Capturing above 320X240 TV@nywhere

Has anybody been able to capture anything above 320X240 in Vdub or premiere in avi format , It keeps telling me that anything higher is unsupported. The reason I bought the card was to capture mjpg AVI's using the Svideo and the 10 bit DAC it has , It doesnt need any of its deinterlacing or special filters , just capture at what res I want. I have owned three other older capture cards and you could customize capture resolution no problem. Is this a permanent handicap of this card or just somthing they need to enable in drivers???

well I dnloaded the demo of iuVCR and it works for me as well, I can now capture mjpeg at my desired resolutions. I was reading on thier website and it has something to do with the capture drivers being WDM(Windows Driver Module) and vdub and premier have to use some sort of driver wrapper to convert it to a compatable VFW(Video For Windows) device.
Anyway , I think that means that if you have a capture program that uses the newer WDM you can capture at whatever resolution you want. I would like to get a list of all the capture programs and what kind of driver they use.
I still hope they fix it for VFW though

how did you record AVI or MPEG-2 for that matter? Whenever I record an MPEG-2, I can't view it with any of my players (WMP, Zoom Player, Sasami2k). I can't record AVI and I can't record above 320x240.. help!

How to capture Shipping expenses in Quotation / Order

Hi Gurus,
We are implementing SAP for a logistics company which is involved in providing logistics like moving goods from one place to other place for customers. Which involves import and export of materials. This process involves different cost like Container charges, Port charges, Haulage charges, Cystom clerance etc.
The issues is when we receive a quotation from customer for moving goods from one place to another, we need to give a quotation to customer taking all the above charges ( Container charges, Port charges, Haulage charges, Cystom clerance etc.) in to account. The problem is we will not have all the fields to capture above expenses in the Sales documents ( Quotation/ Order). For example for container charges we need port of loading and port of un laoding, etc. .
As of now we are planning to capture these expenses in Shipment documnet and copy the same back to Quotation .
Any other suggestions are highly appreciated .

Thanks for the reponse. the issues is the user can enter the data in Quotation / ales order manually ( as the data can change from customer to customer) but he needs to re enter the information again in Shipment document ( as the info will not pass from Quote / Sales Order from Unloading point of sales document to Destination point in shipment document).
More over, the departure point / destination point in Shipment documnet can change from customer to customer and user will be able to create them manually. But the unloading point / reciving point, user will not be able to create freely

Cost Accounting For SaaS - How To Capture Costs?

For a SaaS (software as a service) company, is it advisable to set standard costs to capture cost of sales? I am considering calculating actual cost per unit sold and using this as basis for standard costing. Anyone have experience in this? Thanks!

Here i'm already capturing "Estimated cost" in CAUFVD-USER4 attribute, but i need to capture Planned cost and Actual Cost data in Run time(Live Stream) as i need to capture these data before saving into Database.
Example: While we creating Work Order with IW31, Estimated Cost will be available in above Attribute (USER4), but for Actual and Planned Cost i don't have any attribute associated with CAUFVD structure, these 2 Cost data i need to find with the help of any of the BADI or Customer Exit Or User Exit.
Kindly provide any of the Exit Point where we can capture above data before saving into Database.

PPCS4 Clip "Description" etc. won't save after capture process

During the logging/capturing process I have been entering information into the various Clip Data fields, such as Description, Scene, and Log Note. Once the clips have been logged...and the project closed...when I start a new PProCS4 session, and retrieve those same clips...the Clip Data that I had entered does not appear next to the clips in the Project Panel?!? Does this have to do with a Metadata issue? Anyhelp ASAP would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

They are blank...nothing in the under the field heading
Complete workflow/actions are as follows - may be helpful here...
1. capture/log clips with added descriptions etc.
2. Batch capture above - creating .avi files
3. Close out of PPro CS4
4. Re-open PPro - and import the above .avi files
5. The .avi files now do not have the descriptions that were input during the capture/log process

Problem with GF4 MX460 VTP - Module Capture from VCR

I have problem with my GF4.
When i try capture from VCR, the bottom of image has a distorsion, like a cut off peace.
I don't know if the driver, software of capture (Ulead Video Studeo 6.0), the "excellent" Windows XP Professional or simply my VCR.
Somebody can help me.

