Car audio. amp for replacement door speakers??

im buying replacement 6x9 3 way speakers for my jeep and my main question is do i need an amp for the speakers??
Speakers are: http://www.bestbuy.com/site/Pioneer+-+6%22+x+9%22+3-Way+Car+Speakers+with+Carbon+Graphic+IMPP+Cones+...
Head Unit is: http://www.bestbuy.com/site/JVC+-+50W+x+4+MOSFET+Apple%26%23174%3B+iPod%26%23174%3B-Ready+In-Dash+CD...
HELP ME??

im going to assume that you have a grand cherokee or something along those lines.  you will only get lows and a little bit of mids from the 6x9's in the doors and your highs will be from the tweeters on the top dash. you can either take the route of buying 6 1/2 adapter plates for the 6X9 slot and go with component speakers.  Or you can buy 6x9's for the doors and you will  need to replace the top dash speakers with tweeters.  either way you will pay around the same price.
as far as the deck that is a great deck, im not a jvc fan, but many are and i do alot of installs on jvc's.  let me know if i can help further.  good luck!

  • Need Laptop Audio Amplifier for USB Connected Speakers

For a laptop, does Creative have any kind of audio amplifier for USB connected speakers?
I think the laptop has what is called an Express 54 slot.
I am looking for amplification suitable for speakers, not headphones.

If their only connection to the laptop is via USB than you can't amp them without doing some internal modifications. It means the speakers have their own audio device internally which is receiving signal via the USB port, processing it and then outputting it via likely a weak amp stage to the speakers - you'd have to physically intercept that last part of the chain to add an amplifier.
Not saying it can't be done but you're looking at either harvesting an existing amp (which Creative don't seem to sell) or creating one from scratch (like the Penguin Mint amp, Objective 2, etc) for the purpose.

    Please advise.

I know there are a few manufacturers that make an adapter that connects where a factory 6 disk would connect and i heard they usually charge like $45 for it.im sure you can google to see if there is one made for your car.

  • Peripheral car audio and click wheel issues w/ Classic

Anyone else out there have a Peripheral Car Audio Interface for their car stereo? I got mine in Dec of '05 and had no problems with it. I get a new Ipod Classic and when I plug it up to the stereo the click wheel becomes nearly useless. It still plays but it's a bear getting to a song. When I unplug it from the stereo the Click wheel works fine. Help!

I'm actually using the BlitzSafe VW/M-LINK1 V.5 in my 03 Jetta. I'm a simple Ipod solution for my car keeping control on the Ipod itself and not my head unit (I'd rather it that way). I'm having the same issue with my 80gb classic. When I plug the Ipod into the interface, the touch wheel itself becomes useless, although I can still control the Ipod with the Menu, forward, back, etc. buttons. As soon as I unplug the Ipod from the interface, my click wheel goes back to normal.
One thing I also noticed is that when the Ipod is plugged in, I can see the wheel actually being used although I'm not touching it. By this I mean you can actually see the volume going up and down or the highlight bar actually moving up and down. You can also hear the Ipod clicking away.
I've talked to Blitzsafe and they told me my Ipod is faulty and to get it looked at. I've tried both a 5th Gen Video and Nano and they both worked perfectly. After reading this thread I'm sure my Ipod isn't the problem although I'd like to try another Classic just to make sure.

  • Bad car audio with 60g video

I know this has probably been covered, but I'm using a 60G video ipod with a $50 "Monster Cable" lighter plug. The old click wheel sounded great with this adapter, but this thing is all static. I'm getting the impression from browsing through the discussions that audio is a serious issue with this device, and I'm regretting the purchase. Any tips other than visiting our local car audio joint for major sugery?
    Thanks

well do u mean when listening it gives static while charging? but yes this has been a problem cable. might i reccomend this? http://www.harmankardon.com/drive-1/default.aspx

  • IOS 4.2 Still NO Fix for USB Car Audio (AVN726E)

With the Release of iOS 4.2.1; I rushed to update hoping that it would fix my USB to Car Audio, but it doesnt, what exactly is Apple trying to accomplish by removing functionality..
I own an Eclipse AVN726E which I've come to learn is also the system that Toyota/Lexus uses in some of their vehicles..
Granted I can play audio through the Bluetooth Audio selection but then the devices doesnt charge..
I plug in my iPhone 4 and it just hangs on "Reading..."
Does anyone have any ideas or anything that I can try to make this work..
Or is this all in the hands of Apple..

I've got a Kenwood KDC-MP345U and had the "Reading" hang problem after doing the 4.2.1 update. This worked for me...
I simply did a full restore using the Restore button in iTunes. It will ask you if you want to back up your phone first -- cancel out and do it! Then hit the Restore button again. This will restore the iPhone to factory settings. The phone then will update itself to the latest operating system (4.2.1). Finally, restore your own settings from your last backup. When I plugged in the phone into the MP3U, I got the "Reading" message for about 2 seconds and then everything went back to normal. Also, all my settings on the phone are exactly as before -- don't skip the backup immediately before the Restore.
    Hope this helps someone else...

