Carkit 112 passcode

Hi all i have just bought a land rover discovery and it has the car kit 112 fitted. it is asking for a pass code but i dont have it. i have been told that the last four digits of the serial number on the brain but i dont know where this is located.
can anyone help please.

The last four digits of the serial number is the code number. Try looking in the fuse compartment under steering wheel or under the glove box, there is not many hiding places on a Discovery so it will be in one of these locations.

  • CARK-112 lost passcode

I'm trying to pair with a CARK-112 that I've had (but not used) for a few years. However I'm falling at the first hurdle, since I've lost the manual and can't find a download version. Immediate problem is that I don't know the passcode. I've tried 0000 but it doesn't work.
I understand that the default passcode on this model may not be 0000, but some digits from the serial number on the unit. Is this correct? Is there any way to obtain or reset this, since I have absolutely no idea how to open up my dashboard to find the unit!

If you need details of a proffesional engineer in your area please let me know, i am sure they would do this sort of job for some beer tokens rather then paying a garage who dos'nt know what they are looking for.
    Good luck.

  • Problem connecting a 6310i to a CARK-112 car kit

    Hi,
I'm trying to connect a 6310i to my CARK-112 car kit.
The Nokia phone detects the car kit as "Carkit 112" but when I hit select to pair with it I do not get the option to enter a passcode, instead it displays "device not available"
The car is secondhand and had the car kit previously fitted, I have located the brain and have the appropriate 4 digit passcode.
Anyone done it or can help me?
    John.

It sounds like the cark-112 has all the connections full, you will need to reset the car kit. Press and hold the buttom for 5 seconds and you should hear a long bleep. Try this with ignition off.

  • Carkit 112 problems - help please!

got a new car, a new shape bmw 328 coupe
it already has installed a nokia carkit 112 bluetooth handsfree device
problem being, the previous owner doesn't know the password so i can pair the device with my phone when i get in the car
my phone picks it up fine, but when asked to enter a password it rejects every 'obvious' one like 0000,1111 etc
i then took the dash apart to find the box, as i was told the last 4 digits of the serial number should be the pin, so i found the box
problem being there are quite a few numbers on it, and when i tried entering the last 4 digits from them none seemed to work
can someone confirm exactly what is my serial number on the box, as it contains several strains of information, whether the pin/code will have letters in it as well and what my pin should be?
also, is it possible the previous owner changed the pin and thats why it isn't pairing? or is that not possible on this device? i didn't get any manuals for it so not sure if you can change it yourself?
is there any way of resetting the pin?
otherwise it looks like im stuck with the kit in the car and its of no use to me as i just can't for the life of me get a pin number to work with it
image of the box with information is hosted at the following address:

hi, i also have carkit 112 and have lost the manual and passcode. I have bought new phone Nokia N81. Reset and tried 0000 and 1234 and no luck. Can't find main junction box only speaker box having removed various panels in my toyota yaris. Garage will charge me £40 to find box and serial no. My new phone finds the carkit but just says unable to pair with this device. I also put in 0135, 1226, 3711 and 1016 which you suggested before. Any other suggestions before I return to garage option.

  • N95Gb & Carkit 112

For all those old skool bluetooth kit users, Carkit 112 (HFW-5) is compatible with the N95 8Gb.
Voice dialing doesn't work - seems to drop out before completing the dial, but everything else works.
Funny, but that car kit has worked with EVERY bluetooth phone I have tried. Wish I could say the same about the SonyEricsson & Motorola rubbish.

    Hi luggy69
You are looking for 2nd group of 9 digits and last 4 digits are PIN code on the HFW-1 which will be under the dashboard. If you look at remote button CUW-2 on dash as per screenshot here: http://i56.tinypic.com/28ridyw.jpg it's only going to be a short distance away.

  • Help - Carkit 112

Hi all, I'm a new member here, we've just bought a Toyota Avensis estate, it has the 112 handsfree wired in, we haven't a clue as to the passkey, our N95 picks up the handsfree but obviously without being able to pair it we cant get it to work. I've tried just about combination of 4 digit's that I can think of and have read lots of threads which say the code is on a sticker on the 'brain' but we can't find the 'brain', tried following the wire from the speaker, which is under the glove box but to no avail, anyone have any ideas where it might be located, is there a 'normal' location on the Avensis?
Failing location, is there any other way of pairing?
Really appreciate any help and huge thanks in advance
    S

there is no other way of finding this code, you will hve to find the main junction box and read the last four numbers of the serial number. try looking under the glove box, there is a panel that just clips off, or try behind the carpet of the center tunnel. You could rmove the glove box by removing the screw on the gas strut to the left then just pulling the glove box out, its only heald in by two clips on the bottom. If all else fails you will have to find an engineer. Good lllluck

  • Carkit112 - no passcode

Hi folks, I've got a Nokia carkit 112 installed in my car, and I'm afraid I don't have the manual or original packaging.
I've heard that, for the Nokia car kits, the bluetooth passcode is the last four digits of the serial number - however, I've had a look on the speaker box and tried all combinations of the numbers that I've found on there, but all to no avail.
Does anyone know of a way to find out the bluetooth pass code? The last thing I want to have to do is rip out the old car kit to have to replace it with a new one.
    Any help gratefully received.
    -Russ

Its not the speaker box you want, its the box that the speaker connects to! Try 0000 before you find the box though as this is often the default code.