I have the same problem. I don't think it's a software issue (unless the capture driver causes it). The bottom 7 lines of captured video seems like shifted right.
You can use VirtualDub ( http://www.virtualdub.org ) to capture, setting crop options to ignore last 7 lines.
I agree with CrazyCamel, use virtualdub and HuffYuv codec http://www.math.berkeley.edu/~benrg/huffyuv.html
This codec does lost free compression, and is *very* fast. You can capture at 320x240 writing average 2.2 MB/s (against over 5 MB/s uncompressed). It allows you to capture 640x480 or 720x480 (DVD quality) with low frame lost (maybe none, depending on your system).

PROB DIGITISING FROM FIREWIRE CREATING 320x240 CLIPS - HELP!!!!!!!!!

I'm doing a sound turnover for a project. I'm working on an avid but I need to deliver quicktimes, and rendering takes FOREVER. Long story short, I'm going out of the avid analog into an A/D converter and into Final cut pro to make my quicktimes.
I'm capturing with a non controllable device and all that works fine in FCP.
This is what I want.
Quicktime clips which are 320x240 48k stereo 29.97 DV/NTSC compression.
Here is how I'm doing it.
I created a capture preset
320x240
digitiser-dv video
compression-dv/dvcpro-ntsc
fps 29.97
audio dv audio 48k
I go to capture use this capture preset and the quictimes are all 720x480!!!!
no matter what I try. I threw out preferences. I re-made the capture preset. I don't udnerstand whats going wrong.

NOW I HAVE A 2 NEW PROBS.
So the signal which is being brought into fcp via firewire has stereo audio which the L channel is Dia/FX and the Right channel is Music. When I am monatoring FCP I can hear that this is coming in correct with the dia / MX being split on the two channels. Then when I digitise and check the clip, not only have the two channels been mixed together (like the L/R stereo information created 2 multiple mixed mono's for L/R channels)
BUT ADDITIONALLY SOUND IS 3 FRAMES LATE!!!! Since I am bringing this in via uncontrollable deck, I cant control a sound offset.

Open and Save dialog boxes are sorted reverse alpahbetically by default

I have a user that experiences the same frustrating experience every time she restarts Apple Mail. All of her open and save dialog boxes in Mail are sorted from Z to A. She can click the name field to change the sort, but it will return to Z-A if she quits and reopens the program. The Finder is set (and stays) at A-Z. Other applications do not exhibit this problem. I am loathe to reset the preferences since that means having to set up accounts again. Restarting the computer and removing user caches made no difference. Any suggestions? This is an iMac Mid 2008 running Mac OS X 10.6.8.

I solved my own question through trial and error.
Just select "None" on the dropdown selector (see screen capture, above) and the Open/Save dialog will revert to the older version.

Cost Center assign Profit Center Issues

i have one issues regarding, Cost Center assign to Profit Center
wht happened , we have made MIS Report Thru Report Painter KE80, we have map based on   Primary Cost Element, at the time of Business Transaction, we have capture the Finance Cost center i.e FI000, Marketing Cost center i.e MK000 , HR Cost Center i,e HR000 and assign the same cost center FI000 to Profit Center i.e FI000 also same name, respectively. in MIS report there is two Head i.e Sustaining Cost and Development Cost ,where we have to capture only Cost center for Sustaining Cost related to display i.e FI000, MK000 and HR000. KE80 report belongs to Profit Center wise you can see the Report. But same FI000, MK000 and HR000 also updated related with business transaction and capture above cost center like in depreciation GL Amount 1000 cost center FI000 and sustaining cost also updated the same amount 1000 because we have assign FI000, i.e wrong . last 3 months post the amount now wht should I do for not updated sustaining cost, as I understand , should be delete sustaining Cost as well Development, and later on we can take report from KSB1 for FI000, MK000 and HR000, for management purpose, so if I cannot assign profit center FI000 to Cost Center .kindly correct me whether ryt or wrong. Coz Fianance, HR cost and marketing is only cost center. not suppose to assigh profit center, in this case how Profit Center removed from Cost center. kindly let me knw, or give me other option.
wen we see the report same Profit Center showing two times along with amount i.e wrong coz of Sustaining Cost we have assign Profit Center

