Capturing Material Availabilty in CTM

Hi ,
Issue : Need to capture material availabilty in CTM .
There is one user exit which already written by our team for demand priorotization .
We have defined user exit in priorotization sequence before doing simulation
In this user exit , as per buisiness requirement , I need to capture Material availabilty date from R/3(Which is in schedule line item level)  but i was not able to capture .
Is there any way i can capture this date in this user exit .
Please help me

Ken ,
Thanks for your reply .
I am referring to sales order demands .

  • How to capture Material costs, profit margins in pricing

    Guys,
What is the way to capture material costs, profit margins and other sub-totals into the pricing procedure?
    Thank you.

    Hi
For capturing the material costs, you can use one of VPRS, EK01 or EK02 condition types. The usage of these condition types and their significance can be seen in some other thread here. There are lot of threads on these condition types.
You can also go to these links given below.
    http://sap.ittoolbox.com/groups/technical-functional/sap-log-sd/condition-type-ek01-ek02-1396383

    http://www.jt77.com/system-dynamics/model-04469.html
    http://www.sap-img.com/sap-sd/difference-between-condition-type.htm
This should also tell you something about profit margin.
For subtotals, there is a separate column in pricing procedure and  you can mention which subtotal a condition type or subtotal should correspond to. The subtotals range from 1 to 9 and then A to Z. The purpose of these subtotals can be seen by putting an F1 in that column or through some oss notes.
    Hope this helps you.

  • When I capture from tape, express 4 now breaks my captured material into separate shots, an icon in the browser for each. Before it captured the whole clip till I hit escape, and created just one Icon. How to i get back the way it was.

When I capture material from tape with final cut express 4, it used to create one icon for the whole clip. Now, when i capture, it breakes  the material down into many browser icons, shot by shot. I dont want that. How to I return to what I ahd before/

What you describe is normal behavior for HDV capture using FCE.
DV captures as one clip or may split the clip if there are timecode breaks on the tape.
HDV always breaks clips at the shot changes using FCE.
HDV cameras can downconvert to DV even if HDV was used to record the footage so it's important to know what the camera outputs during FCE capture.
Maybe this is why you have had mixed results with the differing capture windows?

  • Maintaining quality of screen captured material

I'm just starting what will be quite a large video editing project. This film will include a lot of screen captured material from online environments such as Second Life as well as video from the "real world".
I'm trying to work out the best way forward for editing the material and getting the results I want.
This particular question relates to getting screen captured text to look good in the final output from Final Cut Express 4. Just to reiterate that this is captured text I'm writing about not text that has been generated in the editor.
I use Telestream's Screenflow to do the actual screen capturing and in Screenflow the captured text looks very good with sharp edges. Of course I can edit to a certain extent in Screenflow, then output from Screenflow to a file using H.265 codec and that output file will have the captured text in a good clear form. That output file is in a small manageable file size, so there is a fair amount of compression.
However, when I use Final Cut Express to edit the captured video I have a problem. To describe the process, I export the video from Screenflow with Animation codec so that there is no loss in quality with the export. Then I import that into Final Cut Express. Of course that video needs to be rendered in Final Cut Express but in the rendered video the quality of the captured text is very poor. That is the problem. I am hoping there is some way to edit this captured video without causing the captured text to go bad. Screenflow will do this but I can't work out how to get Final Cut Express to do this.
Thank you for any assistance you can give.

    Hi Ian
Thank you for your posting but this is not the issue. The output from Screenflow is usually around 700 px in width. Before outputing from Screenflow I frame the part of the screen I wish to put into Final Cut Express.
The Lossless (Animation codec) output from Screenflow looks absolutely fine.
Even if I output from Screenflow to H.264 it looks absolutely fine.
The problem is that after I import this to Final Cut Express, then render that, the result is that the captured text chat becomes very bad.

