Car-kit conversion 6310i to E70

I don't have a Nokia Car kit for my 6310i, but one tied into my Sat-Nav (VDO Dayton), also I do want my E70 to charge.
Can anyone tell me if it is possible to simply cut the connector off the CARK-91 end of something like this ( http://www.mobilefun.co.uk/product/5862.htm ) and wire it onto the old D connector that goes into the Sat-Nav?
I've found pin-outs here: http://pinouts.ru/CellularPhones-Nokia/nokia_5110_6110_pinout.shtml and here: http://pinouts.ru/CellularPhones-Nokia/nokia_pop_pinout.shtml . I could do the soldering job myself but would need confirmation of the connections...
A converter cradle would be good, like this: http://www.mobilefun.co.uk/product/5134.htm , but I can't find one that will take the E70!
My installer is telling me simply to buy a new Nokia kit, and forget the links to the Sat-Nav...
Thanks, for any replies

Although it may appear that you can just change the wires around, this method will not work because the software in you sat nav is designed for Nokia 6310i. You will have to buy a new stand alone handsfree kit for your E70.

  • Problem connecting a 6310i to a CARK-112 car kit

    Hi,
I'm trying to connect a 6310i to my CARK-112 car kit.
The Nokia phone detects the car kit as "Carkit 112" but when I hit select to pair with it I do not get the option to enter a passcode, instead it displays "device not available"
The car is secondhand and had the car kit previously fitted, I have located the brain and have the appropriate 4 digit passcode.
Anyone done it or can help me?
    John.

It sounds like the cark-112 has all the connections full, you will need to reset the car kit. Press and hold the buttom for 5 seconds and you should hear a long bleep. Try this with ignition off.

  • CAR KIT 6310i - ADAPT FOR 6230i?

I have a professionally fitted Nokia car kit for a 6310i - fitted about 5 years old.
Is there a simple way to adapt this for my new 6230i either wired-in or bluetooth?
Would be grateful for any advice from car kit experts out there

This may not work, if your 6310i car kit has old software then it will not work with 6230i, it will say 'enhacement not supported', if you do buy the above items make sure you can return them if they do not work. The only other solution is to buy a new CK-7W car kit which dosn't cost that much more for the bits and is guarenteed to work with your phone and future phones hopefully. The choice is yours.

  • Upgrading a Car Kit from Nokia 6310i to Nokia 6680

I drive a Mercedes E320 which has a fitted car kit which takes a Nokia 6310i in a cradle. This works very well and is integrated to the car radio etc, it is not a Mercedes kit as it does not integrate to the Mercedes Command System (i.e. I can not push the button on the steering wheel to answer calls etc). I think it is Nokia Car Kit but I can not be sure as it is hidden under stacks of plastic and leather and it will be a devil of a job just to find the box.
Last year I upgraded to a Nokia 6680 (my trusty 6310i having decided to retire) and given the law on use of phone in cars I thought it about time I put a new car kit in the Merc, (I cant do with things in my ears, so headsets are out of the question). I have bought a CK-7W and the cradle for the 6680 but as it is going to be a difficult job to locate and replace the whole system (or expensive if I have the dealer do it) the question I want to ask is simple. Is it possible to just CUT the cables between the different cradles and thereby join the new 6680 cradle to the existing 6310i car kit, (I am quite proficient with a soldering iron and heat shrink tubing). OK, I know this is a bit Heath Robinson but if it will work then it will save me a whole load of time and inconvenience, or a whole stash of money as I don’t relish the thought of ripping out a Mercedes dashboard just to find the car kit
If it is possible does anyone know the cable colours (if they are not the same, between 6310i and 6680).
    Thanks
    David

    Hi
The new cradle (CA27) will not work with the old car kit (assuming its the CARK-91).
But If you can locate the CARK-91 control box behind the dash (my guess is that it will be near the radio of behind the glove box), there is no need for cutting/ joining of wires.
Autoleads make an adaptor from the old Nokia 6-pin to the new 4-pin connector.
Its simply then a case of replacing the phone cradle, replacing the control box with CK-7W, swapping the other connectors (mic, speaker), plugging in the converter, and away you go.
Search for "06-208B Autoleads Adaptors" in Google for the converter (be careful - there is another adaptor that is 4-pin to 6-pin

  • Upgrade a Nokia 6310i car kit to a new Nokia?

