Capyt MPEG edit for everio on Os 10.7

Hi there
I have just instaled Lion and now my JVC everio camcorder software does not work so I need an upto date software to convert the MOD files, that only JVC use to a quick time file to use in After Effects. Does anyone know what software I can get for my camira to work or am I stufed?

I don't have a Appleworks file readily available, but IIRC, you should just be able to double-click the .CWK file.
Otherwise, run Pages. From File menu, click Open.

Premiere Pro to MPEG-2 for DVD Interlace Problems

I hope somebody can give me advise on this.
I have created many SD DVD's from various edits but I'm struggling with this current problem.
I have an edit in Premiere Pro CC on a progressive HD timeline with H264 footage shot on a Canon 5D.
I also have a front and end animated logo where I have put some a spinning motion on the logo using basic 3D etc.
I need to create an SD DVD, so I export MPEG-2 for DVD with the setting to progressive.
The MPEG-2 that is created to make the DVD is fine with all the footage but it is interlaced on the moving logo.
I have tried moving to an interlaced timelime but it makes no difference.
I have tried upper and lower fields on the logo sequence.
I have tried exporting the MPEG-2 upper and lower and nothing seems to make difference.
The interlacing on the moving logo is also there when you burn the DVD. It is there when you playback though DVD player on the mac and also the same on a plasma TV using a normal home DVD player.
The only place the spinning logo looks normal is on the Premiere Pro timeline or when you export to MPEG4 or Quicktime, it only seems to be a problem with the MPEG-2 export for DVD.
I could really appreciate some advice on this as I need to burn a load of DVD's for distribution.

Export to a lossless codec and import that into Premiere.

Handbrake won't convert AVI files, But there are many more than those mentioned that will
The choice of conversion software is a personal choice, I have around a dozen applications that will tackle AVI's, however VisualHub is not one of them, not because there is anything wrong with it but rather I have enough such applications in my arsenal already.
I would use mpegstreamclip in most scenarios for what you are wanting to do but maybe not always. It is a good idea to have a few applications to choose from as not all do the same thing. mpegstreamclip has a few more options than some bog standard applications without becoming overburdening with choices.
You might want to try a few applications yourself before deciding on the software for you. isquint is a free limited version of visualhub, you might want to give that a whirl to get a feeling for visualhub.
Be aware though that quality conversions do not happen quickly, claims of being faster than other applications may well be correct, but are usually a trade off against quality. Again you need to choose your software to reflect your preferred balance between speed and quality.
Here's how I use mpegstreamclip, http://web.me.com/gartside1104/z008/Mpegstreamclip.html but your AVI's may well be low quality, you shouldn't set the bitrate any higher than your source file and likely lower, you shouldn't increase the frame size either.

Anyone Using Capty MPEG EDIT EX?

Ok, apologies for putting this post here. I did a search and this Capty editor did get mentioned in this particular forum previously which is why I put it here. It was either that or under DSP.
I have the Japanese version of Capty MPEG Edit. And it works pretty well, however it only accepts "MPEG Program Stream", which have a suffix of ".mpg". Any other type of MPEG2 file, such as "mpeg", just gets rejected.
eg; using EyeTV** I record a program and export it as an "MPEG Program Stream". Capty MPEG EDIT is quiet happy with this file and I can edit it as much as I like. However if I open the same EyeTV file in MPEG Streamclip and export it as "MPEG" or "MPEG With MP2 Audio" Capty MPEG EDIT won't recognize it as a file it can use. I tried changing suffix from "mpeg" to "mpg" and Capty started to load the file, but then rejected it.
So is Capty MPEG EDIT EX just as temperamental, or will it accept most forms of MPEG2? Or is it just an English version of the Japanese product? From what I've seen of the screen grabs it looks to be the same thing.

I would describe it as "extremely limited."

* Number of audio channels that can be handled are 2 channels (stereo/dual mono).
* Handles 48KHz of audio sampling rate.Converts audio sampling rate of files other than 48KHz to 48KHz.
* MPEG-2 with audio sample size other than 16-bit is not supported.
* Handles video bitrate of 2Mbps to 9.8Mbps. Note that when audio format is PCM, maximum bitrate is 8Mbps.
* If video bitrate exceeds 8Mbps, you cannot select PCM as audio format.
* Does not support files with multiple audio streams.
* Handles up to 18 frames in a GOP for NTSC and 15 frames in a GOP for PAL.
* Handles system bitrate up to 10.08Mbps. Even if system bitrate is lower than 10.08Mbps, video bitrate higher than 9.8Mbps cannot be handled.
* System bitrate is the total bitrate size comprising audio bitrate of MPEG-2 format files and video. Video bitrate varies according to audio bitrate.
(e.g.) When the system bitrate of MPEG-2 format file is 8Mbps, the result is as follows:
When the audio bitrate is 224Kbps, video bitrate will be approximately 7.2Mbps.
When the audio bitrate is 384Kbps, video bitrate will be approximately 6.9Mbp

We are trying to use Oracle8 Enterprise Edition for Windows 8.0.6 for some specific reason.
Some general doubts regarding the installation.
1.     Is any installation specific to the OS language (English/Japanese) ?

You are asking to have someone provide you with a piece of software that was very full of bugs and made obsolete before year 2000. Oracle will probably not be very happy to do that.
Besides, Oracle is so upward compatible that - unless you depend on the bugs - you should be able to use any currently supported version. Such as Oracle9i or Oracle10g.

Can't download Oracle 8.1.7 Enterprise Edition for Solaris 32 bit??

I can't download Oracle 8.1.7 Enterprise Edition for Solaris 32 bit. After filling out the form with the questions...I click on the actual link, but the box never pops up. The status bar on my Internet Explorer slowly increases, but never allows me to download. It just hangs. I have tried multiple times, and I can download other verions from your site...and have many times in the past. Could you please fix this. Thanks.

You can test your TREX server by executing the following step:
Log on to your TREX server and open up the TREX console which you can find in the TREX program folder. Normally you are now inside the python_support folder.
Execute the following script by typing: "python runInstallationText.py" and hit Enter.
The script carries out the following tests:
● Deleting any test indexes that were generated for a previous script run
● Creating a test index
● Indexing documents
● Testing search functions
● Exact, error-tolerant (fuzzy), and linguistic searches
● Search using Boolean operators such as AND and OR
The results are displayed at the end of the script run. You see the tested calls and their statuses (OK or Failed).
When you run the script for the first time, the call Delete Index has the status Failed. This is because there was no existing text index to be deleted. If this is the only cell with the status Failed, the test was successful.
Below you will see the final output generated by the test script. As stated near the bottom of this screenshot our TREX is running very well or not if there is a problem.

How can I download and re-install Photoshop CS5 Extended Student and Teacher Edition (for Mac) for which I have a licence? I lost the previous version in a disk crash. I tried downloading the full Photoshop CS5 installer, but I was told I couldn't run the installer because I didn't have permission.

Alternative to a Named Sets in Microsoft Cube for Analysis Edition for OLAP

SAP has told me via there support system that they do not support Named Sets in Microsoft Analysis cubes and I need to be able to create specific time parameters to ease reporting requirements. We are migrating off ProClarity and onto Analysis Edition for OLAP and need to be able to create these specific time dimensions. I don't want to use custom groups as this would be hardcoding the values for the dates. Is there any alternative to have these dates available in the Analysis application? Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Please note that the Business Layer on the Webi side supports named sets and I have already implemented this for scheduled reports. Below is the MDX Name Set query for the Previous month based on our time dimension.
