Car cd player repair

this is gonna sound like a dumb question. just wondering what the average cost of fixing a car cd player would be. also if its even possible/worth it to fix it and what it would cost to just replace it. i know i havent given alot of details, just looking for a ballpark range for a pontiac g6 2006

Don't forget that , IF you decide to purchase a new head unit (cd player). You will probably have to buy a Factoy integration adapter/harness to retain certain functions of you car. example is door chimes and sounds, I've heard of people using cheap online harnesses , but do it properly and go with the device that best buy recommends. Those units range in price of 75 to 180 ball park number..Don't quote me .I'm just trying to help in anyway I can.
If you do have best buy do the work and install the new head unit "cd player" and correct interface unit., You won't regret ditching that factory delco radio.

There seems to be an uneasy and uncertain truce between burned optical media and its players. The two best actions are :
try a different brand of media, or use CD-R instead of CD-RW. I find the "R" versions more forgiving.
use a cleaning disk to muck out the car's player. Players in cars get filthy.

Google or search Amazon or eBay for iPod FM transmitter, should cost less than US$30.

Don't know about CD player, but this is about the cheapest/easiest way to play over car speakers.

Pioneer car cd player won't connect with my ipod. I continue to get "error 19". I've tried everything in the book and I can't get either my ipod touch(2nd gen) or my iphone 4 (both with the latest updates) to work. Pioneer unit model # is DEH-P8300UB

The iPod is designed to work with iTunes, you can't load songs onto it without either iTunes or some other iPod manager which you would still need to download. Without software on your computer to manage your iPod then it's pretty much useless, explain to your grandparents that the iPod will not work without iTunes. CD cannot play on car cd-player

I purchased some music from iTunes and burn them into a CD-R disk. The disk has no problem playing in my home cd player [ 2001 ] but it cannot play in my car cd player. The cd player comes with the car , Subaru Outback 1999. What's the problem ?

Thanks for your quick reply. It's Audio CD option and the disk is a Maxwell CD-RW. The cd player display shows 'TRACKING' and then eject the cd. I've been reading similar problem here and notice something about CD-R instead of CD-RW. I will give a try!

What video inputs does the car DVD player have? You can (depending upon the model iPod you have) purchase video-out connectors that have VGA, component and composite out. Some movies, depending upon the source, may have DRM protection that prevent using the VGA out.

Pantech P6020 Swift Car Music Player

I'm looking for a gift for my wife and I'd like to let her listen to music in the car. Right now she has a Pantech P6020 Swift phone that has bluetooth and can connect with USB.
Eventually she will be upgrading to an Iphone, so I'd like a car music player that can do pandora but right now just play music off the phone either through the bluetooth or USB.
Is there a music player that can do both?

Just to be clear, your wife currently uses her Pantech phone to stream music through the bluetooth in the car, but the Pantech phone can't play Pandora. You want to replace it with something that can do both. If that is correct, she will be all set when she gets the iPhone.
Pandora has an iPhone app, and the iPhone can connect and play over bluetooth in the car, so that takes care of both parts.

Where can I find a car charger/player with an old connection?

I have an i-pod nano 5th generation and until recently had a Belkin car charger/player that plugged into the cigarette lighter but it has broken. I want to source a new one but they all have the new size of connection. If I play it through the USB cable it constantly resets itself and starts shuffle at No. 1 again. Any ideas?

Did you burn it as an Audio CD or a Data CD? You may have a home CD player that can play data discs while the car player cannot...

Using my new G5 I have the same problem, which I did not know using my old G4 with an external LaCie burner. The CD-Changer in my car is not able to read audio-cds, also my cd-player in my home hifi-system. The only way to play these audio-cds is (strange...) to put them directly in the main tuner of my car (usually used for the navigation cd), not using the Changer.
Maybe the problem really depends on the quality of the CD-Rs. I have used CD-Rs from Sony (it´s a brand, I think?) and will try Verbatim.

I know there are a few manufacturers that make an adapter that connects where a factory 6 disk would connect and i heard they usually charge like $45 for it.im sure you can google to see if there is one made for your car.

Burned disk will not play on car cd player

A cd-rw disk, burned on my compaq presario as a simple cd audio disk, works on the computer and on some home systems i've tried, but will not work in the car cd player ( tried more than one car cd player )... what's the problem?

Burned CDs that won't play in my '97 Chrysler WILL play in my '02 Toyota. I agree with the response regarding the specs of the players being used.
