Car Bluetooth no longer works iOS 8.3

Since the latest software update and Siri now automatically sending "Hey Siri" calls through the handset speaker...I can no longer safely use the internal Bluetooth system.  I have to wait for the call to connect, then take my hand off the wheel and look at the iPhone to tap "Car Multi Media" to get the call through my internal car speakers!  Dangerous and a lawsuit waiting to happen!!!!

Oh man, thanks for posting this as I was going nuts. Same, when I say, "Hey Siri, Call ...." it say's calling through the iPhone Speaker even though I'm connected to Bluetooth.
EXTREMELY DANGEROUS because I then have to switch over to Mazda (in my case) for Bluetooth.
This is definitely and 8.3 bug as it worked fine in 8.1 (I passed 8.2).
Please fix.

  • IOS7 Bluetooth No Longer Works in 2013 Nissan Altima

I am experiencing issues with my 2013 Nissan Altima 3.5SL and the IOS 7upgrade on my iphone5. I am no longer able to properly sync my phone to the bluetooth in the car.  The music doesn't always play with bluetooth connection, voice recognition hardly works to make calls and the feature to read incoming new text messages via car bluetooth no longer works AT ALL!  All of these features worked fine with the previous IOS6 version.
I have tried several ways to try to fix this, complete reboot of iphone, delete and re connect the iphone from bluetooth (forget this device); also the 'show notifications' tab under the bluetooth options on the phone is turned on.  Nothing has helped.
This is extremely disappointing and would like to use these features of my car again. Has anyone else experienced these issues and/or found a fix?
Apple, please FIX and provide us with an update!

Problems with Bluetooth connections are generally traced back to the vehicle. If you search here in the forum you will find a number of posts with issues connecting with Honda vehicles. Try removing the phone from the vehicle's list of Bluetooth devices. Then try removing the vehicle from the iPhone's list of Bluetooth devices. Then place both devices back in discovery/pairing mode and try to connect them. You may need to take the device to the dealer to check for software updates.
Next, I understand it used to connect, however software updates for the iPhone will load the latest Bluetooth stack into the phone and vehicles do not always get updated as often. Is it possible to recover my data from iCloud backup without working wifi? I have as many other upgraded my iPhone 4S to iOS 7.0.2 with the result that the Wi-Fi or Bluetooth no longer works. However, i can connect to iTunes via cable but there is wrong version of backup.

    Answer is no.
If you want the iCloud backup you have to have n internet connection, thus WiFi.
The not working WiFi has happened with quite a number of users.
It is not exactly clear what is the cause but there are suggestions to clear it up:
Some people have had success by removing an apostrophe from the iPhone name. If your iPhone is called something like “John’s iPhone” then this might work. Go to Settings > General > About > Name and change it to something with no apostrophe.
Some people have reported success by putting the iPhone into Airplane mode and then going to Settings > General > Reset > Reset Network Settings, but the problem may return.
You could also try going to Settings > Control Center and disable Access on Lock Screen then turn your iPhone off and on again.
Make sure that your router firmware is up to date.
Try backing up your iPhone and then restoring it. Check how to factory reset an iPhone for details.
If nothing is working for you, try contacting Apple or take your iPhone into an Apple Store.
    Succes, Lex

  • Bluetooth no longer works for incoming calls after recent update

When I updated my Bluetooth to iOS 6, the Bluetooth no longer works for incoming calls. I press button to answer call, it makes a small cracking noise, and then sends the call to my phone. I can use the Bluetooth for outgoing calls and it works just fine. I was hoping when I updated to iOS 6.0.1 that the problem would be fixed. I have uninstalled and reinstalled Bluetooth but that has not helped either. I am frustrated. I have a LG HBM-905 Bluetooth that I loved prior to this problem.

Magically started working today after I synced.

Maybe it's because of Mfi approving (https://developer.apple.com/programs/mfi/)
I have Sony bt GPS but can't use it with my wifi iPad because it's not approved.

  • Keyboard shortcuts no longer work iOS 8.3. Triple tap Home button on Bluetooth keyboard no longer works either. Help!

Since updating my iPad Third Generation ("New iPad") to iOS 8.3, Keyboard Shortcuts no longer work. Also on my Logitech EasySwitch Bluetooth Keyboard, triple tapping the home button on it no longer works to trigger Accessibility, even though that is still set up for triple tap in Settings and continues to work on the iPad itself. How can I get these functions back? Wah!

