"Capture Noise Print" greyed out?

Hi, I'm new to Audtion, jumping over from using mostly Audacity.
I'm selecting at least 1 second of noise on a file in Multitrack, and the option to "capture noise print" is always greyed out.
Any help would be appreciated
Mac OSX

When I went from Effects / Noise Reduction / Capture Noise Print - is greyed out but when I went to Noise Reduction (Process) the I was able to Capture Noise Print.  This seemed like a fine work around but I'm not sure why the option doesn't work.  There was only a few seconds so I'm not sure but I guess its a non-issue.  Thanks for your time here!

  • Capture Noise Print (problem) - Soundbooth CS4

    Hello,
I am having a "Capture Noise Print" problem with Soundbooth CS4.
    I have 2 audio files:
File A (this is my noise print) I recorded a 4 minute file (.wav) of the ventilation system.
File B (this is the audio file that I want to improve: I want to remove the background noise of the ventilation system.
Q: How can I remove the background sound from File B using the noise print from File A?
I can only achieve this when both sounds are on the same file. Soundbooth CS4 doesn’t let me do this process when there are on separate audio files...(the box for "Capture Noise Print" is grey and cannot be selected)
    Thanks for your time.

I have the exact same problem... I do this..
    1.  Select 5 seconds of silence
    2.  Click Capture Noise Print
    3.  Select select a silent area
    4.  Click Noise..
    5.  Click "Preview".. whether On/Off buton is on/off, AND with Use Capture Noise Print selected, I hear no reduction.  Even at 100%/3dB
If I uncheck the "Use Captured Noise Print" option, then noise is removed, but I get the robotic voice
    CS5 latest updates.
    Any ideas?
    TIA
EDIT::  Interesting.. closing SB, then reopening seems to resolve the issue.  Every so often it does the same thing, so I have to close/reopen SB.

  • Capture Noise Print BUG??

I Just started using Soundbooth approximately 4 months ago since its the only audio software our business has currently.  I must say first before I jump into this problem, that this program is completely Anemic when it comes to audio editing.  I have read on this forum that it is intended to be a "Video and Flash Audio Quick editor" which is understandable given the spectrum of the most popular programs Adobe puts out.  What is not understandable is when you purchase a "Master Collection" you receive a crumb (Soundbooth) instead of a cookie (Audigy).
    Now to the issue.
I have no clue why this is currently being an issue for me.  I am currently trying to use the noise reduction technique ( select noise > Capture Noise Print > Noise > have Use Caputred Noise Print checked )  This is simply not working 75% of the time which is very frustrating since 25% of my Voice Overs for my project are Cleaned of a minor background noise while the other 75% are not.  Noise removal works just fine with the "use captured noise print" check box un-checked (aside from the robotic audio artifacts added) but for the majority of the time, when checked, the filter acts as if it is not even on.  This continues even with adjustment of the 2 sliders.
Any insight to this asinine issue would be very appreciated.  Sooner than later I am on a deadline.
    Thanks

  • Capture Noise Print doesn't stick

I had to reinstall Audition CC to restore broken Dynamic Linking with Premiere. Now, whenever I capture a Noise Print then open the Noise Reduction process, it hasn't retained the profile. I have to capture from within the NR process in order to get a print. Simple enough to do but was wondering if anyone else was experiencing this.

I've also had it happen before and, like you, assumed it was me so I didn't report it.
Today I was being fairly careful because I was going to write a "did you do xxx" reply to the OP--and my first try didn't retain the noise print where my second one on the same recording did.
One thing I noticed was that the graphic display appeared to give noise print details but they's wouldn't move when I adjusted the sliders.
Possibly an intermittant bug?  Certainly one to keep an eye on.
    Edited to add an update:
Playing with the NR and noise print, it appears that the first time after opening Audition, if you use "Capture Noise Print" (Cntrl P) from the main "twirl down" it doesn't stick.  Subsequent uses of the facility are fine but, once you've closed Audition and re-opened it, you get another "blank".  I suspect the reason I've not noticed this properly before is that I quickly learned there are fewer clicks to simply go into NR and grab the noise print from there rather than get one "on the way in" as it were.
Anyhow, that's what's happening on my machine.

