'Carry-out Mass changes in Equipment/Functional Locations

Dear Experts,
Through one SCN thread, I came to know that there is a functionality namely 'Carry-out Mass changes' in the GOTO menu in the List editing ALV screens of Equipment/Functional Locations (IE05, IH08, IH06 etc)
But, I am not able to find any such (Carry out mass changes) function in any of the menu items in IE05, IH08, IH06 etc.
Can someone help clear this situation.

Please check in transaction SFW5 below business function activated or not.If not please do so.
Business Function LOG_EAM_CI_1
Business function LOG_EAM_CI_2
Also Check if Enhancement Package 2 is applied. if not please do so.
Additionally you need to have authorization for authorization object I_MASS.

ABC Indicator for Equipment & Functional Location Same or Different

Hi All,
We can find ABC indicators in both Equipment & Functional Location (FL) master data.
Q. Please tell me....whether these fields are different for Equipment & FL or same??
Problem is that I could see the same field name ABCKZ for both Equipment & FL in tables V_EQUI & ILOA respectively.

*The ABC indicator can be entered in equipment as well as functional locations.*
An indicator that is assigned by the procedure of ABC analysis.
The following ABC indicators are possible:
A - Important
B - Less important
C - Relatively unimportant
According to these criteria, "A" materials are those materials that are of greatest importance for the production operations of a company.
Examples of use for ABC indicators are vendor master records, material master records, and master records of *technical objects.*
So ABC indicator is same for equipments and Functional LocationBUT value may be diferent

FM for changing address in functional location

Hi all
I wanted to change address in functional locations in my report, but I don't know any function modul for this. I've found BAPI_FUNCLOC_CHANGE, but it's not possible to change address data with it. Normaly it's done through IL02 transaction. I would be grateful for any help.

If you go to transaction IL02 and on tab Location you push pencil button, than on new window you can change some of address data but not all that are storred in ADRC table. For example you can change street name or city name, but there is no place that you could enter city code or street code. So if this is not possible to enter these values in this transaction it is not possible to run this transaction from report with BCD data so that street code and city code were changed in ADRC table.

Change pointer for functional location- deletion flag & activation status

Hello,
Im trying to use change pointer for functional location outbound interface. I did all required settings in BD52. The problem is with deletion flag and acive/deactive status.
I found that those two are stored in:
table     field
TAPL     LOEKZ
TAPL     PARKZ
The problem I have is that I cannot find the object for those table, and due to that it cannot be customized in BD52.
Could You please advise which object class should I use or alternatively which other table/field and object should I type in to activate change poiters for deletion flag and active/ not active status?
For object IFLO, and its table (IFLOT, IFLOTX, ILOA)- there is no field for del flag and active status.

Hi, standard didnt let us fulfilling this requirement. What we did- we extended table IFLOT with additional field for the status and used an user exit when saving FL, to take the value (status) from table JEST/TJ02T and copy the value to the newly created field. Then BD52, iflo, iflot, and the new field and it worked. Of course the function module for the message type (BD60) had to be changed to add this status value in additional segment/field for the idoc. Hope this will help You, as there is a lot of technical background behind it, and this is only functional overview.

How can we delete any equipment from a functional location and also if we have to delete an specific functional location?

for deleting the equipment/functional location first you have to put the Deletion flag for the respective technical objects ,and before archiving you have to archive the dependencies of the object first

Mass upload of BOM for Equipment & Functional Locations

Dear Gurus,
I have an existing system with Functional Locations & Superior Functional Locations, Equipments with Superior equipments. I need to update the BOM for all (most) of these. Can we do it through LSMW or any other Mass update transactions?? Please guide me with the process.

You Can use LSMW object by Direct INPUT method In which Sap ECC 6.00 has Standard Programme for uplaoding of BOM.Details are as below
Object:0030---> Material BOM
Method:0002--->Change
Program Name:--->RCSBI010
Program Type:B--->Batch Input

Equipment & Function Location Fields

Hi All
Can any one help me out.
Fields Equipment and Function Location are not refelecting in operation tab of general task list..in my Dev system
but when i test the same in IDES its refelcting there
I try to sort out this issue via Task List Field Selection.. but still helpless.. couldn't find these fields here also to make it unhide..

Hi Kapil,
As I know there is no field for Equipment or FLock, as this is the general Task List and can be used in any Equipment.
If you are using IA05, there wont be any Equipment or FLock field in the same.
In IA01 you can Definitely find the same as this is the Equipment Specific Task List.
and IN IA11 you can find the field for the Functional Location.
Please check again.

Equipment/Functional Location Attachments and Hyperlinks Batch Upload

We would like to upload File attachments or create Hyperlinks for a reference object in batch - an equipment using transaction IE02 or a functional location IL02. We have already tried creating an LSMW for this however attachments and hyperlinks are deactivated using the LSMW functionality.

I guess you are trying to attach the Hyperlink and documents for individual objects through the generic object services(GOS).If thats the case the standard Generic object services does not support background process and hence the unavailability of the same in LSMW.
However you can create a separate custom program to create attachments to individual objects using the class and Methods associated with Generic object services (GOS).
The Method that you would need to use is "CL_BINARY_RELATION=>CREATE_LINK" associated to class "CL_BINARY_RELATION ". There are sample codes available in ABAP development forum to do exactly the same.

User statuses for equipment,functional location,order,notification

Kindly suggest me which user statuses should be assigned to equipment,func. location,notification & order.

There is no rule or std instruction which user status to be assinged to equipment,FL, Notification or order. In std you may get some user status for equipment. notification etc. It doesnt mean that you should use it. User status are define /created base on the business requirement . a user status can be assigned to multiple object type such as equipment, notification ,order etc.
You can refer the std user status profile when you create your own. In order to know the detail of it object type. You can select the status profile >> click on the detail>> click on the object types.

Mass Change of Functional Locations - error message "Objekt PM_MASS.....

Hi Experts,
We have activated autorization object I_MASS - to make it possible to carry out Mass Change on Functional Locations.
The menu patch are now visible - but I get error message "Objekt PM_MASS_TECH_OBJECTS is not maintained"
How is that done in SLG0 - any one have experience?

Equipment Mass Change

Hi To All,
Is there a way that we/I can make a mass change in the WBS of our equipment?
As it is right now, I have to pull up a query of equipment under the same WBS number and go into each piece of equipment and change the WBS to the new number that we will use for the next year. Is it possible for me to bring up a query of equipment and change them all at once instead of one at a time.

As far as I know CNMASS is the standard transaction to carry out mass change of WBS elements,network,activities,activity elements, relationships,milestones.I do not think it will help u in your requirement rather you can use BDC or LSMW for mass changes. create recording (SHDB) using change transaction ( foe example: IE02) and with the help of an ABAPER you can develop a BDC program for the recording .Then develop the input file based on the changes for the Equipment masters .Now exeute the program with the input file.

EA-PLM can be activated in customizing as follows:
IMG:
- Activate SAP ECC Extensions
Then select 'Enterprise AddOns' tab.
You can check the current status to see if it is off or on.
If off then check with your Basis people about activating it. Note 855959 and additional notes listed in note 877008 provide some more information on these switches.