TEmporary solution at iOS 8.3 keyboard shortcuts. Old bug reappeared.

  • Gingerbread update - Bluetooth no longer working in car

I have seen people complaining about this issue on other forums - lots of phone models and car models are affected.  My bluetooth was wworking perfectly for hands-free calling prior to the Gingerbread update.  Bluetooth stopped working the day I received my Gingerbread update last week.  I've tried everything I can try.  Apparently there is no resolution to the issue yet.  Verizon tech support could not help - they told me to contact HTC.  HTC tech support had no clue.  I want to revert back to Froyo, but apparently that's not possible either.  I am VERY frustrated.  I loved Android, but bluetooth in my car is a very important feature for me.  Might be time for an iPhone...
If anyone has any solutions for this issue, please let me know.  By the way, I have read in other forums that a factory reset does not work - it keeps the same phone software.  It's something that changed in Gingerbread that is causing the problem.  I would love to get rid of Gingerbread.

    Smitty,
I don't have Gingerbread (yet, and I'm thinking that's a good thing at this point), but I've had the same problem with my DInc before with my 7 week old new car.  After an initial successful link-up and upload of my phone book, my phone wouldn't maintain a connection either.
Here's my suggestion for you, because It's my current work around to get my bluetooth connection to work:
    1) Unpair your car bluetooth and your phone so you can start from scratch
    2) Re-pair your DInc and your car
    3) When your phone connects to your car, you'll hopefully get a pop-up dialogue box on your phone asking to link to your phone book.  At this point, say no to the phone book link.  You *should* hopefully have a good bluetooth connection now, and you'll still have the ability to dial from your phone book.  If you don't get the pop-up, well...I'm out of ideas.  Sorry.
I don't know what capability that pop-up dialogue box on the phone supports, but it sure screws up my bluetooth connection in my car.

  • Bluetooth no longer works between iPhone 5 running iOS8 and my 2012 Buick LaCrosse

Since I uploaded the new iOS 8 on my iPhone 5 the Bluetooth connection is no longer working correctly in my 2012 Buick LaCrosse.   The phone pairs (illuminating the Bluetooth icon in the car stereo display) however then it doesn't work.  I cannot receive calls or can't make calls.     The iPhone display shows "Calling" and the number shows, but nothing happens.
I tried the suggestion from ChrisJ4203 below, however it did not work for me.
“Go into the phone and remove the vehicle from the Bluetooth list. Turn Bluetooth off, and do a reset on the phone. Hold the sleep/wake and home buttons together until you see the Apple logo and then release. The phone will reboot. Then go into the vehicle and remove the iPhone from the list of paired devices. Turn the vehicle off and then back on again. Place the vehicle's system into discovery/pairing mode. Go into Settings on the phone and turn Bluetooth on. The devices should see each other.”
Any other ideas?   My iPhone worked fine from Jan 2012 to now in this same car.

We have a 2011 Buick Enclave and the Pairing worked.  I did have to hold the phone button, say Bluetooth, Say Delete, Say the specific device to Delete ...The Pair, I think enter the code (which changes each time you Pair) and then Name the New paired Device.  To test it, I typically have to turn the vehicle off, leave the vehicle and walk far enough away to make sure the phone is not paired.  While away, tune the phone totally off.  Turn the phone back on, enter and turn key far enough to have the electrical systems come on, and then push the phone button in the car.  Good Luck.

  • XPlod car adapter no longer works after installing OS 4.0

I have a Sony car stereo with the Xplod adapter that allows me to hook up my iPod to my stereo and control it from there. After the recent update to OS 4.0 this no longer works.
Now when I plug it in; the iPod stops playing sound through it's speaker, but I get no control through the Stereo and nothing plays. It just seems to freeze.
This has worked perfectly for 2years, and now it's dead. Anyone have any suggestions or fixes?

I had this same issue after upgrading to iOS 4.0. I could play my iPod touch to the xPLOD through the USB cable but could not control it with the xPLOD, and there were a few other issues too.
I tried the recommendation to power off the iPod Touch, then connect it to the xPLOD.
I pressed the top and home buttons until "slide to power off" appeared, which I did.
I connected the iPod Touch to the xPLOD and set the xPLOD source to USB.
The iPod started to wake up. The xPLOD timed out with a "No device found" message while the iPod was waking up.
When the iPod woke up, the xPLOD detected it and displayed "Reading device", then, everything worked fine.
    YMMV...

