  • Customer line items with balance carry forward no opening balance

    Hello FI Experts,
We have ticket where the user is using a Z* Report for Customer line items with balance carry forward. In 31.01.2007 user has posted some legacy data, latter he was executing this Z* report then user can see the values posted on the same day (31.01.2007) as line items. But he was executing the report on 01.02.2007 then he was not able to see the line item as well as the values posted on 31.01.2007 as opening balance as on 01.02.2007. But if we run the report as on 01.01.2008 then we are able to see the values which are carry forwarded as opening balances. Did anyone have worked on this type of scenario?
Requirement Here Is:  The values that have been posted on 31.03.2007 which are still open line items should get displayed as opening balance as on 01.02.2007.
Thanks for helping on this issue.

    Hi,
Any report will get data from Tables. Please check whether the table you have used to develop this report has opening balance.
Balance will be carry forwarded only when you run the balance carry forward program. Check whether this was run for the date you have specified. This can be done in the year end.
If you are checking in the middle of the year, then the balance will not be carry forwarded.

  • Carry forwarding the closing  balance as opening balance

    hi,
i need  to carry forward the closing balance of the 1 month to the opening balance of the next month. how to do this in the query.?

    Hi Enthu,
I think, you could use data function of a formula.
You will have to create a RKF for closing balance of previous month.
Try the SUMCT<Closing balance of prev per> in the opening balance column of this month.
You can check the link below for further information
    http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw70/helpdata/en/e3/e60138fede083de10000009b38f8cf/frameset.htm
However, determining all opening balances by carrying forward closing balances in the query, I think, is not a good idea, since this would mean that you have to run the query from the timepoint the data was first reported. This means querying and reporting a lot of data. I would rather suggest you to have another Cube may be over this DSO and do the carry forward in modeling.
    Hope it helps,
    Best regards,
    Sunmit.

  • Carry forward profit center balance- 2KES & 2KET

    Hi,
can any one pls specify the difference betweem 2KES & 2KET relating to profit center balances carry forward,  and also path for 2KET.
    thank you.

    Hi
2KET specifies whether the balances can be carried forward or not in PCA.Balance C/F is optional in PCA so if you decide of C/F the balance we first need to select C/F allowed radio button in 2KET.After this is done we need to execute 2KES to actually C/F the balances
Path for 2KET is SPRO>Controlling>Profit center accounting>basic settings>balance Carry forward-->Allow balance to be carried forward.

    Last Year                    utilized              Balance

It should be as above.  but it is not happening.  I have checked Quota Generation Config steps.  I found everything is OK.
Second problem is i kept Max Limit of the quota 90.  but sometimes it is showing on the payslib beyond 90 i.e. 110.
The above 2 problems i am facing.  in my TM04 schema 2 Pcrs for Quota Balance and carryforward are there.  But i could not understand whether the PCRs are correct or not.
Could any one please help me.  Its very urgent.  It has been a bigger problem,  without which we can not do FF settlements to the Employees and Encashments of ELs.  Your early response is highly appreciated.

  • Balance carried forward for New GL

    Hi Expert,
I would like understand about the balance carried forward for AP and AR in the New GL.
When executing the program in test run mode, user will download the balances and try to tie to the recon accts in trial balance. The openning balance generated by the program should tie to the last fiscal year closing balance. But apparently, it is not. There is a difference. And after checking, the difference seem to the opening balance that aready exist in the new FY.
So, when executing the carried forward program, is the system transferring only the difference ? New posting or items not yet carried forward ?
    Thanks.
    Angel.

    Hi,
FAGLGVTR - Balance Carryforward (New)  for GL carry forward
F.07 - Balance Carryforward for AR/AP carry forward
When you execute these programs system will carryforward all closing balance to subsequent year opening balance.  Any postings happened in previous year will dynamically carried forward to subsequent year after executing this program.  If you find any mismatch, you can again execute this program.  It will not create any impact.
    Hope this clarifies your doubt.
    Best Regards,

  • How to Carry Forward Beginning Balances for CTA

    Hi Experts,
We're doing a multi-currency AppSet wherein I need to carry forward the ending balances of the cumulative translation adjustment to it's beginning balance the next year but the problem is:
    1. CTA resides only in USD reporting currency(not in LC).
    2. My carry forward rules applies only to local currency. I've tried to include USD but when I run the default formula wherein I've included my currency conversion rule, the beginning balance for CTA zero out. I've tried removing the ratetype on CTA, replace it with blank, AS_IS,NOTRANS so as not to translate that account since it will be converting from a blank opening balace in LC(since CTA is only calculated in USD) to USD so it's reasonable that it would zero out, but still it's trnaslated.
Any idea how to work this out?
    Thanks,
    Marvin

    Hi Marvin,
Set your CTA account ratetype to something like "HISTX" or whatever you want, add this ratetype to RATE dimension and in your business rule, set this rate type to [AS_IS].
We use it here and it works.
    Thanks,

  • Balance Leaves to be carried forward to next year

    HI Experts,
I am using Time evualation with -ve time , i want to carry fwd all the balance leaves left for the year to the next year.
I have set the "Permit Quota Generation in Time Evaluation" node to "Increase". However i am not able to meet the requirement. Please let me know if i have to maintain any other table or should i have to write PCR for this
    Regards
    Kanna

You have to write Pcr's for reading the balances and to carry forward the Leaves to quotas.
    PCR for Reading Balances.
    hrs= Bcurmo
hrs?(specify the month on which it has to read the balance)
        =
           hrs=Bcurdy
hrs?(Last day on/after which it has to read the balance)
           =
           OUTAQTYP
            XX (XX:Mention Absence Type)
            hrs=FR C
            addMBXXXX(Time type 4-digit)z
_PCR for Carry forwarding the Leaves.
    hrs= Bcurmo
hrs?(specify the month on which it has to get the balance)
        =
           hrs=Bcurdy
hrs?(Starting day to get the balance)
           =
hrs=Mxxxx(Time type which we maintained in above PCR
updtqAxx(Absence which it has to carry forward)
    Where
    A-Syntax
    B-Syntax
    curmo-Current Month
    curdy-Current Day
    F-Syntax
    R-Remaining
    C -Syntax
    MB-Monthly Balance
    z-Replacing Value.

