CardDAV password on Mavericks

I use DayLite with CardDAV for share the contacts with iContacts.
With Mavericks doesn't work, when I create the CardDAV account all work fine, until I try to select this account from Accouts list, Maveriks contine to ask the password, with this message: Internet Account Preferences can't connet to the account.
I have the same configuration for CalDAV and CardDAV contacts in my iPhone and my iPad, so I'm sure that the configuration are correct (it's not so difficult) and the password as well.
Does someone have any idea?
Only one additional info: DayLite doesn't support ssl authentication, but for working CalDAV is the same

You'll need to connect it to the iTunes library you normally sync it with and restore it.  If iTunes asks you for this passcode before it will let you proceed, connect the iPod to iTunes in recovery mode instead using the instructions in this Apple support document.

  • What is my carddav password

My phone is asking for my carddav password.
I have no idea what it is.

Thanks Steve that did it on my iPad. It was the yahoo account. Im beginning to think that Yahoo is dangerous. It was the hacking of my Yahoo mail account that started these problems. My mail account on my mini still does not work. I posted the problem here and got real professional advice  but to no avail it still doesnt work and I cant re-install the OS because Im in China and their Great firewall keeps the net too slow.

  • How do you change password in Mavericks?

How do you change password in Mavericks?

Read the following page which details how to change it using Recovery Partition.

(It also repeats what I've said.)

  • Firmware password since Mavericks update

So tonight I was having a couple of system issues, so I went to view my options in recovery.. until I was met with this:
Ever since I did an update for Mavericks (not the latest one, before that) I noticed that the odd few settings had been changed, so right now I'm questioning that. I also remember that after the update I was asked to enter my password (on a similar screen) before it got to the login screen.
All in all I never remember setting a firmware password.. I have had this machine from new ever since November last year.

    producerlawson,
refer to this Apple document for your next step.

  • How can I see stored passwords in Mavericks?

I recently installed Mavericks but am having a problem seeing any of my passwords saved in Safari. Previously, I simply clicked on Safari, Preferences, Passwords and then checked the "Show Passwords for Selected Websites" box for the site I wanted to see the Password for. Since upgrading to Mavericks, it won't allow me to check the Show Passwords box and it won't allow me to see any of my previously saved passwords for any sites. This is not good news as I have a dreadful memory and can't remember passwords at all and have always relied on my Mac to do it for me. Has anyone else found the same thing and any suggestions as to how I can fix this?

Then, revert back to your MLion installation and see if the issue persists. Otherwise, I'm out of ideas, except to suggest that you contact Apple's Support, formerly Apple Express Lane.

  • Not able to change password on Mavericks clients bound to AD

    Hi all
    First, our enviroment:
Microsoft Windows Server 2003 as Domain Controller
Mac mini Late 2012 i5 with Mavericks, bound to AD
    Now my issue:
When now a user tries to change their AD password in Systempreferences -> User & Groups, they get following error message:
The password fpr the account "Example User" was not changed.
Your password did not meet the requirements specified by your server administrator. You may need to use dfferent characters,
numbers, or symbols in your password. If you're not sure how you should change your passwor, contact your system administrator
    before trying again.
The new password meet all restriction we set on our DC. So it can't be that the password itself is the problem. I tried to change
the password on several machines - always with the same result.
Anybody an idea what can be wrong?
    Thank you in advance
    Best regards
    Marcel

  • Can local admin change the root password in Mavericks

One of my people and I keep going back and forth with this question. I remember reading somewhere (cannot find it now) that in 10.9 Apple changed it, so a local admin could not longer change the root password if it has been enabled by the IT group.

AFAIK, any admin account user can set/change the root password. See OS X Mavericks: Enable and disable the root user for details. If you or IT don't trust your people, don't give them admin privileges.

  • How can i change my old airport express password with mavericks

I just bought a new TV and I am trying to connect to my wi-fi, which runs via an old Airport Express. The TV manufacturer says that I should try changing my password from a WEP to WPA - but it seems that I can't even access my Airport Express because it's not supported by Mavericks. Is there a work-around, or do I need to upgrade my Airport Express? It's running fine otherwise - supports multiple laptops and iPhone.

  • Itunes password with maverick upgrade

Yet another problem with Maverick, iTunes will not accept my passord, it keeps repeatedly prompting for a password. No wonder the upgrade was free!!!! Why has it not been properly tested/

  • Asked for administrator password during mavericks install

Trying to install Mavericks.  During installation, I was asked to provide my administrator password.  I've never had a password on my Mac before.   I've tried my usual suspects, but nothing works.  I'm confident I've never set up an administrator password before.  Anyone know how I can get around this--or at least give me some hints on how I can recover the password that I'm sure has never existed?

OK. Now I understand. There are certain operations that can not be done from a non-admin account if the admin account password is blank. It's been this way for quite a while, but you probably just never happened to hit on it before this.

  • Password reset mavericks

I bought a second hand macmini 2011. After reinstalling Mavericks the password from the previous owner is still there and he says he didt set up a password. How can I completely reset the installation en setup my own password?

