  • Is there a way to modify Incase Mini Car Charger so it will fit into iPhone 5s in a case?

I should have read the reviews in the Apple Store before buying the Incase Mini Car Charger before I bought it: the material around the lightning connector is much thicker than that in the Apple cable (which broke after not much use) and won't fit into the 5s with the case I have on the phone. Is there a way to "shave" the rubbery material to make this work?

dumdidadida: Thanks for your reply, but it doesn't address the problem. HSTS is designed to FORCE the use of https, this is a good thing in most cases. However, HSTS is problematic in that it incorrectly assumes that all users trust the default list of CAs and makes the adding of exceptions impossible even by advanced users.
torprojec.org is just an example, this effects every HSTS site. You can reproduce this problem yourself in version 17 or later if you temporary disable "DigiCert High Assurance EV Root CA" in your certificate store and then visit torproject.org. You will notice the ability to add exceptions has been removed and that the cert_override.txt file found in the user's profile is also ignored.

  • IPod mini only works with car charger!

My iPod mini only works when it is plugged into a car charger. It is 4 months old. It does not work (frozen - no response or display at all) on its own, or plugged into the AC charger, or the USB connection on the computer. I have tried the reset procedure several times and with different power connections with no results. The iPod seems perfectly fine when using a car charger otherwise nothing! Whats going on!!?!?!
    Anyone else with this problem??

    Try to reset it.
Press and hold the MENU and CENTER buttons - at the same time - until you see the Apple logo. This should take about 6 seconds. Also, you want to do this procedure while your iPod is connected to your computer. Ipods are supposed to work with USB port cable and AC Adapters, not only car chargers.
If this doesn't work, then try to update it using iPod Updater software. Open iPod Update, plug in your iPod to your computer and wait until the software recognizes it. Once it does, you should be able to click on the "Update" button. If you can't, click "Restore"

  • Can I use my standard car charger i got for iphone 4 with iPhone 5? if I just plug in the usb to lightning cable or will it damage the new iphone?

The charger takes a usb cable, so I figure I could just plug in my usb to lightning cable and charge using my Saitek charger.  Does anyone know if this works?

Did you get this to work?  Mine did not work when I plugged it into my at&t iphone car charger usb port.

  • IPod Car Charger - not charging

I have a car charger made by Alpine that when plugged into my 5th gen iPod would connect it to my radio allowing me to play my tunes through my radio and it would also charge up my iPod. With my current iPod Classic, the charger/adapter does not charge up the iPod. Any reasons why this would not charge?

While I don't know if this is the actual reason or not, I can speculate.
Many USB devices can charge by just applying the power and ground pins of the USB port, so +5V and GND only need to be connected on the USB connector. However SOME USB devices are designed so that the two data lines also have to be hooked up. No data comes had to come across them, but the two lines need to be "active" in that they have a voltage on them (typically 2.5V) for the device to then charge off the power pins.
Many USB charging devices, if they are not moving data, like ciggy lighter chargers, Wall AC chargers, etc. only hook up the power and GND pins and leave the data pins completely disconnected.
It would appear the Classic, the Video Nano, the iTouch & the iPhone are different than previous iPods in that it may need to have the data pins "active" to charge. If you look at some of the chargers available from the Apple store, you will find that many will work with Minis, 1st and 2nd gen Nanos, 5th generation, 4th gen, etc. but NOT the 3rd gen Nano, iPhone/iTouch, or Classic while others will list all of them.
Again, I don't know this for sure as I don't have any of the new products so can not test it, but I am guessing that is what the problem is. You might try contacting Alpine and see if they have any sort of fix for the issue, like a patch cord or replacement connector or something.

  • Help my HP Mini 210-1010NR PC

I don't know why but when I'm on my netbook it keep over heating when I'm charging it. It somethimes will over heat even when it not plug in to the wall. I check the fan and it is running at all times i had a fan to put under it but that don't help it turn my sreen blue. Does anyone know what could be making that happen?

