Capturing screen video for demo

Does anyone know of a technique or inexpensive software
product to make a screen video I can use in a flash version.
I can convert QT to flash, etc. This also has to be Mac OS
and hopefully have a sound component. Macromedia has Captivate but
is pricy.
Thanks

  • How can I capture screen video (as opposed to just a screen shot) from my iPad?

How can I capture a video shot of my iPad 2 (as opposed to a still screen shot)?

Thanks so much for your reply. How would I go about mirroring the ipad screen onto my laptop? If I could do that, then I would think I could use Camtasia to get the video shot. I know I can use and hdmi conncetion to get the ipad screen to show on my TV but I'm not sure how to do it on my computer since it doesn't have an hdmi connection.

If so what kind of equipment do I need to do the job properly?

does anyone know how to capture/record video from a website? I've tried snagit, but the output doesn't seem to jive with what I want to do. Anyone have any ideas?

If the video is protected (i.e. you can't click in the bottom right hand corner and save it) then Snapz Pro is one solution.

  • Video Screen shot for Demo Video

I am building a complex website and want to take a video demo of my screen as I walk through it's different steps. Can I do that with quicktime? Is there a program out there for mac that would allow me to do that?

Another option is a new app called ScreenFlow.

  • Can someone help me synce my old G5 Motorola to my snow leopard laptop so I can use Quitktime with video screen capabilities for demo purposes and a job I have with a major website? Thanks!

Is there anyway that I can sync this Motorola G5 dual, OS 10.5.8 with my ibook OS 10.6.8 so I can use the quicktime application on the Mororola? I need to network the two computers and if someone could kindly tell me how to do this with either wifi, USB, orFirewire, I'd be very grateful. My ethernet connection is in use and I only have one and no hub. Doing this will give me the ability to work for a site that needs my expertise in recording but I have old equipment right now on the recording end. No chance to upgrade at this point as we're broke and I'm severly injured, so I am trying to find a workaround that will let me access this copmuter, with snow leapord to work with the old one with (Motorola G5 dual w/10.5.8). It means a few bucks to us if I can make it happen, and my family really need to dough. It  will keep me from having to convert things to a youtube format, take the extra time involved to do that, when, instead, I could just take screen recordings instead. Unfortunately, I don't have Pro Tools on this computer or all would be fixable.
I'm really hoping that you or someone else can help me get these two macs synced so I can do this. DO you think you can help me? Thanks so much! Scotty Goldberg

Thanks so much for your reply but that won't help in my current situation. Maybe I didn't make it clear. The latest version of Quicktime as new as it sounds doesn't support screen recording on a powermac G5 Motorola chip with OS 10.5.8 which is the highest os I can go with that machine. If I can sync the two computers so I can get the application to record from my newer computer then I'm ok. I just don't have the recording application for audio that I'm using to demo for the website on the laptop as it's about 10,000 dollars. So, I have to use the older computer to do the audio presentation and try to get the newer computer synced to it so I can use the new version that works on snow leopard to record a screen shot that will hopefully appear on my laptop instead of the old machine. Hope that makes sense. It's a bit confusing but in a nutshell it's like this:
    1. I am a Pro Tools Instructor which is the state of the art application and recording device for audio and movie scoring and I have a new job where I make small snippets of tips using Pro Tools which I'd like to record with quicktime on screen as they happen
    2. the best version of Quicktime Pro available for the Power Mac, OS 10.5.8 will not do screen recording on it.
    3. I can use the Quicktime application from my newer laptop but I need to sync it to the old machine
    4. I'm hoping but I don't know, if I do this, that I can record Pro Tools in action from my new machine buy seeing it on this laptop screen and then recording it with the new quicktime.
    5. If I can sync the two computers, I'm hoping this can happen but I can't use my ethernet connection as I have it used to connect to my recording console and can't afford to buy anything new like an ethernet hub yo connect the two so I'm hoping that there's another way to connect them.
I hope that makes sense and that possible you or someone else can help. Thanks so much! Scott

  • Capturing iOS video for trailers?

