Cards in iPhoto

Hello,
When I go to click for a card, nothing shows up in the window. I recently did a re-install of Leopard (erase and install). I backed up the application iPhoto, but I am wondering now if the cards resources were in some library somewhere that I did not back up. Does anyone know if this is the case and also, how I can restore them?
Thank you ,
JD

Delete the Themes folder inside the User/Library/Application Support/iPhoto folder and then reinstall again. Also delete the current application and all files with "iPhoto" in the file name that reside in the HD/Library/Receipts folder beforehand.
Do you Twango?
TIP: For insurance against the iPhoto database corruption that many users have experienced I recommend making a backup copy of the Library6.iPhoto database file and keep it current. If problems crop up where iPhoto suddenly can't see any photos or thinks there are no photos in the library, replacing the working Library6.iPhoto file with the backup will often get the library back. By keeping it current I mean backup after each import and/or any serious editing or work on books, slideshows, calendars, cards, etc. That insures that if a problem pops up and you do need to replace the database file, you'll retain all those efforts. It doesn't take long to make the backup and it's good insurance.
I've created an Automator workflow application (requires Tiger), iPhoto dB File Backup, that will copy the selected Library6.iPhoto file from your iPhoto Library folder to the Pictures folder, replacing any previous version of it. It's compatible with iPhoto 08 libraries and Leopard. iPhoto does not have to be closed to run the application, just idle. You can download it at Toad's Cellar. Be sure to read the Read Me pdf file.

don't they read these forums? What is the point of the forum if they don't listen to our voices. Guess this is a load of **** too then! Eesh, should have stuck to PC! At least you know Microsoft are a bunch of robbing ****** who don't care... Apple make a show of caring but they clearly don't

    What version of iPhoto?
What colour profile is the shot?
    As a Test:
Hold down the option (or alt) key and launch iPhoto. From the resulting menu select 'Create Library'
Import a few pics into this new, blank library. Is the Problem repeated there?

  • No longer able to create cards in iPhoto?

I have previously been able to create cards in iPhot using photographs from my iPhoto library. I recently created a thank you card and went through the purchase process as I previously have done, however after entering my payment details the order process failed, iPhoto just kept telling me to try again but I always got the same result.
Since then I have not been able to create any new cards in iPhoto and I am unable to access any of the cards or calendars I have previously designed. Any previous cards are just blank when I click on them in iPhoto and when I attempt to create a new card, iPhoto lets me chose a design but WILL NOT let me add any photographs to the card?
Please help, I recently got married and my wife and I are desperate to send out the thank you cards to our guests and I do NOT wish to have to go to an online service like TruPrint! Thanks.

Try this, go to https://appleid.apple.com and see if updating security settings in "Manage my Accounts" corrects the problem.

  • How to create Business cards in Iphoto

    Hi There:
Would anybody know if it is possible to create business cards in Iphoto. If not any ideas. Thank you.

That is not a feature of iPhoto - suggest to Apple - iPhoto Menu ==> provide iPhoto feedback.
You need a layout program like pages or pagemaker or InDesign

  • How can I change the size of a card in iphoto?

I created a card using iPhoto. The default size is too small. How can I make it bigger. Thanks

Do you want to order the card from Apple? Then you cannot enlarge it, see  Apple Photo Services: Product line details for books, cards, and calendars
Flat cards 4 x 6 in., Folded Card and Letterpress cards: 5 x 7 in.
If you want to print it on your own printer, you can change the papersize and scale in the Print settings.

Recently I downloaded photos from an sd card. When the download was complete all photos were loaded in a random fashion completely out of order. This is the first time it has ever happened this way. downloaded same card to iPhoto and all photos were in order. Help needed. Am working on a job that needs immediate attention and HDR images out of order are impossible to deal with.

Thanks for your help. The out of numerical order comes before the actual import begins. It happens when first uploaded to Lightroom and prior selection of of photos to imported to the catalog.

  • Problems printing Greeting Cards from iPhoto 6 and 8

I've had this problem since I tried it in iPhoto 6, and that is printing greeting cards in iPhoto doesn't work with my inkjet printer. When the first page prints, it's not centered, so when I flip the page and print page 2, they are not aligned and won't cut correctly. My Aunt is able to print cards from iPhoto but only by doing some long 20 step process of exporting them to jpgs using Preview, then printing them from some custom template in Pages. When Mr. Jobs said "Home Printing" was going to be fixed in '08, I got all excited only to see I'm having the same problems. Any one have any luck with this from inside iPhoto?

If you have a 3rd party editor that can handle layers take a look at Tutorial #8.

  • How to create a letterpress card using iPhoto on my iMac?

How to create a letterpress card using iPhoto on my iMac

You CAN'T do it with Flash Player. You'd need Flash Professional and you'll need to learn Actionscript. I've been through the Lynda.com training for Flash, and it's not something you learn in a few minutes or even hours, or can be gleened from a guide. It takes days and possibly weeks, even if you're already good with Photoshop and/or Illustrator and Fireworks.

  • Greeting Cards in iPHoto

Has anyone done a greeting card in iPhoto? If so, can anyone suggest the proper image size/resolutions for good quality prints on the cards? I'm having a hard time, and continually get a notice that "this image may print too low a quality." Either that or my image is too big to fit properly on the card. Thanks for anyone/everyone's constructive input.

Ususally iPhoto gives that warning if your image is too small, not too large as it will scale the available pixels to fit the image frame. Too few would then give that warning. Too many will just get scaled down to what iPhoto needs.
What are the sizes of your images as reported in the Info pane at the bottom of the source window?

Can I create an a card in iPhoto and ship it outside of Canada?

    Maybe
try setting the destination country in teh iPhoto print products country under the iPhoto advanced preferences
However you understand that these are not sent as cards but packaged for delivery to you do you can address them, add anything you want, put in the envelope, stamp and mail - it is a card printing service - not a card delivery service

  • Transferring photos from camera or memory card causes iPhoto to hang up with the spinning beach ball - why

Transferring photos from camera or memory card causes iPhoto to hang up with the spinning beach ball - why?  This happens only on a 5 year old iMac running 10.6.8.  It is a recent developmemt.  All other machines have no problen with the same card.

I click on the send feedback everytime it pops up with the force quit, so they'er getting it.
That sends a crash report. Its doubtful that these are ever seen by a human being, but more likely datamined. Sending feedback reaches an actual person.
My guess from yourdescription is that the portion of the OS (note, OS, not iPhoto) that manages the importing process is what's crashing.
