Car kit problem HFU-5 control box

I recently installed my car kit for my nokia 6230i and it worked great no problems.... now my radio is on constant mute and the phone is not connecting up when I put it on the cradle.........any suggestions

The car kit may be frozen. Try disconnecting the power to it for a short time to reset it. That may work. If it is too difficult to disconnect the power, disconnect the car battery instead.

  • Car Kit Queries - HFU-4 replacement needed

Hi, please can I get some help. I've just bought a car with a Nokia car kit, dont known which kit it is but the box says HFU-4.
I do not have a nokia phone so i was hoping i could replace the HFU-4 with the HF5 and use a bluetooth wheel to connect to my Ericsson.
If this is possible, is all the wiring the same and just a matter of swopping the boxes?
The kit is connected to the car radio/sat nav (ISO??)  The car is a Passat with the sat nav MFD Radio.
    Thanks so much
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

the kit you have is a cark-126, the connections are the same on the hfu-5 (ck7w) but you will need the control button to control the volume and answer the calls. You will also need to make sure the ignition wire ( blue ) is connected to an ignition supply to turn the kit off and on as this was not nessassary on the hfu-4

  • 6230i CAR KIT PROBLEM

    Hi All,
I have recently bought a car with a Nokia cak kit.
    Part nos;
    HFU-4
    AX-15S
    MBC-15S
Which, from my limited internet ability, understand amounts to a CARK-126 kit.
I purchased a Nokia 6230i,which I understand works with this kit, but when I connect the phone I get the message 'Enhancement not supported'.
I have cleaned the connectors with an eraser, but to no avail.
Please can anyone shed some light on the matter.
    Many thanks

The message "Enhancement not supported" suggests a compatibility problem, and from the Nokia website I could not fnd CARK-126. Where did you find out that this car kit works with the Nokia 6230i? Was the source reliable?
If it turns out that this car kit is not compatible and you do want to intall one into your car, use the Nokia website to find a suitable replacement for the CARK-126

  • Car Kit problem with 6680

    Can anybody please assist me!
I have a CK-7W car kit which I have been successfully using until recently with a 6230i. Last week my phone was upgraded to a 6680 and was supplied through work with the CR-27 cradle. However, when this is connected to the existing cradle connector, I get the message 'enhancement not supported' on the phone.
    Any suggestions?Message Edited by phill_a on 15-Jan-2006

    Ok.
    I have now tried the CK-7W with my wife's Nokia 6100, just using the pop-port cable and it has similar problems;
    1. It thinks it is connected to a headset, not a car kit.
    2. The radio stays on "phone" mode.
I didn't actually try making a call on it, but it seems odd that the problems are similar with another phone.
With my 6680 and the CK-7W, the phone works fine via bluetooth, but again, thinks it is connected to a headset, not a car kit.
When I connect through the pop-port cradle (CR-27) the radio stays on "phone" mode and the phone thinks it is connected to a headset. If I try to make a call, the sound is terrible, with loads of echo and feedback.
Also, while I can "see" my HDW-2, I am unable to actually pair with it.
    What do I do?
I have bought the genuine Nokia accessories, and this phone seems unable to work with them. Plus the CK-7W seem unable to connect to either my 6680 or 6100 via pop-port.
    What can be the problem?
I am really annoyed with what is supposed to be a high quality product.
    Perhaps someone will respond?

  • IPhone G3 S with built in BlueTooth car Kit problem

    I have an iPhone 3Gs.
When I connect to my car kit (Motorola T605) the kit always falls back into music mode.Tthe phone works in this mode but when I use either the iPod feature or a GPS navigation app I get no sound through the car.
It worked perfectly with my older iPhone with 2.2.1.
Any ideas as to what is wrong or what I can do to rectify the problem ?
Do any of you have car kits that work fully with the iPhone 3G s that you can recommend .. It looks like I might have to change my car kit.
I have updated my 2.2.1 3G phone .... The same problems exist. It seems to be a version 3.0 software issue to me.

