Captivate  to soundbooth workflow with eLearning Suite CS4

I have looked in the Captivate manual, forums, and Soundbooth tutorials and cannot
find exactly how to export my audio from captivate to soundbooth and back.  I only find snippets that I should be able to do it.  I want to standardize the narration levels in my project from slide to slide.  Then, I would like to mass import back into Captivate without having to each each slide individually which would take forever.
Thanks in advance for any help on this or even a link where I can read the info.

Hello There,
Which version of ELS are you using? If it is ELS 2.0, then you can roundtrip between Captivate 5 and Soundbooth CS5. We did not have Roundtripping with Soundbooth feature with ELS 1.0.
When you have installed eLearning Suite 2.0, this option is available when we edit the Project audio. Go to Audio Menu>Edit>Project. In the Edit Project Audio dialog, you will see "Edit with Adobe Soundbooth..." Button. Once you click that button, soundbooth opens and you can do the editing.
Thanks,
Vish

  • Captivate 6 upgrade DVD and eLearning suite 2

How do I get Captivate 6 DVD upgrade to recognize the Captivate 5 in eLearning suite 2, so I can use the product serial number I just purchased?

If you had previously purchased the e-Learning Suite that contained Captivate 5, and you now only have an upgrade license key for the Captivate 6 application on its own, then you may be in for a disappointment.
Apps that came as part of an Adobe suite usually need to be upgraded by another version of the same suite, not individually.
I sincerely hope I'm wrong.  But that's the way I understand the licensing to work.

I was able to load Creative Suite 5.5 to the new laptop without any problems.

  • Enabling eLearning Suite features in Captivate

    Hi,
I have a subscription for Captivate and I also have a subscription for Creative Cloud...
I know that when we install Captivate as part of the eLearning Suite, we have additionnal features (like Photoshop, Flash and Audition buttons enabled, allowing us to edit directly in those softwares from Captivate).
Having already all those softwares from my Creative Cloud membership, it wouldn't be logic to have the eLearning Suite as well... but there should be a way to enable these features (by editing a config, xml or else file) by turning a true/false variable or specifying a path for those software somewhere? Does the eLearning suite really installs a software, or just enables some features (already there with the other softwares)? Adobe should provide a file to enable these features for people like me...
Any idea? Anybody was able to enable those features (without requiring to have the entire suite)?

    Hi there
Sorry, but only the eLearning Suite offers the integration you mention. Doesn't make a bit of difference whether you already have the apps or not. ( I know, it defies all logic. )
About all you can do at this point is voice your displeasure to Adobe at http://www.adobe.com/go/wish. Perhaps if they hear from enough users they will eventually change the way things operate.
    Cheers... Rick

  • ELearning Suite dead?

I just looked on Adobe TV for the videos Adobe had there on Captivate  4 and they are gone. Searching Adobe's web site there is very little  there.
Could be because eLearning Suite is CS4 centric and we are now in a CS5 world.
Go to http://www.adobe.com/products/creativesuite/compare/ and you will not see the eLearning Suite CS5. In fact finding the eLearning Suite on Adobe's site is not easy. If you don't know about it your not going to learn about it here.
Glad I bought the stand alone Captivate 4 and not the eLearning Suite (see my comments on the captivate forum, Feb. 2009). I would not recommend buying the eLearning Suite CS4 at this time . But then I never have.
My opinion: Adobe - Great products , on the eLearning side poor marketing , overall useless   tech support.
    Me venting

Steve I do disagree with you that the eLS needs all the other components to be finnished first. I was a product manager in a past life. That's like the DW product manager saying that Flash has to be finished before DW can be released. All the suite products need to come together at the same time and they can.
I was on the beta cycle for eLS 1. If there was a beta cycle for some upcoming eLS 2 I would be on that too. But I wouldn't be allowed to tell you I was. cough
It might seem illogical to you, but form my viewpoint, it is best for the eLS to be out of synch because the eLS versions of Flash, DW, Device Central, PhotoShop, SoundBooth and Presenter all have customizations that do not exist in the other CSx suites.
I do agree that the eLS may be released in a few months but thats unfair to customers that want to make an early decession on which Suite to go with.
That is definitely a pain. But as customers, it is in your (and my) best interests to keep your ear to the ground about product releases, and to keep in mind 'normal' release cycles - e.g. Adobe runs on a pretty consistent 18 month cycle of major releases... corporate budget cycles don't really run in sync with Adobe's own cycle ...
Adobe needs to either add the eLS to the rest of the suites or drop it. " http://www.adobe.com/products/creativesuite/compare/ "
BTW Steve you are always positive and helpful. Don't stop and become a cynic like me.
Oh I have my fair share of cynicism
    Steve