  • Ios8 Bluetooth audio out for car/headset

I have connected my iphone to my car via bluetooth, I can make phone call via my car speaker&mic but How can I set up  Bluetooth audio out for car/headset?

I have this and also a car charger adaptor for it, but it doesn't work because Apple changed the volts on the charger.

  • My Ipad 2 external speakers does not work and headphones has popping sound. This all occured at the same time as my Iphone and Ipod headphones only played mono (no, the "mono" option is not on). How can there be audio issue for all these devices?

My IPad 2 external speaker does not work and the original headphones have popping sound when used. This all occurred at the same time as my IPhone and IPod headphones only plays mono (and no, the "mono" option is not on) with the original headphones, as well as, other headphones tested.  How can there be audio issue for all these devices at the same time?
As you may have noted from the list of Apple devices I own, I believed in the Apple and the products it was producing; but it is hard to believe from my experience and the other voices within the Apple Community that we are all experiencing the same hardware issues. Especially since I recently, I upgraded to an IPhone 4g (no, my faith in IPhone 5 series is very little) and is experiencing the same audio problem as described above. So now, I am off to the Apple store again to be told that it’s a hardware problem on new IPhone. Really? Apple, what happen to the pride in the product you were producing?

Everyone does things a little differently. I love to "jam " along with iTunes ( or old Lp's) . Always have. That's where/how I've learned to play .
I'm sure leonieDF is giving a proper way to jam along on a keyboard with an iTune. He blows my mind all the time with what he knows. Nuff respects to him !
What I do is make a GB project I call "Jam With". I'll make several new tracks that are blank. Just has a few instruments named in the blank tracks. You can change those per song ...
Because I'm not concerned about changing the pitch / key.... of the iTune or the tempo ... I can simply play along with it.

  • How to burn on CD from iTunes for car-audio?

    Hi!
    I am a iMac&iPhone user.
I am trying to listen my music on itunes in my car.
I tried to burn CD many times,
But car audio doesn't recognise the file and I can't listen.
It seems that MP3 file is working.
    But m4a is not worlking.
    How can I do?
I DO aprreciate it if you will help me!!
    MUSIC

    Hi bonkuro,
If your car stereo can play the MP3 files on a burned CD but not the m4a files, it may be that the stereo is only configured to recognize MP3's, which is not uncommon. You may need to convert your files in iTunes to MP3's before burning them:

  • Replacement Deck/Speakers

Alright Im wondering what I can get for a 2000 jeep grand Cherokee for around 250-300 dollars. I'd like to get a replacement
speaker for each door, a deck, and if the budget allows an amp! Got any ideas for good quality product where I can get crisp
audio and some bass to go with it?

in all reality you woudln't be looking at the amp on that budget.  let me rephrase, you wouldn't be looking at an amp that will last you long.  As far as just a deck and speakers you will be right around 250-300 for the quality that you are looking for.  most decks with 2 preouts that will allow you to add on subwoofers the right way down the road will be around 100-150 base. and most speakers with quality will run you around 99-150 per pair.
You might want to save a little more money up if you are looking for great sound, but again other people have different listening needs and everyones ears are different.
also are you looking at doing the install yourself? if you are aren't there is not a chance that you will be in that budget.  sorry about being so blunt.  good luck!

    4 channel amp
Deck for the rear 2 speakers (unless you want them amplifed further)
Mono channel amplifier for the subwoofer
the deck will be your own thing to look at just make sure you find one that has BT "built in" not "ready" all BT models will have a front or back usb so you are good there.  alpine still makes solid units.  make sure your head-unit has 3 preouts for yourself, and you will lose a fader and balance if you are splitting any kind of signal.  good luck