    Hi Tim,
I have just spent 2 hours on the phone with Motorola's tech support (They were useless at best !!!). I got nowhere at all. They blame all the problems all on Apple and say their kit is NOT guaranteed to work with all phones with A2DP. I wish they said that in their sales literature and i told them that .. they seemed to be unable to accept the idea that their saying it works in writing is somewhat misleading (Wrong in this case) and perhaps even a breach of sales law.
I then spent over an hour at my local (and very experienced) car audio store. they were more than helpful but they also could not get things working correctly.
I do have a Sony car stereo system and this has a lead for an iPod to play through the stereo system.
I connected my iPhone to this ... it worked .. sort of ! .. I had to play around a bit .. I managed to get Audio to work and my navigation App (Navigon Europe) worked this way also.
The store then played around with a Parrot MKi9100 car kit that they had on a demonstration stand.. This was significantly better and I am having my motorola T605 removed and disposed of in disgust tomorrow and the Parrot installed.
The Parrot will also charge the iPhone via it's cable unlike the Motorola and Sony setup.
I did speak to Parrot themselves and they have said to me that any of their models in the MKi range will be fine with the iPhone with version 3.0 software as they have done software updates .. The updates can be applied by the owners simply and quickly.
Just for information for you and others with similar problems ... We also tried several car stereo systems that say they have bluetooth and iPhone compatibility built in to them .. Alpine in particular ... Not one worked !!!
The Parrot is being fitted as I said earlier tomorrow ... I will make a further report when it's all done to let you know just how good it is and how everything works.
    I hope this helps.

  • N8 Bluetooth car kit problem

After some tests and research, it seems that:
    - N8 don't sync phonebook with the most recent Audi and BMW built-in Bluetooth car kits (but seems to work with some Mercedes models).
    - The antenna signal communication doesn't work either.
    - Some times (about 1 out of 3) the answer of an incoming call is not handled correctly by the BT car kit.
    - Just phone pairing and basic call handling is working.
The same Audi and BMW Bluetooth car kits are working fine with the N97 (including phonebook synchronizing, recent call handling and antenna signal).
In this situation the N8 is almost unusable safely by car!
    Does anyone have some advice?
Is this a known problem from Nokia? Is it planed of being solved in a next firmware?

There also Problems with Parrot MKI9200.
After ending the conversation with incoming calls and pressing red button the N8 starts streaming music buy it self thru the Parrot. If you call out this never happens.
And there is problem handling music streaming playback with the Parrot + N8.
Speak and contacts works like it should.
Toyota RAV 2010 BT HF you can pair it but you can't talk thru it.
Older BT headset does the same you pair it but no sound.
So I think N8 has problems with older Bluetooth devices.
All Car brand has problems with many phones so it´s no 100% solution.
Better to go the old way = Buy the BT car solution from the same brand as the phone
and you get a solution from the same decade.
And skip the old **bleep** the carbuilders is building in the most cars that has a development
time for about 5-8years that worked good with the Nokia 6233.....
Use the Nokia CK-200 work like a glove!
But buy the extra external mic the build in is just built in...

In November I replaced my vehicle with one which has integrated bluetooth phone within the stereo system (2010 model Landrover). My previous Nokia N95 work perfectly with it and was so much clearer than the previous car kit.
However, since upgrading? to the iphone on Orange (late November) when in the vehicle the connection between phone and car kit is lost way too often and the radio screen says "no network".
I spoke to Landrover who say it's not their problem (probably right as the N95 worked fine).
    Any ideas would be welcome

  • 1.1.3 and Parrot Bluetooth car kit problems and solution

I've discovered a potential fix with help from the good folks at Parrot Bluetooth devices technical support. The main issue with version 1.1.3 upgrade and car kits appears to be when the iPhone attempts to sync contacts with the BT device. Apparently, something changed in 1.1.3 about how Apple sent contacts through BT. To fix it on a Parrot car kit, first delete the iPhone from the list of paired devices on the car kit. Then unpair the car kit on the iPhone. Pair the two devices following your devices instructions, only with contact synchronization disabled. On my 3200LS this meant selecting "Disable Synchro" from the phone pairing list. The connection was quick and rock solid after doing this.
I have seen reports of this same solution working with Ford Sync devices also, and it may address some of the Garmin issues too. Obviously, this isn't ideal since you won't have any contacts or at least will have to manually enter them on your device. But it should get you through until Apple devises a fix in a near future (hint Apple) upgrade.

