Capturing screen to movie – need tools that Apple use

I've seen this video tutorial about Leopard: http://www.apple.com/macosx/guidedtour/
pay attention to zoom-in and zoom-out effects. I need these effects in my video lessons too. What tool does Apple use? It's seems that it's not Snapz Pro. What can it be?

I am pretty sure that is done in the editing stages.
(bring screen capture in to final cut pro, and zoom / pan / etc.)

There were no PowerBooks made in 2007. By then Apple had switched over to Intel and they were making MacBook instead.

You can cron or otherwise automate the following command:
screencapture -x silentscreenshot.jpg
The x switch means the machine will not play the shutter sound.

Capturing Screen to Movie is slow when capturing Poser

Hi, i use Poser for 3d graphics. I want to do screen capture movie using ScreenFlick, a program that captures the screen to a movie.
And the problem is I want to capture Poser while i use tools to move around my 3D World. The poser display uses Open GL.
I notice that it moves nice and smooth when i dont have the ScreenCapture recorder( tcapture to movie) ON. But as soon as i turn it on, i move around my scene zoom in, rotate etc and it gets slow and choppy.
I guess it's cause the Sc reen Capture program uses processor power and then Poser also takes a chunk of it.
But in anycase, i would like to know .. is it just impossible to have smooth moving graphics in my Poser preview mode when i use screen capture utilities?
I use ScreenFlick but i heard there is a new program for OS X 10.5 that claims to capture totally smooth(http://www.apple.com/downloads/macosx/video/screenflow.html). I dont use 10.5
I have a basic Mac G5 1.8Gzh, single processor and with 2GB RAM.

I'd open Activity Monitor in Utilities & see what CPU usage is, what Disk Activity is, Memory Uasage and such.
How much free disk space do you have on what size/speed drive?
Also, Thousands of Colors may be faster than Millions of colors if that suffices.

Can someone tell me the difference of running the apple diagnostic tool that apple has supply online vs the diagnostic they do at apple?

At apple when the "apple genius" check to see if anything is wrong with your macbook hardware. They would connect an ethernet cable to the macbook and run there diagnostic. Are there any difference between either diagnostic test. And does the apple diagnostic test (the one that they supply instruction online) check all hardware inside? I remember see there screen was much different from the diagnostic screen i just ran (which was all gray with a little progress bar.)

Apple Service Diagnostics (ASD) is very time-consuming and produces results that refer to service procedures not available to the general public. It is not available outside of authorized Apple repair facilities. Without supporting documentation, its results could easily be misinterpreted. Apple also has additional diagnostic procedures for certain specific purposes.
Apple Hardware Test (AHT) is faster and more superficial. It performs cursory tests that do little more than check for the presence or absence of operable hardware.
AHT has been superseded with Apple Diagnostics in Macs produced after June 2013.

Can't watch rented movies, need to authorize apple tv...

I downloaded a movie and when trying to watch it, apple tv advises that this apple tv is not authorized.... where do I authorize it, guess it must be like authorizing a computer to play purchased songs or movies from iTunes Store, but where do I authorize it ??

That link is useful, but I'd advise recreating the library only as a very last rseort - I did it once and it lost all the custom tags I'd added in iTunes together with a load of artwork for albums. Didn't work either!
I had problems authorising playback on my AppleTv when I did this - it sorted itself out inexplicably - I personally think it was due to problems with Apple's servers not responding for a few hours. Not ideal, but I'd give it 24 hours or so to see if it fixes itself.
Ensure you somehow haven't inadvertently altered your store/location settings in AppleTV which might cause it to connect to the wrong store to authorise.
Also, it would be worth pulling the plug and rebooting if you haven't done that already.

Nothing new about material that Apple uses on iPod

Ok. I'm sick and tired of hearing people **** and moan about scratches on their iPod. If you want the greatest MP3 player on the planet, do yourself a favor and buy an iPod immediately. I've owned every iPod that has come out and they all scratch! Period. I remember the 1G iPod that I had purchased and put in a generic MP3 case by case logic (back then there were not 50 different companys making cases for the iPods) the case had some mesh pockets in it. After a day of taking it in and out of the case the mesh had scratched the front of it. NO BIG DEAL FOLKS. Apple's products are first and formost aesthetically pleasing. The Acrylic they use on the iPod is crystal clear and beautiful. It's like art work. The Smithsonian has one on display for hells sake. I've tried all cases, iSkins, Rhinos and now the invisible shield. They all scratch (no word on the invisible shield just yet). Something about physics I think. Friction? Anyway what I'm trying to say is yes Apple should use a little more durable material but you can bet that it wouldn't look as hot as it does. Steve Jobs once said that sex sales, and he wants his products to be sexy as ****. I say do you want a sexy item that you have to pamper, or do you want an ugly item that you can beat the **** out of. I'll take the look. Maybe I'm shallow......Just my two cents. - Go to settings>iTunes and App Stores and sign out and sign into your account.
- Apps are locked to the account that purchased them.
- To update apps you have to sign into the account that purchased the apps. If you have apps that need updating purchased from more than one account you have to update them one at a time until the remaining apps were purchased from one account.

