Capture from DCR-TRV900E fails with FCE4 on Intel Mac, HELP ?

I tried to capture DV video with FinalCutExpress 4 on my Intel iMac 8.1, from my Sony DCR-TRV900E camcorder. FCE4 replies that it "cannot connect to the device, perhaps because it is blocked by another device or due to a bad cable". The same camcorder, connected with the same cable to an older PowerBook G4 running FCE2.0.3, is immediately recognized and enables me to capture successfully. When connected to the Intel iMac, the camcorder is seen properly by System Profiler under FireWire.

After many attempts, I noticed the following (that is reproducible):
1- the problem shows up when I have 4 external hard disks connected as a daisy chain to the firewire 800 plug of my iMac 8.1. The 4 hard disks were all powered, and the problem exists even when the disks are "unmounted". The camcorder is connected to the firewire 400 plug.
2- the problem does not show up when only 2 of the hard disks are connected are connected. Note that I have never encountered any other difficulty with that daisy chain of 4 hard disks.
Is this behavior "normal", has it been seen by anyone else ?

Notes: I just upgraded to OS X Yosemite 10.10.1 on my iMac (27-inch, Mid 2011) in the last week. It’s the first time I’m tried to backup/update my iPad since the iMac update.
I swapped out the USB cable to a new cable and get the same results.
I also unplugged all other USB devices from the iMac and security on my iPad and still get the same results.
I find it strange that it shows no Serial number for my my iPad 2 when plugged in. It shows “Serial Number: n/a on the screen when it displays: “iPad Recovery Mode To update your iPad without erasing its contents, click Update. To restore your iPad to its factory settings, click Restore iPad.
I prefer to update my iPad, but it displays “Your iPad can’t be updated, you must restore it to factory settings. If you previously backed up the iPad, click Restore Backup after the restore process completes.”
It’s a continuous loop. I get the display on my iPad to plug in the iPad to iTunes, plug it in which ends after going through the above procedure saying an error occurred (9).
So now I cannot use my iPad. When I turn it on I get the display showing me to plug it into iTunes with the cable. Since this is the only option I have I plug it in and the loop begins.
Any advice would be appreciated.

Thanks for the question. After reviewing your post, it sounds like you are not able to restore the iOS device since you get an error 9. I would recommend that you read this article, it may be able to help the issue.

Check your security software
Related errors: 2, 4, 6, 9, 1000, 1611, 9006. Sometimes security software can prevent your device from communicating with either the Apple update server or with your device.
Check your security software and settings to make sure that they aren't preventing a connection to the Apple servers.

Why won't some of my numbers spreadsheets from my iPad open with iCloud on my Mac (Yosemite)? When I look at the files in FiNader there's a grey bar next to the files that won't open.

I am having the same problem. Created new spreadsheet on iPad with fresh iOS and Numbers installs (3/2015) and am unable to open this spreadsheet in iCloud in Safari on MacBook Air (all current). I get the following message:
"Sorry, something went wrong.
This spreadsheet can't be opened right now. Please try again later."
Tried reopening on Mac from iCloud and resaving; still cannot open.
Quick fix: Copying the spreadsheet content from the iPad spreadsheet to one created on the desktop recovers the ability to open it in iCloud in Safari.

Interlacing in capture from miniDV now occurs with upgrade to Win7 x64

Hi there...
this is my first attempt to post a question on the forum, so thankyou in advance for any help or advice.
I used to run Prem Pro CS4 on a Windows XP (32bit) system with no problems at all.
I since upgraded my OS to Win7 x64 and a perculiar thing happened - when capturing from MiniDV the capture preview is very interlaced -with camera motion. With capture complete and clips placed in the timeline, the interlacing is not at all evident. - it is only apparent at the capture stage.
Thinking it was my Nvidia 8600GT graphics card, I upgraded to Nvidia 9800GT (1GB) - still the same problem. RAM was also give an upgrade to 8GB.
I understand the concept behind interlacing - what has me puzzled is why with win7 this capture interlacing has happened and for the sake of clarity would love to have it rectified.
Otherwise Premiere runs smooth as silk.
Any thoughts or advide would be greatly appreciated

Upgrade to Windows 10 failed with error 80070714. Please Help!!!