  • KonaSD Captured Material & Edit to Tape Offset Craziness

System Configuration: Final Cut Pro v5.0.3, AJA KonaSD, Keyspan USA-28x USB-->Serial Adapter, ATTO UL3D SCSI card
Summary: A Playback Offset of -3 frames is needed to have a slate (.mov export from Adobe After Effects) inserted into a Digital Betacam tape at the same timecode address as where it is located on the Final Cut Pro timeline. Material captured by the KonaSD card requires an additional -3 frame offset in order to be inserted into a Digital Betacam tape at the same timecode address as where it is located on the Final Cut Pro timeline. If I go to Audio/Video Settings-->Device Control-->Device Control Preset Editor-->Playback Offset and set the offset to -3 frames, the slate will be inserted at the proper timecode address on a Digital Betacam tape. When that same sequence has KonaSD captured material that needs to be inserted as well, the KonaSD captured material must be moved 3 frames closer to the start of the sequence in order to have it inserted into the Digital Betacam tape at the proper timecode address.
    Steps to Reproduce:
    1. Load a .mov export from Adobe After Effects into a Final Cut Pro sequence, and spot it at 00:59:50:00.
    2. Load KonaSD captured material into the same Final Cut Pro sequence, and spot it at 01:00:00:00.
    3. Go to Audio/Video Settings-->Device Control-->Device Control Preset Editor-->Playback Offset and set a playback offset of -3 frames.
    4. Perform an edit to tape (insert edit) with a DVW-A500.
Expected Results: The slate should appear at 00:59:50:00 on the Digital Betacam tape, and the KonaSD captured material should appear at 01:00:00:00 on the Digital Betacam tape.
Actual Results: The KonaSD captured material appears at 01:00:00:03 on the Digital Betacam tape. It is edited to tape three (3) frames late.
Regression: This problem did not exist with Final Cut Pro HD with Mac OS X v10.3.9.
Notes: The only workaround is to manually shift the KonaSD captured material three (3) frames earlier in the timeline.
Does anyone have any insight as to what is going on here?
    Thanks for reading!

It has been my experience that FW control never results in perfectly frame accurate edits.
Since you have the BR-DV3000U deck, you have the option of serial control. I believe you might be able to get frame accurate edits with that, but I cannot say for sure.

  • Material availabilty and capacity

    Hi,
How would the system tie up the component availibility and the available capacity when finite scheduling is done and the operations have been shifted in the planning direction to newer dates. For eg when I release an order and run ATP for components the system does a confirmed date of say 08/31/2008. However when I finite schedule the order and using the CM21 table if I reshift the operations to an earlier date like say today 08/27/2009, then how would the componenet ATP react to it ?
    Thanks

    franckly telling not possible.
only thing is to make discipline like, when you save prod order, check material availabilty and if all available save order.
then those reservation created should not be availble to any other prod order
so in your checking group, include reservation in Goods issue, so system should consider the reservation should not make them availble for another order. that way no other order will be saved if there is lack of components.

  • Material Availabilty Date.

What way we can allow the system to update the Material availabilty date to be entered less than the server date. In order to push my Legacy orders in the system, I need the system to allow the Material Availabilty date field to be allowed to have the date in the past.
In standard Sap ecc6 its not allowing to do so.

This is in case of sales Order where under Shipping there are 5 dates, out of which there is 1 called as Material avail.date, in which the system do not allow to enter any date less than Server date. How can we allow the SAP system to do so.
The answer is no way related to my question.

  • Playback jumpy -- only on newly captured material

I've read everything about jumpy video in this and other forums. So, I assume I either have a Quicktime 7 problem (I have FCE 2 running on an iMac G5 with OSX 10.3.9 Panther), or I have a problem with my external hard drive and/or fire wire. I have a LaCie triple interface hard drive. I am connecting to my iMac with a firewire 400.
If my old footage is not jumpy does that mean my Quicktime is not the problem? Would that then be the decisive indicator that it was a problem in the capture and that I have an external hard drive problem? I guess another way to say that is 'Would my old captured footage be jumpy if I have a Quicktime 7 / OSX 10.3.9 incompatibility problem?
Also, if someone has any other thing that it could be I'm open to hearing about that.
    Thanks,
    DJ

Thanks for the quick reply. By jumpy I mean it is as if partial frames have been dropped. It's not smooth. Not whole frames -- it's not that pronounced -- but as if bits of frames have been dropped randomly and a consisitent but random occassion. I don't believe it's interlacing -- it's not a jitter -- but I don't know that I've ever seen interlacing to be honest. But it is definitley not a jitter. And yes the material has been captured by a Canon mini DV camera and all of the footage has the problem. Several projects have the same problem. I have done other projects with no problem like this, but this has recently started. I'm not sure when I upgraded to Quicktime 7, but it might very well be that, which is why I asked the question of whether that would also affect my older footage that had been captured before the move to 7.