  • 3 Questions to Consider When Purchasing Car Audio

If you’re looking to enhance the listening experience in your vehicle, you may want to consider upgrading your car audio components. There are many different options to do this, from a new radio to an entire sound system to provide you with unmatched acoustics and heart pounding bass. With all the choices you have, I know that upgrading your car audio equipment can seem like a daunting task, especially if you don’t know where to start. To help get you started, I’ve provided my top 3 questions to consider when looking into upgrading your vehicle's sound system.
Do You Need a Complete New System or Just a Few Upgrades?
It can be easy to get carried away when it comes to purchasing car audio equipment, especially with all of the choices and configurations out there. The costs can add up quickly if you’re looking to upgrade the entire sound system, but there are also many cost effective ways to improve your car audio performance.
You could start by just upgrading your car stereo. Buying a new car stereo will not only improve the appearance of your vehicle, but it may also provide you with better sound quality, as well as more features, all without breaking the bank. If you’re looking to just add MP3 playback capabilities but don’t want to upgrade to a brand new radio, you may consider an FM transmitter. This will allow you transmit your music through your car speakers while still using your existing car stereo.
What Will Fit In Your Car?
You will want to ensure that any car audio components you purchase fit in the same location as the stock components.
Car audio speakers come in a variety of sizes to accommodate different manufacturer specifications. Traditional speaker sizes are usually 6-1/2", 6" x 9", and 5-1/4", with many sizes in-between. These sizes refer to the diameter of the speaker, but you’ll also want to consider the speaker depth to make sure it will fit within the door panel or rear deck lid behind the seats.
If you're looking to add a subwoofer, it is highly recommended that a quality subwoofer enclosure be used. Traditionally, subwoofer enclosures can be placed in trunks or under seats if using in a pick-up truck. You’ll want to ensure you have enough room to place the enclosure according to how you want it to look. You can also purchase subwoofers that come already loaded in an enclosure.
For a new car stereo, you'll find that these usually come in two sizes; DIN (image top), and Double DIN (image bottom). DIN units are traditionally 7” wide, and 2” tall. Double DIN units are generally one single unit that is the same size or near the same size of two DIN units stacked together. Double DIN units often have a larger screen, and more features such as DVD enabled (Only when the vehicle is stopped and in Park) and GPS navigation. In addition to the car stereo, you will most likely need a Dash Installation Kit to ensure the car stereo fits properly in your vehicle.
What Kind of Sound Do You Want?
Deciding how you want your car audio to sound is crucial when it comes to choosing car audio components, especially if you’re purchasing any kind of speakers.
You'll want to consider the type of music you listen to when purchasing your upgraded car speakers, as different genres carry many different tones. By adding new speakers, you’ll hear cleaner bass and more clarity then you would’ve before with stock speakers. In addition to upgraded speakers, you may consider adding an amplifier. An amplifier will provide your system with enough juice to provide it with plenty of clean power. Using a 4 channel amplifier in conjunction with upgraded speakers will allow you to hear your music like never before.
If you enjoy the hit of loud, clean bass, you may consider adding a subwoofer to your car audio system. A subwoofer and a suitable mono amplifier will give you cleaner, sometimes heart-pounding bass. In addition to clean bass, you’ll hear the mid/low tones like you’ve never heard them before.
Now that you’ve added more power to your existing system, you want a way to contain that power. Sound deadening materials such as the Dynamat Xtreme Trunk Kit and Dynamat Xtreme Door Dampening Sheets help eliminate vibrations and rattles, while containing your audio inside of the vehicle. In addition to keeping your audio inside of the vehicle, it will help to keep road noise out of the vehicle for distortion free audio.
Upgrading your cars audio system can seem overwhelming, but with the right selections and proper research, it can make a world of difference to the listening experience you enjoy in your vehicle. Feel free to check out our vast selection of car audio equipment here. We’ve also got plenty of Blue Shirts and Geek Squad Autotech installers to help you pick out and install the perfect car audio system.

I've found some answers to my own questions....so will post them in case anyone else is having the same problems. I've found different web browsers will open the same media file in different ways....safari opens a video clip by opening up a new fullsize webpage window and having the videoclip (of whatever size) "embedded" within it whereas explorer will open up a seperate QT window just the size of the videoclip. The reason that I was having no audio on QT clips played within Safari or downloaded to my desktop (as well as no audio with the WMPlayer for Macs) is because some audio applications may change your computers audio settings to a sample rate that is to high for other applications to use. The solution is to change your audio output setting to 44100.0 Hz within the "Midi Setup".See an earlier post in this forum by Eric Urisoy called "Audio Not Working" for details.

  • Displays track 0/5303 (or there abouts) when plugged in to car audio

    Hi All,
New to this discussion board as I've never had any issues with my iphone except this one which randomly I managed to fix last time it occurred.
Here's a summary and any suggestions/input would be most appreciated. My car has support for the iphone built in to the audio system and kindly come provided with the cable, sure enough connect it up and it plays track 1 of however many there are and I can cycle through artist/genre/album etc. A little while back after adding some more music it displayed track 0 of something like 5303 and having no idea what I did on itunes a couple of days later it miraculously worked. Needless to say it's happened again.
I can play music on the phone but it doesn't work in my car, its not a fault with the car as my friends iphone works fine and he has like 8gb more music than me! So nothing to do with a capacity problem. Sorry a little long winded in the end but would appreciate any suggestions.
One last thing is, if I pick a track and plug it in it'll play on the speakers but you cant do anything with it other than adjust the volume so its kind of then like just have an audio cable rather than the full usb support.
    Kevin

    Any suggestions?

  • Audio Out hissing interference from speakers when connecting VGA/DVI lead

    Hi
If I connect my mac air to an amp with speakers via an audio out lead then I get great sound. As soon as I additionaly connect the Mac Air to my LCD TV via the VGA or DVI cables I get this annoying hissing sound that gets louder if I turn the volume up.
I have swapped my audio lead for another but still the same problem.
I used to use the same audio/video leads with an old laptop and had no problems. I assume that the issue is due to the fact that the audio and video connector on the Mac Air are very close to eachother.
Has anyone else had a similer issue or can suggest any alternatives or resolutions? Many thanks.

Thanks for the pointer. Unfortunately it didn't work for me either. I guessed from your original post and got the Monster® iCableLink™ Headphone Adapter for iPhone™ cable. It appears to be a 3.5mm to 3.5mm adapter, which seems odd.
However it doesn't stop the buzzing. What I found did help a bit was to turn the volume on the mac all the way to the top and adjust the volume on the amp to listening volume. That kept the buzzing fairly tame at normal listening volumes.
Any other suggestions would be great.
