Capturing the POST RESULTS function

Hi all,
Firstly, I have posted this question before some time ago, so I apologies to those that recognise it. I am hoping that after more people have had a go with Captivate 5 a solution to my question might be out there!
What I want to do is capture the fact that a user has posted their results. We use the (I must say impressive) quiz analyser, it has worked great for many a student and we are really happy with it, BUT we are trying desperately to find a way to move onto the next slide ONCE the user has posted the results. The reason for this is that we write quite a bit of information to a database once these results have been posted. This information can easily get lost if the user posts there results, thinks "great its all over" and closes the window. Our current workflow is post results and then hope the user hits another button to continue. If they dont the .php file does not get launched and we loose the db info!
Could anyone perhaps tell me what actually gets fired when the dialog window appears for the user to enter their post result data or if it is possible to capture the fact that results have been submitted?

Can the Post Results box for name and email be resized?

Depending on the size of the browser window the box that asks for name and email for posting quiz results can be very small. Is there any way to resize it? This is with Captivate 6 and Scalable HTML Content turned on.

Hi Judy,
These are run time messages and you can change it by the below steps:
If you want to modify specific labels that you can't modify through Captivate, you can do this with the file strings.txt, that is located in Adobe Captivate instalation folder >en_US
1. Open file
2. Modify whatever label you want
3. Save.
4. Rename to strings.zdct
5. Replace original strings.zdct file
6. Restart Captivate
I suggest you backup original strings.txt and strings.zdct files - just in case.

Please help me! I did a slideshow presentation in Powerpoint, then captured the end result in SnapzPro. Now what is the best way to burn this to a disc so that it can be watched on any pc / mac without losing quality? Its poor when I burn it via iDVD.

Its crucial to keep the quality as best as possible, as this is a portfolio of my professional photographs and graphic design projects. Is there any need to go through iMovie? I captured it as an Animation in SnapzPro, which is now in a Mpeg4 Quickmovie format.

I want to keep all these converted movies on my hard drive because down the road I want to extract other clips from them so I can make a 'best of' movie for my other family members. I may want to do that next year.... or whatever..... so I want to have the imovies available for me when that time comes.
In order to do this am I going to have to buy a lot..... and I mean ALOT of extra hard drive space? That darn Canopus was really making files for me that were like 60-80GB's per one half hour movie!!

Can I make the quiz "EXIT" or close after posting results?

I have been able to make the QUIZ post to my internal server, but after the "Name / Email" dialog box appears and posting is "successfully" done, the results screen remains visible (possibly allowing a second posting).
Is there any way to make the QUIZ close once the posting has occured?
Also, I noticed that if I choose not to display the score, the post results button does not appear. In order to hide the score, I change the fonts to match the background color. Perhaps there is a way around this too, as I am new to Captivate and don't know all the little tricks yet.

Thanks for your suggestions. Since I am considering having students take the exam I will be working with the school to see how to integrate with the LMS server. I suspect the variables will be passed directly and all will work out well.
When you said “the answers are sent at the point you submit each answer” I assume this is not the case with an internal server, which is why the results have to be posted by the user.
To that end, I am testing the exam with my internal server, which does capture the test results properly. But, this requires the appearance of the results slide, which opens a small dialog requesting name and email (although the email can be anything). Once the results are “posted successfully” the original results slide returns. I cannot even add a button, nor edit the action of existing buttons to continue to another slide --- it’s as if the program is hard-wired to only behave with the default buttons on the results slide.
I just wish there were a clean way of exiting the exam. The results slide only has an ENTER action, but no exit action choice in the properties. I am just unable to move to another slide beyond the results slide and I suspect that I am doing something wrong.
I appreciate your advice, so thank you for taking the time to discuss this with me.

How can I change the login screen to post results to a local server?