    Klash,
Try updating to iPhone 1.1.4, and see if your issue is resolved.
    Hope this helps,
    Nathan C.

  • C7 - Bluetooth connection with car kit - problem

    Hi all,
Can anyone help me about my problem. I bought new phone Nokia C7 with Anna software and I have a problem with pairing with my car (Bluetooth device Parrot CK3000 Evo). I think that the problem is with phone, because when I paired devices all things work well, but when I turn off the car (Parrot is switched off) and go away, other phones that I previously used disabled connection and can be used normally. But with this phone I see that for the phone connection still present (?!?) The car symbol on display still shown, and when I try to use the phone, I can make call, other people say that they receive calling , but I can't hear them, and they can't hear me. When I manually disconnect Bluetooth device, phone work normally, but when I am in the car again, two devices doesn't initiate pairing, and again I have to do this manually. It' a huge problem for me.
Is there anyone who have the same problem, or anyone who know how to solve this. I  couldn't find option to solve this from menus.
    Any ideas?
Unfortunately my warranty doesn't allow me to change software version from 022.014 to another... but if this will help...

    Thank you for your reply,
Do you think, that the solution is new update for Parrot device?
As I understand, you still have the problem and your hope is this update eventually.
Do you read somewhere something about this?
I have registration in Parrot forum, but I haven't read inside anything about  the problem . It looks, that they never heard about it...

  • N73/Brodit cradle & cable for car kit

Can you please offer any assistance? I have a full Nokia car kit with interchangable cradle (not Bluetooth, model unknown) which was purchased 2nd hand for a 6230i. I have now upgraded to N73 & need to modify the car kit. The existing pop port lead works OK with the N73, so I have bought a Brodit cradle, but the lead does not fit the recess in the cradle, so bought a CA-27 cable as advised by the Brodit info. The CA-27 fits my control box but on testing with a meter, is wired different to the original lead & doesn't work with the phone. Is there any tech information available online on pin-outs for the cable etc., or would a Nokia CK-7 advanced control box work with this phone & CA-27 cable? Rewiring the cable wouldn't be a problem if I had the info - I used to repair Laptops to component level. Also, I don't really want to replace whole kit again (3rd time!) & don't want to go totally bluetooth. Any information would be much appreciated! Dave.

Thanks confiture & Danny B for your responses - I was aware that the CA-27 was intended for the CK-7W advanced. Since the existing cable from the kit works with the phone, I was hoping to find some pin-out info to modify the CA-27. We are thinking of emigrating this year & I have had to buy the N73 for cash to avoid extending contracts, so had hoped to sort the car kit problem as cheap as I could. Unless someone comes up with an alternative idea, there must be a way of modifying the CA-27 to the same pin connections as the existing cable, which as I said, works "straight up the **bleep**" of the N73! Would buy a CK-7W box, but a mate who used to work in the trade says they are prone to going wrong, and a 2nd user one (ebay etc.) may be a duff one.

  • Nokia C7-00 & Kufatec FISCON Bluetooth Car Kit

    Hello everybody!
I just updated my C7-00 with latest Symbian Anna 022.014.
Very nice user interface, updated browser, all applications 100%-compatible.
I do have a serious problem with my Bluetooth car kit (Kufatec FISCON using CK5050+ chipset, SW 3.23.5). The phone pairs with the kit, synchronizes content (contacts and call registers). When I disconnect (turn off ignition and leave the car), the phone hangs and displays the bluetooth connection as already established.
Things were working very well with latest Symbian version (014.XXX).
I think this is a bug in Anna Bluetooth stack. Does anyone have any clue?
The problem occurs once the phone contacts are synchronized with the car kit.
When I disconnect just after pairing (before complete synchronization) the phone behaves normally (ie. connection is dropped).
Is it possible that the phone does not complete disconnect request from car kit?