The first thing to do with a second-hand computer is to erase the internal drive and install a clean copy of OS X. You — not the previous owner — must do that. How you do it depends on the model, and on whether you already own another Mac. If you're not sure of the model, enter the serial number on this page. Then find the model on this page to see what OS version was originally installed.
1a. If you don't own another Mac
If the machine shipped with OS X 10.4 or 10.5, you need a boxed and shrink-wrapped retail Snow Leopard (OS X 10.6) installation disc from the Apple Store or a reputable reseller — not from eBay or anything of the kind. If the machine has less than 1 GB of memory, you'll need to add more in order to install 10.6. Preferably, install as much memory as it can take, according to the technical specifications.
If the machine shipped with OS X 10.6, you need the installation media that came with it: gray installation discs, or a USB flash drive for some MacBook Air models. For early MBA models, you may need a USB optical drive or Remote Disc. You should have received the media from the previous owner, but if you didn't, order replacements from Apple. A retail disc, or the gray discs from another model, will not work.
To boot from an optical disc or a flash drive, insert it, then reboot and hold down the C key at the startup chime. Release the key when you see the gray Apple logo on the screen.
If the machine shipped with OS X 10.7 or later, you don't need media. It should boot into Internet Recovery mode when you hold down the key combination option-command-R at the startup chime. Release the keys when you see a spinning globe.
1b. If you do own another Mac
If you already own another Mac that was upgraded in the App Store to the version of OS X that you want to install, and if the new Mac is compatible with it, then you can install it. Use Recovery Disk Assistant to create a bootable USB device and boot the new Mac from it by holding down the C key at the startup chime. Alternatively, if you have a Time Machine backup of OS X 10.7.3 or later on an external hard drive (not a Time Capsule or other network device), you can boot from that by holding down the option key and selecting it from the row of icons that appears. Note that if your other Mac was never upgraded in the App Store, you can't use this method.
    2. Partition and install OS X
If you see a lock screen when trying to boot from installation media or in Recovery mode, then a firmware password was set by the previous owner, or the machine was remotely locked via iCloud. You'll either have to contact the owner or take the machine to an Apple Store or another authorized service provider to be unlocked. You may be asked for proof of ownership.
Launch Disk Utility and select the icon of the internal drive — not any of the volume icons nested beneath it. In thePartition tab, select the default options: a GUID partition table with one data volume in Mac OS Extended (Journaled) format. This operation will permanently remove all existing data on the drive.
After partitioning, quit Disk Utility and run the OS X Installer. You will need the Apple ID and password that you used to upgrade. When the installation is done, the system will automatically reboot into the Setup Assistant, which will prompt you to transfer the data from another Mac, its backups, or from a Windows computer. If you have any data to transfer, this is usually the best time to do it.
Then run Software Update and install all available system updates from Apple. To upgrade to a major version of OS X newer than 10.6, get it from the Mac App Store. Note that you can't keep an upgraded version that was installed by the previous owner. He or she can't legally transfer it to you, and without the Apple ID you won't be able to update it in Software Update or reinstall, if that becomes necessary. The same goes for any App Store products that the previous owner installed — you have to repurchase them.
    3. Other issues
If the previous owner "accepted" the bundled iLife applications (iPhoto, iMovie, and Garage Band) in the App Store so that he or she could update them, then they're linked to that Apple ID and you won't be able to download them without buying them. Reportedly, Mac App Store Customer Service has sometimes issued redemption codes for these apps to second owners who asked.
If the previous owner didn't deauthorize the computer in the iTunes Store under his Apple ID, you wont be able to  authorize it immediately under your ID. In that case, you'll either have to wait up to 90 days or contact iTunes Support.
When trying to create a new iCloud account, you might get a failure message: "Account limit reached." Apple imposes a lifetime limit of three iCloud account setups per device. Erasing the device does not reset the limit. You can still use an account that was created on another device, but you won't be able to create a new one. Contact iCloud Support for more information.

  • What does enter password for what does cardDAV account "yahoo" mean on ipad 2

what does enter password for cardDAV account "yahoo" mean on ipad 2

I'm having exactly the same problem. I saw no further responses and am wondering if you resolved this. Just bought the newest iPad. I'm a comfortable user as I'm on my 3rd iPad. Never seen this asked of me. Incidentally I am also trying to resolve why I "can't connect to apple store". For that I have reset "network settings" & forgotten my wireless network. I'm starting to wonder if the CArdDAV and "can't connect to the apple store are related. I can reach the Internet via Mail & Safari. I have a weak g3 connection. Not able to download anything via that as it's slow right now. I am trying to restore my apps after a theft of my old one. I have quite a few apps I need to download and I can make none of them happen. And every time I reboot the "cardDAV password" request comes up, repeatedly.

  • There is a way to hack a mac pro even if you have a password. How do I prevent hacking?

My friend can actually hack a mac pro just by restarting it even if you have a password to protect your mac. My mac is curently mavericks.
Steps: 1.When you open a mac with a password in mavericks, click switch user.
                2. After the page loads, click restart.
                3. After the computer shuts down and is turning on again, press command s.
                4. My friend just typed some code and managed to change my password.
He told me the password and i changed it back, but i wanted to know how to prevent this hack from happening again on my Mac pro.

Don't let anyone use your computer including your friend. It's easy enough to change a password in single-user mode. Just put a master password - firmware password - on your computer to prevent that kind of access. Better yet change friends.
        Boot to the Recovery HD:
Restart the computer and after the chime press and hold down the COMMAND and R keys until the menu screen appears. Alternatively, restart the computer and after the chime press and hold down the OPTION key until the boot manager screen appears. Select the Recovery HD and click on the downward pointing arrow button.
When the menubar appears select Firmware Password from the Utilities menu.
         and follow instructions.
