Captivate won't accept audio from my headphones

The hardware is working fine, but Windows is spewing errors
such as:
AdobeCaptivate.exe - Application error : The instruction at
"0x08f4c01" referenced memory at "0x01d71fb4". The memory could not
be "read".
And...
PpsWaveRecord: AdobeCaptivate.exe - Application Error: The
exception unknown software exception (0x0eedfade) occurred in the
application at location 0x77e738b2.
And...
PpsWaveRecord: AdobeCaptivate.exe - Application Error: The
instruction at "0x08f4c21d" referenced memory at "0x00000008". The
memory could not be "read".

Hi marbreath and welcome to our community
By chance do you have a RealTek sound card in your PC? If you
aren't sure, press and hold your Windows logo key followed by the
Pause/Break key. This should produce the System Properties dialog.
From there, click the Hardware tab and finally the Device Manager
button. This should produce the Device Manager dialog. Expand the
Sound, video and game controllers area. See if anything in that
area relates to RealTek.
If so, you may be interested in the Captivate Hotfix
described at
this link.
Other than that, I'm a bit stumped.

How do I play audio from my headphone jack and internal speakers at the same time ? I have a splitter for my audio jack so that when i connect up my second monitor I can have it so it also plays audio as well as anything else i have connected into the jack but how do i let the internal speakers emit sound at the same time?

If you mean the internal speakers in your Mac, you can't play audio through them at the same time you have anything plugged into the headphone jack. When you plug something into the headphone jack, it disconnects the internal speakers.

No audio from MacBook headphone jack

For all of you wondering why your headphone jack stopped working and start thinking is hardware related, i've got a solution i wanted to post here.
After the last update i made ,i found out that on system preferences u don't have a headphone output until you plug the earphones, so check that when u plug them the mute checkbox is unchecked since the speakers and headphones volume choices are different from each other, so while in one is working u plug the headphones and then its mute for that one, what makes u think is not working.

No audio from speakers, headphones work just fine

Hello everybody!
I have a problem with my speakers can anyone help me? I have a satellite L855 laptop with realtek HD audio and windows 8. I was playing some civ 5 last night when my computer suddenly freezed. When i restarted the computer had a system update. After the system update the sound does not work from the internal speakers.
Headphones work just fine though and everything looks normal (the green "sound bars" are moving even though i don't have sound).
i have checked the device manager and everything looks just fine.
I have updated my realtek drivers but it didn't help.
I have double checked and nothing is muted.
I have no idea what might've gone wrong, everything works perfectly except the speaker audio. I just bought this computer a week ago and i would be really pissed if i already had to get it to a repair station.
Can anyone please help me?

Try a System Restore back to just before you processed the "System Update". From the Start screen, type "System Restore" and select Settings at the upper right and then click on "Create a Restore point" at the upper left and follow directions.

You not able to here sound from your head phones.
With sound it could be a lot of different things.
Here is a link that will walk you through some troubleshooting steps for the audio.
Your easiest fix since everything was working before the driver update is a System Restore.
This will take the system back to when everything was working correctly without affecting your personal files.

IPhone won't accept charge from wall or computer. Tried everything

So, my phone came back from the shop just over a week ago. It went in about three weeks ago because my mate accidentally shattered the screen. Oops. So it went in, and £75 and one week later it came out again. But the proximity sensor didn't work. So it went back in again for another week and another £60 for that. Got it back last week, all in good working order (except the screen flickers slightly and fades at the edges but I can live with that), now I've just got back from Germany where it was working and charging fine, but now it won't charge at all. On Friday night I let it charge overnight on the wall power socket, and for some reason when I woke up in the morning it was only at 75%. Hmm. But yesterday it hit 0% and turned off completely and it won't charge at all. Not from a computer, wall socket or whatever. I've tried different cables, different plug sockets and it still doesn't work. So it must be my iPhone. Also, my iPod Touch charges fine off of the places. I did ring Apple and the bloke on the phone said I've been ripped off, because Apple would have REPLACED the phone for £125 over the counter! I'm out of warrenty so I now have two options
Part with more money to the shop (£45) and another week
Go all the way to Bath (my nearest Apple store, about 43 miles away) and ask a Genius (probably going to be £126 to replace)
Is there anything else I can do? I've tried the home and power button thing. No luck. Anybody suggest anything else?

Check the bottom of the iPhone and make sure there is no lint or debris on the connector that the power/sync cord attaches to. Also with a very low battery, you may have to let the iPhone charge several minutes before you get any indications. If none of the above solves the problem, try another cable. You might also want to try a car charger if you've got one.

I have the same trouble with my 002 and Logic Pro. But I can hear imported pre-recorded material from Logic Pro through the 002 hardware.
I have set up another post under the title of Digi 002 to solve these problems if that is a help. If you find out what to do please let me know.

Premiere Pro CC won't play audio from video file

I've been trying to edit videos recorded with Bandicam in Premiere Pro CC. The video file itself is fine, when I play it in Windows Media Player it all checks out, but once I get it into a sequence in Premiere Pro CC despite it showing the audio track, and turning the volume to max, there's no sound! How do I get it to pick up the audio that I KNOW is there?

IChat Won't Accept People From My Address Book

I have been using an AOL screen name for years and today decided to move on and simply use my me.com account from now on.
I entered iChat 4.0.8 on Leopard and removed my AOL username from iChat, and added a new account with my MobileMe username.
Oddly, none of my friends already in my address book showed up in the window that opened. Not even as 'Offline'. Isn't iChat supposed to see those names and list them as Buddies since I took the time to add their screen names to my Address Book?
If I manually drag a name from AddressBook to one of iChat's lists - the name flashes in the list for a moment then disappears?
I tried trashing iChat's prefs and starting from scratch with it, but it hasn't helped...
How do I get Address Book to play nice with iChat like it's supposed to?

I went to the apple store and they told me to Reset the iPad (That means every downloaded app will be deleted so they've advised me to back it up on my iCloud account or in iTunes account using my PC) I dont wanna do it since I can still use my BB Curve mobile hotspot. It connects to my ipad by disabling the password of the hotspot. I havent tried disabling the hotspot password on my iPhone 5 (I don't know how to do it) I haven't tried reseting the iPad yet but it might helpful to you.

No Audio from the headphone plugin

I've tried plugging my ipod into three different types of speakers. I'm not getting any sound coming through any of the speakers.

I don't believe the standard headphones are equipped
with a built-in microphone, so I don't see how any

MBP won't accept input from keyboard seemingly at random

Recently (the past couple of months) I have been having this weird problem with my 2008 MBP. I will try to input something using the keyboard (type in a URL in the browser, type in my name and password to give my kid extra time on parental controls, type a reply on a message board), and I can't type anything. I hear that little bong, bong at each keypress, like I am doing something wrong, and nothing appears. I will have to close and reopen Firefox (usually works), or just restart my computer.
Has anyone else had this kind of thing happen? It happens so randomly I haven't been able to guess what might be causing it. Thanks.

This is a bit of a wild guess. Try a PRAM reset. It can do no harm.