I bought a car with a car kit installed which fitted a Nolia 6310i. I then bought a CARK 91 kit so I could use my Nokia 3410. I want to upgrade my phone to something like a N96 or even a Samsung or Sony Ericsson, however do I need to have my car kit taken out and a new one installed, or can they just replace the handset holder?

The cark-91 is not upgradeable to work with any of the phones you listed, As Okinawa has mentioned above, click the link to view all the new Nokia car kits, there new kits will work with any of the phones you have listed.

There is no cradle adaptor for this to work but you could try this http://www.solware.co.uk/mobile-phone-car-kits/bluetooth-car-kit-convertor.shtml This will sit in the cradle and convert the kit to bluetooth.Or you could buy a new kit, you will still be able to use the speaker wiring, any good engineer will be able to sort this out.

  • 6310i car kit

    Hi
Am just in the process of swapping cars and would like to take my car kit with me - the current car is being scrapped so can pull out the wires if needs be.
Love my 6310 and refuse to go to Bluetooth so if anyone has any ideas about where I can get additional wires and an installation guide for this car kit I would be most grateful.
Dannyboy - hope you might have the answer judging by your experience?!

    /discussions/board/message?board.id=accessories&thread.id=101
I discussed wiring diagram on the above earlier thred, If you remove everything carefully you should not need any more parts, you may want to contact a local cellular engineer to do the job, it may be quicker and safer also he will have any extra parts you may need.
    Good Luck.

  • Nokia hands free car kit & 6310i

when i bought my ford st170,i had a hands free car kit fitted, after selling it i bought a new ford transit connect but not before removing it to fit it to the van.The hands free has a red wire, yellow wire and black wire plus two wires for the speakers, having looked at the wiring for the van,the colour code is totally different.
    Can anyone HELP me,
    thanks,
    martin....

If you are not quite sure where all the wires go in your vehicle then you should'nt attempt to install this kit, modern vehicles have very complex wiring systems on them and you can do damage which could cost you a lot of money. I have been installing car kits for 16 years and can put you intouch with a engineer near you if needed.

  • Hans free car kit for my Nokia 6310i

I have a Nokai hands free car kit (Model number PCH-4J) which I can’t fit to my car as there are 2 abbreviations on the wirering plan I don’t understand, can any one tell what they mean? Blue Ignition, Red 12V, Black to earth, Green to AMC? & Yellow to CRM? Thanks. Caine Ashford.

    Hi moby61
Blue wire > +12 volt switched by ignition
Green wire (CRM)for motor antenna gives +12volts when phone is on
Yellow wire (CRM)car radio mute goes down to 0volts during a call
    Black wire > negative
Red wire > +12 volts from battery

  • Nokia 6230i and Mercedes car kit

    Help.
My phone is no longer working in my mercedes command car kit. If I fiddle with it it does intermittently pick up but does not charge it and often does not work properly eg unable to close a call. I've asked Mercedes to check the kit and apparently it's not a problem with the command system or phone cradle. The advice I've been given is that it could be the software or the charge block in the phone. Has anyone had a similar experience or can give advice. Thanks.

    Hi mhickman
The PopPort connector on the bottom of the phone is notorious, but you could try cleaning the contacts with a pencil eraser which may improve matters. As this is not a Bluetooth connectivity matter, I don't think software is implicated in this issue.
If you ever want to upgrade your phone you can change UHI cradle from 6230i to a 6310i one which you could probably find cheaply on Ebay and use a ViseeO MU-1000 Bluetooth module which fits in the cradle.

