Car Kit for Nokia 8800

Can any one suggest the best hands free car kit that the nokia 8800 is compatible with.

You may use a 616 car kit which has display and your phone will support sim access so you can download your contacts.

  • Car Cradle for Nokia 8800

Does anyone know when the car cradle is being released for the Nokia 8800 to suit an Audi S4 Cabriolet ??

If you have the car kit factory fitted by Audi then this is an issue for Audi. If you have a Nokia car kit fitted as an aftemarket product then only Nokia can answer the question. My opinon is that they probably wont make a cradle for this phone because it is a designer phone not a common use phone. The 8800 dose have bluetooth connection available if thats any good to you.

  • Can anyone recommend a car kit for the Nokia 6131?

I'm looking for a car kit for my 6131 and I'm a bit baffled by all of the options I've found on the internet.
All I really need is a nice neat mobile holder and a charger. The holder should not be the type that attaches to the air vents; I had one of those once before and it just made the car look untidy!
I already have access to a Jabra BT250 bluetooth earpiece so I'm assuming that if the phone is in its cradle I'll be able to use that to make and answer calls. Otherwise I don't mind buying a bluetooth car kit if it's a better option.
I noticed on another thread that someone was recommending the wireless plug in hands free HF-6W to a 6131 owner, but the phone isn't listed as compatible with that on Nokia's web site. In fact, if you look at the compatibility details for all of Nokia's car kits, the 6131 isn't listed as compatible with any of them!
Any recommendations for the best holder and charger for the 6131, or a single unit that combines both?

The only way to connect this phone to a car kit is via a bluetooth connection, the ck-7w would be suitable for this. There is no specific holder for this phone so you would need a universal holder, i suggest that you buy a specific non damaging bracket for your car to mount this on to give you the best position.

  • Best car kit for a Nokia 6111.

    Hi all,
Just got my 6111, and I want to get a car kit for it. I had an 8310 and used the CARK-132(?), which worked very well.
I was thinking of getting the CK-7W. As it is similar sort of style, it should save me a bit of effort with re-wiring the speaker/mic.
My main question is: with this car kit, will the Pop-port connection charge the phone?
Any other car kits particularly recomended? - I don't need anything fancy (CK-610?), just something that will allow me to easily answer and make the odd call easily, with radio mute, and as cheaply as possible. If it will automatically take the call when the ignition is switched on, that would be handy.
    Thanks,
    Nick.

    Thanks Danny,
I'm curious as to why using a pop port connection would be a safety issue? Surely once the phone is plugged in and sat in a cubby hole, it's no different to using the kit with bluetooth?
I think I've come to the conclusion that I may as well buy any bluetooth handsfree and a separate charger. Most of the time I will not need to charge the phone in the car, but I need the facility just in case. At least with a separate charger, I will be able to use it in a different car.
I could buy a CK-1W which appears to be exacly the same as the 7W apart from the pop-port snd cheaper. Otherwise there are numerous universal handsfree kits available. Any suggestions?
    Nick.

  • Car kit for 6500 from 6230i

I have the now old cark 126 great holds and charges the phone even has an arial. It seems what ever I do now with my new phone is a backward step. I am begining to think I should have kept my 6230i instead of changing to the 6500c.
I hope one of you can help with the following issues.
1 Which hands free kit should I use?
2 Is there a cradle available?
3 What about charging the phone ?
    4 arial ?

The only option you have is to change your car kit, Nokia only do bluetooth car kits for 6500 classic. Look at Nokia ck-15w or ck-7w, your phone will work with other brands of bluetooth kits like Parrot or THB Bury.

  • Car kit for 6210 Navigator

I've just upgraded from a 6230i, for which I have a Cark126 car kit, to the 6210 Navigator. I can't find anything like my current car kit for the Navigator. I really wanted to just plug the phone into a cradle and have it immediately charge and connect to the car's handsfree.
What do you all think is the best way to go 'hands-free' in the car, with my new phone? My hubby says he's capable of wiring a hands-free kit if it's straightforward but that he's no car or electronics expert!