I am using Captivate 5 and posting quiz results to a local server.
When students complete modules and then login to post quiz results, they see a login dialog box that instructs them to:
Enter Your Name:
Your Email ID:
Unfortunately, these are not the items I want reported to me. I have them enter an alternative ID in each field. Although I warn them to enter what I need rather than what the dialog box requests, inevitably some fail to do so.
Is there a way to alter what is displayed in this dialog box? I'm aware that some rdl files have default messages, but I do not know what file might control these messages.

As I thought, nobody is able to help me ><.
I found some new things like the CPGURU widget which seems to do exactly what I want for 50$ :

Michael, the developper, figured out how to send the whole data avoiding the post results popup. I'd like to buy this but my superior doesn't agree.
I also tried to find by myself by decompiling(not sure of the word) the captivate published SWF:
Quiz data is send by a class named InternalServer extending a TrackingAdapter class.
Post results popup seems to be an instance of the "InputDialog" class.
If I can find the place where this AS3 script is generated I think I can modify it to match my needs.
I'll be happy to share the solution for free if I success.

Getting the search result as an object---URGENT

Hi,
I want to capture the search results in an object and perform certain functions on it.
To achieve it we have seen certain procedures, the bottle neck is how to get the portlet instance id of the generated page.
Any pointers to achieve the same ??

Please provide a bit more detail. What version of portal are you using? What are the " ... certain procedures ... " that you mention.What sort of object do you want to capture the results into? An Oracle Object Type? Why do you need to the portlet instance id?

Wf_notification.getNtfResponse in post notification function

Was not sure if this was an answer or a question, so here is a signature for the function in question from wf_notification package shipped by someone named 'dmani' I guess. Using it in postNotification function always returns NULL. Just wanted to hear from Oracle or someone if this is another feature or I am missing something or this can not be used there.

Post notification functionality

Dear Experts,
         I have defined a workflow which will sending approval notification to multiple people. I have enabled the 'EXPAND ROLE' checkbox for the notification.
The actual issue :
Notification is send to multiple people. But if anyone has performed their action(Approve/Reject) then rest all their approval notification is not available in their queue.
Expected behavior
Each user needs to do their approval individually.
What I have done:
1.   I created the adhoc role and we assigned the required set people in the role.
2.   Expand role has been enabled.
3.   We added the post notification function but we didn't write nothing inside except null. (Coz I dont know what i need to do).

Expand Roles would work for a FYI, but realistically you are setting up a Single Notification which can only handle 1 response. If one person Approves the WF moves on. You can follow up the Approve/Reject with a FYI saying it was approved so the other can see what, who, when. If you need everyone to Approve/Reject you need to go into a looping scenario like POAPPRV/REQAPPRV to get everyone's individual response to move forward. Or you can look at Voting which will save everyone answer and approve or reject based on criteria you define.
Realistically, the Notification still exists in the Notification List if they look at the Closed Notifications tab

TABLE(CAST()) function not returning the correct results in few scenarios.

I am using TABLE(CAST()) operation in PL/SQL and it is returning me no data.
Here is what I have done:

I am calling get_target_weights from my java code and passing p_in_template_target with 10140 records.
Scenario 1: If target_pct in the last record is 0, p_out_count returned from the procedure is 0.
Scenario 2: If target_pct in the last record is any other value(say 0.01), p_out_count returned from the procedure is 10140.
Please help me understand why the Table(Cast()) is not returning the correct results in Scenario 1. Also adding or deleting any record from the test data returns the correct results (i.e. if keep target_pct in the last record as 0 but add or delete any record).
Let me know how can I attach the test data I am using to help you debugging as I don’t see any Attach file button on Post Message screen on the forum.

I am not able to reproduce this problem with a small data set. I can only reproduce with the data having 10140 records.
I am not sure if this is the memory issue as adding a new record also solves the problem.
This should not be the error because of wrong way of filling the records in java as for testing purpose I just saved the records which I am sending from java in a table. I updated the stored procedure as well to read the data from the table and then perform TABLE(CAST()) operation. I am still getting 0 as the output for scenario 1 mentioned in my last mail.