  • Can't Install eLearning Suite

I'm having trouble installing the eLearning Suite CS4 (Windows XP) I just purchased. I had Dreamweaver CS4, uninstalled it and tried installing the suite. During the installation process it crashed my computer. I found a tech note that said to run the CS4Clean Script. I did that but it still crashed during install. I tried just installing Dreamweaver and that was successful. It installed Device central, Ext. manager and Bridge as well but I can't install any other products such as Captivate, Photoshop or Flash.
I found another tech note that suggested disabling startup items and services and that didn't work either. I did notice that I have a few CS3 programs still on my computer but would that create this problem? Any advice? Thanks in advance!

    Hi there
Sorry to hear of the issues. Likely you will need direct assistance from Adobe to get things installed. Have you tried contacting them?
Just a note here. There is no version of Captivate CS4. CS refers to the Adobe Creative Suite. Captivate is not part of that suite. There is only Captivate 4.

  • As of March 2014, does the eLearning Suite come with Capitvate 7 or Captivate 6?

Hi! I am new to eLearning and am considering getting the eLearning Suite. However, the website says that the Suite only offers Captivate 6 versus the new a la carte release of Captivate 7. I asked one of the LiveChat people and they said the Suite comes with 7, however, I do not think they are correct.
Could someone please clarify... it looks as if Captivate 7 is much better than 6, but I really don't know.
I currently own the Master Collection (Creative Suite 5) and am proficient in Premiere, After Effects, Photoshop and Illustrator, but would like to make the jump into eLearning and am trying to decide between the eLearning Suite, just Captivate, or even Adobe Edge Animate. Any help or advice is appreciated.
    Thank you, SKCgirl

    Hi There,
    Welcome to Adobe Forums.
There is no such known issue that eLearning Suite installation is crashing MS Office or other Microsoft products.
    Please try this:
    1) If you are connected in a domain then first logon to a local admin account or in the built in administrator account.
    2) Disable the third party services and startup items on the computer as per http://support.microsoft.com/kb/929135 and after restarting the computer install eLearning Suite.
    3) If eLearning Suite and MS Office or other Microsoft products work fine together then enable the services and startup items and restart the computer. Check again.
Please let me know if that helps.
Also let me know if you have anyother Adobe product installed in the computer.
    Thanks

  • Adobe eLearning Suite 2 Workflows link in Windows START Menu fails

I just recently purchased the Adobe eLearning Suite 2 and I get an error message when I click on the following link:
Start - All Programs - Adobe eLearning Suite 2 - Adobe eLearning Suite 2 Workflows
Error message is within an Adobe Air dialog box - This installation of this application is damaged.  Try re-installing or contacting the publisher for assistance.
    The link points to: "C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Adobe\Adobe eLearning Suite 2 Workflows\en_US\Main.exe"
My first question is: What happens when you click on this link?  Is there any utility behind it that will help me in my workflows?  Am I wasting my time to try and find out what this link does?
I reached out to technical support and after several calls and being tossed around to several departments, they ultimately said my version of Windows was not supported by eLearning Suite 2.  One guy (Application Specific queue) said he tried it on his machine and got the same error but he couldn't help me because it was an installation issue and that I would have to open a sevice contract ($40.00) to get help with this problem and dumped me back to the installation folks who told me my machine was not supported.  What the??
I found the support page for the suite and it just says "Windows 7."   I opened up a CHAT dialog box on the same page and that person "Scott" told me that all versions of Windows 7 are supported for the suite.
I'm running Windows 7 Pro 64bit on my PC.  The eLearing Suite 2 website says the system requirements support "Windows 7."  My assumption is that the suite is supported on my machine.
My next question now is: Is my Windows 7 version supported (Yes or No)?  If so, then why doesn't the above mention link work?
If anyone has any insight, I'd appreciate your help.