Both the CK-100 and CK-300 have a charging cable coming from the control unit.
The charging cable plugs into the bottom of the cradle and then every time you put the phone in the cradle, it will be on charge and held legally. The actual connection to the car kit itself is over wireless Bluetooth.
If your car has aux in on the stereo system then the CK-300 is the all singing, all dancing option as you can operate more controls of the phone from the control button of the car kit AND have music from the phone playing through the car stereo PLUS a 3.5mm jack that you can connect an IPod to.
However you do not have aux in, the CK-100 will give a good simple solution and still give you the wireless music option but played directly through the car speakers.

  • Hans free car kit for my Nokia 6310i

I have a Nokai hands free car kit (Model number PCH-4J) which I can’t fit to my car as there are 2 abbreviations on the wirering plan I don’t understand, can any one tell what they mean? Blue Ignition, Red 12V, Black to earth, Green to AMC? & Yellow to CRM? Thanks. Caine Ashford.

    Hi moby61
Blue wire > +12 volt switched by ignition
Green wire (CRM)for motor antenna gives +12volts when phone is on
Yellow wire (CRM)car radio mute goes down to 0volts during a call
    Black wire > negative
Red wire > +12 volts from battery

  • Best car kit for n73

I have just got my N73 and like it a lot - bit slow but thats no great issue.
My problem is finding a decent suitable car kit
    1) I already had the parrot 3100 (could not download contacts)
    2) Then bought a ck-610 works great but when receive a text the car-610 resets and the text stays on the ck-610
    3) Upgraded to a ck-616 now i cannot get contacts or text messages to receive.
4)So now I am toying with a ck-7w but that says issues
ck-15w does not show battery and network etc (whats point of the screen then)
5)and now a ck-20w but does not do something i cannot remember
Trouble is I upgraded my contract for 12 months to get this phone as its suppose to be compat with carkits and yet it aint
So just what do I do for a car kit, I spoke to nokia whom have said all 3 carkits are compatible yet when i buy them and install them and find out it does not nokia say "oh ys that is a known problem"
You try getting a refund when you've had the car kit installed.
any help or advice would be grateful please

    Hi skyline_olyn,
I have N73 and I am thinking of buying CK-20W carkit+LD2 navigation pack. I read that there were some compatibility issues with N73 & CK-20W+LD2. From what I found out, the CK-20W works perfectly well with N73, until you start using LD2 for navigation. It sounds like everything works fine with your N73, despite the fact that on NOKIA Europe website, N73 is marked as not compatible wih LD2 nav pack. Does this mean that you are able to make/receive calls whilst navigating without phone hanging up, losing GPS signal etc? I would be grateful if you could confirm that you are using LD2 for navigating. Can you also tell me what firmware version you have installed on your N73?

  • Car Kit for 6121

I have a new Nokia 6121 phone. I also have a built in car kit which was for a 6100. Is there any way the car kit can be adapted to work with the 6121?
    Thanks.
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

switch on the ignition, then search for devices, if your phone finds a ck-7w then connect to it, if not you may have a cark-126. do you have a nokia button on the dash?.

I want to add a car kit to my 2004 MINI I have the Aux in jack for the audio HK ans XM radio system that came with the car but the 2004 Nokia bluetooth kit that was installed when the car was new only worked with a 2004 Nokia feature phone and after I replaced that phone with a motorola phone in06 I have had to use a Jabla ear piece for hands free in the car... and with the new 4S I would like to fit a proper working bluetooth car kit I understand there is something new about how bluetooth is implimented in the 4S that is causing some problems with car kits.

