Hello to all, I have installed Solaris 10 on a laptop Acer aspire 1360, but the kernel does not recognize the card ethernet .

My x86 system has had Sol-7, Sol-8, Sol-9 and Solaris 10 installed to it.
I have used the same PCI ethernet card for all those distros.
It is an old DEC-21140 10/100 card I purchased at a computer swap meet
for US$ 2.00, six years ago. I use it because every OS recognizes it natively.
I've experimented with a 3COM 3C905-TX, and that one is just as compatible.
I acquired the 3COM card for US$ 5.00 at another computer swap meet.
It was more expensive, so I'm "saving" it. (Saving for what? Who knows ! )
Perhaps you could consider using a completely different Ethernet adapter.
Read the Hardware Compatibility List and use hardware that's recognized natively.

Smart card signature not found although it is plugged in with acrobat XI pro

I'm using AA XI 11.0.06. Upgraded this morning. That's running on Windows 7 Ultimate 64.
I get the boundary boxes by clicking on the 'edit text and images' tool, and they appear. Or don't in this case
I only need to change a few characters in the file. However, even just opening up the file in AA and then saving, the "A = " "text" gets deleted.
Could it perhaps be something to do with embedded or missing maths fonts on my machine? I mean, I don't get any warnings, just can't do anything with the A and AB italic bold text.

/sbin/init not found after Solaris10-x86 first reboot

Hello all,
I just installed Solaris 10 on a x86. Nothing seemed to go awry, AFAIK.
After the very first reboot it fails to boot with this:
WARNING: exec(/sbin/init) file not found
(Could not start init)
Press any key to reboot.
So I'm stuck, it seems.
It does not seem that the / slice is missing as I guess I'd have a totally different error message, something like "could not mount root fs", I dunno.
I'm sure that if I could boot the install DVD in single mode I'd be able to go and really check if /sbin/init really exists.
Except that... I'm used to Sparc with its OPB, dunno how to get x86's equivalent to OpenBoot.
Anyway, anyone came across the same "missing file" problem after initial install, and if so, how did you get out of it ?
Bonus question, is there an equivalent to OpenBoot on x86 and how to reach it ?
Before you ask.. this PC ran on Solaris 9/x86 a looooong time ago, no hardware changes, so no need to send me to the HCL :)

how to get x86's equivalent to OpenBoot.That would be the configuration manager. Its the question you get in the beginning where it asks you what image to boot ('press b or enter to boot normally'). If you press escape there you get into the section where you can determine the default boot device and add new hardware drivers when needed.

Express Card Driver Not found after upgrade to 10.6.7

I upgraded my macbook pro to version 10.6.7 recently and later found out that the express card 34 slot drive was missing and could not access my Sony SxS cards. i changed the card from pci slot to pci extended slot but no change, somewhere i red that if the card is just below the video card then it wont work, im not sure of this, my pci slot is just below the nvidia graphics card. i tried so many times to install the card but its all invain.

Have you disabled onboard sound in the bios? Have you turned off Serial ports and other unneeded things? Do you not have another slot to try the card in? This tells me that you have an IRQ conflict. please list what is currently in the slots now.

NVIDIA Graphics card is not found on my U510 ideapad

I bought this specific laptop because it said it came with a NVIDIA GeForce 625M (1GB) graphics card installed. I have downloaded several drivers, and always get the same error. It says that a NVIDIA device cannot be found on my system. I have the U510 IdeaPad. I have gone into the control panel and checked out the display adapters, and nothing shows up for NVIDIA; just Intel (R) HD 4000. I would like to know how to access my NVIDIA graphics card, because as far as gaming goes, I can do next to nothing with the Intel card.

Can you verify that this card was present before,
There are models that does not have the Nvidia on it but Intel HD alone.
You can send me the Serial Number of your computer through private message and let me check your system's Original Configuration.

6 in 1 card Reader not found after installing Windows 8 - HP Pavillion Dv6

I am running a dv6874ca and after installing Windows 8 the 6 in 1 card reader no longer works - the system does not read any information. I cannot find the card reader in the device manager.
Note: I am trying to view a Sony Pro Duo card which was possible before installing Windows 8. The only item that appears under "disk drives" within the device manager is my hard drive.

CX640 - Nvidia GT520M not found

Hi!
Ich have the CX640 with a Intel HD3000 and a integrated Nvidia GT520M. But since some days the GT520M is not listed any more in the device manager - also the Nvidia Control panel display a "An NVIDIA graphics card was not detected in your system" message.
So i reinstalled Windows 7 via the RescuePartition - but the problem still exists. I tried GPU-Z and Sandra 2012, but the card is not found. I installed the latest Intel Chipset Driver and Graphics Driver from the MSI.com Website, but the problem still exists.
Can somebody give me a hint, what i can do now? Is there a secret option to enable and disable the card? I found nothing in bios...

The General pane has checkboxes for various devices to show on the Desktop. A memory card is considered an external drive. If you want to see it on the Desktop when it mounts, check the external drives checkbox.

Credit card payment with eway returns "invoice number not found" on BC

I am currently working on the payment gateway of pared.com.au. the problem we're having is that every credit card payment gets redirected to the "Credit Card Payment Fail" page, although the payment was marked as successful on eway.
eway transaction details stated "response code: 00", response text "transaction approved".
however, the CC payment fail page stated:
"there was an error processing your credit card. please correct this and try again.
invoice number not found: . please go back and correct this."
strangely enough, the order is perfectly recorded as successful order in BC (customers -> orders).
any help would be much appreciated - i've been looking at this for hours but i'm getting nowhere. thanks everyone!

As per the field description, it's used fo rupdating CC details, not for purchases.
Remove that system field and reinsert the form, and it should then work

Credit Card Failed - Invoice Number Not Found

Hello,
I have set up PayPal payments pro for my payment gateway and everything seemed to set up fine. When I try to place an order on the site it gives me an error stating that "Invoice Number Not Found" as shown in this screenshot.
No notification is sent to the customer.
Invoice is created in Business Catalyst
Product goes out of inventory
Credit Card is charged.
I have been searching for hours for a solution and I suspect it is an easy one. I have found reference to the webform and feel that maybe the web-form for this gateway is not correct. The form that comes up for the purchase is the default form under the module templates. When I go to (Webform, online shop purchase form) the form there is very different.
Any help would be greatly appreciated

You were correct. I selected default form and it did not help. When I went and looked at the form the existing order was highlighted. I removed that and it works.
What threw me off was the invoice number was not on the form when I fill it out, but the webform did have it. Tricky one to find but simple fix.
