Car Charger that fits Otter Box?

Does anyone use the super tank-like otter box case for the 3GS and if so, what do you use to charge your phone in the car? The few i've bought and taken back won't fit unless you take the phone clear out of the case.. and if you have one of these, how much of a pain in the rear it is to open the case, just to charge the phone.

I just bought the basic car charger from AT&T to replace my Go tips. At the AT&T store they let me try the tip out in the Otterbox encased iPhone.

Hello, I have an otter box for my iPhone 4s and recently the rubber schell has become loose and a little flappy. A lot of my friends have told me that the otter box breaks the lock button on the iPhone and sure enough it has happened to me. It's as if the lock button is frozen in place and won't click down. Can I return this phone for a new one? my biggest fear is that I'll have to go a couple of weeks with out a phone while I wait for my new one.. And with regards to otter boxes, should I stay away from them to prevent future issues like this from happening again?
    Thank you for your help!

"Can I return this phone for a new one? "
Do you mean "can I get a new iPhone for free?"  Nope.
Do you mean "since Applecare does not cover accidental damage, can I get a replacment iPhone, for around $250?"  Yes.

  • Can I charge my Ipod Classic with my car charger that I use for my Iphone?

I have an iPod Classic that I would like to take to camp.  Can I use my wall charger and/or my car charger that I use for my iPhone to charge it?

    Yes.

  • What is the best Car Charger that will allow you to play ipod thru radio

I have noticed with the charger that I have there is alot of static/interference. What is the best charger with the least amount of distortion. thanks

The better ones are the ones that connect via the cassette deck. I don't have one in my car so I use the iTrip.
I've noticed more interference with mine using the default radio station so I need to find another one. However, I have the first iTrip which is more of a PITA to retune it.)

  • Car charger that works with the bumper case?

Does anyone know which, if any, brands of car chargers and models that work with the new bumper case? I went to best buy yesterday and they all looked too thick to even buy it and give it a try.

I'm pretty sure the lack of functionality with car chargers and the bumper case is simply because the cutouts for the USB connector on the bumper is too small..that's the only reason. Otherwise it will work; it's simply a physical problem with the connector not seating properly; that's it.
I'm saying this based on my own situation. I have a Griffin car charger /FM receiver that worked with my iPhone 3G and it worked with my iPhone 4 until I put the bumper case on.
The situation is the same situation as to why the Apple supplied USB cable that shipped with the 3G does not work with the iPhone 4 w/bumper. Apple redesigned the size of the USB connector and sized the cutout on the bumper for their new smaller size making the bumper not backwards compatible with existing devices with the older size USB connectors. The size differential is not that big but it's big enough to cause problems.

  • Ipod Nano/iTrip/Car charger problems.

I recently bought an itrip nano (the one that fits around your ipod) and i originally had a charger for my car, but thanks to the good people at apple I had to buy a new one because no cables would fit the old charger with the itrip plugin.
    *end rant, begin question*
Alright, I ended up buying a macally car charger that had a USB port that would have a wire that could fit the two together (cost about 40 bucks). Ready to here nice clear music right? (clear enough since i did remove my antenna) Wrong...now I hear this annoying high pitched sound if i turn up my car speakers...I already know the problem with reception when you turn up the ipod volume...so what am I to do??
This isn't a question about reception, ive known for awhile the reception problems that come with these devices. This is a question of that freakin sound, and I'm sure someone is going to tell me that i need to buy something else. Thanks Ipod!

Either that or an expensive retrofit. My last car had a lousy radio so I bought a Sony that had an aux port. There are also some really expensive models that have iPod ports. Another option for some cars is an expensive device that adds an auxilliary input to your factory radio but there can be downsides. For me I have a choice of losing my XM radio or losing audible warnings. And then there's the FM transmitters. I bought a Kensington digital and am mostly happy with it. I say mostly because in some areas there is no free frequency so the iPod is unusable.

  • 2700 Classic - In-car Charger Problems

    Hi,
I am new to this forum so not quite sure what to expect but hope there is somone who may be able to assist.
I have just bought an In-Car Micro USB Charger and when I plug it in it does not start charging the phone but instead says 'Please wait' and then after about 20 seconds take me to a 'Select PC Mode:' screen with 3 options, there is no sign of any charging ntaking place!
This is soooooo frustrating, can anybody out there help to throw some light on this problem?
    Thanks,
    Neil

    Neil,
sorry to be the bearer of bad news but this phone does not support USB charging. You need to use a charger that fits the  very small power socket on the top of the phone.  The USB socket is there for PC connectivity as either a memory stick or PC Suite mode so that it can talk to OVI Suite to synch your phone with Outlook etc.

  • IPhone 5S no longer charges with Verizon Car Charger

I bought my iPhone 5S the day it came out and everything has worked smoothly until about two weeks ago when my iPhone refused to take a charge from my iPhone Verizon brand car charger.  I have not updated the software recently.  It was already up to date.  This is the Verizon car charger that was sold as a bundle when I purchase the phone.  I would understand a little better if the car charger did not work when I purchased but now I am confused.  Does anyone know a fix for this?

    Hi,
The iPhone says that some chargers may not be authorized and therefore may not charge (paraphrase) but I don't see the lightning bolt next to the battery.  The Apple charger that comes with the phone works and my larger iPad charger also works with it.
There is not visible damage to the car charger and I do not remember mishandling it in any qay.
    I hope that helps.