Open and save dialog boxes just show earlier and can't be sorted

Mountail Lion has new open and save dialog boxes that are displayed in groupings by date and other variables.
My Photoshop CS5 shows "Previous 7 days", "Earlier", etc. I can no longer adjust this sorting. Often, just the "Earlier" shows and current files are missing from the box. I used the sorting option but can't sort within the list.
My inDesign files still use the earlier open and save dialog box. Where can I switch between these options?

How to restrict the Request and Response process in that cookies should be Secure way SAP Portal 7.0 ?

Please any one can help me i am getting one security issue.Some third party tools using and hacking the Request and Response of the Server.That time there taking one successfully Request (GET http://1.1 302 found) and Response (http://1.1 200 ok).In this request based on again there giving some invalidate credential in that time server giving request replacing for success fully Request that time there login in to portal successfully(Bypassing).In this Request level only getting the information for URL and set-cookies only.Here any process is there to restrict the set cookies.like JSESSIONMARKID and JSESSIONID SAP_LB.
We are using 7.0 Version and SP 12. Please share you are solutions because of this is very high problem here.

According to this , set-cookie: JSESSIONMARKID , JSESSIONID and MYSAPSSO2 values are user login time it will change every time are not.
After capturing above response HTTP/1.1 302 etc , when user gives valid credentials and logs in ,
and now ill give wrong password and wrong user id and on click of log on button, i can intercept the request and response coming from the server and when i replace this valid response stil i am able to loggin in to the portal , which should not happen as JESSIONMARKID is changed , server should not allow , but it is loggin in.Standard Login page also allowing to login in this case.
My server version is EP 7.0 SP 12.
Please suggest a solution so that if we restric the hacker at this stage , no matter he can never hijack the sesiona and login with invalid username and password.

Updating Start, Finish % Complete from excel file to Ms Project

Hi - This is my first post on this forum which i see is a great way to share knowledge.
I’m having a schedule which has around 3000 lines with resources names and a Responsible Person ( where individual resources
report to) updated on the schedule.
I need to work out a good way to get schedule updates from different parties in a efficient way.
My thoughts are to make a solution to generate the tasks which needs to be updated based on the status date and generate a individual excel files for each responsible person and get
their updates back in excel and update the dates and % complete back to the MS Project schedule.<o:p></o:p>
The steps
a) create a filter to list all the tasks which need to be updated based status date ( tasks which are in progress, tasks in the past which have not started yet,
tasks in the past which have finished etc) grouped as per responsible person and create separate excel files for each responsible person.
b) the excel file will contain ( UID, Task name, start date, finish date, %complete, resource name, responsible person)
c) I would like to email these excel files to each responsible person and get their updates for (start date, finish date, %complete)
d) Create a VBA macro to let the user to select the updated excel file and update the data back to MS Project file.
Conditions while updating
a)
Read the Excel file from Top to bottom and find the correct record based on the UID and update the "duration" in order to change dates as below
b)
IF Task has started ( the excel file contains % complete and a new start date later than the MS Project start date)
Update MS Project file ( Actual Start date and % Complete)
c)
IF Task has started as Scheduled ( the excel file contain % complete and the excel file start date is equal to MS Project start date)
        Update MS Project file ( Actual Start date and % Complete)
d)
IF Task has started and finished as Scheduled ( The excel file start and finish dates are equal to MS Project file but excel file % complete is now 100%)
Update MS Project File ( Actual Start, Actual Finish and Update % Complete 100%)
e)
If Start date of the task has been rescheduled to a future date ( If Excel file start date is > that Ms project start date and excel file % complete is 0)
Update the MS Project file and inset a lag to match the excel file start date.
I would like to know whether this would be a feasible solutions and if some of you have implemented this kind of thing please share some code snippets.