  • Bluetooth No Longer Working With Headset

I have a Motorola bluetooth headset that I've used with my ibook before without a hitch, but when I screwed up OS X and reinstalled it (note: reinstalled the operating system, but didn't format) it no longer works with the headset. I can connect to it just fine, but if I try to use it for anything such as switch my audio output to the headset, the program will freeze - same applies to using the headset for input. The headset isn't broken as it works fine with my phone, but my ibook won't cooperate and they are paired correctly. Is their someway to reinstall the bluetooth drivers or something to that extent? Thanks

If you have a headset, why use Raise to speak? Kinda defeats the purpose of the headset.
Press and hold the button on your headest to call up Siri.

  • Bluetooth no longer works with Toyota

After the 2.01 upgrade, the bluetooth connection with my Toyota Sequoia no longer works. It will pair but will not be recognized.

Actually, I'll bet you can get it to link-up, but indeed, since V 2.0.1 mine doesn't automatically link anymore, the key word being "automatically". I discovered that you can manually force it to be recognized in my 2007 Toyota Prius, but you have to re-enter the 4-digit pass code every time you start the engine. Try this: On your iPhone, go to Settings/General/Bluetooth, and un-pair your Toyota device (which the default is "Hands Free". Then, from the Toyota's main phone screen: Settings/Bluetooth/Register. Finally, enter the 4 digit code shown, into the iPhone, which by now should be looking for that code.
Again, this is just a one-time work-around, which unfortunately must be repeated every time, until someone figures out how to restore the automatic linking.

  • 10.5.6 BlueTooth no longer works on MBP.. Works in 10.5.5

After updating my MBP to 10.5.6 my bluetooth PS3 remote no longer works. When I booted off my external drive with 10.5.5 it was working again.
I have tried removing and adding the PS3 remote in the BT pref pane as well as using Remote Buddy.
I ended up archiving and installing 10.5.0 and downloading the Combo updater for 10.5.6, but this did not fix anything. I need to see if I can install 10.5.5 again. I could not install the 10.5.5 updater, so I guess I need to find a 10.5.5 combo updater.
I sent a report to Remote Buddy author.
Is there a specific place I can report the bug directly to Apple?
Any ideas on how to fix this would be great.

  • IOS7 on iPhone 5 - bluetooth no longer works

Since updating my iPhone 5 to iOS7 I cannot see any other devices using Bluetooth and devices using Bluetooth can't see my phone. I have tried every potential fix I can find on the web, from removing an apostrophe from my user name through to doing a complete restore of my phone. Nothing has made any difference. My partner's iPhone5 (slightly newer than mine) doesn't have the problem. The devices that I can't see and that can't see my iPhone include my iPad, 1 MacAir, 2 Mac desktops and 1 car bluetooth system.

Thanks Chris and JC. My iPhones can't see any other devices at all but the only bluetooth device I actually care about right now -- my Sennheiser head phones -- I found the answer to on another thread. Despite the fact my MacBook could see the head phones just fine the answer to the iPhone problem was to hold the on button on the headphones down for 5 plus seconds. And magically they appeared in the list. That thread was hard to find too so maybe my reply will help someone else. Thanks again though, if I have any more BT problems I will know what to do.

  • Lenovo T60P BlueTooth No Longer Working

Bluetooth no longer shows up in device manager and when I hit Fn-F5 does not show up in list (used to show up).
I know this computer has bluetooth HW but device manager cannot find it.
I tried installing Enhanced BlueTooth latest SW but it indicates that it cannot find the HW.
Also, Vista does not show any Bluetooth in Control Panel.
I had to wipe the machine and install clean Vista a while back since then I cannot find BlueTooth.
How do I enable the HW?  How do I detect if the HW is defective?  Where do I get the BlueTooth drivers?

Could someone please respond to this post. I am having a similar problem with my bluetooth after installing the bluetooth software here:
    http://www-307.ibm.com/pc/support/site.wss/document.do?lndocid=MIGR-62928#bluetooth
I reformatted, and haven't been able to use bluetooth since.
    Thanks guys!
