Capture suddenly not available

I have been using sql developer for over a month now to move data from a mysql database to an oracle10 db. This afternoon the capture option (right click on a specific table) is greyed out/unavailable (it was working this morning). I didn't make any changes to my dbs nor to sql developer that I am aware of.
I tried restarting sql developer as well as restarting my windows machine.
What could have caused this to happen?

If I click 'delete migration repository' the dialog box opens with the message 'repository removed'. However, if I then click 'associate migration repository' the dialog box message says the operation failed and the sql error on script execution is "Try deleting repository before Creating Repository".Then another dialog box pops open with the message "Migration Repository associated is: qtrap1".
Please advise.

"Capture Pages" not available

Hi, I'm new to Pages (version 1). I'm trying to use "Capture Pages" after I've added all the necessary objects to my page, but I notice that "Capture Pages" is sometimes available, and sometimes not. Nothing I do seems to bring it back. If I create a new document from one of the templates, "Capture Pages" is available, but as soon as I select any element on the page, this feature is no longer highlighted. And it's the same even if I deselect any objects I've clicked. I've tried this on two different macs, one running the full version of the software, the other the trial version, with the same frustrating results. Can anyone help?

Yeah, that drives me crazy. I NEVER use main text body space. I design completely with text box objects. After I add a full page bleed of a filled square box object, I can no longer select the main body text space Pages uses, unless I make it a part of the master object and on and on. It's a total pain.
Getting a section break inserted is impossible when I'm using a group of text objects that fill up a whole page unless I get into a habit of moving boxes this way and that, and scatter them to reveal that cursed main body space. Then I forget I have a series of quasi-transparent object layers showing through from in behind and....sigh
I think I'll have to save up and buy InDesign because Pages is so main text space dependent. It's truly not a canvas, but an embedded text box permanently anchored to the page. If you're not using a template or writing plain vanilla text, it's a nightmare to work with.
Or is there something procedural I have yet to understand? Veterans, please enlighten me?

Bluetooth suddenly not available?

I've never had a problem before, but all of a sudden when I go to the bluetooth icon on the menu bar, it says bluetooth:not available.

Trash your com.apple.bluetooth.plist in ~/Library/Preferences/ file, then shut down and reset the PMU of your macbook. Had a similar problem before.

Why is my Bluetooth suddenly not available?

I had the magic mouse paired with my iMac. The mouse is no longer working and the Bluetooth status symbol is telling me Bluetooth is not available.

Why is QuickTime suddenly "not available" in CS3?

While trying to embed a video into a document, I recieve an error message saying QuickTime isn't available. I've uninstalled and reinstalled QuickTime, which now works -- it will run video independently of InDesign. But when I try to place a video or embed one into a frame, I see this error message. The diologue box will not allow me to browse for a video (the button is grayed out). I'm using a farily new setup, InDesign CS3 on a Windows 7 64-bit platform.
Is there a setting to allow InDesign to "see" Quicktime? Apple and Microsoft forums have been no help.

Yes, I have the very latest Quicktime download from Apple. This worked fine until our computers were upgraded to Windows 7. But the Windows site says Quicktime is fully compatible with 7. I've uninstalled both Quicktime and InDesign and reinstalled, several times. The popup window simply says "Failed because QuickTime is not available." Our IT person says all the programs are installed in the proper folders. This has cost me three days of productivity and I'm at a loss. Is there a setting in InDesign to reconnize third-party apps like QuickTime?

GPU Acceleration: Suddenly Not Available.

I switched to Premiere Pro 2014 and now get this message:
This project was last used with the Mercury Playback Engine GPU Acceleration (OpenCL) which is either not available or not certified on this system.
I am using a non-certified card on a Mac Pro 2009 (ATI Radeon HD 5770 1024 MB), but it had always worked well in previous versions of Premiere Pro.
Does this mean Adobe is no longer allowing users to work with non-certified cards?

Apparently World suddenly not available in my country.....I'm in Canada

Just last evening now I get a message that app world is not available in my country. My playbook has been here in Canada since I got it. Any ideas?

This is a problem that seems to be occuring all over the world. I had it yesterday and the day before in the UK, there are reports of it occuring in Canada, the US, Singapore, Zimbabwe etc etc.
Seems like RIM are either experiencing some server issues and/or updating the store and the changes/fixes are taking some time to percolate around the world.
Check out the various threads about it in the PlayBook help forum, also the threads over at crackberry's forum and elsewhere. The solution so far has been simply to wait a day or two and it fixes itself, although you may experience it working then not working again a few times (this happened to me and various others).
Hope it resolves itself for you soon.

External Display native resolution suddenly not available

I'm using a Westinghouse LCM-22w3 external monitor with my MBP, connected via a DVI-to VGA adapter. I've used this computer/monitor setup for quite some time with no problem. Yesterday, I hooked my computer up to my 46" Samsung HDTV with no problem.
When I hooked my computer back up to the Westinghouse, the native resolution (1680x1050) was no longer available. Instead, the monitor hooks up at 1600x1000. Strangely, though, the EDID information appears to suggest that 1680x1050 should be available. Here's the EDID:

Well, you can move the file from the desktop back to its original location to at least get back to what you had before.
The file structure under Snow Leopard has changed and it's hard to keep up with this stuff. There is also now a com.apple.WindowServer.plist file in /System/Library/LaunchDaemons that you could try moving to the desktop and restarting. I dunno. Same rule applies.....if it doesn't help, move the file from the desktop back to its original location.

FCP 7.0.3 why are my fonts suddenly not available?

