Card for music storage

I am a new BB user, still learning the capabilities of the device.  The other day I ran into another BB user who was playing stored music.  I asked how she did this and showed me a card installed above the battery.  She said her phone came with this.  I check mine and the slot was empty.  Does anyone have information on this?

The micro SD card (memory expansion card) must be purchased separately. I am not aware of ANY device which includes the micro card. I recommend installing the card (as I have) for photo, music, etc. storage. Easy to install. Very handy for memory expansion! Recommend using only the 2GB card as this is the most universally supported maximum amount of memory currently supported by most BB devices.

  • Going from xp to windows 7 64 bit using an external drive for music storage

    Greetings Techies!
I hope you all are well.
I need to move my iTunes from an XP machine to Windows 7 64 bit. On the XP machine I am using an external drive for music storage and the iTunes database is stored on the internal drive. I am looking for advice on how to transfer all of this over to my new Windows 7 64 bit machine. I know iTunes can be picky about everything and I don’t want to take and chances and loose my playlists or music.
Any help would be much appreciated.
    Blessings,
    paul

You are right about it being picky. I just upgraded from Vista to Windows 7 and was forced to format my drive. I had all the music backed up, but when I imported it, I have 2 or 3 copies of some songs, art work missing, and have lost my playlists. I hope someone responds to your question, because I could use similar help! Best of luck to ya . . .

  • FIX: Unable to update/change credit card for iCloud Storage

You may get an email from Apple that says that they are having a problem processing your credit card for iCloud Storage. The email then goes on to give you three instructions to fix this by tapping on SETTINGS -> iCLOUD then tapping on "Account" and then following on-screen instructions.
If (like me) you see that your card is OK but you are still getting the email and you cannot edit the payment details, this is what you do.
    Turn off Family Sharing.
Once this is done, you will then see that the old card details are really what is trying to be used, and you can then update your payment option. This is not known about in front line support and it was only a high ranking tech support person in iTunes support who mentioned this in passing as a possible cure. Share it please as  failing to get your payment option correct can result in losing your iCloud Storage Plan and placing you back at basic free levels.

  • What happens if i buy a girt card for music can i buy music

what happens if i buy a girt card for music can i buy music

I'm guessing you meant to type "gift card". Yes you can, I do it all the time. Buy the card, download to your iTunes account and buy till you go blind! Or drain the money whichever comes first. Cheers.

  • Can I use an iTunes gift card for icloud storage back up

Can I use a iTunes gift card for icloud storage back-up

You can use them to buy ibooks from the ibookstore - and also for items from iTunes, the app store and Mac App Store.
I assume that you are going to give the card(s) as presents ? You can't buy a card, redeem it onto your account, and then use your account's balance to gift items from the store, gifting can only be done via a credit card (and ibooks can't be gifted).

  • Can I use a SD card for extra storage?

I want to add storage for my macbook pro retina because I'm running out of space. Can I use a SD card that I will leave in the macbook?
This looks like just what I need. The ad says I won't even know its there.

Don't do that. The SD card reader inside is not meant for that, and it will not work.
Buy an external disk of good quality, USB3, format it correctly < Mac OS Extended (journaled) >, do not install any software that came with it, and start using it.

  • When using i-cloud for music storage does it take up memory in i-phone?

when using i-cloud for storage of music does it take up memory on my i-phone or other devises?

The behavior is different on computers and mobile devices.
On computers, songs will stream from the cloud unless you explicitely download them, so no.
On iOS devices, each song is downloaded when you play it (or when you explicitly download it), so yes, if you play many different songs, it will eventually fill up your device and you will have to delete some of them.

  • ._ shows at the beginning of songs on an SD card for music in my car

I've added content to an SD card from iTunes and use it to play music in my car. When I go to play the songs the songs are listed with a ._ in front of the song name and when I click on the song to play it says invalid and scrolls through the list greying them out until the original song I added shows up normally and it plays. More annoying than anything.
Are the ._ files album artwork and how do I fix this issue?
    Thanks,
    Gavin

the ._ files are a reference file. (to an icon or the artwork, I don't really know) the reader in your car stereo is not set up to read Mac files apparently. The ._ files are hidden and don't appear when you copy to the SD, but the car stereo CAN see them and tries to read them.
I see these files all the time in Windows when I connect a Flash Drive, because I always have my folder options set to show hidden files and folders.
There's a Preference Pane called "Secrets" that allows you to see hidden files in OS X and you can remove the ._ files before you eject the SD card so they won't cause you troubles in the car.

  • Can I use my credit on. iTunes for music match

Do I have to have credit card for music match

Just to clarify, the answer to both your questions is yes.
You can use any store credit you have to pay for iTunes Match. However, you also need a credit card logged against your account. This is because it is a subscription service and I believe that all subscription services on iTunes require a credit card logged.

  • Can I use two Time Capsules? one as an extension of my laptop (for music and video storage) and the other one to back up everything from the laptop and  Time Capsule (for music and videos)

Can I use two Time Capsules? one as an extension of my laptop (for music and video storage) and the other one to back up everything from the laptop and  Time Capsule (for music and videos)

Not via Time Machine.   It cannot back up from a network location.
The 3rd-party apps CarbonCopyCloner and ChronoSync may be workable alternatives.
EDIT:  And, if you're going to do that, you could back up from the Time Capsule to a USB drive connected to the TC's USB port.  Second TC not required.

  • I downloaded money to my account from an itunes card. How do I pay for music with that and not my credit card

how do I deduct payment for music from a recently downloaded iTunes card and not my credit card

Just click on the song's/album's price button and it should automatically be deducted from your balance - you can't specify how items are charged, it's automatic.
The only time that your credit card should be charged is when gifting, you can't use your balance for that, or if your balance doesn't cover the entire price (in which case the remainder would be charged to the card).

  • When I sync my iphone 4S using iTunes it only syncs 8.5GB of music, not the entore library as specified.  Is there a capcity default limit of the amount of storage that can be used for music and if so how do I change it?

The only limit is that of the device. No restrictions on how much of it you can use for music. Is part of your music library unchecked?

How do I pay for my storage plan when I don't have a credit card? Last year I used an iTunes voucher but can't find that option this year. Please help!

Create an iTunes credit by redeeming a gift card and it will be charged to your credit.  From http://support.apple.com/kb/ht4874:
"payment methods accepted include iTunes store credit, credit cards, and debit cards"

  • Can I upgrade iCloud storage using iTunes cards for payment?

I have chosen not to use my credit card in conjunction with my AppleID, so I purchase all of my apps and media using iTunes cards.  Can I pay for upgraded iCloud storage using iTunes credits?  I would prefer to pay one year at a time using those credits, but if it needs to be monthly, that would be fine as well.  I just want to use the iTunes cards instead of a credit card for the payment.

Thank you.  So to clarify, if I put a credit card on file for this AppleID, but I have plenty of iTunes credit to cover the monthly cost, then the monthly fee will be pulled from iTunes credits instead of my credit card.  Is that correct?
It sounds like the credit card is required in order to provide a backup payment option if the iTunes credits are all used up.  Is that also correct?
You're awesome!! Thanks for the help.