    Hi Darkfirepr,
Thank you for visiting the HP Support Forums and Welcome. I have read your thread on your HP Mini 210-1010NR and start up issues. Here is a link to troubleshoot the HP Mini. Before starting please disconnect all connected devices and cables such as Personal Media Drives, USB drives, printers, and faxes. Remove media from internal drives, and remove any recently added internal hardware.
    Hope this helps.

  • What are my options for in car charging AND music playing for iPhone 3G?

Ok, before you direct me to the other threads, I have read them, and I still don't know what product I can buy for my 3G that will charge my phone and play music in my car.
With my original iPhone I was using the Griffin iTrip FM transmitter. It always gave me that message to ask if I want to switch to airplane mode. I would pick yes or no, then it would charge and play music.
When I plug in my 3G I get the yellow triangle warning that says this device doesn't charge this phone (paraphrasing of course). It appears that it will play music, but if it won't charge my phone then I'm going to run the battery down fast. I rely on being able to charge my phone a bit during the day in the car.
I do not have any AUX port in my car or any kind of iPod hookup in my car that I am reading about on other threads. As far as I know, an FM transmitter or a cassette adapater (I do have a tape deck) are my only options. However, since my husband's car that I drive on the weekends to work does not have a tape deck, I would really prefer a device that does not use a tape (also my previous experience with a tape adapter is that they stop working after a short while).
The power port in my car is nearly at the floor, nowhere near the dash, so any device I use cannot require me to rely on the "on device" controls to control the music.
    I see this on amazon
*Griffin PowerJolt Car Charger for iPod and iPhone (Black)*
    *Technical Details*
*¿ Enjoy full use of your iPod or iPhone during car trips, and arrive with your battery fully charged.*
*¿ Includes detachable Dock Connector to USB Type A cable that can be used separately to connect your iPod or iPhone to your computer.*
*¿ Includes USB Type A to mini-B cable so you can charge while using Griffin iTrip or other dock connector devices that have built-in pass-throughs.*
*¿ 2 Amp automotive blade-type fuse protects against spikes and surges and is easily replaceable.*
*¿ Works with iPhone, iPod models that feature full-size dock connector, and iPod shuffle (1st generation).*
And in another thread, people reported that the Griffin powerjolt DOES work with the 3G, so does the above description mean that I can use this device with my iTrip to charge and play music?

My Pioneer iPod car audio adapter cable does NOT charge my iPhone 3G and they have no plans to change this at this time.
I have a cheapo Griffin car iPod charger (the kind that has a plug for the cigarette lighter and a separate cable that has a mini-USB on one end and a dock connector on the other) and it DOES charge my 3G iPhone.
Go figure, but for now there it is.
Someone HAS to be working on an adapter that goes between the 3G iPhone and a dock connector device to fix this charging issue (which I guess has to do with the last iPhone and many iPods being able to charge via USB at 5V and/or FireWire at 12V but the new iPhone only charging via USB at 5V)

  • Hp mini 210 1040eh: a 10.8v or an 11.8v battery

    Hi!
I have my netbook (hp mini 210 1040eh) for years. I'm going to change the battery because the primary one is not functioning properly. This one has a characteristic of 10.8V. I was searching for  a replacement with bigger capacity (5600mAh), and mostly found only with 11.1V.
If I  buy one with 11.1V is it going to make problems for my netbook?
Thanks in advance for the help!

    Hello @moni17
Welcome to the HP Support Forums!
I have included the maintenance and service guide for your notebook. Inside it shows the compatible replacement parts. Anything that is not included on the list has not been tested to work with the hardware, and could cause potential problems.  HP Mini 2102, HP Mini 210, and Compaq Mini 210 - Maintenance and Service Guide
If you were to use a power adapter that charges at a higher voltage it is likely going to result in a  higher level of current within  the computer, which is going to make it run hotter at the very least.
    I hope this helps.

  • Do they Make a car charger for the Iphone5?

Does anybody know if Apple makes a car charger for the Iphone 5?  I need to find one for long road trips, and I am afraid to buy a cheap one and have it mess up my phone.  Thanks!!!

