Capturing present and future-dated transactions in Discoverer

Hello,
I'm building a report to capture all terminations processed in Oracle Human Resources. I'm keying terminations (using the End Employment Form in the HR application) to a test environment. I've entered historical terminations, terminations effective today (sysdate), and future-dated terminations.
Using Discoverer Plus, I'm able to build a report (simple row/column) that captures historical terminations that have occurred prior to today. However, I can't seem to pull in today's terminations and future dated terminations.
Any advice on how to capture these? Keep in mind I'm using Plus, I do not have access to Discoverer Admin so I do I have constraints especially in regards to joins and SQL manipulation (which is nil).
Thank you everyone and do let me know if you need more information.

Hi Nick
Is this a table that you created? If so, then it sounds like you may have to adjust the conditions in your report. The one area that we don't have control over is what the Discoverer administrator is doing behind the scenes. If there is a mandatory condition filtering to only past terminations then the only way to resolve this is in the Administrator tool. Also, if a database view is being used to make the data available and within the view there is a similar filter you will also be stuck.
Try creating a report in Discoverer that has no conditions at all and see if you can see the records. If you can then you just need to create appropriate filters to display the records you are concerned about.
If you still cannot see the data then you need to speak with your administrator, bearing in mind that the block could be within the database itself.
Best wishes
Michael

  • Spamtrainer and future dated spam

    I'm running:
    Mac OS X Server 10.4.11
    Updated the components from osx.topicdesk.com
    Cron job for spamtrainer
I noticed that spam with a date in the future does not get processed and erased when spamtrainer is run by the cron job.
    Is this normal?
Should I just delete the future dated spam from my junk mailbox?
    Thanks

It is normal and those messages will be used for training. Just not deleted. You can either leave them for future deletion or delete them manually. Doesn't really matter.

  • Present and future useage of "mailstop" field in Oracle Purchasing.

We have installed Oracle Applications Release 11.0.3 and need to use a field named "mailstop" in one of our custom applications. Need to know both current and future useage of this field -- which can be found in a table named PO_VENDOR_CONTACTS (this is 1 of 3 tables that contain the field named "mailstop").

My question was not really on ADF vs OAF, but the use of Reports tool in Fusion.
I did that search and got a couple of threads on that - It looks like Reports is not part of the Fusion stack -
Re: Best way to develop a BI Publisher Report
Re: OAF screens in R12 for People and Assignment Screens ..
It would have been great if Oracle provided a document (MOS note) that clearly stated the technology stack to be used in Fusion. And clearly state that Reports (and Forms) will not be part of the Fusion stack. If there is such a document, please provide the note ID.
    Thanks.

  • Changing Finder View settings to Columns - past, present and future files?

Please, please, please, and possibly please. Could anyone explain to me what I must do to open all my folders and files in Finder as columns. I never want to see another "list" or worse, "icon" when I open a finder window. Is this possible and if so how? This is not a quick lazy question but something that I have searched and searched for over the last 5 years since I dumped Windows for Mac but so far to no avail.
If there is any kindness out there please throw some my way and lead me out of darkness into the light of a List and Columns free Finder window/screen.

  • Present and future of Flash with AIR on iOS

I'm having a hard time finding clear information on the situation about deploying Flash with air runtine on iOS. While it seems clear that the plugin flash for iOS is ended I didn't find any infos about Adobe AIR. Is it still possible to distribute apps for iOS through the iTunes Store. Arte the apps using Air still running on iOS.
    Thank
    Marc

While it seems clear that the plugin flash for iOS is ended
There was never any Flash plugin for iOS. Apple has always been very forward about iOS simply does not support Flash. It ended for Android.
Adobe AIR apps compile down into native code (ARM for iOS). You're not actually running "Flash" or "AIR" at that point. This method of deploying apps is very convenient because the same code used to produce an AIR for iOS app can be largely re-used on the Android side, reducing overall costs involved in developing for both platforms.
I think it's pretty safe to say this method of app creation isn't going away anytime soon.
Lastly yes there are plenty of AIR for iOS apps on the market (I have some myself) and they all work fine as long as you do as an Xcode or Java developer would when a new OS comes out. You test for compatibility and update as necessary to keep your app functioning properly. The vast majority of fixes needed come from OS changes, not issues with Adobe AIR. Stability is very good.

  • Future Dated Invoices and Payments

    Hello
Can you give me some inputs about Future Dated Invoices and Payments..?
    What its importance?
What would the effect on the AP Trial Balance and Account Analysis if I use it?
    Thanks
    Grace

    Hi Grace
Future dated payments are the post dated cheques (in layman's language). For example - When we take some office space on rent, we need to pay monthly rent for it. Generally, the owner of the office would like to have the cheques provided to him on the date of agreement dated for the respective month (as a matter of security). These cheques will bear the date for the respective months. Lets say you enter into an agreement on 01-May-2010 for one year, you will provide 12 checks dated 01-May-2010, 01-Jun-2010, 01-Jul-2010 etc. All these checks would be post dated payments.
These payments do not reduce the cash/bank balances as on the date of issue. This happens on the date of maturity of payment (check date). These payments are entered into the oracle system by using the payment method "Bills Payable" or any similar payment methods.
The accounting for these payments (at the time of recording the payment) - Supplier Liability Dr. and Future Dated Payment Liability credit. It will not have much impact on the trial balance except for the fact that the liability code combination would change -- from supplier liability to future dated liability. On the date of maturity, when you run the report to matrue the bills payable, the status of the payment changes to negotiable and then the accounting takes place - Future Dated liability dr... and cash/cash clearing credit.
Hope this explains. Let me know if you have any further question or ned any further clarity

    Hi
You can view this information in the Invoice Inquiry screen.
The navigation for the same from any standard responsibility is Invoices>Inquiry>Invioces - This will open the Find Invoices window.
For e.g. you want to find out which supplier have the Prepayments and Future Dated Payments available, than perform the following search:
Enter the supplier name in the supplier name field and click on the TAB - Calculate Balance Owed, thereafter Calculate Balance Owed screen will appear and then click the Calculate Button which will display the following information:
    Invioce Count and Balance:
    Unpaid Amount:
    Future Dated Payments:
    Less Available Prepayments:

  • R12 Future Dated Payments

    Hi All,
Kindly let me know if there is a solution for the below case.
Ex- there is a future dated payment issued in oracle with maturity date as on 01 June 2011, now during the time of issuing the accounting would be Supplier Liability Dr to Future Dated Payment Cr.
Now on the date of maturity (i.e 01 June 2011) the status of the bill would be negotiable (i.e when the program 'update future dated payments status' is run) and the accounting would get changed to Future Dated Payment Dr to Cash Clearing Cr.
Now as per the business process Bank would be sending me a document, which would contain the details of the bills that have been submitted to the bank and only after that i have to change the status to negotiable and create the respective acconting.....for ex..in the above case, if the supplier submits the bill to the bank on 10 June 2011 instead of 01 June 2011, then the status neotiable and its accounting has to on 10th june only.
Any pointers to the above issue would be of great help....

  • Past and future calendar events

My calendar goes back to the 90's. I want it all on my phone but it seems to disappear only months in the past. I book appointments as far in the future as a couple of years... Yet my calendar only shows a few months into the future. This is not good for me. I need to reference past present and future dates. I have sync past events selected yet still these events do not show on my phone.
    PLEASE HELP!!!!!!! LOL
    Cyber

A related question is why there is a limit of one year in search in iCal on the iPhone. I have 7plus years of iCal events and only the most recent one year can be searched. (The search works ok on the desktop.) And, there is no jumpToDate facility in iCal on the iPhone; I can only scroll fast in the list view to get to distant past events. I don't think iCal on the iPhone is up to the normal Apple app quality.