  • Ipod nano with funky car charger

As a very stupid test I plugged my ipod into a gimmick car charger to USB connector that is supposed to plug into my USB powered coffee mug. Suprisingly, the Ipod Nano heated up instantly. Observing that the ipod probably should not "heat up" I unplugged it after less than 15 or 20 seconds of "charging" the battery.
The Ipod looked ok though - in fact my iTrip was broadcasting the iTunes just fine. Because I still needed a fresh charge for the pressing road trip ahead of me, I then took the Ipod back inside to my laptop and proceeded to charge it there for an hour or less. I unplugged the iPod and found it was still working, but it was still slightly warm to the touch! Bad sign I suppose...
An hour or so later in the car, I found the iPod would no longer turn on. It had been off since I'd been charging it on the laptop. But now it was dead and the 10 second trick gave no response. 5 days later it is in this same state. I waited days before trying to plug it back into my laptop to "recharge". It appears to be very dead.
Has anyone found similar experience, and does it sound like this is simply an issue where I've blown the battery? Or is this more serious and a $200 mistake? (Ipod warranty ended December 2006).
Thanks for any help out there and notes of sympathy!

I experienced the same problem. I have a car charger that is not Apple. My ipodwas working fine until I used it. The ipod became very hot and would no longer hold a charge. I sent it away twice and still nothing worked. I had to buy a new ipod.

  • Vision M - In car, charging with USB continuosly

Hi, i checked few post, but did not find anything that can give me clear answer.
I want to keep my visionM in car all the time and charge it thru' USB continously.
Problem is, player is using power faster that charging itself thru' USB, resulting in loss of all power in couple hours.
I use FM transmitter and USB charger ( i tried 4 different kind for better performance)
does anybody have success doing this ? keeping Vision M playing music in car whenever Car is running thru' USB
    THanks
    Ken

Don't use the Generic one as it can damage the player, The cell phone one doesn't output enough juice for it.Can't say about the SanDisk one. The older the battery the less playtime it will output. Age of the battery has more to do with it than use of it. So the charger itself would be my guess. Get either the car charger that is made for the Playstation Portable (a real one) or the one Creative makes. http://www.walmart.com/catalog/produ...duct_id=396047

  • Any car charger with line level dock RCA outputs?

    Hello,
My new car has RCA aux input jacks. I am looking for a car charger that will plug into a standard cigarette lighter type plug that also has the dock line level output with RCA plugs so I can keep the iPod charged and hook it up to RCA. I'm not interested in a headphone jack based RCA plug since that's not the line level out.

    Found it cheap! $28.88

  • Need a car charger with line out for 3g

    Hi,
My Belkin charger works great with the v1 iphone, however, it won't charge the 3g. It appears that the Belkin is using the "firewire" pin for charging which isn't supported by the 3g.
I need somebody to recommend a car charger that will charge the 3g and has a "line out" connection for my car's aux input port.
    Thanks
    Donald

There's the Griffin TuneFlex and the Kensington LiquidAUX.

  • My FM transmitter and car charger doesn't work with my new iPod Touch.

As stated in the subject, when I connect my new iPod Touch to the FM transmitter and/or car charger that I was using with my iPod video, it doesn't work. When I connect the transmitter alone, nothing happens and when I connect the car charger, a screen appears that says something like, "charging not supported with this device"
Has anyone experienced these issues? Or does anyone know of a solution???

I bought the new iPod Touch 3rd Gen 32Gb model on the day they were announced. This is my first iPod, but my wife already owned an iPod classic. I tried the car charger that we had bought for her older iPod and I too got a message something like, "charging not supported with this accessory".
I saw the previous response and went out to shop for a new adapter. I found a Belkin kit that included the auto 12v power socket adapter that one can plug a USB cable into. The unit came with a USB cable that plugs into the iPod docking port. The kit also came with an AC home adapter with one USB port. My newer iPod charges just fine with both of these adapters.
So I would agree with the previous post. The newer units need the newer USB charging adapter rather than the older basic 12v adapter.

  • FM Transmitter/Car Charger Compatibility

Apple Store item description indicates Monster iCarPlay 200 is compatible with 3rd Gen Nano. Purchased...didn't work on my iPOD, but did work on neighbors older gen. iPOD. Talked to Monster Technical and they said iCarPlay 200 was not compatible with 3rd Gen iPOD and that they had no other transmitters that were compatible. Can someone confirm that they have an FM Transmitter/Car Charger that is compatible with a iPOD Nano 8gb 3rd Gen. Obviously, I am a bit reluctant to trust Apple Store descriptions indicating compatibility.
    Thanks Paul

    I recommend this FM Transmitter:

I'm using this one with my iPod nano 3G. It works great!

  • HT1476 Device Not Supported when car charging my iPhone 5

So has anyone found an Apple car charger that works with iPhone 5s? Best advice I've received is to buy a separate inverter with AC and USB connctions on the front...

iTunes automatically syncs voice memos to your iTunes library when you connect iPhone to your computer.
It couldn't be much easier than that as you don't actually have to do anything more than normal.
This lets you listen to voice memos on your computer and provides a backup if you delete them from iPhone.
Voice memos are synced to the Voice Memos playlist. iTunes creates the playlist if it doesn’t exist. When you sync voice memos to iTunes, they remain in the Voice Memos application until you delete them. If you delete a voice memo on iPhone, it isn’t deleted from the Voice Memos playlist in iTunes. However, if you delete a voice memo from iTunes, it is deleted from iPhone the next time you sync with iTunes.
USB syncing is far faster than Bluetooth.