  • Capture Noise Print button GREYED OUT

Has anyone a suggestion on the Subject above?  My button seems to be permanently greyed out.

Try making a selection in your file with the mouse NOT by double clicking the wavform.

  • Problem with HP 1220c USB printer - two-sided print greyed-out

My client has a Powerbook G4 550MHz with Tiger 10.4 installed and I installed the latest HP 1220c driver.
When my client attempted to configure the printer via the printer setup page under 'layout' the two-sided print is greyed-out. Why?
    My client has admin rights.

The layout of the print window is not the same as OS 9.x and prior. There will not be a choice for double sided printing as there was pre OS X unless the printer comes with an automatic duplexer.
You will have to figure out how to print odds and evens in separate jobs and do it manually.

  • Aperture printing greyed out after printing 1 image?

    HI
I print 1 image fron my library and the printer icon greys out and is non-functional. Why?
I can still print using the "Command" key+ "P "

Others have the same issue, with the import button being grayed out.  My trail copy expired, but I believe by poking around in the options and selecting another Aperture library and re-selecting, I was able to continue.
The problem is common enough, that hopefully Adobe will address.  In the mean time, try repairing your Aperture library, checking permissions, exporting a subset of your library for a test, or try putting that library subset on an external drive.  (Can usually avoid permissions issues.)

  • Lexmark X4550 Double Printing/Two Sided/Duplex Printing Greyed Out

    Hey all,
Been just over a week since I got my new MBP and while I can print wirelessly to my Lexmark printer, I can't get double sided printing to work - it's greyed out and unselectable.
I've tried various help pages on Lexmark's website, I've got the latest drivers for Leopard but it hasn't helped - as for Lexmark's support...pfft! I think they're all sleeping at work; phones are never answered.
It seems many people are experiencing the same on all various printer brands and someone had given a HP solution download but obviously it won't sort this LM printer out!
    Any ideas?
    Thanks!

Just another idea... Could it be that the option is greyed out because the printer doesn't have an automatic duplexer?
What I mean is that even when printing double sided from Windows, it would print a page and then I'd have to re-feed the page - so it's like manual double sided printing.
If so, is there an option somewhere else for manual duplex?

  • Two-sided printing greyed out (Phaser 6300)

So, in our office, there is only one Mac out of four that can access the two-sided printing options for our Xerox Phaser 6300. On all the other Macs, that option is greyed out. Yes, I've gone and made sure they all have the latest drivers installed etc. Anyone know what in the world might be missing, or needs to be done here?

Nevermind! I just figured it out. Apparently the same printer has two listings in the printer selection dialog. I just chose the other one and the option came back.
    Lesson learned.

  • Set Noise Print grayed out

I imported a Quicktime file with audio and video.
I selected a portion of the audio and went to Process, but "Set Noise Print" is grayed out.
    How can I fix this?

    Hi United18,
You need to first open the file in the waveform editor. You cannot perform this operation in a multitrack project. Once youve opened the file in the waveform editor (you should see just the mono or stereo audio for that one piece of media) then you'd typically select an area of noise (click drag to select) and then choose process->Set Noise Print. This noise print will be used if you then reduce noise using process->Reduce Noise.
I've found that it is good to experiment. There are some files where I've had better results just running reduce noise without a noise print, and some files where I've had fantastic results by first setting a good noise print.
Another tip is to audition just the noise to see if you hear any stuff that you don't want removed (e.g. dialog). If you audition just the noise (click the noise only checkbox), what you hear is what will get removed. If you hear bits of dialog that you don't want removed, try adjusting the settings until you don't hear these things in the "noise only" audition.
    I hope that helps.

