Carrier logo sometimes shows as 000-00 and loses signal

Hiya,
My girlfriends iphone 5 sometimes loses all signal and the carrier shows as 000-00 rather than EE. Regardless of signal in the area, the only way to get a signal back is to restart the phone!
The phones not jailbroken or anything and is only about a month old. Its running the latest iOS.
Any ideas?

No I don't think its necessarily because of the 4G rollout.
My iPhone5 has a Orange/EE 3G sim card and contract.
This is what my theory is...
My iPhone5 is set to automatically select the best network. It can see the 4G EE network is available, but when it connects via my 3G sim card it glitches / nullifies the signal and just reports that weird 000-00.
Ever since I turned off 4G / LTE in settings I have not had the 000-00 error.
So now it isn't getting confused with 4G and 3G signals, it doesn't give the error.
So my theory is supported by my experience.
Out of curiosity, is everyone who is having this problem absoloutely sure they have 4G sims??? I got my iPhone on release day, as a new contract, assumed it was 4G and only found out after a customer service phonecall much later that infact the new contract I had taken out was only a 3G one despite it being a brand new contract with an iPhone5 (yet that was one of the selling points by Orange / EE.)

HT1476 I can't tell if my ipod touch 3rd gen is really charging. I have it plugged in, but it will sometimes show the charging icon and then it won't respond to anything. I ddon't know if you need itunes to be on your computer to charge it.

Ok, so I plug in my touch 3rd gen and I can't tell if it is really charging. It doesn't seem like it is. I can only see the charging icon sometimes, and then after the icon goes away, the ipod won't respond! I'm not sure what to do. Than I thought the USB port was messed up because it doesn't always work, but I plugged it into a diferent port and it said on the ipod, charging isn't supported with this accessory.

Place the iOS device in Recovery Mode and then connect to your computer and restore via iTunes. The iPod will be erased.
iOS: Forgot passcode or device disabled
If recovery mode does not work try DFU mode.

If you restore from iCloud backup the apps will be automatically downloaded. If you restore from iTunes backup the apps and music have to be in the iTunes library since synced media like apps and music are not included in the backup of the iOS device that iTunes makes.

Keynote slide show restarts the computer and loses the show!

About every other time I play the slideshow I'm working on in Keynote, iWork '09, just installed today, it makes the whole computer restart, and I lose anything I haven't saved!!! How can I avoid this??

If you have contacts turned on in Settings>iCloud and you don't see your contacts on icloud.com, open the contacts app on your phone and tap groups. Do you have any non-iCloud groups/accounts such as On My iPhone, Gmail, Yahoo or an exchange account?
Also go to Settings>Mail,Contacts,Calendars>Default Account (in the Contacts section). Do you have the "Default Account" setting showing there, and if so, what have you set as your default account?

Additional things to try.
Try this first. Turn Off your iPad. Then turn Off (disconnect power cord for 30 seconds or longer) the wireless router & then back On. Now boot your iPad. Hopefully it will see the WiFi.
Go to Settings>Wi-Fi and turn Off. Then while at Settings>Wi-Fi, turn back On and chose a Network.

Another thing to try - Go into your router security settings and change from WEP to WPA with AES.

Note - When troubleshooting wifi connection problems, don't hold your iPad by hand. There have been a few reports that holding the iPad by hand, seems to attenuate the wifi signal.

Okay, so I think I managed to fix this issue. For anyone having the same problem, I learned that you don't have to have the same Apple ID for iTunes as you do for the other things on the phone---I didn't realize there were separate logins. Helpful.
So I created an ID for my husband's phone. I logged into iCloud and FaceTime with that account. After doing so, the settings in Messages actually changed to look more like the ones I was seeing on my phone. So I then logged into iMessage with his new account (that option to log in was not even showing before!).
The Apple ID for iTunes is still appearing as the shared one, so we can hopefully still have joint use of our purchased items.
We shall see if it works when it comes time to receive a message or download an already purchased app, but it's looking promising

Brand new apple tv not working. when i turn it on, the apple symbol shows up for a few seconds and then signal is lost but power on the apple tv stays on. i've reset and unplugged several times but same thing happens.

