Capturing errors in trace file
If I intentionally out a error in report and run it through report bulider, the trace file shows proper errors.
But, If I try to run it from command prompt, it produces the trace file but dosen't give error information. I have tried giving TRACEOPT = TRACE_ALL. and all other trace options. Do we have any other way to capture errors in report.?
My reqirement is to log the errors produced in the report to a table, and find out the successful execution of the report.
Hi All ,
MY database is oracle 11G , SParc OS 64 Bit , i got the same error on my primary database.

Checking block corruption, why in alert it is saying Error in trace file
Hi,
I am using Oracle 10g 10.2.0.1 with linux 32 bit
I wanted to check block corruption using RMAN by following statement
backup validate check logical database;
when i executed the statement, following was the output
Starting backup at 09-MAY-08

and when i do the following query
select * from v$database_block_corruption in sqlplus
then there was no row
so it means there is no logical corruption, but when i am looking at alert log file it is giving following lines

Is it normal, why the in alert file it is saying that Error in.
And it did not create any backupset in folder of flash recovery but in Enterprise manager it is showing last backup on 09-may-2008, why ?
Regards,See logical corruption is normally termed as the internal inconsistancy within the block which is not caused by Oracle but by the user.So if you find internal inconsistancy than the best option is to look at the user and ask him to get the values sorted out.If the internal inconsistancy is some thig like index fragmentation sort of things or index entry pointing to a null rowid than they are termed as the logical corruption and they should not impact your normal as he data is already there and there is no issue in reading the block as such.
The term "corrupted blocks" I would call both in the tables and backup for those data blocks which are unreadable by Oracle which actualy is Physical corruption.
If i am doing the checking at 2:00 am, does it take more than two hours.I didnt understand this.
what can we do for Physical corruptionThis will need the block to be recovered with the Block Recover command of RMAN and a good backup.Read about it here,

To solve the problem I've to manually stop and restart the DeskIjob server, but after some hours the problem reappear.
How to solve it?

KQRCMT: Write failed with error=604 Errors in Trace File
Anyone know what errors like these in the trace file might indicate? I'm trying to diagnose why one of our application processes died without warning, and found this in the process trace file right about the time when it died. My Oracle Support turns up very few hits, none of them helpful. Google likewise had very little to say on the matter.
Also there were no errors thrown in the alert log during the time indicated in the trace file messages.

hi there,
is there a possiblity to change the configuration of the trace file output with tkprof therefore the complete error message can be seen?
the output of the tkprof is like the following
The following statement encountered a error during parse:
select col1, col2 ...
Error encountered: ORA-00918
=> the select statement will not be shown completely but will be cut.
neither in the tkprof output file nor in the original trace file the complete statement can be found.
can this be modified with a configuration change of the trace output?
thanks StefanThe trace output is the trace output is the trace output.
And without a version (I guess you are being beaten up for every character you type here?) it is difficult to tell what is going on.
It didn't use to be that way.
You can either dump the errorstack for event 918, using dbms_system.set_ev or dbms_monitor (whatever applies to your version)
or write an on_servererror trigger.
A sample trigger can be found on http://asktom.oracle.com

Trace file size reached the max size
Hi All,
This morning we had a issue with the oracle trace file. When I looked the alert log, i figured that there was an error saying Trace file reached max size. Question is what happens to the processes that tries to write to the trace file when the trace file was full?
My thinking is, the process, that tries to write to trace file, will hang until the trace file size is incresed. Am I correct. Please share you thoughts
Thanks
--Process will continue, it will not hang. Trace information will not be written once the trace file limit is reached.

Hi all-
I'm having some Final Cut problems, and hoping someone has an idea on how to help!! When I log and capture in Final Cut, occasionally it will get to the end of whatever I'm capturing and say "General Capture Error- an unknown capture error has occurred." Whatever I am capturing which I watched import in the computer disappears. In addition, if I try to use capture clip or stop the capturing say a minute before the end of the clip to avoid the problem, I still get a capture error and the file disappears.
I'm bringing my G5 in to Apple next week to get fixed. I'm also having trouble burning discs from iTunes and I can't Verify & Repair disk permissions. I'm running Final Cut 5.0.4. Is this the sort of problem where I should ask them to erase and reinstall everything? Thanks for any insight.I had the EXACT same problem, down to the last detail. And like you, I couldn't solve it. Tried everything. Called everyone. Researched everywhere. Nothing. But then I solved it.
It wasn't the computer, camera or any settings, it was the hard drive format. My external hard drive was formatted to FAT32, which has a 4GB file limit. So any video capture over 4GB would general error when it should complete the capture. I formatted the hard drive to Mac OS X Extended Journaled (which has a huge limit) and now it works perfectly. I just captured two separate hour-long files with no problem on Batch Capture. -

