Cartridge alignment failed on C6300

Black did not print after i added a new black ink.  The first print came out so light it could not be read unless held just so.  I also replaced yellowand photo black.  nothing printed. Test page would only show the windows logo in four colors.  I soaked the print head (it was caked!) Replaced all inks.  Printer routine went through  a test page that showed red/bue/ yellow/ and a grey-brown bars across the top.  The rest of the page printed in blue and grey while the printer scren showed that it was trying to align the cartridges.  Alignment failed...more than four times.  Even with my removing the inkd and the peint head.
Am I ready for a new printer??

Hi TallPaul_1,
I see the printer is working, but the colors in the printed output are not the expected colors. It sounds to me like an issue with the printhead itself, but please start with the following document. Printed Colors Are Not the Colors Expected.
If the issue persists, continue with the following document; 'Missing or Failed Printhead' or 'Printhead is Missing, Not Detected, or Not Properly Installed' Mes.... I know that you are not seeing any error messages let alone a missing printhead error, but there are three areas on the printhead that need to be cleaned: the plastic ramps on both sides of the ink nozzles, the edge between the ink nozzles and the electrical contacts, and the electrical contacts, the solution offered in this document will guide you through steps to clean the printhead.
I would like to say that one of the documents above will resolve the issue, but I can not make such a promise. Please check the warranty status of the printhead.  If the printhead is in warranty, call HP. The number to call HP is 1-800-474-6836 for Canada and US, or you can Contact HP Worldwide. If the printhead warranty has expired, please take a look at the following video. This is a personal recommendation, this solution would not be found in an HP document, but I have seen success with the solution offered.  Hot Water Printhead Flush - HP Ink Series Printers with removable Printhead. I propose this solution as a last stitch effort.
I want to ensure we leave no stone unturned! If your quality is still poor, I recommend calling HP regardless of the warranty status. HP might be able to offer you a discount on a newer model, or have something to offer.
If you would like further assistance from me, I will gladly return and provide a helping hand, I would like to see this resolved. Please let me know the outcome of the solutions I have offered, thanks.

  • Cartridge alignment failed!

I have a HP Officejet J5780  All-in-One  printer.  It was working fine until i ordered the new replacement cartridges online from the HP store.  When it came to replace them and use them i started to have difficulty aligning the cartridges.
The error message i keep getting no matter what i try is this:
    ERROR:  Align Page not Detected!
I have repeatedly have tried over and over .... now i can't print anything.  I only had this printer a year and seldom use it!!!
    This question was solved.

We had the same problem when we replaced our black cartridge.  The answer is that we also had to replace the color cartridge.  The alignment page needs to have color and black alignment bars.  The alignment page that printed upon replacing the black cartridge had no color on it, and thus was rejected each time by the alignment routine.  Once we replaced the color cartridge as well, the alignment page printed with both black and color and the alignment completed.

  • Alignment failed Officejet Pro 8500 Premier

    Hi,
I own a HP Officejet Pro 8500 Premier and the problem begun while printing a color document. The yellow disapeared. It's been about a month I changed all the ink cartridges. I use the printer regularly but not on a heavy usage. (about 7000 pages within 3.5 years)
I then tried to clean the printheads, align the print heads but still no yellow.
I then opened the cover to see if the tubes were well connected. I presses the star buttom to make the printheads possible to be seen. It's hard to see but I noticed air bubbles in the yellow tube.
I then closed the cover and the printer begun a printhead alignment. Before it finishes, the message align failed!. I pressed OK
the printer looks like crazy Can't do anything. It still entering in printhead alignment mode ending with the alignment failed message. Half the color cartridges has been consumes in these processes.... at 40$ each!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Do someone see anything I can do?
    Thanks

    Hi
Finally exited from alignment process but almost no yellow left in the brand new cartridge and still no yellow printed on paper.

  • HP L7680 Printer Alignment Failing and only prints magenta on test pages

    Hi,
My printouts have been getting a little streaky so looked at the mataining printhead section in the manual. It says about how to clean the contacts and I followed this perfectly. I also took this opportunity to change all the ink cartridges after doing the suggested head clean before starting the process.
Now I keep getting the "alignment failed" error and when I print out a self test report it is only in magenta. Also the printout which happens at the end of alignment sequence only has magenta " N's " on it and nothing else.
When I print out a pdf page there is no black, but yellow and red colours are there.
I have reset the printer using the # with 6 and 9 and this does not help.
After each reset and alignment sequence the printer goes though various functions which takes about 15-20 each time and has used a lot of ink.... My brand new 88XL cartridges which cost about £75 are now less then half full and i've not even printed a proper page yet.
Can someone from HP please get in touch to tell me the solution before I waste any more ink.
    Regards

  • I still get an "Alignment Failed" message even after problem is solved

Yesterday, I installed a new 60 black cartridge when the previous one ran out of ink.  Shortly after the new cartridge was installed, I received an "Alignment Failed" error message.  I ran the steps specified in the solution center and apparently solved the problem.
However, I turned on my computer today and got the same message.  I wonder why...
By the way, none of my print jobs have been affected.

