Cark 91 and 6233, CR-56 & CA-55

Hi everyone
does anyone know how to get my 6233 to charge now that I have added a CA-55 and CR-56 to my old Cark 91. I get a message saying charger not supported!!
according to nokia the CR-56 charges the phone!!

Just to help clarify issues with the pop port charging. All pop port equipped phones (except 6630) CAN physically charge through the pop port. It is hard wired in parallel to the normal charge socket. If you plug the pop cable from the car kits, including the CA-55 adaptor, directly into the phone then charging takes place, by the way, I have tried this with nearly every single Nokia pop port equipped phone that I can think of.
The problem arises when you try to use the cradles! For some reason best known only to Nokia not all cradles give the correct information to the phone about what is plugged in! Some phones report "accesory not supported" and therefore charging is not allowed by the phone, not that it cant. A future firmware upgrade may solve this in the future. Some phones simply do not charge, this may be poor cradle design or simply a faulty cradle.
Either way its further complicated by conflicting information on the Nokia website.
If you are having problems, then plug the cable directly into the phone WITHOUT THE CRADLE to see if its charging. If it is then your issue is with the cradle not the car kit. If it reports "accessory not supported" then a firmware issue needs to be resolved. If nothing happens at all then the car kit is faulty, not wired correctly or may not be a genuine Nokia kit or cable!
I would be delighted to hear of a Nokia model that wont charge through the cable and I can check with my own if you wish but I have not come across one yet, except 6630!

Downloading contacts between Nokia 616 carkit and ...

Have paired my Motorola phone to a Nokia 616 carkit and can take and receive calls by bluetooth. Unable though to download contacts.have been through manual and followed their instructions to no avail. Get error "download failed.general error"

You need an additional application on your phone to enable it to sync with car kits, this applies to kits from other manufacturers not just nokia.
You need to scour the windows mobile forums or google as it's a windows mobile program, not a nokia program.

Nokia 610 carkit and N95

After reading all the discussions regarding problems people are having pairing and connecting the Nokia N95 with the 610 carkit, I have found a solutions that works and is tried and tested.
Here Goes.
Using a Nokia 6230i copy all your contacts onto the device and pair with the Nokia 610 carkit.
Once paied download all your contacts into user 1.
Once this has been done, disconnect and out the Sim card from the 6230i into the N95.
Now pair this device with the car kit which will work, but when asked to download your contacts, hit the red button on the dial on the car kit. THIS WILL STOP ANY ERROR MESSAGES.
Now when you pair the N95 you must pair on user 1, and when this has completed, GUESS WHAT.
YES you have all your contacts from the Nokia 6230i on the user 1 and able to use with the Nokia N95.

Found the Remote SIM feature on my N95. So that one is working. But the phone I need to work with the 610 isn't...

ISync -Nokia N80 and 6233

Does anyone know when Apple will release an update to support both these phone. It is quite anoying that after 6 months of the n80 being released it is stillnot supported. I need to sync my life

It is not Apple's duty to align on Nokia phones SW, but the other way around. This is a standard in the industry. Therefore you should ask the question "when is nokia updating the firmware of those phone to make them compatible with the mac os plateform?", and would need to address on a Nokia forum.
Otherwise, you may try to use alternative of isync. versiontracker.com may offer you few third parties SW that could solve you issue.

5800 carkit problem

After last update of my 5800 it has started to misfunction with the carkit.
Sometimes only the phone rings (not the carkit).
And when I answer (with the carkit button) there is no sound in the carkit
and I have to pick up the phone to talk (and that is illegal in Norway).
Why is this happening?

Bluetooth carkit N70

I have a built in carkit in my car radio with my former nokia th 6021 i could see my phone contacts in my blue tooth car radio, now i have the n70 , but i can not navigate through my cantacts . the carkit and the phone see each other and i can call and recieve calls but no contact list on my carkit. can any body help me with that

There was a poster a while ago, and he was advised to get the FW upgraded to the latest versions for both the Car's smart sytem, and the handset.

Nokia N73 won't pair to my Renault Carkit

Hello,
I received my new Renault Scenic today. It came with a Renault Carminat DVD Navigation system, bluetooth carkit and mp3 6cd changer.
When I tried connecting my phone to the carkit the pairing went succesfull, but after that it stopped.
I see that the carkit tries to make a connection, but instantly disconnects again.
I have 2 Nokia N73s but neither work.
How can I fix this?