  • CK 200 external microphone

Hi have just replaced my old CARK 112 car kit with a nice new CK 200 kit, have updated the software just a couple of days ago and the new CK 200 works fine apart from people on the other end of the phone are saying they can hardly hear me.
The microphone which came and worked perfectly with the CARK 112 has been plugged into the new CK 200 system but appears not to work, the microphone built into the CK 200 display unit seems to be the one being used, but due to its location its not picking up my voice very well.
Should the old microphone be able to work with the CK200 system or would the problem be a newer model external mic may be required.
If a new external mic is installed will the CK 200's control box automatically start using the external mic or will some of the CK 200's settings have to be changed, if so how do you go about changing the settings to use an external mic.
Also is it possible to easily get hold of replacement sticky pads for the Display Panel mount and  push button as these need to be moved slightly.
    Thanks!

Hi and thanks for the quick reply.
When you say "This can be accessed by keeping the power key pressed down for approximately 10 seconds when the car kit is powered on and in standby mode (no phones connected)."
I am presuming you mean the power switch on top of the display unit, have tried this a couple of times now and it just seems to turn the display unit off, not take me to an installation menu.
There were no phones connected at the time as advised, any Idea where im going wrong?
    Thanks

  • C3-00 Failed bluetooth connection

After quite a bit of fiddling around , I successfully got my C3 to connect reliably via Bluetooth and sync with Ovi. It's been working well for about a month ?
I connected tonight and performed a sync and backup. Closed OVI..all looked good. A while later I wanted to re connect and the bluetooth connection failed saying the pairing needed to be  ' updated ' ? I wasn't sure what that meant , so I thought I would delete the pairing and re ad it.
When I try to do that  via the phone , my computer shows up but when I try to ad it as a paired device , it fails.
If I scan using the computer , the phone also appears in the bluetooth list , but when I try do connect I receive a 'generic ' error msg:
Adding the device failed due to an authentication error. It might be due to the use of an incorrect pairing code......"
I don't see a prompt to enter a pairing code ( as I did originally when I first connected successfully ). Not sure what to try next ? Will restoring my back also restore my pairing ,  or do I need to do a reset and start from scratch ?
    TIA

The cark-112 is just a bluetooth car kit and will not support any accessories.
The only car kit that would support additional handset was cark-91.

  • CU-7 and CUW-2 Car Kit Buttons

I am upgrading my CARK-112 to CK-7W to support my N95 8Gb. Was led to believe that all of the CARK-112 accessories would simply plug into the CK-7W. Have now discovered that the button (CUW-2) in the CARK-112 terminates with an RJ45 whilst the CK-7W socket for the button is an RJ11. Question therefore is "are the pin assignments for the two plugs the same and therefore is it simply a case of replacing the RJ45 plug with an RJ11? If not then what are pin assignments of the two connectors so I can rewire it correctly?"
    Many thanks

If you hold the button down for 5 seconds it should switch off.
The problem here is that the kit has been installed with the blue ignition sense wire connected to a permanent live.
If you want an installer to look at it and correct this so it works properly then you can enter your postcode here on the Nokia site and find your nearest accredited installer.
It should be a simple fix.

  • N73 paired devices keep asking for passcode

    Hello all,
Everytime when a paired bluetooth device tries to connect to my Nokia N73, the phone asks for the Passcode (0000). It even happens when I authorize those paired devices.
    I use these BT devices:
    - Nokia BT carkit
    - Tom Tom Go 710
    - SE Bluetooth headset
My 'good old' 6310 works just fine with those devices.
Could somebody tell me if this is a know bug or how to fix this?
    Thanks in advance!
    Best regards,
    Joost Willemsen

Is the N73 phone software (firmware) up to date (whatever is the latest version that's available)?
    http://www.nokia.com/softwareupdate
In any case, the behaviour is not normal; the passcode should only be required once when pairing (and then it is discarded - not needed any longer for anything - as the encryption/decryption keys for the connection between the paired devices have been generated and saved on both paired devices).

  • CK-7W passcode

I have just bought a jeep with a CK-7W carkit already installed. When I attempt to pair my Nokia phone via bluetooth I'm asked for a passcode. The car kit rejects '0000'. Is there any way I can reset the carkit passcode to factory settings

Try resetting the kit by holding the nokia button down till you hear a long bleep, this will wipe all existing pairings and make way for new paired devices.

How can I setup a mail-specific passcode/restriction on iPad used by multiple family members?
Have an Exchange mail account setup and accessible in my mail on iPad... however my kids use it and i would like to restrict them from accessing this specific portion of the device.  I tried viewing restriction options and do not see that i can apply a restriction specifically to Mail.  Thanks for your help.

Not a feature of iOS. Check the AppStore to see if there are other
mail apps that allow passcode protection.
Or use Safari to log onto your email via a web-based interface and
enter your credentials each time. A bit slower, but the kids will
not know the details to login.