i hooked it up with hdmi cable - doubled checked all connections - connected power cord - set tv to HDMI input - the apple tv comes on and the apple logo shows up - after about 2 seconds signal is lost from the apple tv - the tv screen displays "no signal" - the power light on the apple tv remains on - i've reset and restarted but the same thing keeps happen - the logo shows up then disappears and all signal is lost to the tv

I'm sure I will be calling AppleCare, but the problem is, they charge for the phone calls don't they? Because I don't have money to be spending to be on the phone with a support service.
In other things, it seemed like the only time my MacBook was working was when I had Snow Leopard without the 10.6.8 update download that was supposed to be done to prepare for OS X Lion.
When I look at the information of my HD it says that I have 10.6.8 but that was the install that it claimed to have failed and caused me to restart resulting in all of the repeated problems.
Also, because my computer is currently down, and I've lost all files how would that effect the use of my iPhone? Because if it doesn't get fixed by the time OS 5 is released, how would I be able to upgrade?!

HP Prime crashes while using CAS and loses stored variables

As the title suggests I'm experiencing some problems while using CAS whit my new Prime (it arrived 3 days ago). While doing operations like scrolling up the screen and copying/pasting things, or simply defining new variables it happens that the prime crashes (sometimes it also restart itself) and loses all the variables I've stored.
The prime is running the latest FW (6030). I've also noticed that after the firmware upgrade the DataStreamer icon in the app library has became grey and an exclamation mark appears when I try to start it.
Any help or suggestion would be great.

I have only a little experience with Primes RPN.
It does seem that for user variable, you do need to first create them before storing anything to them. a ENTER OK creates user variable a and puts a 0 on stack 1:
123 ENTER, 'a' ENTER, Shift Sto> or 123_'a'_Shift Sto> ( _ = space key) store 123 in a and put 123 on stack 1:

Carrier logo and signal bar dissappeared

Hi,
My carrier just got LTE support for iPhone 5 and I received updated carrier settings on my iPhone. As soon as they were installed so that it says "Enable LTE" instead of "Enable 3G", my whole status bar on the left side disappeared.
No Carrier logo, but much worse, no signal bar or wifi bar. But I do have signal... When I switch on "do not disturb" they appear again but disappear as soon as do not disturb is switched off again. So I can browse and call etc, but the status bar is just missing...
If anyone has any advice, please help! I tried resetting the phone, as well as switching it off and on again. More than once. No change.
I even restored my phone from a backup I made yesterday before the network settings have been updated.
I would be very grateful for any help.

Standard troubleshooting...
Try a reset by pressing the home and sleep buttons until you see the Apple logo, ignoring the slider if, it comes up. Takes about 5-15 secs of button holding and you won't lose any data or settings.
Remove all apps from Recently Used list...
- From any Home Screen, double tap the home button to bring up the Recents List
- Tap and hold any icon in this list until they wiggle
- Press the red (-) to delete all apps from this list.
- Press the home button twice when done.
If still a problem restore with your backup.
If still a problem restore as new, i.e. without your backup. See how it runs with nothing synced to it.
If still a problem, it's likely a hardware issue.

Hi Andis.
First of all, this is completely normal behavior, although it's a bit irritating, I know. What happens is that when you close Firefox, despite the window disappearing right there and then, Firefox keeps running for a little bit until the whole closing procedure is completed. This can take a fraction of a second on fast computers, or can take a few seconds on slow computers or when Firefox is storing a large session (if you save your tabs). All you have to do is wait a bit until Firefox closes, and then open it again.
To see if it's still running, you can press CTRL+SHIFT+ESC and then, under the Processes tab, you can see if firefox.exe is still there. If it's taking an unusual amount of time to close (which happens very rarely, and only if the browser freezes on exit), you can force the application to terminate from this application (task manager).
Firefox 4.0 will reduce by 97% the time it takes firefox.exe to close, so this problem will be basically erased for Firefox's next version.
Until then, I can recommend you this extension, which helps you restart your browser more easily and without bothering about closing times:

Make sure you have the Current Version of iTunes Installed on your computer