Never mind!  I just came back from live chat  with Syed.  During that time, I thought to do a re-scan and this time it was trouble-free.  I will, however, monitor future print jobs and restarts to my computer to make sure it's completely fixed.
And if there's another problem from now on, I know where to go!

  • Printer Alignment Fails

Installed new printer cartridges (black, yellow, magenta, cyan, and photo) Ran alignment tool and failed. Can you help?

    Hi @maryrk ,
I see that you are experiencing issues after replacing the cartridges, the printer won't run the alignment. I will do my best to help you.
I would do a hard reset to see if that will resolve the issue.
Leave the printer on and unplug the power cable from the printer and wall outlet for 60 seconds.
Then reconnect the power cable to the printer and wall outlet rather than a surge protector.
This ensures the printer is receiving full power and may help this situation.
Try these steps to see if it will resolve the issue.
An 'Alignment failed' Error Message Displays on the Printer.
Are you using Genuine HP Cartridges?
If you need further assistance, just let me know.
    Have a nice day!

  • Print Alignment Failed and Cyan color not printing on Officejet 8500 Primier

The Alignment Fails and the Cyan color is not printing. The Cyan cartridge was low and was failing to add the blue color.  Even though it was not empty, I replaced it.  After doing so it went through the alignment process and I received an error message "Alignment Failed"  I proceeded to take the following troubleshooting steps: 1.  Cleaned printhead & Alignment through the printer tools2.  Reinserted the Cyan ink cartridge, cleaned & aligned printhead3. Turned the printer off, unplugged the power cord from the back of the printer for one minute and then plugged back in.  I then went through the alignment again. None of these troubleshooting techniques worked.  The only thing I have not done, is replace the printhead.  They are so expensive and I'm worried that this may not be the issue.

    Hi DavidM2,
    Welcome to the HP Forums.
I see that you are having issues with the Cyan and the Yellow ink cartridges as well.
First off, please make sure that you have the printer power cable connected directly to a wall outlet and not a power bar/strip. Here is a document that uses a LaserJet printer as an example but it is meant for HP products in general. Please click on the following link that explains the Issues when Connected to an Uninterruptible Power Supply/Power Strip/Surge Protector.
If you are still having issues then try to replace the cartridges.
Let me know how you make out and if you have any other questions, feel free to ask.
    Cheers,

  • OfficeJet Pro 8500 A910 Alignment failed

Printer menu is showing 'Alignment has failed.'I just changed an ink cartridge because Yellow had run out. Prior to this the printer kept repeating the Alignment. It has done about 10 alignments since yesterday morning. My husband got it to print a few documents yesterday but after each job it realigned and gave us an ink warning. Prior to that it has had messages that it was not available for printing and has taken a long time to print any jobs. This had gone on for a few days. Prior to that the default settings had readjusted and we kept having to take a very long route back into the Options menu to get double sided printing. Paper seemed to be feeding badly when doing double sided but OK for single sided. Prior to that there was a paper jam last Thursday that I attempted to clear twice with great difficulty. We have been doing our best to resolve the issue but all the steps are very complicated and time consuming. I am very frustrated and have just spent $174 on new inks. The shop assistant advised me to buy a new printer.Would this be the best solution? Is there anyone who looks at Printers or services them in Melbourne? Is there anyone who I could speak to for advice?I cannot seem to find any such service from the HP website or through their telepone support. The phone number just told me to go back to the website!

Hi , I read your post and see that the printer keeps printing the alignment page. You replaced yellow cartridge and still have the same results. I would like to help you. This issue usually occurs for one or two reasons, a power issue or a issue with refilled cartridges. Just to rule out a power issue, I would connect the printer directly to a wall outlet. Are you using Genuine HP Cartridges?
What are the ink levels? Try these steps in this document, to see if it will resolve the issue. 'Alignment failed' Error Message Displays on the All-in-One. If the issue persists, please try the steps in this document to see if it will help resolve this issue. An 'Ink Cartridge Appears to Be Missing or Damaged' Error Message Displays on the Printer Control Pa... 'The following printhead appears to be missing or damaged' Displays for HP Officejet Pro 8500A e-All... If you appreciate my efforts, please click the 'Thumbs up' button below. • Officejet Pro L7480 Alignment Failed

    HI,
I am trying to resolve an issue with an all-in-one Officejet L7480.  The display shows alignment failed, I've tried replacing all ink cartridgeswith new ones to no avail.  I've also tried removing the two printheads and putting them back in but that didn't work either.  If I try to send a print from the computer (Vista OS) then the printer just shows alignment failed.  It will only print pages that I select using the buttons directly on the printer and accessing the  menu eg Self Test Diagnostic Page.  Even when this does print it prints in all Magenta.
I've spoken to the HP Support and their suggestion is to replace both Printheads, even though it does say on the test page that both printheads health is good.  Has anybody come across something like this before? Is it likely that the printheads are faulty?
Any help will br greatly appreciated
    Thanks
    Jerome