  • Upgrading a Car Kit from Nokia 6310i to Nokia 6680

I drive a Mercedes E320 which has a fitted car kit which takes a Nokia 6310i in a cradle. This works very well and is integrated to the car radio etc, it is not a Mercedes kit as it does not integrate to the Mercedes Command System (i.e. I can not push the button on the steering wheel to answer calls etc). I think it is Nokia Car Kit but I can not be sure as it is hidden under stacks of plastic and leather and it will be a devil of a job just to find the box.
Last year I upgraded to a Nokia 6680 (my trusty 6310i having decided to retire) and given the law on use of phone in cars I thought it about time I put a new car kit in the Merc, (I cant do with things in my ears, so headsets are out of the question). I have bought a CK-7W and the cradle for the 6680 but as it is going to be a difficult job to locate and replace the whole system (or expensive if I have the dealer do it) the question I want to ask is simple. Is it possible to just CUT the cables between the different cradles and thereby join the new 6680 cradle to the existing 6310i car kit, (I am quite proficient with a soldering iron and heat shrink tubing). OK, I know this is a bit Heath Robinson but if it will work then it will save me a whole load of time and inconvenience, or a whole stash of money as I don’t relish the thought of ripping out a Mercedes dashboard just to find the car kit
If it is possible does anyone know the cable colours (if they are not the same, between 6310i and 6680).
    Thanks
    David

    Hi
The new cradle (CA27) will not work with the old car kit (assuming its the CARK-91).
But If you can locate the CARK-91 control box behind the dash (my guess is that it will be near the radio of behind the glove box), there is no need for cutting/ joining of wires.
Autoleads make an adaptor from the old Nokia 6-pin to the new 4-pin connector.
Its simply then a case of replacing the phone cradle, replacing the control box with CK-7W, swapping the other connectors (mic, speaker), plugging in the converter, and away you go.
Search for "06-208B Autoleads Adaptors" in Google for the converter (be careful - there is another adaptor that is 4-pin to 6-pin

  • Nokia 610 car kit and Nokia 6500 Classic phone

    Hi,
Has anyone else had problems connecting a Nokia 6500 Classic to a Nokia 610 car kit. The handset won't remember the pairing and I have to enter the 16 digit passkey every time I start up the car, even althouth the "remember pairing" feature is activated. Other models of Nokia handsets connect fine

I have managed to download the contacts with the N95 by installing the "download Contacts" application on the N95.
You HAVE to make sure that the paring between the two phones is deleated, then that the "download contacts" app is running on the N95 before assigning the SIM again from the 610, entering the passcode and then choose YES to the questian "Download contacts?"
The only problem is then that the contacts display as Lastname/firstname as opposed to firstname/lastname which is my preference and I cannot for the life of me seem to be able to change this. Still I cant have everything I suppose. At least its keeping the pairing without having to enter the passcode everytime which is still the case with the 6500.
Did anyone ever get to the bottom of this passcode problem? Or been able to display the contacts downloaded from an N95 as firstname/lastname?
    best regards.

  • Replace MB built-in car kit for 6310 with E50 CR-6...

In my Mercedes ML I have a car kit compatible with Nokia 6210,6310i and it is connected/managed by Comand navi. Is it possible do replace the car kit with CR-66, using CA-55 cable and to keep all the functionality I have with the old one?
Thanks in advance for your time!

It is just a matter of swapping the cradle, you will also need to swap the antenna cable.

  • Great News for BT Car Kits for N85 users

The new N85 (us version anyway) has
    Bluetooth profiles including:
    Phone Book Access Profile (Server)
This should enable the phone to automatically sync contacts with most car kits. I have a US model 2007 Mercedes and this should enabke it to work probably.
I preordered the phone and expect delivery within 2 weeks. I hope it works.
    http://www.nokiausa.com/phones/phonecompare/n85/n85_tech_specs

Unfotumatelty - the additional BT profile did not help transfer the contacts to my Mercedes BT unit. I guess the "server" part of the profile waS OF NO HELP.
I ended up buying a Viseeo0 MBU2000 unit to replace my mercedes puck in the armrest compartment.
It also did not transfer phonebook automatically but it does allow me to transfer the contacts via OPP and it also allows me to use voice dialing through the mercedes system.
Not as automatic as I was hoping for but much better than it was.
All in all, the Viseeo0 is a pretty good alternative for people with Mercedes and the newer Nokia phone models.
I believe that some of the E series work a little better with some BT units.
2006+ Mercedes, BMW, Audi and Infiniti's seem to have a tough time with the Nokia N series.