    Hello,
    Did you solve the problem?
Too late I saw your post, but my problem is completely the same:

  • Problems Car-Kit CK-7W Bluetooth connection not st...

    Hello,
I have the following problem :
I have in my Car a Nokia CK-7W Car-Kit. The phone i use is a Nokia N73 with the latest software 4.0736.3.2.1.
the only connection i use is the bluetooth i dont use the cable connection.
Verry often when i am calling someone the connection is suddenly not good anymore. there is suddenly a lot of noise so the person on the other side is just hearing noise and could not understand me anymore.
Calling again will not solve the problem they cant understand what i am saying.
The only solution is to turn the ignition key to 0 so the car-kit is turned off and then restart again.
Also has to power off the N73 and back on --> problem solved for a while.
I have tried with my older Phone Nokia 6280 there the problem is not the same. Sometimes it is also not good but not the same as with the N73.
With the 6280 i have also a different problem that it is not posible to disconnect the line when calling. so when i push the CK-7W button for a disconnect the line keeps open the only option is the read key on the phone.
So i dont know exacly what is defective , is it the car-kit or are both the phones not good.
Does anyone has the same problem.
Someone told me that it is because i have one of the first CD-7W car-kits so they have software that is to old. I dont think that it is normal that there are so much problems. They have told me that i have one of the first versions because my paing key is not 0000 but a nr in my case 1819.
When the CK-7W Module is defective , does anyone know if it is possibe that i just buy a Module without the other accessories.
    Thanks for the advice.
    DCA

    Hello,
I can ubderstand if yo have installed more than 100 CK-7W that you are sure that the passcode must be 0000.
I am 100% sure that on my original box there is CK-7W and on the manual the passcode is 1819.
I have also a POP connector + cable (wich is not installed ) to connect the phone with cable. Has the CK-1W also this possibility ?
What i dont can see is the correct nr ont the main unit because it is stiil someware behind the dashboard.
The only think i can think of is that i have received a ck-1W like you told but is was in a CK-7W box. The manual deliverd was also CK-7W but the passcode was on a label that was put on the manual so they have the possibility to make a misttake.
I dont think that after +- 3 year i can go to Nokia an ask them for the correct one ?
So someone had made a mistake , maybe at Nokia or maybe in the shop. Why i dont know . the only thing i know is that i have a lot of problemens with this stupid thing.
If you have installed 100's of the CK-7W can you advice me if the stupid thing is working fine or that i be better of to buy another one ?
I only need a goed stable working Car-Kit not with display,....
    Thanks

  • Is my car kit box broken?

    hi all
i have just tried to re-install my nokia 616 bluetooth kit into my new car, using the proper wireing harness, but it doesnt want to work any more.
it seems theres no power comming out of the control box(connected the loom to an older ck-7w and it worked)but when i plug in the 616 box i'm getting nothing!!
theres no power going to the control button or the screen.
could anybody help me with this or is it knackered?

Is the blue wire connected to a positive supply when you turn the ignition on. Without this the kit will not work.

  • Iphone car kit echo problem

I have a Nokia CK-7W car kit installed in my car, has always worked seamlessly with a variety of cellphones ( nokia, sony etc ) - have just got the 8gb iphone in the UK and in the car it sounds great. However, whoever I'm calling complains of a bad echo on their end of the conversation. Turning the volume down in car helps subdue this but doesn't solve it....
    Any ideas appreciated !

I think you could be on the right track Daan.
The problems I experienced with the CK-7W and Nokia 6300 (see earlier post above) seem to have been resolved with a Nokia software update for the 6300 (v 5.5), I read somewhere that the Nokia software update fixed a problem with the 6300 handset microphone staying active when connected to the CK-7W. All the echo problems seem to have stopped and callers agree the call quality is now improved.
I vaguely remember reading on these forums of someone reporting that adjusting the volume on the iPhone itself helped with echo problems.
Alternatively, have you tried turning down the speaker volume with the CK-7W control button when a call is active, this also may help.
I hope this is sorted for you soon, I know how frustrating these issues can be!!!
