if so what settings are best for this workflow...thanksHello There,
Which version of Captivate and Dreamweaver are you using? I was also experiencing size limit of 10mb during DW CS5.5 but it should not be the case with CS6. Meanwhile, can you try making captivate output within 10mb and see if it helps?

My request is that I be allowed to download the InDesign CC app please., even though I previously mistakenly downloaded InDesign CC (2014) TODAY…and later had to un-install it. I take it you want to download InDesign CC 9.2 (the version before InDesign CC 2014). You can do so from the Creative Cloud desktop app. Below the list of apps you've installed, there is a menu that lists previous versions:

I'm sorry to have to tell you that the PhoneGap interface has changed since that video was made: you can no longer simply upload files, but instead have to work through a github account.
I tried to do this, but failed: the Github interface and workflows were completely incomprehensible to me.
So, back to square 1: Could you tell us how to convert a Captivate file to an iPad app?

[JS CS3, Win] Saving InDesign using app.activeDocument.save
Hello.
I am having problems saving an InDesign document using Javascript.
My aim is to have a box in the document where I will type the filename and path where I want the InDesign file to be saved (eventually this will be generated from a datamerge).
I then want to run a script which will read the contents of the box and then save the document to that filename or location.
At the moment I have:

When I run the script (with "Hello" in the FileNameBox) the file changes name on the top bar of InDesign to "Hello.indd", but (when I run the commented out alert at the end) the file is not actually saving anywhere.
If I close InDesign and then open it the file is listed under "Open Recent" on the menu, but clicking it does nothing - again the file doesn't exist.
Does anyone have any ideas to help me from tearing my hair out?
Where is my file saving? (Or, if it isn't, how can I make it save!).

Best way to get a preview of an InDesign made App to a client?
I think this is best suited for the InDesign forum, as I want to stay with exporting my projects as a flash file, interactive DPF, etc rather than the app I am trying to create.
I am working on an interactive app for a client half way around the world. He does not have an iPad, iPhone and is likely using a windows-based system for his computer (I'm using a Mac). The app has some slide shows and a few buttons to take the users from one page to another. Since he does not have an iPad or InDesign, I can't send him anything out of the box that he can see. I've tried Interactive PDF's and Flash files, but nothing seems to work with the slide shows (doesn't make ANY sense that they can't but there you go.)
I need to show my client as much as I can about the app to get them to sign off on it. I understand allowing something like the table of contents to extend from one page to another with hyperlinks is asking a lot, but the pages contents and slide shows is non-negotiable...gotta find a way to do it.
Any suggestions?
Thanks.If they download Adobe Content Viewer, you could send them a .folio file and they could preview that on a desktop computer. You might zip the .folio file and send to them; instruct them to unzip it and drag it onto the viewer window of Adobe Content Viewer.

Command 'H' doesn't always hide Dreamweaver app
Such a useful shortcut but it seems very sporadic in the way that it works since the update to CS6. Sometimes it hides the app and sometimes it just does nothing. Used to work fine.
Sort-of related issue: I feel DW CS5 already hides too much, so I would never be tempted to use Command-H. For me, DW's windows completely disappear when I switch focus to the Finder or another app. This makes documenting procedures (or bugs) in DW particularly hard. The only work-around I've found so far is to use a timed screen Grab. The only way to see DW windows and write about them, say, in TextEdit. It is also inconsistent with the behavior of most Mac apps in general.
I've been unsuccessful finding any clues about how to disable this behavior, so --clutching at straws-- I'm hoping that people who actually seek it might know more.
Hmmm, if DW includes a "Hide Dreamweaver" command, is it kind of weird that this function occurs automatically as well, without (so far as I've found) any user option to disable it?
OK, you folks are talking about CS6. Maybe DW has changed significantly in this area. But maybe not.

We are trying to deploy Indesign CS6 using App-V 5 on provisioned Xenapp 6.5 servers. I have tried different solutions without any luck.
Making an install packet using AAMEE 3.1. Sequencing packet in App-V. According to the AAMEE manual this would remove the “machine dependency” in the packet and serializing it.
Using this solution we are able to start Indesign once on every server. The next time we try to start it crashes. We can see it starts up adobe_licutil.exe just before chashing.
We have also tried using adobe_prtk.exe to serialize the installation using prov.xml without any luck.
Can anyone point us in the right direction? AAMEE or Trial with adobe_prtk.exe, a combination or something else?

Sorry again for the confusion. I thought you were trying to deploy CS4. For CS6 please refer the CS6 deployment guide: http://wwwimages.adobe.com/www.adobe.com/content/dam/Adobe/en/devnet/creativesuite/pdfs/Ad obeApplicationManagerEnterpriseEditionDeploymentGuide_v_3_1.pdf.
There are two ways we can serialize a file:
1. Using AAMEE 3.1 and creating a serialize file and running it on the machine to license the software. Detailed information is mentioned in the guide above.
2. Using APTEE for serialization. Please refer the kb: http://wwwimages.adobe.com/www.adobe.com/content/dam/Adobe/en/devnet/creativesuite/pdfs/Ad obe_Provisioning_Toolkit_Enterprise_Edition_v5.pdf.
However as mentioned in my earlier thread please refer the kb: http://helpx.adobe.com/creative-suite/kb/technical-support-boundaries- virtualized-or.html for suppot boundries related to virtualized enviroment.

I am trying to open the InDesign trial app and it won't open
I downloaded the CS6 trial. I am trying to open InDesign from the Adobe Application Manager and it won't open. I am using a MacBook Pro. It has downloaded the trial and I've done the getting started tutorial but the application itself won't launch.

Embedding Captivate in Dreamweaver
Is it possible to embed captivate lessons/files as windows inside of website created with Dreamweaver? I looked but couldn't find any posts regarding this topic. Thanks in advance.
Just to add to MIchael's post if I may. Here is an example of how at work we use Captivate SWF files on a web page creaed using Adobe Dreamweaver. One of the great things about Adobe Dreamweaver CS4 is that you can actually preview your SWF files in Design view, thanks to the new Live view that was introduced into DW CS4.