  • Capturing material that was printed to tape

I shot 24pAdvanced, captured with Pulldown, and edited on a 23.98 timebase. Looks fantastic. So far, so good.
BUT...when I print to tape, and then capture THAT (again using Pulldown), this captured file is 29.97. Why shouldn't it be 23.98?
Again, I took perfectly good 23.98 material (24pAdvanced) that was captured using Pulldown, I then printed it to tape, and then captured this print-to-tape material. In capturing this print-to-tape material, I used Pulldown. BUT it's 29.97? Wha? And why?
(Please don't post a link to a primer on 24fps. Thank you!)

    Welcome to the discussions,
You say don't post a primer on 24P, but there is something you're not getting here. Pulldown is when frames are added (6 per second) to bring 24fps material up to 30 fps. ANYTHING on DV tape is 30 fps. 24P or 24PA are both recorded to tape at 30. With a pulldown added.
When you captured the 24PA material, you captured +with pulldown removal+, NOT "using Pulldown". That put it into your system at 24fps. In your system. Going back out to tape, FCP must add the pulldown back to play at 30 again. DV tape is 30fps.
FCP inserts a 3:2 pulldown - or 24P, not PA. Thus, if you want the pulldown removed, you must use Cinema Tools to do so +after capture+.
    Make sense?
    Patrick
P.S. obviously read 23.98 and 29.97 where appropriate

  • Problems Capturing Material! Help!!

    Hi,
For some reason, and I can't seem to work out why, FCP has started aborting capturing when it reaches 9 min, 59 sec, 24 frames (1 frame shy of 10 minutes), claiming that the hard drive has run out of space, despite there still being another 200GB left.
I can start capturing straight away again, and it is able to capture more material fine, but as soon as it reaches just shy of 10 minutes, it will abort every time, claiming there isn't enough disk space left.
I've been through all the User Preferences and System Settings, and there nothing set to suggest that it only captures up to either a certain file size or duration.
This is getting frustrating as I am working on several jobs and it is a pain to have to keep re-syncing all the material every 10 minutes!
Has anyone had a similar issue and how did they solve it??
    Cheers!

Capturing to a Mac OS hard drive - I'm capturing PAL DV and it always cuts out at around 9-10 minutes.
Yeah, used to use a FAT 32 drives at the macs at work, but like you said, hellish problems (understatement) so dropped those quickly.
The file sizes are mostly 2GB but a few vary between 1.54GB - 2GB (never more than 2GB)

  • Making FCP captured material available to someone else

    Hello,
I'm working on a project with someone who does not have FCP. Editing will be done in my little suite but it would be great if he could also review material at home at his leisure. We have over 70 hours of footage so making DVD copies from tape would be one difficult job. Is there some other way I could get him the material in a way that he could view it? All 70 hours have been downloaded to my computer. If I copied them to another hard drive is there any program that would allow him to view tapes captured through FCP? His is a PC.
    Thanks.

Umm, if you give him a firewire drive, I should think so, yes.
Could the files be accessed via a USB port?
Yes. BUt "access" and "use" are different results of using USB drives.
Also, I assume the drive I transfer my captured files to would also have to be 7200 RPM?
If you want it to be used realtime, at least 7200. Drive speed is only part of the issue. You won't be able to use a USB drive for media use but you can copy your files to and from a USB drive to and from a drive on a faster bus.

  • Material Availabilty Date Determination in Sales Order

    Hi Gurus,
When creating the sales order, if stock is not available then how the material availability date is determined.
What are the inputs the system consider for calculating the material availability date.
Even though I am giving the total replenishment leadtime, Inhouse processing time(Lot size independent), GR processing time and even the planned delivery time, the system proposing the current date as material availability date irrespective of the sales order quantity.
All responses will be rewarded suitably.
    Thanks and Regards,