Hi I'm hoping someone has an answer to this:
I just purchsed a new MacPro 8-Core and installed Final Cut Studio (FCP 7) on Lion
It had been working fine, I had a system issue where tried to fix by providing rights to sub-folders and since I did that I have been having huge problems trying to get the Mac running again. One of which happens to be that the fonts which were accessible in FCP prior to the issue are now no longer available. in fact I had a huge collection all accessible. these are all gone. The same goes for Motion and the templates I try to open and use in Final Cut.
Does anypne have a clue as to why this happened and, more importantly, how can I get my fonts back??

Thx all for your help. I tried all of it. A friend suggested what Brad suggested:
When I created a new user I found that the fonts were once again appearing as they should/were originally in both FCP and Motion. It seems that that one move to assign the rights to subfolders in my user account corrupted all of the font files. Regardless of having tried all of the various ways to fix the system caches and pref files nothing worked to get my user account and the admin account back to normal.
But here's something I didn't expect and maybe it will save someone the hours i wasted. After I created a new account and assigned admin rights, I was still having problems with launching my Adobe applications: "Error 150:30 Licensing has stopped working..." So I uninstalled my entire Creative Suites apps and reinstalled them. This fixed it for the new user account.
But get this: when I went back to the old "corrupt" user account, it was now working again also! Including FCP and Motion and all of the word processing and Adobe apps. I've been editing on them all day and knock on woodhead it all works perfectly again.

OPTICAL DRIVE SUDDENLY NOT AVAILABLE

Hope Paul reads this post and has time to respond....
Well, from 1 day to the next this NICE HP tower (running Window 7 PRO - factory installed) has decided it does NOT want to deal in ANY WAY with the factory installed OPTICAL DRIVE.
Computer specs:

Attempted solution:
   - Removed it from this computer, connected it another computer = WORKED.
   - Went to HP Support site, used software there to determine prcise model of this computer, clicked link to Software section of HP's site, looked for updates or drivers for the OPTICAL DRIVE in this computer = NOTHING.
Hmmmm.
What to do... What to do....??????
Device (Optical Drive) seems to work, just NOT IN THIS COMPUITER...... :-(
Maybe you'll be able to tell me what to do to fix this unusual issue, eh, Paul.

Sorry for the delay in get'n back to you on the optical drive issue.
Turns out NONE of the attempts to fix it worked. The drive is GOOD. Connected it another computer = worked. Put it back in the original HP = doesn't see it.
FIX = provided client with an EXTERNAL USB DVD/RW drive. Worked perfectly.
Client happy. Patrick happy. Paul ---- hope he's happy too.

Multiple Desktop Windows suddenly not available how do I fix this?

I changed one preference in MIssion Control System Preference - - assigning Dashboard to F5. I then noticed that when I open mission control it shows only Dashboard and 1 application desktop. Also the ways of accessing desktops have been limited to control up arrow and control down arrow. I used to be able to assign control 1, control 2, etc. or control left arrow control right arrow. How do I regain multiple desktops and more ways of accessing them? I'd be most appreciative of any insight or help. Thanks.

Try a restart.
Do a backup, using either Time Machine or a cloning program, to ensure files/data can be recovered. Two backups are better than one.
Try setting up another admin user account to see if the same problem continues. If Back-to-My Mac is selected in System Preferences, the Guest account will not work. The intent is to see if it is specific to one account or a system wide problem. This account can be deleted later.
Isolating an issue by using another user account
If the problem is still there, try booting into the Safe Mode using your normal account. Disconnect all peripherals except those needed for the test. Shut down the computer and then power it back up after waiting 10 seconds. Immediately after hearing the startup chime, hold down the shift key and continue to hold it until the gray Apple icon and a progress bar appear. The boot up is significantly slower than normal. This will reset some caches, forces a directory check, and disables all startup and login items, among other things. When you reboot normally, the initial reboot may be slower than normal. If the system operates normally, there may be 3rd party applications which are causing a problem. Try deleting/disabling the third party applications after a restart by using the application un-installer. For each disable/delete, you will need to restart if you don't do them all at once.

Help, I recently got the airport express and I had an option in Itunes to select internal speakers or remote speakers but I never had remote speakers. Now I went out and bought some but when I open Itunes the option is no longer there. Any Ideas?

Hi bk,
Make sure that your AirPort Express is connecting to your wireless network. When AirPort cannot be detected on your network, it will disappear as an option from iTunes.
You might try resetting AirPort Express and waiting to see if the network finds it. If not, direct wire the APE to your network with a Cat5e cable and configure. Disconnect, reset and see if found then.

"Complete My Album" suddenly not available?

Today, I had planned to buy the album "Daft Punk - Discovery" on the Australian iTunes store for a reduced price for "Complete My Album". Overnight, however, the regular price of the album dropped and now I no longer have the option to complete my album. The songs I had previously bought from the album separately no longer say "purchased", although they are still clearly in my library. Is there any way I can still get this discount?

I see today that my Complete My Album items have been restored. While I think the customer service could be better than a "Sorry About Your Luck" message, I appreciate the resolution to my issue

Closed captioning features suddenly not available.

Prior to the most recent update to Premiere, I could playback caption and review them in the timeline and export them. After the update I can no longer see them (I have verified the correct stream type is selected) and even worse I cannot find a way to export them as a sidecar file anymore. The option is just greyed out.
This is an absolute disaster, the loss of these features cam at the worst possible time as I was working on a project. Is there a fix for this, or at least a way to rollback to the previous version of Premiere? This is a nightmare!