For years, Apple had lots of third party software listed on their website. Now, it's gone without so much as a link or even a paragraph of text to find it.

Any network discovery tool that supports CLI/CDP?

May popular network discovery tools out there (such as WhatsUp Gold, Solarwind) are based on SNMP. Even though they claim to support SSH/Telnet, but they didn't seem to work the way I thought.
What I'm expecting is a software that mimic the way a human being do on discovering a swtich network:
1) Get to the CLI of the 'seed' switch
2) Do a "show cdp neighbor detail"
3) Look at the entries that have IP address
4) Telnet/SSH to that IP and repeat step 1-3 above
Ideally, the software can cycle through a credential list in case different credentials are needed on different devices.
The closest I can found is "NetBrain". But it seems to be an overkill for light use. I could have written some VB Scripts along with SecureCRT to achieve this. But want to check before reinventing the wheel.

I think that all the relevant information from CDP/MAC/ARP etc. is available through SNMP, so there is no need to control a login-session and invest much brain in parsing the output. Especially if you think about that the outout could be different after an image-upgrade.
Beside of that, a good tool that also uses CDP for discovery is Netdot, or if I understand it right, the underlying software netdisco.

Why is it that Apple no longer offers games for the ipod classic?

I just purchased an ipod classic and i just realized that I can't find any games for download on itunes. I also have an ipod nano and I know that Apple used to offer games for ipods other than the touch. Now they act like the touch is the only ipod that exists. I'm starting to think i should just return the ipod and go with a different brand of Mp3. My family has been telling me to get a Cowon and now I'm starting to wish i'd listened.

I called apple support and ask them why when watching a movie and iPad go to sleep movie pause and that never used to be like that using the older iOS even if I touch the lock on top of screen movie would still play he said that wasn't the case and I know

Help needed on the logic used to display ERP Sales order in CRM WEB UI

I have a requirement where i need to trigger an activity/workflow in CRM for orders that are created through ERP Salesorder functionality. In the workflow list, we need to give the order description and provide an hyperlink to the order number. on selection of order number, it should display the ERP sales order. To achive this in workflow, i am trying to understand the as-is standard functionality which is available in Agent Inbox search on ERP sales order.This search is getting the ERP orders and on selecting the order it is opening the ERO sales order page. I tried debugging the method GET_MAINCATAEGORY available in the component iccmp_inbox and in the view Inboxsearch.But couldnt really able to crack the logic how it is retrieving the ERP sales order from inbox search. Any pointers on how this is achieved will be of great help.

very good idea. I thougt myself about that workaround, but it is not really that for what I searched.
I mean the "SAP Query" is a really good standard tool, that are used by many customers. That is why think there must be a standard way to display the SAP Query in the Web UI without using Transaction Launcher.
But it seems that there is no way, except of the transaction launcher or by using an additional analyse system like SAP BI.
By the way do you know a Web UI compoment which enable the user to start reports like SE38?

To download a movie on the new Apple Tv 1080p, I have to be in the the ready to play screen, It takes Forever to download a movie, the other day I download a movie and didn't have to be waiting on that screen, I was watching DirecTV and the next day when the movie was Fully Download I Watch the movie. Does this Apple TV has a small hard drive to save at least one or two "rented movies"? Thanks...

No.
The black AppleTVs have no hard drives.
They have some solid state memory to buffer movies but it's not like a download that stays on the device.
The memory is recycled for other tasks when you use AppleTv for other tasks and this happens without warning.
You need:
2.5 Mbps internet to watch SD near instantly, 6 Mbps for 720p HD and 8 Mbps for 1080p HD.
If you find downloading far too slow you could reduce to 720p or SD in itunes store settings for the unit, or alternatively download to iTunes on your computer instead then play back on AppleTV under teh Home Shared Computer icon.

I have an ipod touch 4g. I want to use our internet hdtv as a monitor so others can see my screen in 40". Sony guy said that can do it wirelessly through the internet router instead of Hdmi without the need for an apple tv.Is this true and how do I do it?

As I said above, I want to view my iPod screen on our new 40" Sony Internet full HD TV.
I know that you can do this via HDMI but a Sony guy said that you should be able to do this wirelessly by going through the router. Is this true and can I do this without the need for the Apple TV?
We are soon going to get the airport extreme, so will it work with that?

1. Is it a smart TV?
2. If so.... Is the TV connected to the Internet?
3. If it is.... Check if your iPod and your TV share the same IP address (Wi-Fi network)
4. If they do.... Then you should go to wherever your "Other Media" tab is.
5. After that.... Search for you iPod. Because it is connected to the same network, it should recognize the device they same way AirPrint does.
6. If you happen to see this fail, then try this method:
1. Do you have a Bluetooth-enabled computer/laptop?
2. If so.... Enable the bluetooth on the computer/laptop as well as your iPod.
3. After that.... Your iPod should be actively searching and it should find the computer/laptop.
4. If it did.... Transfer the file onto Windows/Mac (preferably Mac) and find the program to open the file.
5. After doing so.... Connect your computer/laptop to the TV via HDMI Output Cable.
6. Now it should work!
