Captured Animation suddenly small, yet the video plays fine.
Ok, what the heck is going on here. I captured some video at 469x351 and completed a project which is almost entirely FMV. Earlier this week, I wanted to go back in, and some overlays and do some editing. Big problem, something wierd has happened to the preview of the slides! You can see the white box is still the right dimensions, however, the animation itself is shrunk. What is bizarre is that when I render the entire project it plays fine. But as you can see(first pic), it would not be possible to edit these slides anymore. Is there a feature that needs to be turned off/on? I tried the zoom feature and it is already at 100%. Something must be jacked up in the viewing preferences? Can anyone think of a possibility as to why this is happening to all my slides? It even does it to my projects that were recorded at 800x600. So strange, bug maybe? Notice the captured images are just fine. (second pic)

Well, it appears I am completely dead now. I deinstalled flash using the deinstaller, but now I can't even get any version of Flash to reinstall because I keep getting this same message to pop up after I attempt to install it. Um, as far as I know there is no Flash 11 right? I'm telling ya', this is looking more and more like I need to blow out my entire computer and start over,....it just can't seem to get past some kind of player version flag.
At this point, I can't open Captivate and I can't even see any flash enable web sites. Please Help me!!!!!!! Do you know if Adobe has a technical support team that can log in remotely and look at this thing?

Hey guys ive been trying for days to fix the problem with flash, i get no sound on the internet. all my system sound is there, ect windows sounds game sounds. i use both IE exporer and firefox both of which can not get sound from flash videos, although the video plays fine, just with no sound. i tryed K-Lite Codec Tweak Tool , but that didnt work. im using ver 10.1 of flash. the whole probelm started when i upated to flash v10. up from 9. i will inculde my system sepcs at the bottom. any suggestions would be great.

When this installation has completed, right click the speaker icon in the Taskbar and select Playback Devices. Left click 'Speakers and Headphones' once to highlight it and then click the Set Default button - check if you now have audio.

My videos from my iphone are horrible when I transfer them to my PC. How can I improve the video on my PC? Can I just convert the files to WMV? When the video plays the speed is off, it's half slow-motion and staggers into normal play. The clips are slightly cut as well, the clips do not roll continuously. I'm taling about videos that are no more than 2 minutes long. I'm frustrated and I could really use some advice-my kids basketball games is what I'm recording and I'm trying to send them to my family (they are not very tech savvy). Thanks
Not it's only function but one for which it was most admirably suited, which is why I really hope someone can find a work around. I am hoping my post to the Apple feedback may prompt a useful response from Apple and I live in hope that my post here will elicit a useful response from another user. I did not miss the the text at the top of the feedback form but you presumably missed my initial text, 'someone here can explain' or my subsequent 'work around from another user'
Just in case anyone reading this has a large collection of music videos, video podcasts or iTunes U then DO NOT upgrade your iPad to iOS 5. If you are considering purchasing the iPad as a useful mobile device to experience these media organised in your iTunes please don't as you will be wasting your money. (unless someone on this forum knows of a way to undo the mess created by those infallible folks at Apple)

I have a iPhone 4S and when watching videos on the internet sound cuts out as the video is playing. The rest of the video plays with no sound. Sometimes when I pause It and play again sound comes back but not all the time. can anyone help?
The "restore disk" is built into the Mac. See About Recovery.
Need more specifics about what error messages you got while installing Adobe Flash.
However, you can almost avoid Flash altogether by setting YouTube to play the HTML5 version instead.

I don't know about the sound issue. Might be hardware as you think. Try other headphones to check. -
When I stream videos from my laptop onto my Apple TV via my iPad 2 using the Air Video app/server the video plays great however when I pause the video the Apple TV reverts back to the home screen within a few seconds and then when I want to restart watching the video I have to re-buffer the video. Is there any way I can stop the Apple TV from reverting back to the home screen when I pause the video I’m watching?

I copied several MOV files to a CD. When I play them from the CD the video is fine but the audio works fine for the first few seconds then stops (using Qicktime Player 7.7.1. Everything works fine if I use VLC Media Player. Does anyone have any idea why?
My purpose for copying to a CD or DVD is so that I can make copies and send to friends and relatives. What is the best way to get these files on a CD/DVD with the right codecs?
The easiest thing to do is to simply tell your friends and relatives to copy the files to their local hard drive before playing them. Your basic problem is that data discs have a limited real time transfer rate. Since you say VLC plays the files fine, I might suspect its player is likely buffering the data while the QT 7 Player is not.
Data discs made for playback directly from the CD or DVD are normally encoded using MPEG-4/AVC (H.264) video with AAC audio. This is a modern codec which has specific settings to re-package the data (i.e., must be encoded using the multipass option and then select the "optimize for CD/DVD" option). -
my nano 5th generation plays a little music, then stops and reboots. only when i play music. it does this each time i play music, the videos plays non stop, no problem. what is the problem? .....PLEASE HELP!