  • Problem after balance carry forward with t-code: FAGLGVTR

    Hi,
I have run that t-code: FAGLGVTR for balance carry forward. Balance transferred correct according to GL Account but when I run t-code u201CS_ALR_87012082u201D for vendor balance for respective recon GL code its show difference. Please let me know how I am make it OK.
    Thanks & Regards,
    Hemant Maurya

    Hi hemant,
There might be some differences between Recon Gl account & individual vendor balances, this is because when you do the FAGLGVTR & after dat again if u post some open invoices then in Recon.Gl account, balances will get automatically updated but not in vendor balances so what you have to do is RUN F.08 again & carry forward the vendor balances then only both these will be on same platform.
    Thanks & Regards

  • Year end closing (Balance carried forward

    Hi
Please help.  Our company did not do a year close on debtors and vendors.  I realised it now with certain debtors, that their closing balance (June 2006) do not agree to the opening balance (July 2006).
Can one do a closing on the sub-ledger (Debtors & Vendors) as well as for the GL.  What affects will it be having on our books or is it save to do it.

    Hi Theo,
There is probably nothing much you can do to bring the balances to what it should have been by end of June as some debtors would probably have paid amount owed before June 2006 and you may have paid some Creditors too.
Your best bet is to still go ahead and carry out the year end closure of all the various <b>sub-ledgers</b> that has not been done. Once you've completed this, you may then want to embark on a reconciliation process to determine the exact balances as at June 2006 by analysing all payments received from Debtors to see which ones relates to prior 30 June 2006 and adding these back to get the correct figures as at end of June 2006. You would have to do the same for all Vendor payments you have made.
Just to be sure you have not left out anything from your year-end processes, the following would be very useful and handy as a guide. (Though some of them may not be applicable to your organisation)
    1. <b>CJCF</b> - Carry Forward Commitments For WBS Elements
    2. <b>CJCO</b> - Carry Forward Budgets For WBS Elements
    3. <b>IM27</b> - Carry Forward IM Budget
    4. <b>F.07</b> - Execute AP/AR Carry Forward
    5. <b>ABST2</b> - Reconcile FI-AA Ledger
    6. <b>AJRW</b> - AM Fiscal Year Change
    7. <b>OAAQ</b> - Check Last Fiscal Year Closed
    8. <b>AJAB</b> - AM Year End Closing
    9. <b>F.16</b> - Execute FI Year-End Roll-Over
    10. <b>FS10N</b> - Check G/L Opening Balances
    11. <b>GJ10</b> - Execute JVA Year-End Roll-Over
    12. <b>GVTR</b> - Execute Special Purpose Ledger Year-End Roll-Over
    13. <b>2KES</b> - Profit Center:Carry Forward of Actual Balance
    14. <b>OKP1</b> - Close All Periods in Old Fiscal Year For CO
    15. <b>KSCF</b> - Cost Centers Carry Forward

    I hope the above helps.

  • Carry Balance forward

    Hi All,
We just started our new Fiscal year, and we are carrying the balances forward.  We ran F.07, and selected the new fiscal year and checked both Select Customer and Vendors.  Then when i went to check the Account balance for the AR account (121000), I see a value of only 34,441 as the Balance carry forward under *** Balance.  Now when i double click on that value it gives me line items.  In that drill down report I see the correct amount of 8,144,292.83.  The same problem happens on the Vendor side just different amounts.  Does anyone have any idea why this is happening?
    Thanks,
    Rashad

    Hi Rashad,
Before we discuss the problem further, I would like to share the program logic by SAP:
This program calculates the balance carried forward for customers and/or vendors.
The balances of the previous year are carried forward to the new year. If the account has not yet been posted in the new year and no balance carried forward has been carried out for this account, the account is opened inthe new year with the 1st balance carried forward; otherwise, the balance carried forward of the account is stored in the new year if changes result.
When posting into a previous year, the system carries forward the balance automatically. This is independent of whether the program has already run or not. "posting to a previous year" means that the posting date of the document has an earlier year than the entry date. This automatic carrying forward also occurs accumulatively over several years that means a posting in January 1993 with the posting date December 1991 changes the balance carried forward for 1992 and 1993.
SAP recommends that the program is run at the beginning of the new fiscal year. If the program is already run at the end of the last fiscal year, postings which are posted after this to the last fiscal year, do not result in automatic adjustment of the balance carried forward because it is not a "posting to a previous year". In such a case, it is necessary t let the program run again after these postings to carry forward the postings entered later.
The program can be started as often as desired.
Nevertheless, you can post to the new year if the program has not yet run. When posting, the accounts, however, with a balance carried forward of greater than zero are opened. Postings in the previous year do increase this balance carried forward, but do not carry forward the total of the items already posted in the old year to the new year; the balance carried forward only has the items posted by the new year into the previous year, but not the items posted in the previous year itself.
Please go through the same and let me know what problems you are facing.
    Rgds