Hi. I hope someone out there can help me!! I have tried numerous times to upgrade my HP Envy 15-K204NA from Windows 8.1 64-bit to Windows 10 Home, but it continues to fail with error code 80070714. I am using Bullguard Premium Protection and have Acronis True Image installed. I have disabled SQL services as suggested by other posts on the internet, but nothing seems to work. When I run the upgrade from a DVD burned from the ISO, it gets to 37% and then fails. Hope you can help. (fingers crossed!!) Hi Mumbodog and thanks for your reply. I have uninstalled Bullguard and tried the upgrade again, but it failed at the same point. I have also removed Acronis True Image and again it failed!! IMovie 5.0.2 from iLife '06 will not UPDATE on Intel Mac?

I brought over all my programs from my 12" G4 Powerbook to the new Mac Pro with Setup assistant. iMovie opened fine and seemed to work. A couple of weeks later, after doing regular software updates & working with it, etc., the Title function stopped working. Just does not show any options for titles under that spot in the menu.
I thought I would install it fresh and maybe that would take care of the problem, so I put in my iLife '06 DVD (pre Intel) and tried to install it. It was greyed out, so I thought it couldn't install it if there was a newer version on the computer, so I put it in the trash & deleted it. (Dumb, I know) & tried to reinstall but it is still greyed out. I figuered out this is probably because the older version of iLife '06 I have is not a Universal installer.
I copied the iMovie application from my Powerbook again, and now I have the PowerPC version of iMovie 5.0.2 on my Intel Mac, but when it tries to open it hangs. The instructions for opening programs with Rosetta doesn't work since there is no option to open with Rosetta in the Get Info for it.
How do I convert the 5.0.2 to iMovie 6 so I can update it to Universal?

Can't you re-run Setup Assistant to bring over iMovie HD 5 from your PowerBook again?
A "pre-Intel" (i.e; non-Universal) iLife '06 might not install on an Intel Mac (..but I don't know: I don't have an Intel Mac ..though I'd have guessed that you could install it and run it under Rosetta). It might be that your "receipts" are messed up (..in name-of-your-hard-disc>Library>Receipts>iMovie..pkg..) but don't go messing there unless you put the iMovie packages in a safe place {..Desktop..] and move them back into the Library again after you've finished fiddling about! You may need to remove later receipts in order to install an earlier version of the program.
But I don't have an Intel Mac, so can't advise further, sorry.

Problems with Safari, Acrobat, Intel Macs, and Life Cycle Form Mgr.

Here is my problem:
A Mac user using 10.4.10, with Acrobat Standard Ed v.7.0.9 installed,
is having to approve purchase forms through Adober Life Cycle Form Manager
through Safari 2.0.4. When trying to approve the PDF forms, it tells her
she needs to have Acrobat v.7 installed, and only shows a white page.
Went back and launched Acrobat 7.0.9, and did the "Detect and Repair"
setting to verify the Adobe PDFViewer plugin was installed.
Said it was, checked the Library/Internet Plugins folder and it was.
Launched Safari, Safari's list of plug-ins does not show it as being installed.
Trashed the Safari .plist file, relaunched Safari, same thing.
Read on the Apple site that people were experiencing similar issues,
Read on Adobe's site that for Intel Macs, should be using v. 8.01.
Downloaded the 8.01 Acrobat Reader and installed it.
re-launched Safari, success, it says the plugin, v.8.01 is installed.
Go back to Adobe Life Cycle Forms Manager, go to view a PDF,
at 100% screen size, PDF shows correctly. Zoom in on details,
PDF goes blank, will not show details. Zoom back out,
PDF goes white page, no info displayed.
My Questions:
1. is it an issue with Adobe Life Cycle Forms Manager and Safari on Intel Macs?
2. Is there a way to get a proper plug in for Safari, so that Acrobat will read the PDFs
instead of the default Preview?

Syncing with a non Intel Mac?

I have a new iMac that is running OS Lion.
I have an old machine that is non intel and cant run Lion.
I used to be able to sync calendars between my older non intel machines using Mobile me.
Now that I have updated my Mobile me account to iCloud, it looks like my new machine on iCloud is not syncing calendars at all with the non Intel machine.
Is there any way to keep the older machine in the loop with the syncing?

iCloud on a Mac requires Lion 10.7.2. All OSX before can't use iCloud syncing.
All you can do on non supported systems is using a modern browser to visit www.icloud.com for calendar,Adresses and Mail.

What kind of camcorder can I get with a non Intel Mac

I am looking to buy my first camcorder and plan to spend about $300.00. After reading the following quote about a Sony camcorder I am a bit concerned, as I do not have an intel mac, I have a iMac G5 Isight -2.1 cpu,2.5GB ram. I have iMovie 08 and Leopard. What kind of camcorder should I get with my set up?