Hi John, I've managed to progress further on the code and Split the records as per supervisor and create excel file and email to supervisor.
However I ran into 2 problems
1) The code works some time without any error and some times it stalls. I have managed to narrow it down to the sorting code block on the
ExportTaskstobeUpdated mehod where it Selects the Active work book which has all the data based on the filter and Sorts according to Supervisor Name+ Resource Name
I have made the error code Bold and Italic
The error I'm getting is
Run-time error '1004'
Method'Range' of object'_Global' failed
2) Currently I'm creating the Master Excel file which is generated by the
ExportTaskstobeUpdated method and splitting them and creating all the splits + the Master excel file to a hard coded locationwhich is C:GESProjectEmail folder
When Saving it Prompts to Over wright the existing files , I don't need any prompts coming out for the user.
I've tried using the Application.DisplayAlearts=False but it does not work for me.
In order to overcome this , I created a routine to delete the files after the files have been emailed/Saved as draft but that too fails to delete the original Master excel file.
Is there a way to generate the excel files on the fly and without saving can I attach it to the email ?
Or would like to know your thoughts on a better way to handle this.

Why Does PE12 Misplace Added Overlay?

The project is pro-bono for the University of Maine's Surveying Engineering Technologies department and the Screencast-O-Matic clip fills up most of the frame with a much smaller picture-in-picture clip of the instructor should any of that matter. The Version PE12.0 (20130903.main.557123) project is being worked on a Windows 7 Pro 64-bit system.
The problem is this: The added smaller overlay clip of the instructor is placed on top of the larger screen captured video clip. Registration looks fine in PE12's 'Monitor' but after rendering (now three times!) that overlay clip has been shifted.
In particular, the original raw clips (both at 1920 x 1080) that are being worked with come from two sources:
Canon EOS 5dM3; .mov; H.264; 29.97 fps
Screencast-O-Matic; .avi; MP42; 10 fps - also its MP4 rendered version.
In the screen capture above as seen in Windows Media Player (VLC shows similarly) with the overlay clip having slid to the right and well beyond the rightmost limits of the frame.
In the screen capture below as seen in the PE12 'Monitor', the clip is properly placed left of the rightmost limits of the frame.
The well documented (http://forums.adobe.com/message/5770383) problems besetting PE10 and NVIDIA drivers; and moreover, Adobe's and NVIDIA's refusal to address them, forced me to purchase the upgrade to PE12. Thankfully those problems linked with PE10 are not present with PE12; however, it seems that there are new issues plaguing PE... including the program crashing within the first 60 seconds, and the eternity it takes to load an existing project.
In PE, I've tried various approaches in setting the New Project's project settings; e.g.,
DSLR 1080p DSLR 1080p30
DSLR 1080p DSLR 1080p30 @ 29.97
PE12 output rendering thus far has been limited to 1920x1080 in .wmv format (as requested by the University)
After the first disappointment, I checked for a PE12 update, and after its installation and rebooting the computer, have tried rendering out of PE12 twice more, both unsuccessfully and with identical results.

DAQmxSystem executable not running in Windows 7

I have a very simple vi that queries all DAQ hardware connected to a PC running Windows 7 (32 bit) and LabVIEW 2009.
This vi works perfectly well as shown in the screen capture above. I then create an executable, and this is where the problem occurs: when running the .exe on the same Windows 7 PC, the .exe returns an empty DevNames list. However, if I run the same .exe on windows XP, everything works as expected.
Reinstalled latest DAQmx 9.4 to no avail. Please help!

I run LabVIEW 2009 SP1 9.0.1 in 32 bit in Windows 7.
The reason I need this is for deployment of several CompactDAQ systems continously being moved (and modules also swapped) around across multiple PCs. I am running this function to determine which where each module type is connected before I start my data aquisition. If you have an alternative method to my end goal, I will take your suggestions.
I initially tried to do it using find.vi in syscfg.llb (not as elegant), but I have the same problem: work as a .vi, doesnt work as .exe in windows 7, and work as .exe in Windows XP.