  • Noise cancelling greyed out

    Hi gang,
Thanks for all the help thus far.  Having finally got my phone back from Sony I'm loving it, it's a delight to use and a powerhouse, just don't get it wet!
Anyhow I can't figure out the noise cancelling.  The option is permanently greyed out no matter what headphones I use or what options I select.  I'm prob missing something simple, but any ideas?
    Thanks in advance!

Does anyone know what models of Sony noise cancelling headphones work with the Xperia Z3's noise cancelling function?
I have a pair of Sony MDR-NC60 noise cancelling headphones but when these are connected to the Z3, the noise cancelling menu is still greyed out.
Is anyone from Sony Support able to explain how the Z3 detects if the headphones connected to the headhone jack are compatible noise cancelling types?
    Cheers,
    Alan

  • Can't Capture Selection for Noise Print?

Hello All... I'm new to Soundbooth and have been trying to reduce hiss in my audio.  I've read up and watched tutorials on capturing the noise print etc... I drag to select part of the audio and click on "Capture Noise Print" and it seems to do this.
The problem begins  when I click on "Reduce Noise"...for some reason the whole clip is selected (turns white) and when I click on "Preview" the clip begins playing from the beginning rather than playing the Noise Print Selection.  (despite having "Use Captured Noise Print" checked in the box)
Also... I noticed when I go to "Undo" it says "Undo Clear Fade Out"  I'm not sure why...
Any suggestions on what I'm missing or doing incorrectly?

OK, it's Wednesday and I am getting a little less forgiving, so sorry, but...
Do a search of this forum for FCP 4.5 and Quicktime x.x.x (insert your version of QT here) and you will realize that you have upgraded QT beyond the capabilities of 4.5.
    Solutions:
    1. Revert to QT 7.1.6
    2. Uprgrade FCP
Wow, I was more forgiving than I thought.
    Good luck.

  • Illustrations greyed-out when printing PDF file from Adobe Reader

    Hello,
From within PageMaker 7 I've made a 52-page PDF document in Distiller (selected job option is for Print) and uploaded it to my website.  It contains many greyscale illustrations (TIFs and JPGs first imported into PageMaker), and text.  I am able to view the PDF file over the net, and can print the illustrations and text on each page with no problem.  I am using an old HP laser printer (LaserJet 5L).  Other users are able to view the same PDF document on the net, and they can see all the illustrations and text on every page.  However, some users who have tested it are reporting that when they try to print out the pages on their own printers, most of the illustrations are greyed-out between pages 3 and 51.  The text is printing correctly on their printers.  The images on the front and back cover are printing, and so is an 11-page comic strip (made up entirely of 11 TIFs, with no additional text).  Can anyone work out why all the other illustrations throughout the document are printing greyed-out on their printers?
    Thanks
    Roger3

I am replying to my own question.
After posting here, I received feedback from a viewer that the PDF file is downloading and printing out pages with no greying-out of the illustrations.  It looks to me as though the problems are arising from other viewers' slow internet connections and/or hardware RAM for printing, especially if trying to print all pages at once, rather than Saving As to hard drive, then printing.
    Thanks,
    Roger3

  • Noise Print to Track?

    Hi,
Is there a way to capture a noise print and apply it to a whole track within a multitrack file? If I have a hundred little files that all have exactly the same BG noise going into a track back-to-back, the BG noise should automatically be reduced in each of them via a single captured noise print. Thanks.

The alternatives would be to use batch processing to apply NR to every clip you want to restore, or add the Adaptive Noise Reduction effect to the tracks which should be able to detect the background noise and separate it out.  Not as accurately as the standard NR effect, but it would work in this case.

  • Scan button in image capture is greyed out

I have an Epson Workforce 545 connected wirelessly to my network and had been using Image Capture for scanning.  When I went to use Image Capture today the "scan" button is greyed out..  I have all the newest software updates.
Using MacBook Air I get an error message w Iage Capture although printing works fine.

I found another thread suggesting drawing a box around the scan field.  That seems to work.