I have tried the above solution to no avail. It seems the root cause of the problem is incompatibility with the new version of AIR
Here's a link to another thread with the same problem
    http://forums.adobe.com/thread/677258
Surely a multimillion dollar company like Adobe which is trying to be very customer orientated can afford to get the original creator of Workflows to provide an updated version of the program which will work with the latest version of AIR

  • OT: Adobe eLearning Suite 2.5 with my Production Premium Suite CS55

    Hey gang,
I already have the Adobe Creative Suite 5.5 Production Premium suite but I realized I need Dreamweaver now.  I also would like Captivate (not available in other suites) and it seems I can upgrade from my current to suite to a "Adobe eLearning Suite 2.5" for $399 that has both programs and sounds reasonable to me.  That eLearning Suite has already a lot of the programs from my ProPro suite.   Will that cause any problems for installation when I buy it as a download or will it just know that I already have version of Photoshop,  Acrobat X etc... already installed.   Sorry, if this sounds dumb but I don't know how these two suites would interact.
    cheers,
    Peter

Here's the answer to add to the knowledge base on this group.
I bought/downloaded the eLearning Suite 2.5 and I tried to install it.   Of course it first asked for the suite serial # that worked, but then it asked for a serial # of a valid upgrade product.  One had to select a product from the list but the Creative Suite 5.5 Production Premium was not in the list and my serial # from it did not work when entered with any other product.
When you go to click on the buy button for the eLearning Suite 2.5, it gives you option to upgrade with CS55 Pro Prem.  Though in the "Buying guide : Upgrade eligibility tab", the suite is not mentioned.    http://www.adobe.com/products/elearningsuite/buying-guide-new.displayTab2.html
Strangely enough, I did buy Photoshop CS2 separately a long time ago and that serial # was recognized as the upgrade product during the installation process.  I did not carry through with that installation because of these new impending "1 back" upgrade policies, so I phoned Adobe and they gave me a new serial # for the eLearning suite and I didn't require a secondary upgrade number.  8-)
During installation, it showed me a dialog box of things already installed  (i.e.  Photoshop, Audition).    Needless to say, everything is now installed and everything works like a charm.
The reason why I bought this suite is because I wanted Captivate and it is not in the Master Collection (I thought as an upgrade possibility) and I really need Dreamwaver as well.
    cheers,
    Peter

  • I am migrating from Tech Comm Suite, eLearning Suite, and Captivate licenses to a subscription model.  I need help.

I already have an Adobe account that is associated with my work email.  We had purchased the Tech Comm Suite for Captivate and the eLearning Suite.  Adobe is not offering Captivate 8 as part of an eLearning Suite, but I DO need to upgrade.  I also would like to keep the other apps in both suites up to date, so we want to purchase a Creative Cloud subscription.  I don't have a clue where the serial numbers are kept, and as far as I know, the serial numbers don't show up anywhere in the app anymore.  Additionally, I cannot enter the billing information for my subscription because we have to make the purchase on a p-card owned by our administrative assistant.  So what I want to know is how to purchase a subscription for both Creative Cloud and Captivate that is associated with my email account without giving my login information to the administrative assistant?
Is it possible to purchase a team subscription and add my email address to the team?  I have to give explicit instructions to our admin.

  • Switching Accounts from Creative Cloud to Captivate eLearning Suite

I have a membership with Creative Cloud and would like to add Captivate because I want to get into eLearning. Unfortunately that is not possible as far as I'm aware because Captivate is not available in Creative Cloud. So I'd like to switch my accounts from Creative Cloud to Captivate eLearning Suite 6.1. I don't want to keep both since it would duplicate the Adobe products I currently use, such as Photoshop, Flash, and Acrobat. Is it possible to switch my present account to Captivate eLearning Suite? Or do I need to cancel one, then sign-up for the other?

    Hi Dave,
    many thanks for your help.
I tried your steps, but i have no success. After i launch Photoshop in step four, the EULA dialog popus up. I can then use Photoshop. But after i close and reopen it, the dialog extend my membership is shown up.
If i then click on "License this software" it can use Photoshop until i close it. The message is "Creative Cloud membership is active now ...."
I tried also the button "retry" then a message shows up "Thanks, your abonnement for Adobe Photoshop CS6 is active. You can click on next ...". Then the dialog extend my membership shows up again and i can't use Photoshop.
Sorry for the translation of the dialogs, i use the german version, so i don't know the exact words in English.
I think i have to contact Adobe support or cancel my new membership in the next days.
Many thanks for your help again!
    Bye,

  • Has anyone else had Windows Explorer or MS Office products crash with the eLearning suite installed?

I'm running Captivate 6.0.1. I frequently experience Microsoft Windows Explorer crashing or any of the MS Office products crashing as well (Word, Office, etc). Our office is running Windows 7. I'm the only person in our 250+ employee organization who experiences this problem but I'm also the only one with Adobe eLearning Suite Installed. Our I.T. dept has even rebuilt my machine from a clean install and the problem is still there. I'm not sure if it's Adobe related but that's what I suspect is the problem. Any one have any ideas or has this happened to anyone else? Thanks. BTW, there are 2 other staff here that have Captivate installed but not the full e-learning suite and they don't have this problem.