All my IP4 chargers are nothing more than lighter plugs with a USB port.  I would assume they would work just using your current USB IP5 cable.  I will confirm this Monday.
Mine too and the lightning cable just plugs in as the old 30 pin to USB does
    Works fine
All my lighter plugs are trusted brands ...Belkin,Griffin Kensington etc

  • Car charger disconnecting and reconnecting by itself.

I am having a strange problem with my 3GS. With the car charger plugged in and going down the road the phone will disconnect and instantly reconnect itself to the charger...thought it was the charger so tried another and the same thing. Does it when going downhill. Have determined that it does it no matter what unless I put it in airplane mode, then that solves the problem until I turn airplane mode off then it is right back to doing it again. Anyone else having this problem or know what to do to correct it?

Mine starts it every night at the same place. It is a smooth highway but there is a slight hill. Did it tonight with a brand new charger only way I could get the problem to stop was put it in airplane mode, then could not get it to do it again until I took it back off airplane mode. I have tried unplugging and plugging back up but its still the same. Even tried moving the phone and wire and plug around thinking bad connection or broken wire. Still same thing..like it is getting or losing some signal from the towers making it do it. So I dont think it is charger or the port on the phone.

  • Mini 210 not receiving power

I'm stumped on how to fix my mini 210 and I'm hoping someone can help me.
I started having problems with the computer not recognizing that it was plugged in. After a while the tip of the power cord actually broke off so I thought that was the whole problem.
I replaced the power cord and the computer worked fine for about 10 minutes. Then it stopped recognizing that it was plugged in again. After a while the battery died and would not charge so my computer has been DOA for a while now.
I did a little research and thought it might be the power jack that was the problem. I ordered a replacement, put it in and reassembled the computer. It is still not recognizing the power cord.
I checked the connection from the power jack to the system board and there didn't seem to be any loose, broken, or missing pins. When I put the battery back in and tried to power on while plugged in, I got 2 blinks of the light that's by the power cord but nothing else happened. I tried it again without the battery and got no lights. I put the battery back in and tried again but still no light.
The only other thing I can think of is a loose connection on the system board but I'm not advanced enough to be able to fix that. Can anyone else think of anything I may be able to do before giving up and buying a new computer?

Try to check if it's just the OS not recognizing the power. With the battery out, and power cord plugged in, does it continues to provide power? This means if the power LED lights up.
If still no, I would recommend buying a new one. This is a perfect excuse.

  • Torch 9800 Car charger

I am also having the same problem, my wife and chldren have a Curve and they charge fully but mine does not, not really a good advert for upgrading my Blackberry or even stay with them and this is my third. Any downloads to resolve the situation please?
    Thanks
    Nick

    Hi
The battery is a new genuine one which I bought a few weeks ago and the problem was the same with the previous battery which came with the device from new.
The phone charges perfectly at home via the Blackberry charger plugged into the mains,  and as said my children's Curve charges on the car charger which means that the charger does work.
It gives out a rather lengthy message about not charging and USB ports etc.
    Thanks

  • Car charger cannot keep up

My car charger (generic that I bought 2 years ago with Droid Bionic) cannot maintain a positive charge on my Galaxy S4 while any GPS related application is running.
Does Verizon or anyone know of a charging solution that can overcome this problem?

Thanks for the tip, ejfetters. I checked the Atlanta-area third-party Verizon store where I bought my S4, and the guy said that few 2-amp chargers were available yet. I went to Office Depot, and did find one: Duracell model DU9806 5-In-1 universal cell phone charger for about $30. It's a 2.1-amp charger that comes with mini- and micro-USB as well as iPhone plugs, and can be connected both to a car cigarette lighter or outlet and to a household AC outlet. It has two USB ports, so it can charge two devices at once.
I tried it out on a weekend trip. A group of us traveling in several cars had to deal with a big traffic backup on the Interstate. I used Google Maps on my S4 to find a route around it through the country, calling the others to keep them advised. Basically I was on the phone with Maps and GPS running constantly for an hour, with the phone plugged into this charger all the while. During that time, the phone went from about 86% charge to 100% charge without getting hot in my hand. Then after a day's use at our destination, at the motel I plugged the same charger into the wall outlet and charged the phone up overnight. I definitely recommend it!