Function used in SQL query not showing the desired results

You could rewrite the function to be a pipelined table function and then do
select count(*)
from baseclient.address_detail
where cidn in (SELECT cidn
FROM TABLE(<<your pipelined table function>>))
However, I would expect it to be easier not to wrap all this into a function and just have your IN clause be the logic in your predicate_cidn cursor.

Im facing a issue while posting the payroll results to the accounts in T.code PC00_M99_CIPE,
The error log says...
Inconsistence in payroll results (tables V0/RT)
Diagnosis:
An inconsistency results has been found during the evaluation of the payroll results. No referenced entry has been found in table V0.
Can anybody suggest me wat i hav to do...

Check whether the user is having the authorisation for the t.code PC_PAYRESULT or PC00_M40-PAYRESULT.
Because some times HR user will run the payroll and FI user will do the postings. If FI user is doing the postings, in general he will not have the authorisation for HR T.codes, then system will give such kind of errors.
If not check the paryoll results and control record.

what is the result of using the "post tax payable" option in the advance tax report - program rfumsv00? I know it will then post the input and output tax to the tax payable GL account. But from point of view of reporting, when you run the advance tax report, will there be any change after doing this posting to tax payable account?

I have used Image Capture to scan images/documents and then saved them as either PDFs or PNG files. For some reason, just this past week Image Capture will no longer save the file. It scans, and the Scan Results window pops up, but it won't save file.

The file name has no special character in it, just letters and no spaces.
I have done this in the past and it has worked, but now it will not.
I have not upgraded any software, that I am aware of.
After scanning, the Image Capture pops up the Scan Results with the file name in the window, but neither the Scan Results nor the Image Capture window responds to inputs. The Image Capture window is frozen, with only the "Overview" and "Cancel" buttons active (but non-responsive).
Is this a software issue or a scanner hardware issue? I am using a HP Photosmart C6200 series printer/scanner on a network using a Time Capsule airport.

I had the same problem.
Got a 90% fix. Apparently the Mavericks preferences won't work with Yosemite, so I just deleted the Image Capture preferences.
Unfortunately, the "Scan to" folder seems to be permanently set to the Pictures folder.
1. Quit Image Capture
2. Go to Finder > Go > Home, which opens up your home folder (named after your user name)
3. Open Library > Preferences > com.apple.ImageCapture.plist - Drag this file to the Trash
4. Start "Image Capture", click "Details" and change all your settings as you prefer
5. Quit and restart "Image Capture". Notice it remembers all your settings except "Scan to" folder. It insists on saving to "Pictures".
That's as far as I was successful. I tried changing the "Scan to" folder to "Desktop", but on launch, Image Capture always sets it back to "Pictures".
This is what I tried:
6. Download and install "Pref Setter" from http://www.nightproductions.net/prefsetter.html
7. Quit "Image Capture". Right-click on "com.apple.ImageCapture.plist" and open with Pref Setter.
8. Search for "Pictures", which finds "~/Pictures" (the tilde character at the start means your home directory).
9. Double-click on "~/Pictures" and change it to the folder you prefer. I like "~/Desktop"
10. Choose File > Save then Quit from Pref Setter. Note that re-opening the plist file still shows "~/Desktop"
11. Start up "Image Capture" -- on startup, "Image Capture" sets "Scan to" folder to "Pictures"
I consider this a bug.

How to capture the values that are being passed to a function module?

Hello Experts!
While executing the transaction SBWP to send a document the FM 'SO_DYNP_SHORT_MESSAGE' gets triggered as soon as the SEND button is pressed would anybody please let me know how i can capture the values that are being passed to it in the process of sending a document?

well, I'm not asking you to explain about how an implicit enhancement can be done. i was just referring to the two options posted in the reply. Is there any other way out apart from the implicit enhancement option. i do find class CL_BS useful as the Method ADD_RECIPIENT gets triggered . even though there's no attachment option in the screen that pops up after the method ADD_RECIPIENT is triggered. would anybody suggest me as how to proceed further to capture the values though without attachment details