  • E50-2 s/w upgrade causes bluetooth car kit malfunc...

Newbie here...have a BMW 5 series, which paired seamlessly with the E50 when I got it. Then performed upgrade to phone. I paired it again with car kit, whilst recognised, and show's dialling/incoming calls on screen - the car no longer re-routes the call via the car, I have to pick up the handset! I only performed the u/g to see if I could speed the phone up which was maddeningly slower than my trusty old 6310i... ;-) Any suggestions guys??

  • Which Car Kit for my trusted 6230 & 6230i

I am so confused with the amount of Car Kits available. I would like a kit for my 6230 & 6230i and have seen 2 so far. The CARK 91 and the CARK 126 but do not know which would be more suitable. I do not want Bluetooth connection, I would just like to plug the phone in a cradle and have a decent 2 way conversation. Any ideas on which kit would be the most suitable. Power/stereo mute/external antenna would be nice but not essential. Thanks in advance.

CK-7W Car kit using the wired connection into an MBC-15s Cradle with the AXF-15s Antenna Coupler.
The only downside to these older wired car kits is that there is no digital speech processing so there will always be some background noise. Therefore is it critical that the microphone is correcly placed directly in the line of your voice and away from air flow from an open window or air vent.

  • Converting car kit for 6210 for use with N73

I have a Saab 93 with Nokia issued 6210 car kit fitted at garage at delivery. Plays through speakers etc. I now have an N73 - is it possible to convert or add something to the original car kit to use the functionality with the new phone?
    Thanks

We have a Nokia CarK-91 in the car with a simple pop-port adapter in the original cradle. It works without too much problems. We bought the adapter to use a 6230i in the CarK-91 cradle.
The N73 is wider then the 6230i so I had to cut away the sides of the adapter. There are also 2 plastic pins next to the pop-port itself that I had to cut off by 3 mm.
But now we can use the N73, the 6230i and the 6310i in the same carkit. The only thing is that you need to be cautious when clicking in the 6230i as there are no guidance pins anymore.
There are reports that the same setup doesn't work. It seems that it has to do with the firmware of the headunit of the CarK-91 (above K series works) and the maker of the pop-port adapter (I don't know the brand. Bought the adapter at Halfords in the Netherlands 2 years ago).

  • N8 Bluetooth car kit problem

After some tests and research, it seems that:
    - N8 don't sync phonebook with the most recent Audi and BMW built-in Bluetooth car kits (but seems to work with some Mercedes models).
    - The antenna signal communication doesn't work either.
    - Some times (about 1 out of 3) the answer of an incoming call is not handled correctly by the BT car kit.
    - Just phone pairing and basic call handling is working.
The same Audi and BMW Bluetooth car kits are working fine with the N97 (including phonebook synchronizing, recent call handling and antenna signal).
In this situation the N8 is almost unusable safely by car!
    Does anyone have some advice?
Is this a known problem from Nokia? Is it planed of being solved in a next firmware?

There also Problems with Parrot MKI9200.
After ending the conversation with incoming calls and pressing red button the N8 starts streaming music buy it self thru the Parrot. If you call out this never happens.
And there is problem handling music streaming playback with the Parrot + N8.
Speak and contacts works like it should.
Toyota RAV 2010 BT HF you can pair it but you can't talk thru it.
Older BT headset does the same you pair it but no sound.
So I think N8 has problems with older Bluetooth devices.
All Car brand has problems with many phones so it´s no 100% solution.
Better to go the old way = Buy the BT car solution from the same brand as the phone
and you get a solution from the same decade.
And skip the old **bleep** the carbuilders is building in the most cars that has a development
time for about 5-8years that worked good with the Nokia 6233.....
Use the Nokia CK-200 work like a glove!
But buy the extra external mic the build in is just built in...
