Hi Expert,
I am pavan, new to this technology. i had one question. i just want to capture errors during the run of etl process.
means when i run the etl process,if any errors occur during the run those error records should be captured in a separate table. how do i do this.

If you're talking about capturing the error records during the execution of a mapping as part of the ETL, you could do it by defining business rules and making use of the error/shadow table option. Those records violating the business rule(s) wil be redirected into the error table you've previously assigned to the target table.

I have created a Warehouse Builder repository on database(Version 11.1.0.7) server and installed Standalone OWB 11.2 on the client machine. However while connection from client pc it is throughing error like:

You need to access the repository version with a compatible client.
Which OWB version are you trying to use?
There is a section below on using the standalone install which will let you use OWB 11gR2 for example with a 10gR2, 11gR1 or 11gR2 database.

Capturing errors when you run mappings.

Hi all,
Your help is appreciated. Thanks in advance.
My questions are.
1. How do you run mappings using sqlplus and run these mappings as a Batch in windows.
2. How do i capture errors without stopping the batch process. If there are any errors it should write to the error table and go on.
3. I am not using any process flow So i need to now how to call all the mappings one by one and writing the errors to the error table.
4. Does warehouse builder has a built in error table to use. If so how do you use it and what is the table name.
5. If i have to schedule these mappings how do i do it.
6. what is the difference between oem_exec_template.sql and sql_exec_template.sql
I am using owb 10.2 version. Anyone out Please help me out. I really appreciate your help. If you have any sample code too that will help.

Check these two scripts: sqlplus_exec_background_template.sql and sqlplus_exec_template.sql

While I was trying the OWB Tutorial (Chapter "Ensuring Data Quality"), I got an error in the deployment of the MAP_MATCH_MERGE_CUSTOMERS_STG Mapping. Oracle generated the following wrong code in the MAP_MATCH_MERGE_CUSTOMERS_STG package:

This seems simply a syntax error...look at the line
644 in your mapping code (package body) and it
shudn't be difficult to rectify...if still get
problems post the code here on the forum..I get the same error when I deploy any mapping with a match/merge operator. I have owb version 10.1.0.4.0 too.
here is the function that causes the error:

the problem is "( = )". i guess that there's something missing before and after "=", but I don't have any idea of what it should be.
there must be something wrong in warehouse builder: it can't force me to correct the code it generates every time I deploy any mapping with match/merge!

Error: Executing OWB Scripts Outside the OWB Tool

We aim to extract OWB scripts (ddls, pl/sql, etc) and run them outside of the OWB tool in Beta and Production.
Thus far, were able to execute ddls and compile OWB generated pl/sql procedures. Were encountering errors on all attempts to execute the pl/sql code outside of OWB.

OWB generates mapping as package of procedures. This package has the only external procedure/function (depend on OWB version: 9.2.0.4 - function, prev. releases - procedure).
So, mapping that you have deployed could be executed by the following code (as for 9.2.0.4 version of OWB):

General Capture error,capturing straight to MacBook via Firewire 400 to 800

Hi guys,
I'm on a shoot now and whilst I'm capturing straight from my Z7 into the Macbook (going from Firewire 400 to 800), occasionally after the capture I get a 'General capture error' and I lose the footage! Obviously it's backed up on tape so it's okay but this is kinda frustrating, do you think it's an issue with the fact that I'm going from 400 to 800?
I've tried altering the Easy Setup a few times, still having the error.

In the System Settings/Scratch Disk tab, try activating the "Limit Capture Now To" function. Type in whatever is the longest session you expect to record.
If you don't activate this feature, FCP has no idea how much material to expect and assumes you will need to fill up your harddrive.
Let us know if that helps.

BTW...why don't you tell us exactly what format the Z7 is recording and what your capture settings are. Might also include exact versions of OS/FCP/QT.
You may just be choking the macbook, by attempting to capture directly to your internal hd.

You need iTunes 10.0 or greater to update your phone...iTunes isn't confused at all. If you're on a Mac, you'll need OS X 10.5.8 or greater to update iTunes to 10.0 or greater.

I cannot reinstall I-tunes and QuickTime. I keep getting error " The older version of Quick Time cannot be removed. Contact your technical support group."

Capturing error records and messages in BDC ?