Although list price is only about $200, with the extra battery(s?), Firewire cable, camcorder case, blank media, etc., that you will need if you do not already have them, $300 is not far off.
You can also consider other Firewire connected camcorders that are compatible with your Mac and OS.
Before I buy, I like to download the user guide for the camera I am considering and review it to be sure it does what I want. Regardless of which camcorder you are considering, if you cannot find the information about system compatibility in the camcorder's documentation, the retailer can help you find the information you need.

PST Capture to Office 365 fails with Import error : Error opening PST File

Already have all requirements: and tried to install in different environments like Server 2008r2 or Windows 8 (not 8.1)
PST Capture Console is installed on the Domain Joined Machine.
You have mentioned that the User Account (PST Capture Tool's Service Account) is a Local Administrator on the Machine running the Tool.
You also have the Outlook 2010 X64 installed
And you have created the outlook profile for that Service Account.
Also not have any non-email items on my pst, is only a test PST with 2MB emails as a test.
I came back from Office 365 forum and they said you are the best guys for this topic.

Finally make it work after 2 weeks of war. Is not a product that you can use in your production environment, because have several complains.
Only works with PST which have Mail items (non calendars, or task, or contacts) and even you can not have a folder structure inside your Inbox, so it is not worth it.

OLEDB select from Analysis Services fails with error codes 0x80040E21 and 0xC0202009

Hi,
In IS2008 SP1, I have an OLEDB source component that uses an Analysis Services OLEDB connection to run an MDX statement (set in the "SQL command text" property). This already worked for other cubes with the same MDX statement (apart from different hierarchy
and cube names) in several other IS packages.
But in this package, I keep getting the following errors when executing:

As usual with AS OLEDB, you get warnings for all columns that the data type is unknown and hence set to DT_WSTR(255). This is the case for the working packages and for the non-working one.
And when I click on the "Preview" button in the OLEDB source, I see the three column two row resultset as expected.
As I found some other posts with similar error messages that could be resolved by changing the 32 bit and 64 bit setting, I tried in BIDS 2008 (32 bit) on Vista 32 bit, dtexec 32 bit on the same computer, dtexec 64 bit and dtexec 64 bit on a Win2008 server,
all with the same results.
SQL Server Profiler shows that the MDX statement is executed without errors when running the package. I do not see any relevant difference between the working packages/cubes and those not working. I re-created the OLEDB source component several times, even
copied it over from a working package, and still have no success.
I even executed the statements in an XMLA sheet in Management Studio with the PropertyList taken from the trace, without seeing anything obvious in the result.
Any ideas what I could do to get this working?
Is there any reference explaining OLEDB error codes?

Hi,
I finally got it working. Re-creating the connection manager solved the issue. There was no difference between the not working and the working connection in the Connection Manager Editor. When I compared on XML source level in the package, I found that the
working version contained Format=Tabular in the connection string, while the not working version did not contain this.

to create a java stub to call external web service and then use java importer in oracle forms to call this web service from oracle forms.
WSDL for external web service used is http://www.webservicex.net/CurrencyConverter.asmx?wsdl
Calling the web service using JDeveloper works fine but from Oracle Forms returns ORA_JAVA.JAVA_ERROR; Unable to call out to Java, Invalid object type for argument 1
The code from oracle form to call web service is as below:

Yes, it is the message line - so basically this call fails => rv:= CurrencyConvertorStub.ConversionRate(jo,'CAD','USD'); and control goes in the exception block

File to convert to IDOC from bus.service failes with ALE#LI

Hello,
we habe implemented a scenario:
Non SAP system sends a structure to be uploaded to an R/3 system as IDOC.
All config looks fine.
We followed this description:

So system is identified in adapter specific data as log.sys. LS test1 .
But we have this error:
Unable to convert partner abc / ALE#LI into an IDOC partner (message in german, only translated)!
Does anybody has an idea what is wrong?
Is it necessary to have the log.sys name in the message e.g. in SNDPRN?
Here we have after mapping:

looks like I am not totally wrong here, but working together with externals who provide the outbound side is not really easy for testing.

In my opinion we have to implement in WE20 of receiver R/3 system a partner LI with this number A000000039 from the EDI DC 40 segment? And we need to add it as identifier LOGICAL with ALE#LI and this number A000000039.
R/3 consultant says he cannot do this in the receiver R/3 system because the sender is no supplier in his system!