Hi all, this didn't seem to be covered here (maybe I missed it). Just wondering about the best way to capture game/app footage from an iOS app to be used for trailers/promo use? The best way I can figure out is to do an Xcode build and use something like Snapz Pro X on my Mac desktop.
Any other solutions out there? Thanks!

That will work if you don't mind using the simulator and PhoneFinger.
You might try iSimulate which has worked for me in the past and you can always do what the pros do and point a video camera at the screen on the device. Apple uses an overhead camera for tech lectures, etc.

  • Capturing Screen Video with Quicktime Screen Recording

I've just found that Quicktime can record everything on the screen. This is very useful as I want to produce some training videos that are based on web-browsing. The problem is that I want to be able to zoom in on parts of the screen and I saw elsewhere a trick that invloved using Universal Access to Zoom in with either the mouse wheel or Keyboard. The problem is that these zooms don't appear to be recorded in Quicktime. Is that correct, or am I missing something?

Can you help with this from an Oct 2010 post?  I'm having the same trouble in OS 10.6.8--random dropouts in QT Screen Recordings using QT Player 10.0 (131).  The original poster said the problem only happens when recording sound, but I need sound.  If you can help, please email me at blockard @@ iname . com.  Thanks!
"Sometimes it records fine and I end up with a full recording, sometimes the middle is gone, sometimes just the end. The file size doesn't seem to matter; I have some good recordings that are nearly 500MB, and some that failed when they are only 30MB (and I have well over 300GB free)."

  • Capturing on screen video

Does anyone know whether apple has an application to capture on screen video?
I know about the "Grab" application that allows the user to capture elements of the screen.
Is there an application that would capture on screen video?

There is an app called 'Display Eater' which I have used for demonstrating some issues I have had while beta testing an application, this should be able to record onscreen activity but I don't know the quality of a recording of a movie.
Remember to respect copyright on anything you might want to record.

  • 970 4G FPS drop for second screen when playing full screen video

    Hi,
I have two 1440p monitors connected to my graphcis card using DVI connectors.
Whenever I play a full screen video on the secondary screen, I was always get an FPS drop. It doesn't matter if I switch the cables around to make the other one the secondary screen.
I have tried replacing the monitors and the same thing happens and I can only conclude it must be the graphics card.
Does anyone know how I can troubleshoot this problem?

    1) I'm not familiar with this concept. Why would switching port type provide more bandwidth?
    2) Also, the card I'm referencing only has 1 display port connection. Would using one dvi and one display port cable work?
    1) Google for "dvi", "hdmi" & "displayport" and you'll find out why.
    2) use DisplayPort + dual-link DVI (always suggested by Nvidia)

  • No full screen button for many flash videos (with the exception of youtube).

I am using windows 8.1. I have updated flash and firefox. I can watch full screen videos on youtube but on sites like thedailyshow.com or southparkstudios.com there is no full screen button (only a cc button). I can find the button in chrome but not in ie or ff.

If I understand correctly, your instructions enable a web page to be viewed in full screen. I'm having trouble viewing videos in full screen. No button exists to expand a video. I can expand any video on any browser on YouTube but the button isn't there when watching videos on sites like dailyshow.com or southparkstudios.com (it's there in Chrome but not in ff or ie, which leads me to believe it's not an Adblock plus, et al issue.
Thanks in advance for your help.

  • I wanna try a sleep hypnosis video on youtube which last eight hours, is it okay to leave it on video for that long? Or will the screen overheat?

I wanna try a sleep hypnosis video on youtube which last eight hours, is it okay to leave it on video for that long? Or will the screen overheat?

Intensive video games can cause some heating, but if it's just a video showing it shouldn't be a problem. An iPad 3 or iPad 4 is more likely to heat than the iPad 1 or iPad 2 due to the retina display.
Do you have to view the display the whole 8 hours? You may want to lower the screen brightness.
You will probably have to keep the iPad plugged into the wall charger.