    Available checking rule in SD.
It depends on the Availability group you have maintained in material master.
The checking rule specifies the scope of the availability check for the respective transactions in sales and distribution by specifying precisely which stocks, receipt and issue elements should be taken into account during the availability check.
Every checking rule is allocated to a checking group: together these two elements determine the final inspection requirements. In addition, the checking rule includes a specification whether or not an availability check should take into account the replenishment lead time ( i.e. Total time for the in-house production or for the external procurement of a product. In in-house production the replenishment lead time is determined to cover all BOM levels.)
Items for which the delivery date falls within the replenishment lead time, but for which there is no inventory, are confirmed for delivery after the replenishment lead time. In the case of items for which the delivery date falls after the end of the replenishment lead time, the system assumes that everything can be confirmed.
If you want the system to check the replenishment lead time, you should make sure that you have entered a value in at least one of the following three fields in the material master:
GR (goods receipt) processing time (Purchasing view)
Planned delivery time (MRP I view)
GR processing time (MRP II view)
Otherwise, the system confirms every requirement.
Ava checking group what you have maintained in material master and the checking rule  for SD (in std system is A)
--combination of above will decide how the ava check to be carried out and decide the delivery date. This sitting is available in SPRO in OVZ9.
If you carry out the availability check using the replenishment lead time, you should plan ahead in regular intervals (on a daily basis for individual and daily requirements, on a weekly basis for weekly requirements) to prevent a shortage and therefore a possible delivery block. This shortage could occur if the delivery date of a sales order, which was confirmed the previous day for the replenishment lead time, is already within the replenishment period on the current day and therefore results in a shortage.
    Hence,
    1. Check the configurations for the checking groups which are contained in the standard SAP R/3 System.
    2. Make sure that the checking group is maintained in the material master records. Depending on the plant, you can specify a checking group for each material type
    3. Select the individual stock elements as well as the receipts and issues which should be taken into account during the availability check.
    4. Select the field for replenishment lead time if you do NOT want to take the replenishment lead time into account.
Depending on above setting delivery date will e determined or delivery block in case no qty available can be designed.

  • Archiving captured material

I have been reading lesson 19 on how to outputt from FCE in order to try and archive captured clips. Over the last year I have captured about 70GB worth of footage for a sports team video. After completing the project, I have been approached by parents to build individual movies for their child. I started moving captured clips to new bins on the original project, which may cause a problem if I need to rebuild. This got me thinking I should have a better system for the future.
I'd like to archive clips by player and back them up. Is is possible to burn captured (HDV) clips onto a CD or DVD, as QuickTime files, in order use at a later date? I read that in order to make a video CD I would need Roxio's Toast, but I'm not sure if that is what I'm trying to do. I have read over various posts about backing up batches of clips and individual clips, so I apologize if this question has been asked over and over again.
    Thank you for any ideas.

Would I see a .aic note, or are the clips already converted as such?
No, they will appear as .mov Quicktime files. However, if you right click on one and click Get Info, +Under More Info > Codecs+ it should say Apple Intermediate Codec.
I'm assuming I can name files and drag to a data dvd in order to file clips as needed.
    That is correct.
Once I rename captured clips I will not be able to rebuild my original fce project, right?
You will be able to rebuild the original FCE project, but first you will have to reconnect the media. Right click on a clip that says +Media Offline+ in the browser, select +Reconnect Media+.
Then navigate to the same file that you have since renamed.
This tells FCE where to find that media file, because it has gotten confused once you renamed it. It might help to keep a sheet of paper where you record the original name of the clip and what you renamed it too, in case you want to reconnect the media later. Then, for example, when FCE asks you for the clip "GPS.mov," you can look on your sheet and see that you renamed that clip to "pie.mov" or something like that. Then you can tell FCE in the reconnect menu that "GPS.mov" is now called "pie.mov," and that is where the system should take the video from.

If you are on the last chapter of Tom's book you probably already know about this process.

  • Captured 1080i 50 material stutters

    Hi,
If anyone can answer this it would be greatly appreciated. My captured material plays back with a slight stutter and I can't figure out why.
I have a tape that was shot on the Sony Z1U camera at 1080i 50.(HDV material on a dvcam tape). I am capturing the footage to the FCP via firewire and a Sony HVR-M15U deck.
My audio/video settings are as follows:
    Sequence preset hdv-1080i50
    Capture preset hdv
Device control preset Sony HDV 1080i50 Firewire
    Video Playback-None
    Audio Playback-Default
Again, any help would be appreciated.
    Dave

I haven't dealt with PAL footage much, so I'm not sure how much help I'll be, but to me it still seems like a field issue (possibly interpolation instead of a dominance issue). Maybe switch things between Upper, Lower and None just to check. Are you just noticing this when viewing the clips in the sequence or also when the clips are loaded in the viewer? If also in the viewer, be sure to try changing the field order o the clip itself, too.