For example: Please see
No problem for the following message in trace file
J00 Trace Files Generated After 11g Upgrade With Bind Mismatch Messages [ID 1229793.1]
The Database Server Is Creating A Lot Of Trace Files From the VKTM Process [ID 837105.1]
Some sort of problem in the following trace file.
Ksvcreate: Process(M001) Creation Failed , Database hang [ID 1233079.1]

KhaledHello ,
To resolve the issue make sure that there are no extra underscore characters.
use:
fpga_0_FLASH_Mem_A_1_pin : out std_logic_vector (8 to 30) ;
--Syed

Ora-00604 error while taking tkprof of a trace file
Sorry i am giving the full erro but omitting exact table names
Hi ,
I have an error while taking tkprof of a trace file.
I gave the following command ---
tkprof <source.trc> <file.prc> sys=no sort=exeela,fchela,prsela explain= /
error is --
Error in create table of EXPLAIN PLAN table : unix_session_user.prof$paln_table
ORA-00604: error occurred at recursive SQL level 1
ORA-20001: Step-6:DDL
Event Security. You are not permitted to perform the requested structural
changes to PROF (TABLE)
Event triggered : CREATE
ora_login_user
(session_user) : unix_session_user(dummy)
Search : select count(*) from
tabl(dummy table name) where obj_name like '%\%%' escape '\' and obj_type =
'TABLE' and obj_type = 'USER' and ( event_CREATE = 'Y' or status =
'Override')
ORA-06512: at line 162
ORA-06510: PL/SQL: unhandled
user-defined exception
EXPLAIN PLAN option disabled.
i searched for the error and in oracle forum i found a solution .. http://forums.oracle.com/forums/thread.jspa?threadID=844287&tstart=0
but after giving the table option it is giving the same error
tkprof <source.trc> <file.prc> sys=no sort=exeela,fchela,prsela table=old_schema.plan_table explain= /
it again gave the same error.
In both two cases it gives elapsed time results, library cache missing etc but before giving this it throws ORA-00604 error as stated above
then i again correct the tkprof statement ..
tkprof <source.trc> <file.prc> sys=no sort=exeela,fchela,prsela table=new_schema.plan_table explain= /
say this schema name here i used is dummy schema name.
My question is did this error came as we had not sufficient previlages in the old_schema but that previleges we have in new_schema?
My databse version is 9.2.0.4.0
Thanks in advance

Edited by: bp on Feb 3, 2009 11:40 PMPlease post here full error message, there should be lines with ORA-00604 and then some other ORA as well.
And are there any trace files generated during this error?
And as You can see from error description, probably You will have to contact with Oracle support in order to solve this case:
oerr ora 00604
00604, 00000, "error occurred at recursive SQL level %s"
// *Cause: An error occurred while processing a recursive SQL statement
// (a statement applying to internal dictionary tables).
// *Action: If the situation described in the next error on the stack
// can be corrected, do so; otherwise contact Oracle Support. -

how to find this error in form and also this is occured one select statement, how to find this select statement where can be used in form,
i have one button ,when ever i press the button this error is ocuured,i check this button pl/sql procedure code but in this code not using that sql statement,
if any one know to find the sql statement through trace file.
plz give the replay as soon as possible.
thank'sThe newest SQL Developer can converts the trace to readable format too, I'm not shure if you see the sql statement related to the error then.
It seems you get ORA-00904 which says you use an invalid coumn in a dml statement.
Normally such error should pop up in message - do you overwrite the message handling or use exception handling in you form which block this message?
Easiest way to find this is to compile the form against the target database.
If this does not give an error, you should check, if you use dynamic sql statements which are wrong.
If you call database routines from your form, than this could be the errro cause too.