I do not use the function very often but AirPlay has worked fine in the past (several OS updates ago on both iPad and apple tv). The audio plays fine but no video???? Any suggestions.
interesting...... you know i tried other media and it worked fine. i was trying to play 'amazon instant video'. when you say 'blocked ... by the providor' it seems to me that Amazon would have no interest in restricting the play. is it the producer of the content that resticts the play through some form of licensing or is it apple that restricts amazon play by limiting access to technology? either way its anti-competitive.

When i go to youtube, i can't see the video playing properly and can't see the quality settings icon for the youtube suggested videos are showing over the video playing. Really annoying, i have to double click to fullscreen to change the quality settings. How do i fix this?

How to view/hear pretty much everything:
Assuming you already run OS 10.4.9 or above and have Quicktime 7.2, and are using Safari 2 or 3, download and install (or re-install even if you already had them) the latest versions, suitable for your flavor of Mac, of:
RealPlayer from http://uk.real.com/player/
Flip4Mac WMV Player from http://www.microsoft.com/windows/windowsmedia/player/wmcomponents.mspx (Windows Media Player for the Mac is no longer supported, even by Microsoft)
Perian from http://perian.org/
Adobe FlashPlayer from http://www.adobe.com/shockwave/download/download.cgi?P1ProdVersion=ShockwaveFlash
In Quicktime Preferences, under advanced, UNcheck Enable Flash, and under Mime settings/Miscellananeous only check Quicktime HTML (QHTM).
In Macintosh HD/Library/Quicktime/ delete any files relating to DivX (Perian already has them).
The world should now be your oyster!
You should also have the free VLC Player from http://www.videolan.org/ in your armory, as this plays almost anything that DVD Player might not. -
Certain music videos will not play in iTunes. The music plays fine but not the video. No picture.

Regular playlists vs smart playlist does not make a difference. What I noticed is that some videos create this behavior and some not. I created 2 videos and 2 music playlists, one with 2 songs and 2 videos (that I encoded myself with Handbrake). Another list with 2 videos and 2 songs, videos encoded with Handbrake, but that I noticed they triggered the behavior. The first playlist played fine, with no problems. The second one, created the problem. When I look at the video, it is the same type of video (bit rate, audio channels, etc...) I don't see why it would do that.
Later I will test: playing those videos in question and then selecting songs to see if they play. -
No sound on The Daily Show videos, video plays fine
I have no problem play video with sound in all web sites (like U-Tube, MSNBC, NY-Times, etc.). Only in Comedy Central the videos play properly but no sound.
This happened once before and I was able to restore sound after uninstalling QuickTime. Now, after updating to FF 13.0, no sound only in Comedy Central web site. I don't have QuickTime installed now, so I have no idea where the conflict is coming from.
Here are some things I tried:
Started FF in safe mode
Removed AdBlock and FlashBlock
Cleared Cache and cookies
Uninstalled and reinstalled Java, Adobe Flash
Tried Chrome and IE tab in FF
I even installed Quicktime and then uninstalled it, just to see whether uninstalling QT will help.
Nothing worked. I have no problem in any other site, only the Comedy Central videos have no sound, that too only after upgrading to FF 13.0
Thankful for any useful suggestion ....Try to clear the Flash local storage and settings or at least the settings for the Comedy Central website.

Video plays fine in iMovie but not in Web Gallery ?

I managed to import some small video clips to iMovie 08 using Streamclip (converting to .dv files).
The movies play fine in iMovie - no problems. However when I publish to Mac Web Gallery (I only published "mobile" size), one of the videos always hangs at the same point. The clip starts playing but you can see the clip stop loading and then it stops playing at the exact same point about 3 minutes in.
The Web Gallery says the clip is 4mins 36secs long but it never plays it in full. I've removed from Gallery and republished. I've also deleted the project and started from scratch. Both have failed to cure it.
Also tried it in Firefox 3 and Safari - same result.
Why is Mac Web Gallery struggling to play all the clip?

If you are on version 8.0.6, this is probably due to the use of speed changes like fast motion or slow motion.
If you have speed changes in your project, you need to stick to the pre-set tick marks of 25%, 50%, 100%, 200%, 400%, 800%, etc. If you use a custom percent like 58% or 139%, you will get weird audio behavior in your final product. -

Green screens are almost always indicative of a video driver issue. Could you please post the contents of your "Display Devices" section after generating a DXDiag report?

I suspect you might have an out of date video driver. This FAQ can help you learn the steps required to update:

Finally, if the driver update does not help, try disabling hardware acceleration using the steps outlined here:
