I am not a permanent member of this forum but looking for an answer here. Infact, i m an MBA(Marketing) (but having good understanding of ERP systems and development). I just want to inquire the career scope for me, and number of other people like me who are MBA and want to be an Oracle functional consultant. Would it be beneficial for me in getting a job in international market if i opt Oracle SCM as a field of my career and get its training and certification.
2ndly -- what will be more beneficial for me Oracle Financial or SCM. or any other field

I have a 1and1 email address but when I complete all the setting up info it says that either the imap user name or password is incorrect. I have attempted it many times since carefully putting in the correct info but still same message appears. Any ideas?

In NOKIA, Customer is cared till he buys. After th...
I had recently bought a Nokia N91 handset for Rs 28,000, about 3 months back. Within a week, it had to be dispatched to customer care centre due to malfunctioning. I received the phone back after a month. After a month again, it had to be dispatched to Nokia care centre on 5-Sep-2006. The target date for delivery was 5-Oct-2006. In Nokia, it takes minimum 1 month to repair any phone. The complaint number is 2-1JKT61.
Upon inquiring on helpline about my handset after 10 days, I was told that the new target date is 30-Sep-2006.And, upon inquiring on 30-Sep-2006, they confirmed delivery, and that I could collect the handset from the Nokia care centre. Similarly, SMS status, indicated “Status closed, Send to L3”. It seems Nokia believes, the term L3 is very informational, and satisfies the customer’s query.
Upon reaching the center, I was informed, that they have no information about the delivery of this handset. Further, there was no revert mail about the handset delivery from the head office. It was very encouraging for a person who had just driven 15km drive to the center in just over 1.5 hrs.
I was told to wait another 48 hrs and thereafter, another 12 hrs. I was further assured, that Nokia repair cell would inform me about the handset.
Of course, they has never called till date.
Obviously feeling frustrated, I aggressively inquired on the helpline about the handset. I was asked to behave professionally by the helpdesk of the company. But in events till date, Nokia has not showed professionalism as expected from this company. Further, my monetary investment is blocked due to this negligence.
After personally visiting the Nokia care centre, I am now told, there are scores of cases in this model, and that my case is not so special. And, there will be no refund or replacement.
When challenged about dragging Nokia Customer Care to consumer court, they openly claim that this case will be dismissed from the court without success, and till the case continues, the handset will not be returned.
It seems the Nokia as a company has not only employed good lawyers, but also the judges, who will always deliver the case in their favor. After all, consumer safety laws of this country are not strong enough to teach Nokia a lesson.
I will be moving a petition against nokia in consumer court, and I would request all Nokia handset owners who have suffered the agony of the nokia customer care to unite and fight against this injustice.
In NOKIA, Customer is cared till he buys. After that, who cares !!I have to say that my experience of Nokia is just the same and it only adds insult to injury when moderators on here patronisingly lecture to the very customers who pay Nokia employee's wages by buying the handsets.
This is a help forum. People may want help on how to formally complain to or about Nokia. I'm afraid moderators and those fortunatel enough not to have suffered at the hands of Nokia's appalling customer service need to be realistic. Nokia cannot have it both ways; they either take customer service seriously and train/remove the idiots they have on their helpdesk or theyt accept that there will be a backlash.
I have exhausted just about every avenue I can think of to recover a handset I have been without now for the fifth week. See 'Beat this' in the Smartphones forum for more info.
I have tried phoning, e-mailing and writing letters. Your phone calls go unreturned. E-mails are replied to usually but in a usually generic and always unhelpful fashion, offering nothing by way of resolution. My letter to Nokia Head Office has gone unanswered. Out of sheer frustration (well you can only believe the usual line 'we're still waiting for a response to X Dept' for so long), I have written to the Board of Directors of Nokia in Finland. Not after though speaking to the MD of CRC, Mr Cameron Radford who also expressed concern that Nokia just refuse point blank to take ownership of a situation they themselves have created.
I had my handset stolen. It was brand new. Despite CRC claiming on insurance with the carrier, UPS, they are not allowed to use the claim to provide a new replacement handset to me. They will only offer a secondhand handset because Nokia insist this is part of the warranty. Because not even a second hand handset was available for me, Nokia saw fit to keep me waiting for weeks even before anyone told me what the cause of the delay was.
I do not understand how a business that is so blatantly inadequate when it comes to basic customer service can be so large. Nokia are an absolute disgrace. If the company took a pride in customer service, instead of 'telling off' those who are so frustrated, they complain on here, they would actual pick up the problem and do something to turn it around.

Back up all data.
This procedure will unlock all your user files (not system files) and reset their ownership and access-control lists to the default. If you've set special values for those attributes on any of your files, they will be reverted. In that case, either stop here, or be prepared to recreate the settings if necessary. Messaging does not let me move from one conversation to another without going to the contact info of the person and choosing "send a message", then I can continue the conversation. I'm sure it's a setting I have made by mistake, but can't figure it out

Since I tend to message with teh same people I leave the messages available to me. If you are in one conversation with "Karen" and want to message with "Kathy" tap the message back arrow and select Kathy.
As always just be careful to rememeber who you are messaging to! -
In October 2011, my previous employer converted to SAP, as the rest of the worldwide entities were already using SAP. At that time, I was an Order Coordinator, where my job role was to process all of the Inside/Outside Sales Representatives orders for the US. Because of my keen attention to detail, the speed in which I learn new roles and general IT knowledge, I was asked to be the SAP SuperUser for our Financial Operations team. I quickly began to learn the roles of Order-to-Cash, Customer Master Data, Pricing Conditions, Contracts, some Material Master Data, and even Customer/Material Pricing Audits. I also performed manual customer billing in SAP until the automatic modules were implemented. Knowledge of these roles created a need for me to become a trainer to my team, where the SAP Consultants left off. After only working in SAP for the few months after the conversion started, I evolved out of an Order Coordinator rights of access and was given a not-so-typical role as an "analyst". I had more than a firefighter role in SAP, as my normal log in credentials gave me full rights to all of these modules and even special reporting. Our parent global company realized necessity for my role and followed proper protocol to authorize the access changes to still meet the SOx regulations. Prior to using SAP, I never thought I'd fall in love with it and enjoy my job so much, but it happened! Despite my previous employer's less than perfect data that was copied into SAP, we managed to have an efficient ongoing process to clean it all up. I became more of a liaison between Financial Operations and our IT Dept/SAP Consultants. I "translated" the technical steps that IT/SAP Consultants were trying to teach everyone and trained my Financial Operations team in a way they would understand. I truly enjoyed my job, even at our most difficult moments.
However, after all of the fun I was having while working in SAP and truly gaining a ton of useful experience and knowledge, "life" happened and I had an opportunity to move from Atlanta, GA to southern California. I've searched for months to find a new career here in California with a company that I could continue my learning experiences and become more proficient in SAP, but I'm a little lost. My search to find jobs have only given me possibilities in Customer Service positions or ones that are SAP sales/programming based. I'm floating in limbo and looking for help from the SAP community on where I can go from here to get back into a career path with SAP.
I'm 28 years old and I'm currently finishing my Associate degree in Business Administration. I'm a Microsoft Certified Professional (MCP), certified with the Help-Desk Institute as a Support Center Analyst, and also completed my previous employer's Quality Advocate Certification which focused on Six Sigma and Lean concepts. Prior to leaving the company, I was being considered for a company sponsored training in the Six Sigma Green or Black Belt program. I've recently started working a contract position as a Customer Service Rep, processing orders, but the company will be completing an SAP conversion in May 2013; so only a few months away. The problem I have in this position is that I feel frustrated in learning their current software when their entire team seems to have their own personal ways of doing their job. I prefer to have structure and perform job duties the right way, then building on that to make the job more streamlined. I spoke with my recruiter but he feels I may be a bit premature on feelings about working in this contract position. I may be just feeling a little impatient in having to wait another 3 months to see if the company may even hire me on permanently and what role I would have with SAP, beyond Customer Service Rep. I'm hoping to get some direction from the SAP community on where I might focus my attention in learning SAP. My hope is to find a position working with SAP like the one I enjoyed so much back in GA. I'm even considering options to learn the programming side. I think SAP is a great software package once people understand how it's designed, or can be designed, to work.

I struggle answering questions from folks who give too little info. It's refreshing to have too much info for a change.
I'll summarize your post and give suggestions:
You have very strong end user experience, almost bordering on support level SD knowledge. You have experience with the way that at least one company implemented SAP SD but don't have many years of experience with different approaches, so you can't pitch yourself as someone who's "been-there, done-that" outside of the SD world and you can't bill yourself as having SD functional knowledge to the extend that you could be a consultant for SAP SD. (See FAQ: Different Career Paths in SAP for descriptions of different traditional SAP career paths.)
You've moved to Southern California, which is chock full of companies using SAP, by the way, and you're having a hard time finding the right job. Your education is probably going to be problematic at this point. Most SAP related jobs require a Bachelor's Degree at a minimum. Definitely keep on going with your degree. I don't know where you're doing your associate's degree, but you might want to look in to Cal State Fullerton, which has an *excellent* SAP focused business degree program. (http://business.fullerton.edu/).
You've found work at a company but had to start over at a lower level of responsibility. Since the job you just landed will be transitioning to SAP in 3 months, you have an opportunity to repeat your previous rise by volunteering to be a super-user again. Alternatively, you could talk to the group within your company and express your desire to help out supporting the system from the back end. Traditionally, companies lose a few folks immediately following an implementation, so there's a good chance that if you make your desires and skills known, that you'll be able to move onto the support team once a position opens up.
All of the above assumes that you want to continue on the functional side of SD. You didn't mention any aptitude or preference for programming. It is certainly easier to get programming jobs than functional jobs (see How did you get your start in SAP?), but it seems like you really enjoyed the functional side of SAP. I do *not* recommend learning an SAP skill for which you have no desire simply to get a job, hoping that you can switch later. Use the skills you have to get the job you really want, doing something that really excites you. It's far to easy to fall into a job simply because it's there and get trapped and burned out.

I created a site with Wix.com. Since then I've been exploring Dreamweaver, and the author of "Dreamweaver for Dummies" suggets that the best way to make changes to my existing site is to use Dreamweaver's FTP capabailities to download the existing pages. But Wix doesn't support FTP -- so they tell me, and simpleurl.com (where I regeistered my domain name) and which is somehow involved in the posting of my site) can't help either. Here's the Dreamweaver page that I need to fill in.
How do I get this information?Yup, it's basically free, altho you can upgrade a little, as I've done.
And I took
a careful look at the "source" for the pages I've created. That code will
show
nothing of what I've written -- text-wise. It's all stored on the Wix
servers
and accessed with various scripts. You can re-locate your Wix-created site
after 60 days -- not before. So the suggestion I got from the "...Dummies"
book doesn't apply here.
Nonetheless, I'm going to continue to learn how to use Dreamweaver. Maybe
after my 60 days are up I'll wanna move it. Don't know.

I think this issue has already been resolved in other discussions, please review Apple Discussions more carefully before you start a new discussion. This makes it easier for people to find the "resolved" discussions when searching for the anwers, like you are.
But I'll still give you some info.
I would suggest that you sign into your iTunes Store account using a computer as mobile devices can sometimes not update the info on your iTunes Store account(all based on connection and some security features on your account). Once you sign in, click the arrow next to your email address in the upper right corner of the screen and then click "Account". In the Apple ID summary, you can click edit in the payment section and then you need to click "None" that appears. Try these steps:

(If you are not already signed in, you will need to enter your iTunes Store account name and password and then click the Account Info button to sign in.)
The Apple Account Information page will appear. On this page, click the Edit Payment Information button, which is the second button from the top.
On the Edit Payment Information page, select "None" from the list of credit card types. This will delete your billing information.
Be sure to click the Done button at the bottom of the page to save your changes.
Please note: you cant remove your credit card if have an outstanding balance without providing a new credit card or iTunes Store Gift Card(needs to process all payments before you can remove a credit card). Also, any active allowances or subscrtiptions(i think) will not allow the credit card to be removed.
Some people are not given the option to remove their credit card. This indicates a billing issue with your account. Email iTunes Store Support for assitance, but I would make sure you havn't used the iTunes Store account for a while(week) and then try again.
All Apple ID info is private, so only the accoutn owner can edit the information. I suggest that you keep trying and trying after restarting your computer and many sign in and sign outs before you give up.

How to query package info from the server repo instead of local DB?
Greetings!
Is there an option in pacman to query the package info ( like -Si ) from the server repo instead of the local package database? Or maybe some additional program is needed for this?
Update: Maybe this can be done by downloading a fresh copy of package DB with -Sy, but how to specify a custom package DB file? Is this accomplished with --dbpath option? Say
pacman -Sy --dbpath /tmp/tmpdb

Ok, after updating your original post and asking this question I understand what you are actually trying to do. The "local package database" generally refers to /var/lib/pacman/local, not /var/lib/pacman/sync, which is why it was unclear.
fakeroot pacman -Syb /tmp/tmpdb -i pcre
should do what you want, but be very careful never to install anything using that temporary database. Take a look at the checkupgrades script to see how it does things if you want to do more than just check remote package info. -
Mp3 tagging song info rename revert PROBLEM!!!
Hi guys,
I can see that there are loads of people who have the same problem as me. That is... that itunes is a mp3 tagging nightmare. The problem is simple. after editing song information in itunes. sometime later, itunes will happily revert or change the info back to the original file name or only display a portion of it. Im sure you guys know what im talking bout. Someone suggested that u edit the ID3 tags with an external program. However, what i dont understand is that, my itunes last time had no problem whatsoever displaying the correctly edited song information. Suddenly, now it decides to randomly change whatever it feels like. Also, it is extremely troublesome to externally edit the song info. The whole point of itunes is to make it convenient and simple to use. What is the point of having itunes only to have to use another program to edit the info??? I have seen numerous other threads with the same problem as me. What frustrates me is that... why is Apple not doing anything bout it? and why arent they posting any solutions or answers as to why their fantastic software is behaving like a spoilt kid. Why are there no answers. It is NOT a small program. I have about 10000 songs and countless CDs. You cannot imagine what a headache it is to have spent months and months of carefully and meticulously editing the song info in itunes to perfection, only to start it up one day and find that 5000 songs are incorrectly named.

In light of this information, wouldnt it be fair to say that WMp will only rename the files if they are physically added by the user in WMP? If i am not using WMP to play my mp3s, then why would WMP still be tracking and altering the file names? -
Spinning wheel of death is killing me. Have some info that might help.
Started occurring about a week ago. It happens whether I am running several applications or just surfing internet. Seems to get progressively worse the longer I have computer on. I usually eventually have to power off. Happens regardless of which user is logged on. Started in safe mode and no difference. Ran the disk utility and Repair Disk and everything was OK. I have included the Etrecheck below. Yesterday, I got pop-up warnings that said "Your system has run out of Application Memory". I'm still relatively new to Macs, so I would appreciate any help anyone can share. Thanks!