I am recording a infotype using BDC recording and I got successfull updation in recording.But I dont want the output message generated by BDC recording which is obtained by perform bdc_transaction using 'pa30' generated by recording.
I want to capture the success pernr values and its correponding messages in a seperate internal table.Then want to capture error pernr values and its messages in a seperate internal table.
Give me sample coding to fetch those values. Think that my internal table which contains pernr values for recording is int_0007.from this internal table I am recording values.Give me coding to collect success anf error pernr values and its messges in seperate internal table.

Try updating the Media Player while using Internet Explorer. The Windows Updates site uses ActiveX to perform its' functions. Firefox doesn't support ActiveX.

Hello,
CM2012 R2 RTM on Server2012 R2 RTM with SQL2012 SP1
installed SQL, WSUS and then CM.
When finished adding WSUS, there was a post installation message but I skipped it and continued to CM installation, as suggested on some blogs. WSUS in CM seems to be a real mystery... and there are multiple workarounds and suggestions.
Now my CM is ready to GO. Configured discovery, boundaries. All components appear green OK. My hand shaked when I click on post Deployment message related to WSUS in server manager. So I clicked it. And received: Post Deployment Failed. There is
a path to log file. The error:
Fatal Error: The schema version of the database is from a newer version of WSUS
than currently installed. You must either patch your WSUS server to at least
that version or drop the database. WSUS was installed with SQL DB.
What do you suggest?

1. I uninstalled WSUS, removed DB, restarted. And reinstall WSUS again. This time MS Management Console of WSUS could not be started. I did it after WSUS was added following your blog pix.
I checked c:\program files\update services, there were couple of missing directories by comparison what was in case when I installed WSUS after SQL but before CM: Tools, Shema, and another A.. something. I saw this issue on NOOB. And people copied these
directories from previous installation.
How we can explain this behavior on RTM version?
Then I uninstalled it again. And give another try... Here I found another interesting thing. Please compare your slide number 5 from your link and attached one. You can see that on Add Roles and Features Wizard page are missing items. Some
of them were found in next screen of my installation (I am using RTM server) but one API and Power shell cmdlets were not listed on final screen before start install. May be those are note important...
I reinstall again... and the MS Management Console fails again. Exactly the same thing that I saw during 2 weeks of trying to make works. Don't see what I can screw up here.
What about missing directories after reinstalling WSUS. Is that normal? And in IIS there is no WSUS.
I don't see here any difficult thing, just simple wizard... But it not works. Second CM server.
What I do wrong here to create a failure of MMC. There is any blog with examples of RTM Server 2012 and CM RTM. All stuff is 2012. So kind of guesses and no precise thing to do...
Sorry for my cry :). The only solution is to call MS and pay $250 for SUCH a trivial thing that not works.

Capture error premiere pro cs3

I've got an ongoing capture error in premiere pro cs3 (on Mac OSX).
At around the 9 minute mark of capturing, it stops and says 'Unknown recorder error'. The footage is still captured if I stop it straight away but lost if I leave it for a while. I'm using canon hv30 camera to capture dv footage (not hdv) and can't seem to solve it. Any suggestions?

Try a different capture utility. VideoHelp.com will list plenty of free alternatives. If they stumble as well, there ie likely something wrong with the tape at that spot.

I have an Airport Extreme as my wifi hub and an Airport Express to beam music. All of a sudden the Express stopped working and I get the error message "this version of Airport Utility does not support this base station". All my software is up to date and

I have a WiFi system in the house that uses the Airport Extreme for a hub and an older Express for sending music from my Mac to my sound system. Everything worked great till yesterday. When I go to Networks I see the Extreme and I see the Express but the Express is no longer connected and I get an error message "this version of AirPort Utility doesn't support this base station". Any ideas?

This sounds as if you have an older AirPort Express that is no longer supported by the newer Mavericks operating system.
To check and see if that might be the case, locate the model number on the side of the AirPort Express. It will start with an "A" followed by four numbers. Hard to see in the faint print.....so you may need reading glasses or a magnifying class to see the model number clearly.
Model numbers A1084 and A1088 of the AirPort Express are no longer supported by AirPort Utility in Mavericks.
You will need to use a Mac running Leopard, Snow Leopard, or a PC to be able to administer the older AirPort Express.