  • Add field and Display future dated data in OrgChart

    Configuration
SAP Talent Visualization by Nakisa 2.1 under LIVE connection.
    Questions
    1) Add fields to Details(for Position/OrgUnit/Employee) window in OrgChart
We have a few requirements to display additional data in Details window.
Do we need any developments to add the following items to Details window ?
Position's General Description data (stored in IT1002)
OrgUnit General Description data (stored in IT1002)
Name, Phone No., Gender(and other personal information coming from various infotype) of employees, who belong to position
    2) Display future dated Organizational Structure in OrgChart
We also have requirement to display future dated OrganizationalStructure.
The future dated Organizational Structure should ONLY availablefor people from HR and executives.
                How can we do this?
    3) Security Setting
Regarding to the question above, how can we create the security roles (in Nakisa) for therequiremets listed below?
The security setting in SAP allows managers only can see employee's data, who belongs to the managers organization.
The security setting in Nakisa OrgChart allows every employee can see all organizations and other related objects.

    Hi Ogawa,<br/><br/>
Please see my responses in bold.<br/><br/>
    I hope that helps!<br/><br/>

<b>In order to configure manager security you will need to undertake some XML configuration. This is not advisable unless you have experience of configuring the XML files, particularly with security as it is highly complex configuration. There are a couple of consultancies with specialist skills (Emeritis, ROC, Nakisa) that have the expertise to perform this type of configuration.</b>
    <br/><br/>
<b>In order to do this you need to configure an authentication source and populate the user population and rolemapping sections of the LoginConfiguration_<type>.xml in the Authentication folder of your build. <type> refers to the type of authentication you are using (SAP logon forms, Portal integration with Logon Tickets etc). You will then need to map the roles in RoleMapping.xml in the Security folder of your build and then configure each role in Roles.xml. You need to create a hierarchyscope for each dataelement you are restricting data for and then add the security keyword to the sections in AppResources.xml that you are restricting with this particular scope.</b>

  • Universal Customer Master (UCM) Future Dated Records

    Hi
My organisation is assessing Universal Customer Master and wants to put data from HRMS into it via data interface. However, we do not know if future dated records are able to be entered into UCM. This presents an issue, as HRMS records tend to have future dated changes that would not necessarily show in UCM.
    Any advice would be appreciated.

    video footage.
    17) Fully customizable user interface with choice of colours
    and icons.
RefinedVideo is a complete solution for incorporating video
    in Adobe Connect.
    THE PROBLEM
    ============
If you currently use Presenter then you already know that it
has some serious limitations when it comes to using video. Slide
based video must be in SWF format encoded using the old Sorenson
codec. That means your video files must completely load before they
start playing. This leads to long wait times for users; want to
play a 5 minute video? Expect a 2-3 wait time while the movie
loads. Forget longer content like training videos.
The video's dimensions are also limited as quality degrades
    quickly at large sizes.
Adobe will tell you to put streaming flash video in the
presenter panel but this area is tiny and still uses the old codec.
You cannot pause, rewind and fast-forward the content and what
about if your show runs without the presenter panel showing?
If you update your presentation frequently, expect long wait
times as the video files are embedded and must be uploaded to the
server each time you make a change.
    THE SOLUTION
    =============
RefinedVideo is a complete solution to these issues as it
allows you to play high-quality video in fullscreen resolution with
no waiting. Use streaming FLV format using On2 VP6 compression to
provide higher quality at lower bandwidth with almost no wait times
    in most cases.

    All the Best,
    Terry

Ahh, if only that were entirely true!
While you're correct that you can embed flash in your
Presenter files, it's still not possible to use the latest On2 VP6
codecs which is what you need to do if you want high quality large
size video files. Using the Sorenson codec which is what would be
required by your suggestion, means that the video tends to be quite
pixillated and limited to a small frame size, otherwise you end up
    with lots of buffering delays.
Our solution allows you to run fullscreen video of unlimited
length from within Presenter and it works in self-paced
presentations and meeting room environments too.