724 KB Page-outs1. This procedure is a diagnostic test. It changes nothing, for better or worse, and therefore will not, in itself, solve the problem. But with the aid of the test results, the solution may take a few minutes, instead of hours or days.
2. If you don't already have a current backup, back up all data before doing anything else. The backup is necessary on general principle, not because of anything in the test procedure. Backup is always a must, and when you're having any kind of trouble with the computer, you may be at higher than usual risk of losing data, whether you follow these instructions or not.
There are ways to back up a computer that isn't fully functional. Ask if you need guidance.
3. Below are instructions to run a UNIX shell script, a type of program. All it does is to collect information about the state of the computer. That information goes nowhere unless you choose to share it. However, you should be cautious about running any kind of program (not just a shell script) at the behest of a stranger. If you have doubts, search this site for other discussions in which this procedure has been followed without any report of ill effects. If you can't satisfy yourself that the instructions are safe, don't follow them. Ask for other options.
Here's a summary of what you need to do, if you choose to proceed:
☞ Copy a line of text in this window to the Clipboard.
☞ Paste into the window of another application.
☞ Wait for the test to run. It usually takes a few minutes.
☞ Paste the results, which will have been copied automatically, back into a reply on this page.
The sequence is: copy, paste, wait, paste again. You don't need to copy a second time. Details follow.
4. You may have started the computer in "safe" mode. Preferably, these steps should be taken in “normal” mode, under the conditions in which the problem is reproduced. If the system is now in safe mode and works well enough in normal mode to run the test, restart as usual. If you can only test in safe mode, do that.
5. If you have more than one user, and the one affected by the problem is not an administrator, then please run the test twice: once while logged in as the affected user, and once as an administrator. The results may be different. The user that is created automatically on a new computer when you start it for the first time is an administrator. If you can't log in as an administrator, test as the affected user. Most personal Macs have only one user, and in that case this section doesn’t apply. Don't log in as root.
6. The script is a single long line, all of which must be selected. You can accomplish this easily by triple-clicking anywhere in the line. The whole line will highlight, though you may not see all of it in the browser window, and you can then copy it. If you try to select the line by dragging across the part you can see, you won't get all of it.

Copy the selected text to the Clipboard by pressing the key combination command-C.
7. Launch the built-in Terminal application in any of the following ways:
☞ Enter the first few letters of its name into a Spotlight search. Select it in the results (it should be at the top.)
☞ In the Finder, select Go ▹ Utilities from the menu bar, or press the key combination shift-command-U. The application is in the folder that opens.
☞ Open LaunchPad. Click Utilities, then Terminal in the icon grid.
Click anywhere in the Terminal window and paste by pressing command-V. The text you pasted should vanish immediately. If it doesn't, press the return key.
8. If you see an error message in the Terminal window such as "syntax error," enter
exec bash
and press return. Then paste the script again.
9. If you're logged in as an administrator, you'll be prompted for your login password. Nothing will be displayed when you type it. You will not see the usual dots in place of typed characters. Make sure caps lock is off. Type carefully and then press return. You may get a one-time warning to be careful. If you make three failed attempts to enter the password, the test will run anyway, but it will produce less information. In most cases, the difference is not important. If you don't know the password, or if you prefer not to enter it, press the key combination control-C or just press return three times at the password prompt. Again, the script will still run.
If you're not logged in as an administrator, you won't be prompted for a password. The test will still run. It just won't do anything that requires administrator privileges.
10. The test may take a few minutes to run, depending on how many files you have and the speed of the computer. A computer that's abnormally slow may take longer to run the test. While it's running, there will be nothing in the Terminal window and no indication of progress. Wait for the line
[Process completed]
to appear. If you don't see it within half an hour or so, the test probably won't complete in a reasonable time. In that case, close the Terminal window and report the results. No harm will be done.
11. When the test is complete, quit Terminal. The results will have been copied to the Clipboard automatically. They are not shown in the Terminal window. Please don't copy anything from there. All you have to do is start a reply to this comment and then paste by pressing command-V again.
At the top of the results, there will be a line that begins with "Model Identifier." If you don't see that, but instead see a mass of gibberish, you didn't wait for the "Process completed" message to appear in the Terminal window. Please wait for it and try again.
If any private information, such as your name or email address, appears in the results, anonymize it before posting. Usually that won't be necessary.
12. When you post the results, you might see the message, "You have included content in your post that is not permitted." It means that the forum software has misidentified something in the post as a violation of the rules. If that happens, please post the test results on Pastebin, then post a link here to the page you created.
