Capturing a frame and saving as a picture format

Is this even possible and if so how do you do it?

Wow, there's no plug-in to shorten this process? As a iMovie user, I often create a montage of still frames at the end of projects. Having to go to File>Export>Using QuickTime Conversion, etc. is a lot slower process than in iMovie to create still frames. I tried using AppleScript and Automator to automate the process, but couldn't figure it out.

  • How do I capture a Frame and save as jpeg

I can't figure out how to just take one frame and export as an image file. Help!

If the frame has a lot of movement between the fields you may want to deinterlace first. To do this go modify>make freeze frame. This loads the frame into the viewer as a still. You can then apply the deinterlace filter and then export as advised above.

  • I am not seeing video on files captured in PPCC and saved as .mov.

I have captured DV video in PP and it was saved as .mov. When I went to view the file there was no video. I am working on a Mac and have the latest QT installed. Is there a way to save the file in a different way/format?

    >captured DV video in PP and it was saved as .mov
Please explain the above, step by step... are you digitizing an analog source, such as playing a VHS tape through a digitizing device to then save a file on your hard drive?
If not what I just described... what are you doing?
Also, mov is a wrapper, what is inside YOUR wrapper?
Exactly what is INSIDE the video you are editing?

  • Wireless signal acquisition and saving signal in text format simultaneously for 5 mins

    Hi,
I am acquiring ECG signal wirelessly and displaying it in in waveform chart. And simultaneously i need to save it in Text format for 5 mins. The problem i am facing is that for saving the signal i am using Write to Measurement File which saves the file in text format..... but while saving the plotting speed decreases.
i am very new to labview.. so plz can any one tell me whether i am missing any thing in it... plz help.....

Why do people always post pictures of their VIs rather than the VIs themselves or at least Snippets?  We can't tell from the picture what Version of LabVIEW you are using (so if we post code, you might not be able to open it), and we can't "play with" your code and try it out without, ourselves, by hand, trying to recreate it from your (sometimes very tiny) diagram.  Please Help Us to Help You!
Here's help anyway to get you started with the Producer/Consumer Design Pattern.
    Open LabVIEW.
Click "File", choose "New ..." (not New VI), and choose (from the templates) Producer/Consumer Design Pattern (Data).
Study the Template and adapt it to your problem.
The Producer would be anything that Generates data.  Once you have the data, you put it on the Queue and send it to the Consumer for all the rest of the processing.  The idea is that the Producer has an inherent timing that it has to meet, otherwise you lose data points.  The Consumer, on the other hand, just needs to "more or less" keep up (actually, the Queue can/will expand, so if the amount of data isn't megabytes, the Consumer can really be quite slow, though you usually want the Consumer, on average, to be at least as fast as the Producer).

  • How can I capture a single video frame and save as an image in PS CS6 Extended?

I have checked similar posts on this subject, but I have a problem doing this:
    I "File>Open" a video clip [.m2ts file type] into PS CS6 Extended.
PS sets the "Pixel Aspect Ratio" for "HDV 1080/DVCPRO HD 720 (1.33)"
PS then warns of "Pixel Aspect Ratio Correction" for preview purposes only, and that it should be turned off for maximum image quality.
I advance the "Timeline" to the specific frame I wish to capture.
I simply "File>SaveAs" for a JPG image - as has been suggested.
Both the On-screen and saved images are grossly pixelated at 1440 x 1080.
Furthermore, the saved image is an incorrect aspect ratio - regardless of how I have the "Pixel Aspect Ratio Correction" set.
It produced a jpg image size of 1440 x 1080 at 635 KB.
I clearly do not know what I am doing...
Have I missed a process - either with the file type I open, or once opened in PS CS6 and set to the desired frame?
Adobe Bridge will display each frame in a high-quality preview - which I could be happy with, but found no capture/save tool there.
I went back to the software that came with the video camera and saved a frame image from the video clip just fine.
It produces a jpg image size of 2304 x 1296 at 2.63 MB with the correct aspect ratio.
After you stop laughing ... can you let me know what I really need to do to get the correct result in PS CS6?

Place the playhead on the frame you want as a still. Then in share window choose location Save Current Frame. You can then select options such as Jpg, PNG etc.

I have a MacBook Pro. How do I capture a still picture from a video in iMovie and print the still picture?

Click iMovie/About. If you have version 9.0.4 (iMovie 11) this will work. If you have an earlier version, this will also work, but there are also other ways.
First, get an app called MPEG Streamclip, which is free. (MPEG Streamclip from Squared 5)
    Open MPEG Streamclip.
In iMovie, select the clip you need. Then, right-click/Reveal in Finder.
Drag this clip into MPEG Streamclip
In MPEG Streamclip, move the playhead to the frame you want.
In MPEG Streamclip, click FILE/EXPORT FRAME.
Choose JPEG, TIFF, or PNG and give it a name.
You can then drag this photo into iPhoto.
I have created a short video Tutorial on how to do this. There is one error in the Tutorial, where it says that Command-click is the same as right-click. I should have said Control-click instead.

