Carrier updates for ipad2 on Vodafone. Anybody know know what changes of any??
It's not a matter of finding problems with a specific version of OS, it's just that BlackBerry releases them all the time and perhaps Vodafone took longer than expected testing 10.2.1.2122 and therefore it delayed its release. The newer update might not have taken nearly as long and that's why you're seeing it right on top of the previous one.

Yes, I know... I discovered now that I have saved the photos I wanted from it long time ago (for the same reasons, i didn't wanted to lose them). So I'm kind of saved. Also it has been like crap because the laptop where I had my backups is as dead as can be. That was the moment when I panicked. From now on... I'll back-up it everyday. Thank you a lot!

Carrier update for the iphone??
This morning my iphone noted that a carrier update was available? Anyone know what this does? I am so sick of the secrecy that goes on with this sort of thing!!! Maybe I'm just weird, but I'd like to know what something someone does BEFORE I agree to have it done.

Did you try contacting VZ for an answer to this? Since we aren't employees (excluding the few times an employee does respond in these threads) we know about as much as you do to the specifics of this update. Doesn't mean that a straight answer isn't being given...if the question was never asked in the right place. Calm down...if call VZ and no one can tell you anything clearer (tech support I would assume...the regular reps may have no idea) then you can become upset. Otherwise, making comments about the "ignorant masses" (which you are currently a part of...not a dig. A fact until you can prove you know more than everyone else on the subject) is a bit over the top until you actually dig further than this forum or Google and ask the company directly... -
Have problem with "Check for Updates" for iTunes or accessing iTunes stores. Called Apple support locally in Singapore who couldnt help resolve the problem and was directed to helpdesk in Norway but after hours on the phone, they still could not solve the problem. They are also referring solutions from iTunes support FAQs to go through the problem I encountered. In the end, they said will escalate the matter to next level and will contact me back but they never did. Other error message include "A program caused iTunes to stop working..."
I am using a SONY Vaio with Windows 8. Current iTunes version is 11.1.3.8. Disappointed with Apple Support. I was able to do backup with itunes though. Appreciate anyone who encountered similar problem to share the solution. Thanks.I got the same error but I think I know what's wrong with my situation. My iPhone 4 is programmed for a CDMA carrier that Apple doesn't support. I have limited ability with the phone... but I still love it.

When i connect my ipad2 to iTune, it show "iTunes could not check for an update to the carrier settings for your iPad. An unknown error occured (1651)". What should i do to solve this problem? My iTune version is 10.1.4.10 and my ipad is 4.3.5.

When I tried to sync my 4G iphone factory unlocked to iTunes I got this message "An update to the carrier settings for your iPhone is available. Would you like to download it now?" Should I hit "Download and Update"? or "Learn More" ?
I have a factory unlocked iPhone 3GS (eg: purchased from Apple). I received the same message at some point and eventually (after reading a bit more) accepted "Download and Update". No problem. No apparent bad effects. It just seems to update things specific to the carrier (Bell Mobility in my case).

Just switched from H20 to T Mobile. For some reason I am only picking up 2G instead of 4G Network on this phone. Is there a way to get a carrier update to fix this? I have other T Mo devices at same location and they are all picking up 4G service

Carrier Settings are dependent entirely on your carrier. 2G is old outdated and slow etc, most carriers are phasing out their 2G service. You would need to ask your carrier when they plan on releasing a new update.
Why on earth do you want to set your iPhone to 2G? It will automatically switch to 2G if 3G is not available, and 2G is found. -

In using it, I found out other's have had this issue and it likely means you have a 3G iPad? If you do, go into settings and turn off cellular data, then try to update again and you should be OK........ -

If your phone is factory unlocked, or officially unlocked by your carrier, updating will NOT re-lock the phone. If it was unlocke by unauthorized methods, any update or restore will re-lock it.