Try a number of things.
Firmware for the N73 up to date?
Try the Nokia Contacts Downloader (loads of posts on this)
Delete all the pairings on both devices & restart the carkit.
On and one out-there suggestion: occasionally non-alphabetic characters in the Bluetooth device name can upset multilingual carkits. Try something simple without spaces.
Good luck.
Oh and try Remote SIM mode on in the N73. I know it "shouldn't" make a difference.....

N95 Bluetooth connection with carkit

Hi, I have just purchased a new car with included bluetooth via the radio. I have managed to pair my N95 to the car, so everytime I get in the car, the phone shows connected to my car and the radio shows connected to phone.
HOWEVER, I cannot make any calls or receive calls. When I try to make a call it tells me in the radio 'No Network'. I have called the car sales people, they told me it should work. Phoned my provider (3) and they told me its nothing to do with them, as I can actually make calls from my headset while sitting in the car.
So the problem seems to be with the car. When I switch on the remote sim access, I cannot call from the handset while the car is running. It's weird. My partner has a Nokia as well, and that works without a problem.
Any ideas anyone? I've seen lots of threads about similar issues, but no real solutions.

Manufacturer carkits have pretty bad track records connecting to phones via bluetooth. I myself had plenty of problems until I got the software on the carkit updated.
For a start, make sure you have the latest firmware for both phone and carkit. You should should then delete the pairing on both the carkit and phone and then repair. It is worth trying this a few times if it still doesn't work. I did this about 5 times before it finally worked and has been working since, touch wood.

Symbian 60 and nokia 5300

what does this mean

CK-7W and 6230i only connects via bluetooth

I have installed the carkit ck-7w and the phoneholder MBC-15S, but the only way my phone will connect to the carkit is via the bluetooth. When I put the phone in the holder (MBC-15S and the datacable)it starts charging but doesn't route the microphone or speaker to the carkit. The symbol that indicates a connection to the carkit (the symbol of a little car) does not appear. I have tried to replace the headunit of the carkit and the datacable, but without success. I also assume that the holder (MBC-15S) is not the problem because the problem is still there when the datacable is connected directly into the 6230i. Replacing the phone with an identical 6230i itself doesn't resolve anything, so I assume the 6230i isn't the source of the problem.
Does anyone know a solution to this problem?
Have anyone experienced a similar scenario?
Could it be a software issue regarding the 6230i?

Hi! Just wanted to share the solution to my previously described problem.
It turned out that the CK-7W carkit wouldn't work properly as a result of an extension CAT-5 cable. During the installation ut turned out that the cable that runs from the phoneholder (MBC-15S) to the CK-7W was too short, so I decided to use an extension cable. The extension cable was an ordinary CAT-5 cable with 8P8C plugs in both ends, approximatly 50 cm long, connected to a free standing socket witch allows a 8P8C plug to inserted in both ends, making it possible to plug the male ends from the original datacable to the aftermarket CAT-5 plug(8P8C plug) together.
I removed the CAT-5 cable and used only the original datacable and the problem was solved.
I tested the CAT-5 cable and the free standing socket in a computer and everyting worked fine. So I guess there was nothing wrong with my aftermarket cable equipment.

CK-300 and N8

I have a CK 300 carkit and i use Car Menu v5.0 with my N8.
The general functionality is fine, however there are 2 glitches that i would like to know whether there is a fix for.
1. The backlight is constantly on, despite me changing the option in settings.
2. The profile switches to general and stays on that even after disconnection. It ignores my request for it to switch to a different profile through the accessories setting on the phone.
Any help anyone has to one or both these issues, will be greatly received. Thanks

Ck-7w carkit wont switch off radio

I have a ck-7w carkit which as been working fine , the battery went dead on my wagon and since then my carkit doest work correctly, i have lost my instruction booklet to see if there is something i am doing wrong. The carkit and phone pair up no problems but when i ring the phone i can accept on the carkit button but the radio/cd continues the person who is on the other end of the line can hear me talking ok but i cant hear them. Is there something im missing ?

The mute has somehow disconnected.
Best thing would be to have a profesional installer check this for you.

Infrared connectivity -- 6610i to 6233

I have a 6610i and 6233 phiones. i would like to transfer data between these phones. I tried the infrared option but these done seem to detect each other. how do i go about setting this up.

6610i, are you sure it is compliant with ca-42, check nokia web pages for 6610i ?

Just select all contacts you want to move to your carkit and "beam" it instead of trying to transfer your phonebook.
For some reason when I try to transfer contacts and hit the start button it will automatically disconnect for some strange reason so I just tried beaming all contacts and it worked. Just remember to have your phone registered with the carkit.