  • Labview IMAQ VI for capturing images and saving with incremental file names

    Hello,
I am using LabView 7.1(IMAQ) to capture images with NI's PCI 1426 card, and a JAI CV-M2 camera. Now, with the example VI's like LL Grab, or LL Sequence, or Snap and Save to File.vi, I can capture the images. But what I actually want is to capture images continuously and keep saving them with a sequentially incrementing file name.
I have tried to modify the Snap and Save to File.vi  by adding a 'for loop', so as to run this for required number of images. This works okay, but I can't really change the file name after every image. However, I'm not confident with this method either. I think it would be better to use the buffer itself, as is given in LL Grab.vi and somehow save images from the buffer. I think this would be faster ?
In any case, any ideas as to how I should go about implementing auto-incrementing of the file name ?
    Any help will do.
    Thanks.
    - Prashant

    Hi,
    Thanks a lot for replying.
I tried using this in the VI i was working with, but using the "build path" vi doesnt seem to work. If I use just the base path from user's input, it works, but then again it keeps overwriting the images into one file rather than giving each file a new name. I'm attaching the vi.
Please take a look and tell me where i'm going wrong.
    Thanks again.

I need to save some pictures from iPhoto to a SDHC photo card for a digital frame and was wondering if there is a way to shrink or compress file size for each picture as I have already cropped the pictures? Thank you

Yes, you do this when you export the images from the Library.
    File -> Export
in the Size section, you don't need images larger than the frame size, so you can specify that and in the Jpeg Quality you can select the amount of compression used.
    This User Tip

has details of the options in the Export dialogue.

    Zabanya,
One thing often tried first is to create a new document and File>Place the (PDF contents, if any, of the) corrupted one to see how much may be rescued that way.
Here are some websites where you can see whether it can rescue the actual file, and if it can, you may pay for a subscription to have it done,

As far as I remember, the first one is for Win and the second one is for Mac, while the third one should be for both.

No they will not delete.  If you are nervous about that, connect your phone to your computer and import the photos into iPhoto and drag them into a new folder on your desktop.

  • Resetting mac and saving Iphoto pictures

I ve got a huge doubt about saving my iphoto pictures so i can restore my macbook air to his factory settings without losing losing them
I dont know if I can save the Iphoto Library in my hard drive and then put it back after resetting it.
and with iphoto library I mean this icon  (excuse my ignorance, I m horrible with technology)

I would certainly not restore a system to change the things you indicate. You might cause yourself some serious problems.
I would reset the SMC (system management controller) to see if things change.
My log-in screen is gray...shade unknown. I rarely use the camera on my MacBook Pro.
I would post a separate question about your camera issue to see if someone can address that issue.

  • Capturing and saving Captivate as AVI

I have a pdf file. I will use Captivate to capture and will
need to save it as an 800 x 600 AVI file.
Can you capture within Captivate and save it as an AVI? If so
    - how might this be done?

You can save this as an AVI file in Captivate 4. See Adobe documentation here:
    http://help.adobe.com/en_US/Captivate/4.0/Using/WS5b3ccc516d4fbf351e63e3d119e958285f-7fff. html
Publish the project as an AVI file
You can publish your Adobe Captivate project as an AVI file. Open the published AVI file in any of the media players that support the AVI format.
You can use any of the encoders available on your operating system for publishing. Alternatively, you can use a third party software that you have installed on your computer.
Note: All interactivity in your project is lost when you convert the project to an AVI file.
    1.  Select File > Publish.
    2.  In the Publish dialog box, select Media, and configure the following options:
    Select Type
From the menu, select Video (*.avi)
    Project Title
Enter a name for the AVI file without adding the extension (.avi).
    Folder
Enter the full path to the folder in which to save the file, or click Browse to locate the folder.
    3.  Select from the following output options:
    Video Format
The list of encoders available on your system is available here. Select an encoder for publishing the project in the AVI format.
    Audio Format
Adobe Captivate uses pulse code modulation (PCM) for audio files. Simply put, PCM converts analog files to binary (digital) files.
The Project Information area displays useful statistics about the project including the size (resolution), number of slides, audio information, e-learning details, accessibility compliance, and playback control assigned to the project. To change any of the options listed in this area, click the blue text. To change preferences, click the Preferences button.

  • Inconsistent frame and DAQ rate

    Hi,
I have written, LabVIEW 7.0, a code (attached) to read from a DAQ card, 3 Visa's and 2 Firewire cameras. Before I included the cameras, everything worked fine. With the cameras, the performance decreases with time (the longer the acquisition time is, the lesser the frame rate). My questions:
    1. How can I optimize the code more, to give me the highest possible frame rate?
    2. Is my approach in getting capturing the images an "OK" way, or is there a better way in doing it? This is my first time 'playing' around with IMAQ 1394.
    3. I have a hunch that if I save every images once it is in the buffer, instead of capture everything first and save later, would increase the performance. Can this be true?
    4. Last, is there a quick and ea
sy way to produce an AVI file from the recorded images? I realize that the elapsed time between the images is different and this cause an additional headache in producing the AVI file.
By the way, the desktop I am using is a P4 2.4 GHz, with 1024 MB of RAM (if I'm not mistaken). I hope what I said make sense here and I highly appreciate all the help I could get Thanks!

    Shazlan,
The first thing you can do to optimize your code would be to use only one IMAQ create. In your code the IMAQ create is inside the loop so you will be using more and more memory as the program runs. I have attach an example with 1394 that I wrote. It has only one IMAQ create. The example also has a implemented a save to AVI for saving the images. I hope this help
