I was trying to redownload a app and it had me put in the card information, although when I did it said that the payment system was unavailable, how do I fix this?

Apple mail asking for "update" of my credit card information. Could this be a fraud?

I received a mail from Apple, asking me to follow a link in order to update my information with Apple iTunes.
The mail looks very original and trustworthy, however, I don't understand what "account" I'm supposed to give my information to, nor do I recognise the email address being an apple customer service address, as it said: [email protected]
The link in this mail had the following address: apple.itunnes.tfain.com
In the left side of the form that also asked for details of name, address and credit card number, expery date, and security code, the following was stated below a red sign:

Is this really coming from apple?

It's a hoax. Forward the email to: [email protected]
Then delete the email.
Apple will never send you email asking you to update your credit card information.
Failure to comply with this may result in your account being suspended
That's just a scare tactic.

Facetime Activation --- Credit Card information required?

Hi all!
My dad is trying to activate facetime, by first setting up an online account at appleid.apple.com. But when trying to activate facetime on his ipod, he gets an activation failure.
From what I understand, he did not put in any credit card information. Is that required?

Why am I being asked for my credit card information on updates and then being told that my card is declined??h

I Have three app updates on my iPhone 5c, and the App Store is asking me for my credit card information when it is on file and then it gets declined. What is the purpose of needing my CC info for free updates?? Do NOT make me drop my apple products and change to that **** android crap.

If you have a payment source associated with your Apple ID, it needs to be a vaild form of payment. To troubleshoot issues with your payment type being declined, please follow the steps below.
In most cases, this issue is caused by a formatting error in the billing address that you have provided. You can correct the issue by verifying that the information you have provided is correct, or by changing the format of your address to match the format that your credit card company has on file.
You can verify and/or modify your billing address by following these instructions:
Open iTunes. If you are signed in to iTunes, skip to step 4.
Note: Verify that you are signed in to the correct iTunes account. If you are unsure which account you're signed into, choose Store > Sign Out and proceed to step 2.
Choose Store > Sign In.
Enter your account name and password, then click the Sign In button.
Choose Store > View My Account.
Click the Edit Payment Information button.
In the Payment Method section, choose None.
Click the Done button at the bottom of the page.
Click the Edit Payment Information button again.
Enter your billing address exactly as it appears on your credit card statement.
Select your credit card type in the Payment Method section.
Enter your credit card information, your card's security code, and the expiration date.

Yes, it's frustrating.
I don't have my iPod with me but, as I recall, the change is done in Settings/Store. That change will apply to NEW purchases. However, be aware that all purchases are permanently associated with the Apple ID that was originally used. Generally, it's only a problem when you need to update an app. IF you do your updating from iTunes and your logged in to the "wrong" ID, you'll need to log out and back in again. It's easier from the iPod as you do not need to log out/in but you do need to know the password.
Unfortunately, you can not merge IDs nor can you transfer purchases from one ID to another. Go here to find out exactly what you have. I have the same problem so I deliberately made both passwords identical to make things slightly easier for me.

The information isn't on their iPhones, the information is stored in your iTunes account on Apple's servers. If you sign out of your iTunes account on their iPhones in the store apps; iTunes, App Store, iBooks, etc and out of Settings/iTunes and App Store, then no one should be able to access your account from the phones as long as they do not know your Apple ID and password.

If you go to settings/store click on apple id and view account, if you cant change your payment method to none then you prob owe a balance.<----this happened to me. To verify this login to your account on itunes on the computer and click purchase history. if it shows you owe a balance you will have to pay it before you can remove your payment info

I'm trying to delete my old credit card information. (I don't have another credit card.) I can't update any of my apps because they continue to ask me for this credit card. I don't even understand why. None of the apps I own are premium. They are all free. There is not a "NONE" option in the App Store or in Settings. I've already tried everything and I still can't get this credit card off my account. Seems like Apple is forcing iDevice Users to use a credit card. I don't know. Maybe its just me. When I enter the current credit card information a red error shows above the box saying "There's a billing problem with a previous purchase. Please update your payment method." This Credit Card has expired. I have another Credit Card (VISA) that expires in 2017 but when I enter its information a alert shows saying "Your payment method was declined. I want to download a free app. When I sign in then I have to sign in again to iTunes. Then it wants my credit card information as it always does. It sounds like you are trying to download a free app, and when prompted to enter a credit card it is declined. I would use this article to go into iTunes and change your payment method to None:
